Tokyo Ghoul is about a young man caught between two worlds and losing control of his body. These picks keep the horror, the persecution or the identity split.
If you want another identity nightmare
These picks share the part of the original that matters most. Use the notes to choose the tone, length and setting you want next.
Parasyte -the maxim-
A body invasion, a partnership and a question about what makes someone human. It is more focused and more coherent.
Ajin: Demi-Human
Immortal beings, persecution and a protagonist who is hard to root for. It is more tactical and colder.
Devilman Crybaby
Demons, body horror and a bleak escalation. It is shorter, more explicit and more apocalyptic.
Hellsing Ultimate
Vampires, gore and a powerful antihero. It is more theatrical and less psychological.
Deadman Wonderland
A prison, strange powers and a fight for survival. It is more exploitation-focused and more uneven.
