OK, B: The Beginning is exactly the sort of anime you start watching ‘just for one episode’… and then suddenly it’s 3 a.m. and you’re wondering what on earth just happened 😅
It’s a mix of crime, thriller, supernatural powers and conspiracy theories — in other words, a bit of everything all at once. And for the most part, it works, because the atmosphere is seriously gripping. You’ve got murders, mysteries, strange symbols, a guy who looks like a walking enigma (namely Koku), and a detective trying to make sense of it all.
The plot (or those ‘wait, what?’ moments)
The story is interesting, but… it can be a bit chaotic. You get the impression that the anime is trying to tell two different stories at once, one more crime-oriented, the other more fantasy-oriented, and they don’t always fit t…

It starts off as murder mystery-esque, however develops into something much more unique with brief commentary on faith and rationale. In all honesty though, come into this with the perspective that it's the type of story to gradually unravel until the eventual climax. The characters have a decent amount of complexity, some having more than those who play minor roles but there's a sense of context. Fights are pretty good in terms of animation as well as purpose, a little humor included also. Depending on how much anime you've seen, this might be a surprise hit or fall within the average detective show with a supernatural twist category. Just know though that if there some time to kill, consider starting the first episode and let it simmer a bit. Planning to watch the second season and would…

The story is unique; the main plot of this anime is love. Perfectly executed by the author, the plot, and the character, but the thing is, overall, it is a good show, but it lacks a description of some important elements (like how he got on the journey where he lives now; the villain will be introduced and have an unknown background), which makes it difficult for the viewer.
Story (7/10): unique surroundings and elements, like revenge, romance.
Character (7/10): surroundings character is like more dominant then the main protagonist and way cooler.
Artwork (7/10): well enough.
Voice-over (7/10): well enough.
Enjoyment: I enjoyed it, of the good show.

There are several motivations to watch this anime. First of all, this show takes risks that can never be seen in any anime. The main subject is really interesting. Furthermore, the main visions behind the main topic are not similar to other animes. The language that has been used is more lifelike, I assume. The second cause is the characters are very well-written. To give an example, the detective who is a ''real adult'' has real-life concerns. In animes, I like its association with the real world. Nevertheless, the story has superpowers too. However, it doesn't affect the fact that it is real. Lastly, the ending music is the best song I have ever heard in a while. Frankly, its meaning is better than most of the animes. Hence, I advise you to listen to it very hard. Taking everything into…

I’m giving this a 9/10 because I think the average score should be higher than it is currently.
For those that think the writing is “messy” and that the story lines “don’t connect”, I have to disagree with you. This story just takes a little more brain power to piece together. I personally find the complexity engaging.
The animation is great. The cinematic fight scenes are masterful. The characters are complex as is the story. I had no idea what was happening for the first 5 episodes and I was still completely engaged. This anime unravels its story in an unusual and insightful way. The writing always kept me guessing.
The only reason I didn’t give this anime a 10 is because of its pacing. I could have used a little more time to breath between plot points. But then again, I’m a sucker…

B: The Beginning is a Japanese anime series that blends elements of action, mystery, and thriller genres. The story follows Keith, a renowned detective who returns to his hometown of Cremona Island to solve a string of murders that are linked to an elusive serial killer known as "Killer B."
From the very first episode, I was captivated by the series' well-crafted plot and complex characters. The animation quality is impressive, with detailed character designs and vivid colors that add to the overall aesthetic of the show.
What sets B: The Beginning apart from other anime series is its ability to balance multiple genres while still maintaining a cohesive storyline. The show's blend of action, mystery, and thriller elements keeps the viewer engaged and guessing until the very end.
The cha…

I decided to write this review in 'mixed feeling', since I know somebody may like or don't like this anime. Somes may think it's not unique or boring someway, or may have nice plot and interesting.
While the anime' content not thrilled enough for me, its main plot + sub plot is great tbh, actually I love the plot twist. I was confused about the ending but then I realized that it also has season 2, so I am looking forward to it (a little bit tho) and hope that I could enjoy it more than the first season.
Overall, the character development is normal, animation + op&ed are kinda cool.

This review is for Part 1 of the anime, B: The Beginning.
Summary:
B: The Beginning is a crime and fantasy thriller anime initially released on Netflix. The story has two main plots intertwined in a rather convoluted way. First, we have Keith Flick, a mastermind detective, in a “cat and mouse” type chase of a serial killer with fantasy abilities. In addition, there’s another fantasy piece that involves another main character with mystical abilities searching for his memories and past lover. Overall, the story has some interesting characters, although they tend to be overshadowed by the intense plot. Part 1 is an enjoyable story, although it is challenging to follow at times. The art, music, some characters, and some unique pieces of the plot are fantastic; however, some of t…

I really have zero expectation towards this anime since not all people knew its existing.
BUT THE IMPORTANT PART WAS THIS STORY EXCEED ME, I binge this series so much. The character in this series is not stand out so much but I love how the story goes and the mystery of the MC power, there's a bit romance in it but don't hope too much since the genre is shounen. For the beginner to watch this series go ahead with it!!
What is happening inside this anime is something our brain can accept its not heavy to understand the power works, the plot. It was an easy anime, the pacing was fine not to slow, it was an adrenaline rush at the beginning since you can see the mc power at the first episode. OMG JUST GO WATCH THIS ANIME!!

Terrible name, seriously. This is a netflix ‘original’ funded anime, which should be an early warning sign of its quality.
This particular studio did a good job with animation and shot composition, but everything else is ametuer at best. The plot is one of those B-grade anime you dream up at 2am. Pun intended. B isn’t insultingly bad or anything; it’s just poorly written and has some weird pacing and transitions, especially shifting from the early phase into the meat of the show and then into the climax and ending. I’m gonna be blu…

his anime is a mix between Psycho Pass for the futuristic side, mystery and psychological, Zankyou no terror for the side uh I don’t know but you will see there are quite a lot of similarities and finally Zetsuen no tempest for the mythological approach, ancient writings ... So if you hated these three series, you might as well not watch B, but if you have seen and liked at least one of these three series then I strongly recommend it.
Beautiful and addictive are the first two words that come to mind after watching this new original netflix series.
Fortunately all the episodes are already there otherwise the rhythm would have been too jerky to allow such an immersion. From the first mystery and action episode are at the rendezvous and lots of questions cross your mind, without any answer o…

I have never had a bigger disappointment than when I watched B: the beginning.
I initially was exited to see it, the premise was promising, a somewhat supernatural mystery with a cool vigilante guy. In addition to the seemingly great fight scenes. However, this very quickly was dropped to focus an a half-assed story that had me checking every five minutes if I accidentally skipped to the second season. B: the beginning felt that a mystery means not letting the audience know anything about the world or the characters until the very end, having the reveal be incurably boring having me wish that they let me just imagine my own ending as any monkey with a keyboard can come up with a better one.
the show seemed like it couldn't decide to focus on the slightly better serial killer plot line o…

Hey.
1st my reviews consist spoiler free for people who haven't seen it and later with spoilers.
Long review because I felt like it.
Sorry?.

(Warning).
Don't watch second season!. I have heard bad things about it. The anime ends in 1st season well enough. If they wanna make a second season they should have made a longer 1st season.
I haven't seen 2nd season because I don't wanna ruin 1st season. But I might give it a chance maybe. But I don't recommend. Warning ended. (^_^)
This is one of these animes what you would might even look twice. It has decent amount of hints what is going to happen/what is happening but you don't know because you see it 1st time.
This reminded me series named "Mr.Robot" not an anime what has same style.
What you would go like "wow". Oka…

B: The Beginning is one of those Netflix produced original anime. It came out in 2018 and the studio behind it is Production IG. Yes, the studio behind Psycho Pass, Ghost in the Shell and some significantly less impressive works like Robotics; Notes & Blood+.
Story:
There's a mysterious super-powered vigilante going after violent criminals called B after the mark he leaves at the scene. Meanwhile, Detective Keith Flick returns to active duty to pursue B and a case from years ago that he isn't satisfied with the outcome of.
Let's start with the big narrative problem with this series. The two story lines are connected very tenuously. To the point where you have to question why they're part of the same series. You basically have two stories here. One is about these kids who were genetica…

I personally wasn't a big fan of the outer world aspect of the anime, it was slightly confusing, was hard to follow for me and seemed ill-placed when paired up with the more realistic kinda detective plot, which was really enjoyable for me. The characters were written well, and had great design though. I just think both the outer world and detective aspects would be better off being separate themes. But overall I believe the anime was pretty all right, all though I believe the ideas aren't that great paired together, I found the anime pretty interesting and had you on edge every episode. However I am new to anime so take from my review what you will, thank you!

First the story. Started off strong but as with most mysteries the more I watch of them the more the endings become unsatisfying. To me there's only so many different endings to these types of shows before they fail to one up another and 'blow my mind'. I liked how the story isn't what it seems like from the surface of what's going on. The relationship between the sleep detective Keith and Lily is done so well especially the trust that begins to build I think is pulled off well, Keith isn't over bearing he acts like how every adult does in real life honestly towards the end the maturity between them is handled well given the precarious situation they're in.
With animation I don't like it when they always animate the OP as a kid and yes this has more to do with the fact that most protagon…

I've never seen such a pretentious story and fail in developing on his point of view. The buffoonery of the villains and their all charaterisation is has to be one the worst I've seen, ever. That and the alleged "genius" definitely where a drew the line as far as character development . From that moment on i couldn't take the story line. I finished the whole series to see if I was wrong at some point and see if i could appreciate other angle and I found out that the animation is all that saves this anime from being and absolute dread.

a short review - b : the beginning (no spoilers)
The elements of this story may seem strange, on the one hand, there is a group of normal detectives, on the other, quirky-looking villains causing a stir in the city, and a very strange boy who has a relationship with a star.
This is an anime full of mysteries.
-who is the murderer b? Where does it come from and what is its name?
- where do they come from and what is the real goal of the villains? what kind of relationship does koku have with canopus?
but I think it's all these weird mixes things that make this story tick.

This looked promising, but turned out to be mediocre, time-wasting doodoo. I watched this, because I saw the synopsis and thought, why not, like fantasy anime with an OP protagonist. Then I regretted it. HOW do you make a fantasy/thriller boring??
When the protagonist showed up, I thought that this was gonna be similar to Tokyo Ghoul, and because I have a soft spot for Tokyo Ghoul, I thought that I'd at least enjoy this. Nope, this was BOOOORING. Every 2 episodes, I find myself going "Can you mOVE ON". The pacing was dreadful. Things that are supposed to be developed properly, such as THE MAIN CHARACTERS aren't. Instead, they slow scenes down for things you don't give a shit about and feel nothing for, and they try to give you context through flashbacks, which did not put any emotional w…

God, just where to start
This anime is both really bad and really splendid both really messy and assertive,
It gets you hooked up after about 3 or 4 episodes, however, it feels like forever trying to figure out what the heck is going on.
If you are both into mystery and supernatural genres, you're going to like this anime, if you're short-tempered and are more into shounen stuff, then you're probably going to be frustrated while watching the first episodes.
It actually did take me a while to rate this anime, even though i could've rated it about 5 or less, it's still one of the most animes that'll keep me intrigued and waiting impatiently for the next season.
The idea is not that type of an idea that you'd get while taking a dump or showering, it's so detailed that…
