Introduction

After the conclusion of the Tsukiyama Family Extermination Operation, the members of the Commission of Counter Ghouls (CCG) have grown exponentially in power and continue to pursue their goal of exterminating every ghoul in Japan. Having resigned from Quinx Squad, the now seemingly emotionless Haise Sasaki begins taking on more and more tasks from the CCG with no regard to the difficulty. Despite his vacant expressions, Ken Kaneki's memories are resurfacing in Haise, leaving him in a state of internal conflict. Meanwhile, his new coldhearted behavior is affecting the people around him. Quinx Squad are left in shambles, having to cope with the death of one of their members without the support of their former mentor. Amidst this turmoil, both Quinx Squad and Haise must continue to fulfill their duties to the CCG, whether willingly or not. However, the presence of a mysterious group behind the CCG has been made known to Haise, and certain whispers of corruption have not gone unheard by the Quinx Squad as well. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

I absolutely love Tokyo Ghoul and even went on to read the manga, which probably makes my disappointment with this season even bigger. The problem isn't the story itself. Tokyo Ghoul has an interesting world, great characters, and a story that I genuinely became invested in. However, this adaptation feels rushed and messy, trying to fit way too much into too little time. As someone who experienced the manga, I couldn't help but feel disappointed by how much was skipped or poorly adapted. Important moments don't always get the time they deserve, and the story can become confusing if you haven't read the source material. It's frustrating because I genuinely love Tokyo Ghoul as a whole. The characters and story deserved a much better adaptation, especially towards the end. I don't dislike Tok…

After finishing the manga, it's impossible not to feel a certain sadness when revisiting Tokyo Ghoul:re 2nd Season. As a long-time fan of the franchise, I perfectly remember the disappointment I felt when this adaptation was released. At the time, I considered this season practically a disaster. Today, after a few years and with the dust settled, I can see it in a slightly more balanced way. The biggest problem with Tokyo Ghoul:re 2nd Season is that it tries to adapt an absurd amount of content into just a few episodes. The result is an extremely fast-paced narrative that frequently skips important explanations, character development, and emotional moments that had much more impact in the manga. For those who have read Sui Ishida's original work, it's evident that much was sacrificed in…

Pretty decent ending tbh. They should have released it in cours or parts, but the way they condensed 140+ chapters into 24 episodes is just sad, because we are talking about one of the best manga in the industry in this genre. I felt bad for the author of the manga. I mean, how could he even agree to do this? IDK!! I honestly didn't like the rushed pacing, but still, the animation quality was pretty good compared to season 1 of Tokyo Ghoul Re, which was like PPT at some crucial moments. P.S.: Instead, I recommend watching Parasyte Maxim, which is way better than this due to the music, voice actors, and characters; everything about the show is just amazing.

This anime was an experience that completely overwhelmed me in the best possible way. From the very first episode, I was pulled straight into its dark, tragic, and beautifully painful world. I watched both the first and second season, and honestly, I was amazed by how deeply it affected me. Every sad scene hit me so hard that I ended up crying almost every single time. The emotions were just impossible to hold back. Kaneki’s journey especially broke me. Watching him struggle, change, and suffer felt so real and heartbreaking that I couldn’t look away even when it hurt. The atmosphere, the music, the intensity of the story just everything worked together to create something incredibly powerful. Even though it’s dark and heavy, I was completely obsessed with it. It’s one of those anime that…

So I've reached the end of Tokyo Ghoul and I have very mixed feelings. The fourth season itself had many bright moments and brought me a few things I wanted to see (like Hinami, Touka and Akira meeting), I'm also glad that they included characters from the previous season - I found them surprisingly good here, especially the blue-haired girl who stole some good scenes. Anyway, the fact that everything happens all at once, unsuitable characters prefer to disappear somewhere and the necessary ones appear out of the blue and Kaneki continues to go through "transformations" without much explanation or defense of his state. The first season of Tokyo Ghoul was simply great - a clear and engaging story, well-developed characters and it drew you in, unfortunately then BOOM the second season and we…

=ANIME ONLY REVIEW= Kaneki seems to be NERFed again even though previously his power had started to rise again (when his memory returned in RE s1) because in eps 8 RE s2 Suzuya vs Kaneki seemed to have not released all his power but was cornered then defeated by a group without resistance & finally turned into a monster. Indeed, from the beginning the Power Scale in this anime has been inconsistent + the story plot & Plot Armor at the end of the season are always the same, the MC is completely BUFFed then in the next season will be NERFed again and so on. not only about power but the Story Plot is also very repetitive to the point of making you BORED & SICKNESS with this anime. Brief conclusion of the shortcomings: 1. Many story Plots & Dramas are repetitive to the point of making you bor…

if you didn't like the first part of the 2nd season, you won't like this either. i don't know where this anime went after the first season but everything just fell off. plot, pacing (ESPECIALLY THE PACING), characters, fights, powerscaling--somehow everything just got worse. only the first season has any rewatch value, and even then it'll only remind me of how far this anime fell off. the anime probably would've benefited from a more drawn out series--another season perhaps to expand on what the hell was even happening with half of the characters. i felt no attachment to any of the characters whatsoever, probably because there's barely any time to understand what's going on for most parts (if it was even being explained).

TLDR at bottom: I actually enjoyed the first season of re. It offered a decent story line as well as some cool visuals. However, the second seasons falls COMPLETELY flat. This is due to the fact that they tried to stuff 200 sum chapters of manga into only 20 episodes of anime. This is a recipe for disaster. Story: Kaneki has now gained his memories back is fighting for the ghouls. He has turned on the CCG. This season feels like constant fighting with no purpose. If you aren't paying full attention you're going to have ZERO clue of what is going on. And even if you're paying attention you still may have questions at times. The show constantly skips conversations and team planning. For example, the season starts with the CCG raiding Aogiri tree's base WITH NO HEADS UP. Like when the hell…

The final season of Tokyo ghoul is an anime where things happen. The problem is that I don't understand why they happen. There is a story and it clearly progresses throughout this season, it's just incredibly unclear why it progresses in the way it does. There's multiple different organisations, all with different goals (I'd assume) but all their goals are unknown and their actions don't seem to make any sense to me. Starting an organisation and then doing nothing, attacking people who are supposed to be your allies and having the main driving force behind the story be a concept that the viewer nor the characters can physically know are all factors that make this a confusion and poor story. The ending of the anime also fails to properly address how a society of humans and ghouls woould fu…

English: Sensational anime in my eyes, the first season only had the mistake of letting the protagonist take 12 episod…

For context I have not read the manga, and don't plan to. I know there are controversial differences between the two versions of the story that some fanboy would love to tell me all about, but I just frankly don't care. Tokyo Ghoul has one of the most pretentious stories I've ever seen. It's so high on the smell of it's own farts that there will still be people out here defending it simply because it tries to be "deep" so it must be good. This is a huge trend I've noticed with shows targeted at the Seinen audience. They think they need to be dark and mysterious and edgier than a razor blade factory in order to draw in the brooding, angsty demographic of autistic chuunis who still read manga into their late teens. What you get is a story that's all edge with no substance. There were a han…

I don't understand why the story is finished like that. As the seasons go by, the story gets worse; i mean, s1 was great and the plot was very interesting, s2 only opens new perspectives and creates doubts, s3 was even more confusing due to timeskip, so this s4 was supposed to end the whole story and so explain with details what happens in the anime. I feel very dissapointed, nothing of this 12 episodes makes sense, every choice and every explaining is ridicolous, i want forget it. It's like this ending is an insult for the original plot and what propose s1, such a lame. I was very disillusioned several days thinking how a promising serie that seems to be very good and one of those what makes you think and has psychological and philosophical reflections, finally it's bullshit. Supposedly,…

I really don't understand the hate for this season. I haven't read too much of the manga, but purely from an anime stand point, I couldn't be happier with how this season ended, aside from a few minor points. That may be a little overexaggerated, but it really met most of my expectations. If anything, part 1 gave me more trouble than 2 did. We at least are back with the characters that made season 1 and 2 good, and though I wish they would have spent more time with the Anteiku crew, rather than drudging from one crisis to the next, the ending made me happy and was what I had hoped for. I'm not sure what the other reviewers were wanting as the climax for the series, but you can't really get any more climactic (at least I don't think?). The story starts out a little awkward with a war happ…

This anime was basically just a game of "guess which character has come back to life as a ghoul since you last saw them". Now, I actually don't have much of a problem with anime removing scenes from the source material as long as the story still makes sense and keeps you hooked. With this show, as a non-manga reader, I just found myself confused and puzzled at many of the plot points. I constantly asked myself "hey, wasn't this guy supposed to be dead?" It was kinda explained later on but the characters weren't surprised at these people just showing up again out of nowhere, it felt like everyone was in on a secret apart from you. I do believe that if everything was actually explained, this anime could've been much better. I wish they had given the show more time to explain plot points in…

Why Studio Pierrot, why? Such a good show with rich story and characters just for it to be rushed and make totally no sense. Tokyo ghoul anime was one of the biggest letdowns in the anime history. The first season of the anime was really good and I enjoyed it a lot but ever since they split from manga in season 2, everything just stopped making sense and became like a candy without sugar. After that the 3rd season eventually continued with the manga but skipped so many things it just totally stopped making sense, totally. No explanation as to what happened after the events of season 2 and the whole thing was just messed up without any explaining. No character development, too many new characters, random fights without any reason and many more. And finally, the last season of the Tokyo…

This anime doesn't deserve all the hate its getting, its not the best anime out there however its a decent anime. Sure they messed and rushed the storyline and the ending. The animations and characters designs were really good and creative especially the kagunes for example Eto's kagune was nice it was very detailed, scary and was creative. The Animations were decent some of the fights looked good but some kind of felt unfinished for me but it's still decent. The story was pretty bad in the first two season they explain what's happening but in this season they just throw it in your face without telling you what's happening and why that's happening, I have to admit that the ending was bad and was rushed and could of been better definitely. Overall the anime was good for me I liked mostly ev…

Bear in mind that this review is for the entirety of Tokyo Ghoul - although each season is considered separately. The first season of this series is, without a doubt, a masterpiece. Kaneki Ken is a fine specimen of a protagonist whose ideals are malleable, yet firm, whose heart is pure, yet corruptible. Admittedly, I’ve always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with the series. It’s the only series where if I don’t watch it for a year or so, I will completely forget the plot. Not sure if that’s a good thing or bad thing that the show isn’t that memorable. You may remember that I said that the first season was a masterpiece (about 2 paragraphs ago). Then, you may be asking: “senpai, what about the other three?”. Well, they go downhill. Actually, let me rephrase, they go downcliff. Sea…

I asolutely loved the first two seasons. The third one was a total disappointment . Disliked the new Kaneki, even though i understand why they chosed this path for him of being an investigator. They could at least try to make the audience have a reason to bond with all these new characters and actually create a better storyline so that people wouldnt lose their interest just like i did. The 4rth season felt to me like everything the third season took away, it was given back. Thats the reason why i cant understand why this season has such a low rating! I finally saw things happening, things that i really wanted to happen and i was expecting to watch them in season 3! No matter if the 4th season was super enjoyable for me to watch as it gave me the pleasure to watch all those things i wanted…

To be completely honest, the show does not do justice to the manga which is a lot better than the anime. In terms of the anime, the first season is what I would consider as the peak of the anime. Everything went down hill from there. RE is still better than the root a as that was utter garbage. In terms of the story, it was decent however does not live up to the hype and do justice to the manga. The art work is decent but no where near exceptional. The sound track was quite good in my opinion but that might be my bias for TK from Ling Tosite Sigure and Yutaka Yamada. The character development was a bit interested however it does not compare to that in the first season of RE or the first season overall. One can enjoy the show if one just shuts of their mind. To conclude, it is a good bing…

Could have extended the middle, put in more, continue the show. The story 6 Why 6? ended too soon and mutsuki stuffed it a bit for me. art 4 why 4? kept using gif type things and the budget for it wasn't too good. Sound 8 why 8? just is. Character 9 why 9? Mutsuki stuffed up Ken's part quite a bit. Enjoyment 8 why 8? Could have extended it more. Overall 7 why 7? best anime (including 1,2 re 1) I've seen 100% will rewatch, feels emotional. I really don't get why people hate this? guess it's the opinions and the alright art type.
