This review will pretty much be the same as the actual series however difference is this was from menmas POV
My god how do I even begin this anime genuinely made me so emotional - seeing how menma was a ghost from the start and backtracking and finding out the history between her and junta and the rest of the group and how they each have regrets about how the fated day took place and ended was gripping - the final episode might be one of the best episodes I watched Ina. Really long time - the final game of hide and seek had me almost choking with tears and seeing the letters menma wrote to everyone was the cherry on top - the main gripe and probably the only problem I had was the the obsessive friend that also liked menma - genuinely aggravated me and found him to be pretty annoying and i…

Alright, so after the emotional knockout that was the Anohana series, I checked out the movie, and I gotta say—it was solid 8/10 material. It didn’t hit quite as hard as the anime, but it still brought all the feels.
The movie serves as both a recap and an epilogue, showing how the Super Peace Busters have been dealing with Menma’s passing a year later. While the recap parts felt a bit unnecessary at times (especially if you just finished the anime), the new content was what really made this worth watching. Seeing how each character had grown and moved forward with their lives was satisfying. It added an extra layer of closure that the series didn’t fully give.
The emotions were still raw, but this time, it wasn’t just about grief—it was about healing. The letters from Menma? Bruh, they…

I loved the Anohana series. It was amazing.
This movie was good. It had one glaring problem, it had almost 0 new content. If you have watched the show, you can legit skip this and go on.
I feel like they rushed the last episode and this movie was meant to be a replacement for the last episode cuz I also agree they rushed the last episode.
What I thought is that there would be completely new content in this movie.
This is basically retelling the last episode with extended scenes, and at least a quarter of the movie was recollections of past when menma was alive All in all it was alright albeit very boring for me.
Last episode I felt emotional and had tears.
This one? No since I knew what would happen.
I was a little confused as the scene I cried on was when they all gathered at the…

Well, well, well, it looks like we've got ourselves a real tearjerker here. Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai. Movie, or as I like to call it, The Movie Title So Long, It Needs A Breathalyzer Test Before You Say It, is an anime that's as heartwarming as it is tongue-twisting.
Now, I'm not going to give you a synopsis of the movie, because let's face it, the title alone is enough to make your head spin. But what I will tell you is that it's a touching story about friendship, loss, and the power of memories.
The animation is top-notch, with vibrant colors and detailed character designs that bring the story to life. The music is also a standout, providing an emotional backdrop to the alread…

This movie is mostly a a remix of Anohana with maybe 30 mins new content mostly spread around so you can't easily just skip all the reused scenes. This movie is terrible to watch immediately after finishing the series, give it a few months or even a year then watch it if at all.
The new content was fine, can't complain, more of the usual, tied off a couple threads but nothing worth suffering through 1hr of stuff you JUST finished watching.
Art was the same quality which is obviously shoddy for a movie but it is no surprise since otherwise the reused footage would look out of place.

Finished. 6/10
20:51. 09/11/2022.
This movie, while a nice retelling of the anime, doesn't really add much to the overall story of the original series.
Anohana ended on a good note, with no loose ends to look out for. However, this movie appears to be more on giving the characters a proper send off. But, in my own opinion, the series ended on a satisfying way, showing everyone the growth they had over the course of the episodes.
It's not bad in any way, but there is nothing remarkable about it. I'd only recommend it as something you should only watch after a few days or weeks of watching the original series.

I don't think the movie is bad... but I do think it's a bad idea to watch it right after finishing the show. It heavily uses recycled scenes, and even though it re-contextualizes them as flashbacks to a new story happening in the future, it still feels very much like you are watching large chunks of the anime a second time. I think the stuff that comes after and all the parts that take place in the future from the main series are good, but again it's a bit much to watch this back to back with the main show.
All that said it's still an emotional end cap to a great series. One of the brilliant parts of Anohana is that it wasn't too long. It managed to say what it wanted to say and not overstay its welcome. That's something a lot of anime seem to struggle with, being adapted from works that…

Well, I really like the anime, and I was very happy when I saw that it has a movie as well. Sadly it was kind of a disappointment for me, as I was expecting the story to be set in the far future, like our characters finished school, they are working, maybe have a family or something like that.
The biggest negative point for me is that most of the movie is just scenes we saw in the anime, but redrawn.
In my opinion the drawing was great, I really liked our characters redrawn.
In overall it was fine, but I excepted more.

Dont waste your time, this movie should not exist, you must have to see the anime because that show all you wanna see, in this movie you can even skip all the memories of the characters and all kind stuff and only see the final scene to cry a little bit and then cry again...
The movie results in just a copypaste of the anime scenes, i repeat, dont waste your time, just skip to the final scene and you dont lose anything

I went into this film excited to see an epilogue after the brief but emotional rollercoaster that was this series. What you actually get ends up feeling like a strange recap episode stretched over an hour and a half mixed in with new scenes.
To be fair, the new scenes are great; not only is it enjoyable to watch the original cast continue developing their relationships, but also included are new flashback scenes from their childhood that add more depth to those same relationships. However don't be mistaken, greater emphasis is placed on showing old scenes from the series, and the overall story beats follow the original anime and made it feel like a recap episode more than an epilogue.
I think the added scenes are actually pretty important to the story and sort of wish they were included…

Spoiler Free Review
After having watched both Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day and Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day The Movie, I feel like I have enough information to write this review. The intent of this review is for the movie, but it can also apply to the series as the two share the same story. Please note that everything I say in this review might not be correct as this is how I interpreted the Anohana series and movie. As mentioned above, I will make this a spoiler free review.
Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day The Movie is a retelling of the original Anohana series with more insights from the different characters. It doesn’t add new content, but rather allows us to see the sequences that happened on specific days from the series. The movie allows us to see the reasons an…

A very enjoyable and fitting add on to the main anime series. This wouldn't be the place to start as while it does cover a lot of the series in the movie a new viewer might be a tad lost of consider the whole movie rushed. Not only that but the series fully deserves the watch. I like how more of the group are given screen time and i feel like this movie really fleshed out the series with a nice send off and a even more satisfying ending, something that is increasingly rare in a lot of anime now a days.
The whole series and movie my not a masterpiece or have taken the world by storm but if you want a solid story with lots of feels then this is one really worth investing in. Watch the series first then watch this. Very enjoyable one I really enjoyed watching (minor spoiler!!!) here but see…

As a whole, the Anohana movie is generally the type of anime movie I wouldn't bother with. A good half of it is dedicated just to recapping the anime. And the little story it shares of the Super Peace Busters getting together to remember their friend-- showcasing both that they have stayed together like they promised and that they're continuing to cope more healthily than they were in the series itself-- is a very feel-good little plot... It just feels a little unnecessary. (We even see a little more development from all the characters in regards to their various romances, but even those aren't brought to any sort of definitive conclusion by this short addition to the story.)
So yes, as a whole, the Anohana movie is generally the type of anime movie I wouldn't bother with... But it did a…

This will be a short review because there's nothing really much to talk about this movie
Story: This movie is just a recap of the Anime series and Picture drama combined together with some added scenes and the perspective of each character for every recap of the episode, so it's like your watching the original series again but this time they're showing the perspective of each main characters and it feels like i'm watching an epilogue after the main story ended rather than watching a direct sequel.
Art: Nothings changed they used some clips from the Anime series and they animated the picture drama.
Sound: They used all the song and soundtracks used in both the Anime series and Picture drama.
Enjoyment: Fair enough if i say so. There are parts that hit me but most of the scenes are just…

Recently rewatched this movie so reviewing.
Nothing much to say in regards to the movie. It's a rushed version of the TV show, really, with some extra content. However it still brings the same emotions to me. Something about the soundtrack really makes me remember all those emotional moments in the TV series, so it's nice to hear those again in the movie. The story is good, but, as I said, rushed. If you're watching this right after you've watched the TV show, you will be disappointed. It's not a terrible experience if you do that, but it would be much more enjoyable to watch this a few months to a year after watching the TV show
Overall, I don't think this is a replacement for the TV series, despite its abundant reuse of scenes and retelling of the TV series, and would recommend watch t…

Maybe if you didn't watch the Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai series... this could be a great movie.
But if you did... this is just a recap. It's like 80% flashbacks of the anime series... and 20% new that add nothing more to the story.
It's really a shame, because I really loved the anime series, and when I saw this movie that takes place 1 year after, I thought I could see some development in the characters and story. I was wrong.

I believe this was just a money grabber, but maybe it could be wonderful if there wasn't for the all the scenes that we already seem.

It is just mainly telling you what happened in anime so it disappointed me.
If I am not wrong about 60% of the time it is reflashing anime scene and 20% of the time talking about them writing the letter for her... so there aren't much thing actually happened in the movie.
I personally suggest not to watch the movie right after finishing the anime. Watch it when you feel like remembering the tv series so it wont be so boring.
When I tapped into the movie I was expecting something like menma come back once again and all of them have a good talk with her or the life of 5 of them after menma left [although movie is the life of them but they didn't talk much about it so I am disappointed...]
Rating this 5 but doesn't mean it is not good...it is just disappointing me

I watched the movie immediately following the anime and found that it added a lot to other perspectives of other characters I felt was missing.
What I like about the series is that it's realistic. It doesn't hit you over the head in a direct way about feelings/motivations/thoughts. It's very Japanese in it's indirectness.
A lot of anime are quite unrealistic when it comes to characters blurting out everything which just doesn't happen in Japan. A lot of people are meant to "read one another's minds", which as we know doesn't really work- but it's so Japanese. Hence you have certain characters with unrequited feelings and issues.
The anime showed great contrast in their maturity since being children, but it didn't make them too mature. They're still a group of teenagers who have a lot to…

Short Version:
Watch this movie if you want, but you're really not missing out on much if you don't.
Long Version:
Nothing happens in this movie. At least, nothing that doesn't already happen in the main series. What's left unresolved at the end of the series is still unresolved at the end of the movie, so what's the point?
I say this, but to be fair, it's not ENTIRELY devoid of interesting and worthwhile moments. In fact, I actually really enjoyed most of the movie while I was watching it. The problem is that a lot of that enjoyment came from recapped scenes that are already in the series. The rest, however, did come from added scenes that gave context to some of those original ones and from some cool character moments outside of the recapping. I was particularly touched by the flashba…

I've watched the movie instanly after finish Ano Hana series... And it was a huge mistake.
This movie show us a different point of view, because all characters at least have a moment when their own thoughts are showed. I guess that's the movie's point, the narrator is not only Jintan, all other main characters have something new to give us to understand a bit more the whole series.
And... This give us a kind of decent ending to the series.
But... I wouldn't recommend to watch this movie instantly after finished the series.
The art is gorgeus, like in the series, main characters are a bit more developed. But I expepected more story development, because summary said it was one year after the end of series... If you like to watch the same story, but with a different point of view, this is…
