Uma Musume: Pretty Derby Season 2

The one receiving the most attention in the group is Toukai Teiou, known for her cheerful personality and exceptional running skills. Season 2 improved in a lot of ways from season 1 in terms of characters, relationships and most importantly the story. When I first watched the first season I did like Teio and the rest of Team Spica and with the focus on her than Spe, it really opened my eyes to why I love Umamusume, the rivalry, the determination, the infallible human spirit to win. It pulled in my heart strings and I enjoyed it a lot more than season 1. There’s a lot that I want to say but it really is that much more enjoyable and such a masterpiece of story writing. I was already a fan of Umamusume when I first watched the film but the anime made me feel like I’m watching something special and the only thing closest to this kind of feeling I have is JJBA and I love them both a lot. What a wonderful series

Umamusume was a title that I had originally written off as just another strange anime characterization that wouldn't last. That was a severe oversight. Umamusume: Pretty Derby Season 2 manages to encapsulate some of the truest emotions when faced with the very real problems and trials of not just racing, but sports as a whole. Season 2 no longer focuses on Special Week and Silence Suzuka, but on the new stars Tokai Teio and Mejiro McQueen. Tokai Teio is a powerful horsegirl who looks up the legendary Symboli Rudolph, aiming to take home the triple crown. Mejiro McQueen comes from the prestigious Mejiro bloodline and is expected to perform well. The relationship between these two characters, going from friends to rivals, and pushing each other to surpass their limits was beautiful to see.…

This is just plain wholesome goshhh I love everything about this show. Knowing the fact that the story is based from their real life story makes me even more emotional. Tokai Teio’s story is really inspiring that she is the protagonist for this season!!! A lot of new characters appeared compared to season 1 but it doesn’t create any confusion. I love all the small details and background characters they add in. This show never fails to bring me joy. Just cute (and cool) horse girls having fun together, training and racing, I never thought it could be so wholesome. Their soundtrack never fails me too. Thank you uma musume

========A REVIEW EM PORTUGUÊS ESTÁ ABAIXO DA REVIEW EM INGLÊS=========== ========THE PORTUGUESE REVIEW IS BELLOW THE ENGLISH REVIEW============= The second season of Umamusume: Pretty Derby builds upon the foundations of the first one. Previously introduced characters return, the girls are still cute, and Gold Ship still refuses to let go of her Rubik’s Cube. The main change this time around is the shift in protagonists. While season one focused more on Special Week and Silence Suzuka, season two puts the spotlight on Toukai Teiou and Mejiro McQueen. But does this season really deserve the almost one-point higher score it has on this site compared to season one (which is a huge difference)? The short answer is yes—absolutely. But why? Besides changing the protagonists, season two also…

After watching the first season and thinking it was goat, i got really thrown off by the beginning of season 2. i was perfectly used to seeing Special Week as the protagonist, so at first i felt like Teio didn’t have strong motivations, and that this season was gonna be just pure aura farm. but i was wrong. the development hit in such a beautiful way. the absolute drama of this season, the motivations, the weaknesses, the fears everything felt so real to me. Teio and Mcqueen were two extraordinary and essential characters. sometimes all we need is to give our absolute best and hope a miracle happens. in the end, i realized i had it all wrong, and because of the drama and the emotional weight, this season became the real peak. i’ve never cried this much watching an anime in my whole life (i…

TE-I-O! TE-I-O! TE-I-O! TE-I-O! TE-I-O! TE-I-O! TE-I-O! TE-I-O! TE-I-O! TE-I-O! TE-I-O! Here I am, just trying to watch an Anime about cute girls doing some horseracing, crying in my room. Uma Musume has great storytelling, despite just telling what happened in real life as well! Thy did an excellent job portraying Horse Racing history, while also giving each horse a lot of character, writing excellent relationships and putting the cherry on top with a banger soundtrack. Uma Musume Truly is a great show even if you dont care about the Game or Fandom. Highly recommend. 10/10 Emotionally Touching 10/10 Great Relationships 10/10 Historically Accurate 9/10 Good and well placed Comedy in between 7/10 The animation at times was a bit lackluster, but I've heard that going on ward it takes…

I still can’t believe that an anime about horse girls racing actually made me cry — and more than once on top of that. I already liked the first season, but this one is on a whole different level. It’s crazy how they managed to tell such a good story in what seems like a simple anime. Sorry, Silence Suzuka, but Teio has become my favorite. Still, I hated what they did to you this season — you were completely pushed to the side. And this last episode was without a doubt the best one — and that ending, I was cheering so hard when Teio and McQueen ran together Hachimi Hachimi.

I liked the first season of Uma Musume, but season two completely blew it out of the water for me. The storyline this season was a lot more dramatic and realistic, revolving around Tokai Teio and Mejiro McQueen. I already found Teio to be cute at the start, but getting to see her highs and lows throughout the season really touched my heart. She's such a lively, playful personality, but the way she struggled to move on shattered my heart so horribly. Teio and McQueen’s relationship was absolutely the show's soul for me, and I also liked how Teio looked up to Symboli Rudolf, and it was a great nod to her true heritage. McQueen was terrific, too, more mature and quieter than Teio, and I adored how their relationship was handled. Their relationship really propelled the whole season and brought…

Umamusume season 1 was very fun and lighthearted. It was funny, wholesome, and made me smile. Umamusume season 2 was not the most fun, not lighthearted show there is. But it showed the potential of Umamusume's storytelling beyond the premise of silly girls with long ears and bushy tails going head-to-head in footraces. The show diverges its focus into two protagonists who were side characters from season 1: Tokai Teio and Mejiro McQueen. Initially, I was quite astonished how much it seemed to ignore the accolades of its previous protagonist and turn her into a joke character but it became a non-issue after a while since the show direction had masterful development of its cast and characters. Teio and McQueen's rivalry was strong and the show manages to build a very healthy vibe of sport…

English Drama, drama, drama and even more drama — that’s the perfect definition of this season. The comedy takes a step back to focus on the Umas’ growth. I never thought Toukai Teiou would take the role of protagonist, since in the first season she was just the “dancing girl” who admired the president and nothing more. But I was so wrong. What a character! The way her pain, helplessness, desire to give up, and later her resilience and growth are portrayed is simply stunning. All those emotions, charged with the will not to fall, felt like a true roller coaster. She begins as an Uma full of admiration and ends up becoming a true role model. Alongside Mejiro McQueen, who left behind her bond with Gold Ship from the first season to now build a wonderful friendship with Teiou, they form a l…

Absolute cinema. After the first season, I was a bit skeptical about how the second would hold up—but honestly, it delivered. This season brings the emotional depth that the first one lacked. The characters, especially Teiou, go through powerful and touching moments that feel genuine and meaningful. The story handles these emotional scenes really well, and they leave a strong impression. The pacing is solid too. The anime introduces new characters, but not so many that it becomes overwhelming. It strikes a good balance between expanding the world and keeping the narrative focused. Visually, there’s a clear upgrade from Season 1. The art and animation are noticeably better—which makes sense, given that this season was released three years later. Everything feels sharper and more polished.…

Season 2 made me more invested into Umamusume, with a much better story, animation and the best protagonist the shows have offered Toka Teio. Teio's story is so compelling and everything that happens makes you like the character more and more, with the best final race in all of the seasons, she is so nice to everyone around her and her energy is so contagious and her rivalry with Mejiro is such a cute dynamic. But this show also makes a sin that happened before and it's not showing us more Gold Ship, Vodka, Scarlet, COME ON show me them racing why is it so difficult?????? Everything else is good, forgettable but it sure makes the thing they show us work, so yeah the best season of Umamusume that I highly recommend to watch if you don't know about this world of if you want more of it.

I am a late comer to the series. I saw a few clips of season 2 but I actually watched season 3 and the anime starring oguri cap BEFORE I watched season 2. I know, I know. I'm out of order. However, as much as I liked the other two seasons, Season 2 is several steps ahead. I did see some initial naysayers at the beginning of this season whine about Special Week not continuing to be the MC, but I'm willing to guess that by the end of Season 2 most of them were happy with the change to focus on Teio and McQueen. This is the type of season that makes me want to play the game. Teio and McQueen supporting each other in their weaknesses, a great mini story of Rice Shower, Teio's relationship fleshed out with Rudolph, and a good amount of comedy, etc.....it's nigh perfect. I have never given…

The first season of "Uma Musume: Pretty Derby" was like one big smorgasbord of material, where the writers didn't know what genre they should focus on: the sport side, the idol side, the school side, or the slice of life side. In the first season the main characters, Special Week and Silence Suzuka weren't really fully focused on either, as the writers were trying balance screentime with all of the Umamusume's. In the second season the writers corrected this by leaning almost entirely into the sports genre and focusing almost entirely on the 2 new main characters who were side characters in the first season, Toukai Teiou and Mejiro Mcqueen. First off, it needs to be said that if you are planning on watching this season, prepare to have your heart wrenched. Teiou's and Mcqueen's shared ri…

(Disclaimer: The following review contains spoilers for Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Season 2. I highly recommend watching the anime before reading the specifics here.) Uma Musume: Pretty Derby Season 2 is a solid continuation of the franchise, offering deeper insight into the Uma Musume universe. After delivering the Uma Musume franchise with season 1 (which I argue season 1 was supposed promotion to the game, which we know got delayed). Even after the delays, the franchise can be called successful, selling all of the characters. Therefore, in season 2, the studio was more open to making more serious and 'proper' stories for this franchise. Instead of continuing the MC from season 1, Special Week story. We are serves the story of her teammates in team Spica, Tokai Teio, and her rival, als…

Absolute cinema, peak anime. The characters are written so good, it's perfect down to the last second. I've never cried this many times before. I think I cried like more than 10 times watching all 3 seasons, I'm writing my review in the second season because Teio made me cry like every other episode. I've never been this attached and emotional to an anime. It's literally perfect down to the last second. Teio's and Kita-san's last race got me clutching my hand and cheering for them. Never knew horse racing before but this anime and all those memes stirred up something in my heart. The plot is so good, let me eat more something like this. I'm so glad I'm born during this time. This shi got me crying like a child (20 years old grown man btw). I love it

If I should express my opinion on this anime in one sentence that is : "What the F*ck?! this is peak!" Let me explain, but before that I want to address the bad thing about this season before I say anything good about them. There's a lot use of 3D in this anime, not to extend that it looks terrible but it's much more noticable if you have keen eyes. And subjectively, Rice shower needs more timeframe. I love her story so much and that's it I think the worst part about this anime that's why I deduct -1 point from it And as for the rest is really amazing, while the graphic wasn't as great as the newest season it's still really good. The plot is much darker than the previous season, and the tone of it is started really early. There was barely any filler about this season and there's also ba…

If I had to express in three words what I felt after finishing this season, it would be: 🔥Perseverance🔥 ✨Emotional✨ ✊Comeback✊ I really didn't expect this franchise to deliver an incredible animation experience. The previous season was good, but I still felt something was missing... and that's what I found in this sequel. The focus on character development is admirable, with all of them going through some phase of overcoming and competing to qualify for the biggest race in Japan. The dances after the races are still the same, but the highlight is the famous Teio Step! If you watched the first season and aren't sure whether to continue, I say you should consider watching this!

There’s a series that’s pretty funny from the outside but outright personal on the inside and I would personally like to put Uma Musume as a prime example. From the start, the series with season 1 started very promisingly despite what others would say. It’s a reimagination of horse events that happened in Japan (and I would like to remind you that those events are still happening, even to this day) but now, with horse girls with entirely unique personalities and motives to keep the whole thing fresh. It worked out well when it was fully built but even I have to admit that it can be a bit too silly for its own good. So it didn’t hold my interest in the series that much. That was until the existence of season 2, which heavily changed the series for the very best. While I still think season 1…

Absolute master piece, I thought this anime would be trash First, when I started watching this anime, I was thinking it was another waifu, "love these cute girls" anime when my friend reccomended this to me. It was partially true but I felt very passionate about this anime when I started seeing characters with a goal and thier strong desire for winning. (EX:Riceshower) I never thought I would find my self crying over someone's success because I disliked many anime with happy endings. I seen animes that made you cry by death or other sad moments. This anime was different. I hoped for Toukai Teiou to achieve her goals after many injuries she had. Uma Musume made me cry by showing someone succeed. This was new experience. What I also liked about this anime was that the story didn't focus on o…
