I Couldn't Become a Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job

Introduction

Dreaming of becoming a hero and vanquishing the Demon King, Raul Chaser enters the Hero Training Program in pursuit of his ambition. However, when the Demon King is defeated and peace returns to the world, the Hero Training Program is suspended indefinitely, making it impossible for anyone to become a hero. Two years later, Raul reluctantly works at a small electronics store called Magic Shop Leon. Though the former hero-in-training is plagued by the mundanity of working in retail, everything changes with the arrival of a new hire. Appearing at first to be just a boy with good looks, "he" turns out to be a female demon by the name of Fino Bloodstone. She is not just any old demon either—Raul's new coworker is in fact the daughter of the late Demon King! Handed the responsibility of training this eccentric new employee, Raul soon finds his life becoming livelier than it ever was before. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

I don’t necessarily want to call this a waste of a great premise, because all things considered this is a fairly enjoyable comedy show, but when you start to think about the greater potential of the show it’s hard to not fantasize about what could’ve been. The idea of showcasing a world where the final boss had already been defeated and how the resulting aftermath isn’t so much an era of peace, but rather one of recession, is actually fascinating and because this ends up being sidelined for what’s essentially small/mid tier business vs Walmart I can’t help but feel at least a little disappointed. This expectation isn’t entirely on my own self perception of the show either. Much of the finale is based on the idea that maybe there does need to be a final boss in the world in order to mainta…

This one's good, lol. Among the countless ecchi anime out there, few have managed to entertain me as much as Yuusha ni Narenakatta Ore wa Shibushibu Shuushoku wo Ketsui Shimashita. It's not a revolutionary work, it doesn't have an extremely complex narrative, and it doesn't try to reinvent the genre. On the contrary: it takes practically all the classic elements of an ecchi and executes them competently. The difference is that here there's something that many similar works fail to deliver: charisma. The premise is already attention-grabbing for being a little different from the usual. Instead of following a hero destined to save the world, we follow Raul, a young man who trained for years to become a hero, only to discover that the Demon King was defeated before he could even realize his…

Wow, this ecchi boobs girls anime is like an isekai before the isekai tropes set in and became mainstream. A pleasure to watch, everyone is happy and upbeat, and overblown nip slips are everywhere. What fanservice? The entire show is weapons-grade fanservice. You can't have fanservice in a show that is fanservice the entire time. This show is the mana essence of fanservice. If you can't get past the opening scene, then you were not meant to watch this anime. I actually like how polarizing it is because it keeps the bad viewers out. Some very memorable scenes in this, like Fino trying to memorize basic customer service phrases and getting them all wrong, e.g. "Sorry for the delay." becomes "Sorry that you're gay!" Reading the synopsis you'd think the premise of the show is ridiculous bu…

This anime had a great storyline, and everything would be great if it continued on like that. The plot was very solid and it was borderline slice of life. Until the nudity came in. They added it into literally every scene they could and took every opportunity possible to make the anime the most ecchi and borderline hentai as possible. Episodes were based off of something completely normal and there would just be surprise groping or moaning even though they were doing something completely normal. All I can say is that it had a lot of great potential and it disappointed me, who was expecting a peaceful slice of life anime. Though it was partly my fault I didn’t read the mature sign, the anime would have been so much better without the fanservice.

We follow Raul a man who dreamt of becoming a Hero his whole life but when the Demon King is defeated Heroes are rendered almost obsolete. With no prospects of becoming a hero Raul decides to work at the local Magic Appliance retail store. Enter Fino Bloodstone Daughter of the Demon King who decides to work at the same store. Raul must navigate Fino through her day to day work trying to teach her how humans behave. Having a fish out of water like Fino (whose ideas are a little erm... different from your average human) lead to some incredibly funny (& Awkward) moments. If you like comedy with a hearty dose of Fan Service with a side cast of fun characters, then this is the show for you. 9/10

Post Series Depression: ~3 Tear Factor: 0 Laugh Factor: ~6 Drama Factor: ~5 Character Attachment: ~4 Story: The story overall doesn't stray too much from the overarching theme of the show - that being a lax slice of life with characters working at a magic shop. Art: The art is pretty good - heavy fan service. Sound: Nothing too fancy, nothing terrible either. Characters: Most characters are superficial in my opinion and don't really have a personality outside of their designated role. So character attachments aren't very strong. Enjoyment: It's engaging up to the end. I would recommend for a watch if you don't mind heavy fan service. Overall: 7/10 - It's good, could be better, I wouldn't watch it more than once.

Relaxing series, its pretty good for a slice of life First of all the animation is no joke. Character movements are super smooth (especially the damn tiddies). The visual is outstanding as well, everything was warmly bright and the art blends in well. Personally I like the scenery, its a perfect blend of middle age and modern society. The plot is quite predictable but enjoying at the same time. Im just glad we get to see the MC in action near the end of the series. It gets a little bit boring in the middle though. There are also lots of fanservice, a lil bit too much if you ask me. Still, I enjoyed every last one of em. There is also budding romance but Im kind of disappointed it ended up dry at the end tho In conclusion, this high quality series is highly underrated and deserves more r…

In the same vein as "The Devil is a Part-Time," Yusibu is an entertaining nigh slice of life feel-good comedy about working retail in a fantasy world. Heroes and Demon Lords are things of the past, and what was once dreams must now be redirected toward a stable income. Most of the series is comedic. It has some cute ways of incorporating magic with everyday household appliances, but at the end of the day, it's about Raul, a guy who gave up being a hero, and Fino, the daughter of the Demon Lord, working together to serve happiness and customer service. Fino is so adorable. So. Stinking. Adorable. You also have the usual sidekicks you'll find in harem anime where the small-chested quiet type, big-chested mature type, and friends for a long time crush type all fall for Raul for no explicab…

This show is okish. The characters live on a world where the Demon Lord has been killed by some random hero, and the Main character is now working on a shop until the daughter of the former demon lord start working there and there a bigger shop appears and they have to survive that... with boobs... tons of boobs. Sometimes funny, tons of fan service, some mediocre characters, nothing outstanding on this anime, I wouldn't say it's a bad show but, deffinetly not a good one by any means, I laugh sometimes it was enjoyable at some degree, I was expecting worst from this one and I wasn't to wrong but... It wasn't that bad I suppose. One of that shows that I'm going to forget soon enough xD. But you can give it a try, maybe you like it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Edit: The 3 last episodes were great, I wished…

Have you ever seen tower of druaga, well this anime is what happens, when you can't become the hero and turn to get a job at what......a store. Some dragon girl that can turn back and forth from a dragon, also gets a job at a store from what was it daddy issues or something ( don't remember haven't seen this in a while and the anime wasn't really worth remembering that much). There is some light humor and this anime is very little like devil is a part timer, where the female they knew comes to the main character's store. If you like to complete anime just watch about 2-3 episodes a day, maybe a bit more else, nothing hurting the anime just skimming forward and skipping some boring parts just to finish the anime. Nothing else really worth mentioning about. Story-5 Art-7 sound-6 Characte…

I Couldn’t Become a Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job. Yep, that’s the English name for the bullet train sized Japanese name of the anime I’m reviewing right now right up there in the blog post title. Geez, what a mouthful. After waiting two whole years to hear some news on whether ‘The Devil Is A Part-Timer’ (highly recommended) would get a second season or not, I finally went crazy and decided to go on a hunt for similar anime. Luckily, it was pretty much just 5 second Google search and around 10 seconds of me reading the synopsis on MyAnimeList about this anime, which I’ll call ‘Yuu-ni’, to come to the conclusion that I had hit the jackpot and would thoroughly enjoy the next 4 hours or so. The very first thing I have to say about Yuu-ni is… TITS. Like, no. I mean, yes! Tits…

I really adore this show to be honest. I don't know what it is that makes me love this so much. But i finished this wanting a ton more. Favorite character by far is the main attraction "Fino" She is really fun to have on screen and i wish that we got more of her. I really love it when she sexual stuff happens to her and she get's embarrassed or when she is just completely clueless. Only problem i have is near the end ~~SPOILERS~~ I wish she did become the new Demon lord. I imagine it would be a lot better and that she could even open her own Leon store in the demon realm. I also imagine the MC being with her. It ending like it did didn't leave me satisfied. If it ended kind of like this then i may have even given this a 10 rating. I also wish the Armada store got into some type of t…

2nd review here so please be gentle. Yuusha Ni Narenakat- Oh for the gods' sakes... What is with Japanese and in long anime title names???? Unlike other reviews, I'm not gonna go over the characters and summary of the story because it's in the synopsis. Besides, I'm too lazy to type that out. Thanks Review Guidelines-san. Anyways, let's see first the story. Story: 3 Oh where to begin. Let's see. An interesting backdrop story featuring a guy trying to be a hero, but failed to do so due to sudden changing circumstances that is beyond his control? Check. And thus having to settle for the lowest option available as a store clerk? Check. He works with many busty and/or sexually appealing girls (and one dude...)? Check. A new girl arrives in town? Check. Boy meets girl? Check. The main cha…

Well the story is quite normal fantasy-based but with its own twist. At least I haven't seen any other anime where the hero and the daughter of deceased demon lord work together in a magical general store. Art-style is pleasing and I didn't find any half-assed scenes. Sound quality is nice. Nothing outstanding but nothing bad either. Small spoiler ahead!! Characters have some stereotypes included for example the shop manager is by nature exactly the same as in Ika musume (nice all the time but when triggered powerful enough to destroy any foe). The character development is also there which is always a plus. Enjoyment suffers from too many bouncing/nude boobs-scenes which kinda annoys the viewer. Personally I like boobs but too much is just too much and it starts to get repetitive and…

*Short and spoiler free* Are you a single, sexually deprived male who revels in watching cheap angles of the breasts and underwears of underaged animated girls? Then great, because this anime is perfect for you! The women are all dense, because how else would an "ecchi" work? Good for you though, because you already can’t handle strong women. They’re also one dimensional characters, because of course, all introspection has to be done by our beloved hero. Speaking of whom, Raul is an absolute darling and a complete gentleman (not being sarcastic). After all, he did aspire to be a hero! He was the saving grace of the anime. Wish we had more men like him in the real world instead of, you know, the pervs enjoying the “fan service” in this anime. Comparisons with Hatarakou Maou Sama (The De…

This.... this was just bad. Bland, unimaginative, with uninspired characters.... imagine if someone took "Wagnaria" or "Hataraki Maou-sama" and took all the humor and life out of it. It is a very depressing anime about how some people gave up on their dreams, failed to find their place in life, landed at odd job in retail stores, and then spent 12 episodes convincing themselves that this is how the things should be. Well, at least that's the way this anime feels. It is SUPPOSED to be a comedy about ex-hero and Daughter of ex-maou (i.e. "demon lord") working together in a retail store. However, it is not very fun, characters are bland, the world is not very interesting, there's some very awkwardly done and disruptive attempts of fan-service (the anime really loves boobs, but has no clue h…

I personally wont be saying anything here so lets get right into it Story: Raul is a hero who wanted to defeat the demon lord but before he even could cause he had too take a hero exam the demon was defeated so that means the world didn't need hero's and the academy was suspended indefinitely because of it so than 2 years later Raul ends up working in magic shop but also too his surprise a new employee comes who else the demon lord daughter but he though it was a guy but after undressing her (for a legit reason) it ends up being a girl and now only he knows and must keep that a secret from everyone else as well Art: art was very good nothing wrong with it as usual Sound: this was very good both the OP and the ED was really good Character: Now with this i only focus on main character so…

This must be the type of anime you can call: Cliche The begin was quite a good start, trainee heroes, destined to fight the demon lord and POOF, the demon lord is dead Now the hero works other job to support his own life but doesn't feels right because that's not what he wants, but when his friends ask, he just make that uncomfortable face like of he talks it out, he's gonna die Etc, etc, the story now develops to how he has to take care of the demon lord's daughter and deal with her and work his job as the same time because that girl is a pain in the ass And because she's the demon lord's daughter so she must have a great power that the other bad guys want to exploit and in the end, the hero will come and save her and bring her home and they live happily ever after For the character:…

-TL;DR REVIEWS- Tl;dr - This anime sucks. Don't bother watching it. Watch "Hataraku" instead. [STORY - 6] - The protagonist is a hero who has reluctantly become a simple cashier at Reon's due to the lack of necessity for heroes which stems from the defeat of the demon lord. Surprisingly~, the demon lord's heir soon joins the Reon's team and must adapt to generic human life. Rising action and the 'serious' tone begins at episode 8. I would give the story a 7 but I got extremely bored past episode 8 and had to deduct a point. [ART - 8] - Great animation, especially for being made in 2013. There's lots of fanservice, if you're into it. I personally did not add nor deduct points for the fanservice, because its irrelevant to the score of 8 in terms of great animation. [CHARACTERS - 5…

Yuusha ni Narenakatta Ore wa Shibushibu Shuushoku wo Ketsui Shimashita. or Yuushibu for short is by no stretch of the imagination a masterpiece. With that being said, it is also by no means without its merits. Yuushibu is fine; in fact, in places it’s even good. It plays to the strengths of its premise just enough to be considered fun, and that’s ok—allow me to explain why: The story of Yuushibu follows Raul Chaser: a would-be hero, if not for the fact that the Demon Lord has already been defeated. With his dreams crushed, and him in need of finding a way to make ends meet, Raul finds himself working for a magic shop, which is humorously setup to parody that of a modern day, Japanese electronics store. It is at this point that many people may draw a comparison with Hataraku Maou-sama! an…
