Bleach the Movie: Memories of Nobody

Bleach the Movie: Memories of Nobody

Introduction

When a life ends, its soul departs to its final resting place known as the Soul Society. However, if a soul is left to wander in the human world for too long, it ends up turning into a corrupted "Hollow" that feeds on other souls. In such cases, spirits called "Soul Reapers" are needed to eliminate the Hollows and guide the lost souls to the Soul Society. Ichigo Kurosaki and Rukia Kuchiki are two Soul Reapers who are used to dealing with Hollows that appear in Karakura Town. But when they encounter the hostile "Blanks"—souls devoid of memories and immune to the "soul burial" used by Reapers—they are thrown for a loop. Senna, a fellow Reaper that neither Ichigo or Rukia are familiar with, comes to their rescue and manages to fend off the Blanks. The mystery deepens when a mirage of the human world suddenly appears over Soul Society. What could be the reason behind the strange phenomena, and how is it connected to Senna, who avoids any questions about her identity? [Written by MAL Rewrite]

This movie is of a higher quality than the typical Bleach episode. The positives include greater attention to details such as light, shadow, depth/shading, and airborne particles such as dust and leaves. Some scenes are marvelous works of animation. So, essentially, if Bleach is typically good or great, then this movie is good or great "plus one". I wouldn't consider it essential viewing. In fact it's made that way on purpose. You can watch this whenever you want so long as you know about Ichigo's bankai. The negatives here are mostly to do with a bit of missed potential. The movie's plot points align pretty strictly with the anime's usual tropes and story beats, which makes for easy (but a little sad) viewing. If you like Bleach, warts and all, then you'll enjoy this movie. Maybe not lo…

I'm pretty ashamed to say that as a Bleach super fan, I've only got around to watch this spectacular movie and I've come to question myself. This movie dropped at the peak of Bleach in terms of everything really. Writing, acting and the vibe of a simple story before the Hueco Mundo arc. Not to say that isn't cool in its own right but it made Bleach so flawed. Anyways, this movie is great. It actually is a lot emotional than I realised in the end. Senna is done so fantastic, giving her such a dope character arc with Ichigo and even the flashbacks of what appeared to be a human life. Unfortunately, the villains are completely forgettable and so are the fights. We can't really expect these guys to be captain level but I at least expected a dogfight. The slice of life nature of the movie in t…

A template movie version of a popular tv show. Even if you haven't seen the original Bleach anime, read the manga or even heard of Bleach, this movie does a good job of establishing the fundamentals of the Bleach world within its opening half and it's nothing too complicated. This is a non-canon self-contained story about a soul phenomenon that threatens the safety of the world and Ichigo must try his best to save it. The villains are a generic bunch of loser outcasts who want to destroy the world for no reason. They have no character and no beauty to speak of and a hero's story is only as good as his villains. Senna is a sympathetic young girl that the MC has to protect. She was somewhat of an interesting character as she basically questioned the other characters’ and the viewer’s definit…

Actual emotional bleach movie. I literally cried. It was so good. Cinna was actually an interesting character and it was just overall a really good film with some awesome fights. Like I smiling with my jaw dropped when kenpachi showed up. You should watch this film during the arrancar arc after you watch rukia's first fight with arrancer 6 (I won't say name to avoid spoilers lol) The artstyle and quality is always so good looking especially for 2006 Oh and the soundtrack is also lit. The character's personalities are also at their peak and I loved all the interactions in this film.

Memories of Nobody is the quintessential example of everything that’s wrong with non-canon shounen movies. Bleach’s worldbuilding is not exactly top tier to begin with, but that’s fine. It’s not that kind of story. I mean, there are no two ways about it. Tite Kubo’s ambition as a youth was to be a fashion designer. It’s not an accident that the element Bleach is best known for is its character design. The guy is a visual artist, first and foremost. Storytelling and worldbuilding are very much secondary skillsets. So far, in the canon, we’ve got the World of the Living, our world, Soul Society, the world of pure souls, Hueco Mundo, the world of corrupted souls, Hell, the world of sinful souls, and the Precipice, a sort of in-between world that separates it all. In principle, these are just…

This is the first Bleach movie and I must say it ended up being better than I expected. As far as movies go, you can of course expect far better production values and flashier battles. Yet it has something more than just an excuse for a parade of special attacks. It is by all means nothing more than a filler mission but it had a metaphysical aspect that went beyond the simple plot of “Let’s save Soul Society for the millionth time”. First of all, if you haven’t watched any episodes, stay away from the movie. You won’t understand the new twist to the cosmology of the setting without prior knowledge of the general story and cast. Plus, the action may mislead you, as it hardly gets so good in the series. Second, if you do know of the series and go for this movie, chances are you watch Bleac…

Bleach Movie 1 Memories of Nobody is a movie that you can watch immediately after the Soul Society arc in the Bleach manga and right after the Bount arc in the Bleach anime, being the first exposer to Rukia's Zanpakuto. It is the only Bleach movie that can fit into the main continuity without much trouble. The story is about the worlds about to be destroyed by the enemies called the DARK ONES. Some of the blandest antagonists you will see in Bleach and can be a total turn off for people that are interested in a well written antagonist with a deep backstory. However, they do have justification for what they do even if not the smallest effort was put for use to care about them. On the contrary we have Senna and the story is focusing on who she really is as she has Shinigami powers and a nam…

You know a series is making it big when you hear about movie releases, it's not easy to get a display on the big screen. The next step is looking at several movies that relate to said series and the first one usually gives off nostalgic vibes, even for the newer audience. Sadly, in Bleach's case, that couldn't be further than the truth. Story (6/10): As much as I hate to say it, this felt like a nicely animated filler arc that lacks an interesting plot, characters, and villains. This self-contained story introduces an interesting concept that deals with memories in the world of Bleach, and pretty much anything else felt like an excuse to justify saying; “hey, this thing exists, it can totally happen, and here's how it goes” that could have been easily a line that Urahara drops at some poi…

Way back in the early 00s when I was still in the early stages of getting into anime, three big battle anime started airing that everyone in the community was watching. There was Naruto, which I watched a few episodes of and stopped because I found the main character really annoying. There was One Piece, which I watched a bit of and stopped because the main character was really annoying. Then there was Bleach, which I actually watched all the way through. This was before I'd started doing reviews, mind. But yes, I watched all 366 episodes about Kurosaki Ichigo and his comrades. And whenever anyone brought up the old Bleach vs Naruto vs One Piece discussion, I always had to side with Bleach because it was the only one where I found the protagonist decent enough as a character to watch it.…

One of the first animated movies I watched. At the time I was pretty into Bleach by Tite Kubo and watched a couple of movies, but this one was probably my favourite out of all of them. I never really got into the anime, though I did watch quite a bit of it. I was more of a manga reader since I could control the pace that I went through the series. The anime was just too slow for my taste, but the movies are another story. I just really liked the style and overall mood of the movie, even if it's considered mediocre to other viewers. The later movies really lacked the direction of the first one in my opinion.

Reminds me of a fan-fiction. The characters were all oversimplified, the plot is nothing special and although the fight scenes were decent, I can't really take this movie seriously. Not a fan of this one In more detail: - The story was alright, but nothing to ride home about. It also seemed to me like the movie took no risks and played it safe. - Like I said, the characters are the biggest issue I have with the movie. All the characters were oversimplified and became caricatures of what they are in the original series, but Ichigo's personality in particular was reduced to him screaming "SENNA!" for an hour and a half straight. By the way, senna was generally acceptable -The soundtrack is a good as you would expect from bleach. It's one of the movie's few redeeming qualities. - The anim…

In typical Bleach fashion, you wouldn't know that this was on OVA movie and not part of the story line. Typical Ichigo and friend s meet a girl who has no memories of where she came from other than the fact that she was indeed a Shinigami, and like most things in Bleach, there was a catch. We find our friends in a situation dealing with yet another dark clan or what have you trying to destroy Soul Society because of a grudge they have been holding for hundreds of years and of course it falls on Kurosaki's lap like most things do in this series. Meeting of a new character to only have it in this movie was sort of disheartening since you like meeting new people especially ones that are so likeable, but beggars cant be choosers and you get what you're given.

Wait............What. This is better than the original storyline. Is what i caught myself thinking througout this movie. I never thougt in a million years that Bleach was going to make me feel anything other than adrenalin pumping throug my veins. To my suprise it made me feel moved by the acctual storyline. And the soundtrack ohhhh the soundtrack, dont even get me started on it, it was so awesome. The movie is acctually more brutal and tragic than the show. Like in the movie Ichigo cuts an arm of someone, with blood going everywere. I think that if the show went in the same direction as this movie it could have become so much better than it was. All in all if you like Bleach you have to watch this movie, it is just awesome.

Review 21: Bleach movie 1, Memories of nobody Once again one of the worlds favourite heroes is out to give us all a happy ending... Or is he??? We see in the beginning of the film, Ichigo and our side kick Rukia fighting, yet again, another hollow in a public park. with a slightly hilarious twist to say we've only just put the fiilm on it is quite comfortable and gives you the feeling of the earlier episodes of Bleach. Basically, the beginning of the film ends up with Ichigos body almost being taken away by the local ambulance service due to his stupideness, yet again... In the film we see a new type of departed souls, they go by the name of Blanks. And a new small team of bad guys who shouldn't be messed with. They all go by the name of the "dark ones" Not very inventive, I know but i…

This movie is better than the show itself, i'll start off with that. I would give Bleach itself a 7 or 7.5 but i gave this movie a 9. Why? Well, a lot of it is because of my enjoyment but there are other reasons as well. It's easily seen that they put alot more effort in this movie than they would in a regular episode. Senna, the main female in this movie, makes a amazing entrance. There are also other scenes where it's also very well done. Senna is also one of the best Bleach characters, ever. She is, in my opinion, levels ahead of Orihime and Rukia. Reasons being, she does things at her own pace without being annoying like Rukia and she isn't as timid as Orihime. The ending for the movie is very touching as well. I almost shed a tear or two. Aqua Timez plays Sen no Yoru wo Koete during t…

I had kind of given up on Bleach. I was bored one day, so I went to the library. I saw this was just sitting there. Since nothing else looked even remotely good, I checked it out. .... I want to start reading Bleach again. This movie was EXTREMELY good! The plot, the character "Senna", everything! I'm not exactly amazing with words, but I wanted to say- this is just a really good movie, I definatly reccomend you check it out.

When i first began to watch Bleach: Memories of Nobody i quickly became distracted and was unable to watch it , but recently i found the spark to watch watch it. At first glance you would expect the usual Bleach fare, and your not far from the truth. However it does succeed in introducing a new character that shows excellent design, and that character is Senna. Without revealing too much she is a shinigami currently located in the human world. It is a shame though that she is still basically a filler character, because her character would've made a welcome addition to the main storyline. I found that the plot of the story was well written, and easy to follow, and the action scenes were beautifully animated. I did find that the main antagonists were very generic and easily forgettable, whil…

I found myself heavily critiquing this movie the whole way through. I enjoyed the plot, even though it was predictable. It kept me hooked enough to want to finish the movie. My main issue was the fact that the characters involved seemed to be lacking substance. I feel like some of the characters were just thrown in there just because they've been in the series and not because they had any relevance to the chain of events in the story. Other characters just didn't have enough of a role for them to stick out in my mind. Granted the movie is about 01:40ish long, I think the characters could have been better portrayed. The music wasn't bad--although I would leave out that song that talks about being the center of attraction--I just think the vibe clashes with the action going on, it seems…

I was impressed. Even though most of the supporting (and some main) characters didn't play big parts in the movie or weren't there at all, I must say that I enjoyed it. The story was very thought provoking and very emotion-stirring. I'd only recommend this to people who are fairly familiar with the anime series though, otherwise you'll be completely lost.

Memories of an Irrelevant Movie If you're a fan of the bleach series, this movie plays like an extended episode. For this reviewer, therein lies the problem. While this movie is to the untrained eye mediocre, I find it to be tacked-on. At the end of this movie the story has progressed no more than where it started. In fact it may have regressed, leaving more questions than answers, questions that surely will never be brought up again in the series. I am certain that no facet of this movie will even be mentioned by any primary, secondary, or even one of the huge numbers of 2D characters made up on the spot by the creators when they are needed to fill a plot-hole. The nail in this coffin is the fact that in the end of the movie, this is ensured. This movie is a morbid waste of time if yo…
