"Sometimes the best way to make someone notice you... is to stop chasing them."
I'll be honest, this anime caught me by surprise.
I went into it expecting another generic high school romance where the main character spends twelve episodes chasing after a girl who clearly isn't interested. Instead, the complete opposite happens. The second he decides to move on with his life, everything around him starts changing. It's a really interesting concept, and that's what kept me watching.
The biggest strength of this show isn't actually the romance. It's watching the main character slowly become a better version of himself. Instead of spending every episode embarrassing himself trying to impress one person, he starts helping the people around him, becoming more mature, and learning that his lif…

As for my opinion, I think the anime's biggest strength is its concept. A romance story where the obsessive boy decides to stop chasing the girl is a refreshing idea because most romance anime reward persistence no matter how unhealthy it is.
The problem is that the series doesn't fully commit to that premise. The protagonist, Wataru, spends much of the story caught between moving on and continuing his obsession. i find it frustrating because it makes his growth feel inconsistent.
I don't think Wataru is a terrible character, but the way he often lacks confidence, overthinks everything, and struggles to maintain boundaries. stood up for himself. If you're someone who values self-respect and decisive characters, he's probably going to annoy you.
The anime is also hurt by its adaptation. Fan…

A sweet and sour Highschool themed anime! as always, opened with misunderstandings realization...
Wait a minute.. what do you mean they dont have those? Huh? Plot that doesnt make sense? What do you mean by that? Its highschool themed! highschool themed! Its so easy to just put 5 tropes in a row and make a story out of it, easy sell, easy go.
But I believed this anime is practically a scheme for the animator to money launder their budget somewhere, in fact, the rest of the money went into the AI model they wrote trying to make this anime.
"Hey ChatGPT! Make me a good romance novel with sweet moments including Senior Highschool stuff with irrelevant plot and somehow fan services!"

Since you have taken your precious time to search this show it is important for you know what you should expect from this pile of garbage of a show. I have decided not to use strong language, but imagining the utter waste of time it had did for me and the sloppy ending, I'm forced to write this to prevent my fellow anime fans going from this.
First of all let's talk about the MC, he pretends to be the Ayanokoji + Kirito of this show. WTH, every other girl seems to be blushing over this dude without any concrete reasons, His words at most of the times doesn't carries any weight, everytime it's just "yeah", "okay", "good", phrases that he uses, and don't ask about other characters, the lead girl doesn't even speaks many times, The character development is so shallow for all the characters,…

I really like the character development of each character, I think it makes them seem more alive, you just have to enjoy it more.
The visuals are really good, but I think the MC's face looks a little different sometimes, but I don't really think much of it.
The main character in this anime is very smart in solving the problems of each other character, that's why the anime looks more alive. I don't want to spoiler anything about what will happen. you have to watch it yourself
I would probably recommend this anime to those of you who like rosidere

Easily wins my award for worst first episode as the show desperately tries to introduce all the characters like a shitty pilot.
Apart from that, the show really isn't half bad. It places us with the main character who doggedly barks after a girl who constantly and justifiably rejects him until he suddenly realizes he is being a creep. In spite of her actually liking it, it leads to our main character changing his shameful ways and finding his own self confidence in bringing others up.
This show is better seen as a slice of life show that pretends to be a harem romance as we see our main character meet many girls who he helps through their own problems however small and on his own rebuild his self-worth.
While I do lowkey despise the ending the only thing stopping me from hating the show i…

Okay, just want to say this really quick: I'm not like these other reviews that are super technical and care about specific details, animation, pacing, etc., because I don't care about all of that. I know MAL says "Readers aren't interested in this sort of review yadda yadda" but just bear with me, okay?
Long story short, I really enjoyed this show; it had many twists and turns, an interesting plot, and it left me with that "I can't believe it's over! I need MORE!" feeling that you get when you realize Avengers: Doomsday isn't coming out until December. It had some funny parts, which I enjoyed, and some more serious moments as well, which is to be expected from a romcom. I simply think it was a good watch, and I recommend this show.

i enjoyed the anime since it had a different vibe from other romance/slice of life animes, it was a good trip not gonna lie, i can
understand why some people didnt actually like it because of the pacing and randomness, however i do believe it is worth the watch, if
you want to change the routine of repetitive romance animes, the characters are developping every episode, and the anime is a roller
coaster of slight comedy, romance and interesting events. The most unique thing about the anime is that it showcased that maturity that
hits people when they go from middle school to high school, which is one of the most important steps in life as life starts getting serious,
college, jobs, independance and the distance drawn between siblings. It's a very good show to watch if you re in c…

The basic premise of this anime is that the protagonist, Wataru, falls head over heels in love with a girl named Aika and actively pursues her for years despite her shutting him down hard the entire time. However, he has a sudden epiphany where he reevaluates himself and what he’s been doing, and begins to see himself as pointlessly bothering and annoying Aika. Thus, he decides that even though he’s still in love with her he’s going to abandon trying to woo her and simply watch her from afar.
At this point one would expect for Wataru to either start building a romantic relationship with another girl, or for Aika to then turn around and start trying to get with Wataru. Descriptions of this anime generally seem to suggest that both occur, and while that is true to an extent, neither is the…

“The Dreaming Boy is a Realist” is what happens when cliché combines with incompetent writing (something of a trend in the last years).
I’m actually shocked by how bad the writing in this show is. As far as romcoms go, this has very little rom and even less com. The first episode is an absolute atrocity, the level of incompetence here is astonishing. That episode does only two things — jack and shit — and those are not on the list of traits of a competent first episode. Episode 10 has elements that episode 1 should have and it’s in a form of a lazy retrospection that changes barely anything in the long run.
I would like to explain something. I will be talking about “plot” and “story”. Many people use those terms interchangeably. I’m not one of those people, so to make sure everyone is on…

Here I am. I’ll say it straight: Yume Miru Danshi is an anime that struck me in a special way. Not because it makes you cry, not because it makes you laugh… but because it portrays a situation that, in some ways, could actually happen in real life.
At first, the premise sounds strange: the guy keeps “stalking” her, never giving up, and you’re left wondering, “okay, where is this going?”. But if you look beyond that surface, there’s something very real: when someone suddenly stops receiving attention, they may realize how much that attention actually mattered, how much that presence was part of their daily life. And that, in my opinion, is the core of the anime.
It carries some Horimiya-like vibes: sweet, ordinary, with that sense of everyday life that slowly gets under your skin. It does…

This is a short one, and spoiler free, this anime doesn't have very good animation, and the voice acting for the dub isnt very good either, but the story and character development was amazing, in my opinion this anime has a lot of personality to it its not a copy pasted concept with predictable story, its much better than that. The voice acting (dub) reminds me a little of ghost stories, careless and free. What stood out most in this anime was the fact that the MC wasnt your usual pathetic punchbag, who gets verbally mocked by all other tsundere characters, infact all the characters were always reasonable and acted fairly. I give it a 10 out of 10+

Most basic reason: If i were asked "what romcoms would you recommend out there?" i dont really think i'd mention this one T_ T the first ep was promising but that was it for me, still i finished it til the very end hoping it would give something unique...
in my honest opinion i only got interested with episodes 1, then jump to 10, 11, 12. I was bored of the eps within those, i literally had to use split-screen to draw or game or whatever on the side, as i watched it... i guess i just really had high expectations of it but somewhere in the middle of the anime it felt as if they forgot about the whole point or goal of Sajo, or what the title was supposed to imply. I really couldnt get a clear message of what the anime wanted to to tell its audience, especially when they suddenly just inser…

Even though this is technically a romance anime, by the time the final episode ends, it feels like we’re right back where we started—and honestly, I can’t disagree with anyone who points that out. This is a common issue in many romance series: the story aims to stretch beyond a single season, but lacks the depth or momentum to justify it.
The relationships in this anime move forward and backward so frequently that even major emotional moments fail to leave a lasting impact. At times, it feels like nothing truly changes, no matter what the characters go through. Ironically, I’ve seen fantasy or sci-fi anime tell more compelling and well-paced romance stories than this one.
On the brighter side, there were a few genuinely funny moments—I did find myself laughing here and there. So while th…

They don’t want you till they can’t have you. Seeing them skip the entire he loves the girl and pesters her with love in the first scene really helped get through this show and i messed around and sped through it in 24 hours after getting disappointed with another weekly anime i was watching.
The show checks all the boxes npc mc who fawns over the girl check, tsundere female lead check, shy quiet book girl check, out of nowhere competition for the female lead check, bully older sister check, hot student counsel check. Not reinventing the wheel at all.
Great how once you stop chasing that moby dick you see there are other fish in the sea. Literally as soon as he stop the stalking fmc the girls flock to him and all he is doing is being a sensible person. His friends sister was a thirst tra…

The story just raw, natural, and genuinely purist with little bit classical spices. This anime basically reflected from real life, yet you can still into the world of imagination.
12 episode still maybe some viewers can be feeling dragging at some episode, but for me the pace it's still good. Especially the 2 lovebird Aika and Sojo, have been very beautiful character development.
This anime just hit different and so underrated, and if you want watching not some overcooked romance drama, this anime can make you die with a smile.
The score solid 8/10 for me, got boosted because this very underrated 👌

This is a weird one. I give it 8/10 but I have to categorise it as mixed feelings, since I love it, but it is flawed.
Where to begin? I love the story. He pushes and pushes and she blocks and parries his advances. Then "because... reasons..." He stops and pulls back. He stops calling her by her first name, which all throws her for a loop. However because of his ceasefire, she has time to contemplate the MC shaped hole in her life and even identifies how his harassment helped change her for the better. She concludes that she misses him and starts her own faltering pursuit of him. In a world where most ideas get recycled to death, I've not come across another one like this. Yes there are other break-up and get back together stories, but this one has that unique angle of not breaking up, beca…

For the first time, i agree with the score on an anime. This one's the textbook definition of "meh" when it comes to anime. Im honestly rather dejected with these sorta romance anime. Natsukawa is literally the worst choice the MC could take. Every other potentional love interest introduced is 100 times better.Even the ones that aren't really. And that 180 she does in the last 2 episodes? What the...? Come on man......You can't expect me to like her do you?She has 0 redeeming qualities. She only liked the attention he gave her, he was doing so well without her.... What a dissapointment ..... Literally the most unrealistic part is not how many girls fall for MC but the fact he doesn't choose anybody else.
A hard 6, could be even lower if it had no decent characters. Animation is meh as wel…

The Dreaming Boy is a Realist had potential to explore the realization, reflection & improvement of a person who was consumed by infatuation and unrequited love to the point of obsessive & self-destructive stalker behaviour, as the initial episodes showcased & the title of the series implies. Instead it’s a series about how you can be rewarded for the aforementioned behaviour rather than the improvements and how after separating oneself from the situation (in this case no longer engaging with the love interest), realizing your faults and growing as a person, the target of the unrequited love who blatantly states NUMEROUS TIMES that they don't share your feelings, will begin to care, reciprocate and engage.
'Stalk a girl until she says leave me alone & when you do just that, she'll fall fo…

I read the manga & watched the anime?
The beginning of this series was really cool and I understand how it went viral for a bit on Social Media.
A guy who willing chooses to stop stalking/simping/chasing after a woman seen in an Anime speak volumes.
I originally thought that was the plot, but as time passes, it seems the MC's resolve wasn't that strong.
Even though he stopped the bizarre behaviors, it seems he still decided to stick with his old feelings of "attraction" or "love."
Basically the really cool beginning sizzled out in a matter of moments/chapters and you only got a regular series which is just like anything else
