I have an extremely low bar for boys love but this anime completely ignores that bar and burrows all the way down to hell whilst wearing a pretty bow as if it makes it any better (it doesn't). I like the cute moe art style and the general unsettlingly aura but that's a about it.
Never looking at soft serve the same way again. This is not boys love or even hentai, this is a psychological horror for any viewer.

The story is the most f*cked up thing you will ever see, it is basically a guy grooming a young kid and having sex with him.

Honestly, of all the shock videos from when I was in high school, this is one of the mildest. I genuinely believe that a lot of the criticism this anime receives is based on the homophobia so prevalent among otakus, rather than justifiable things like the age gap between the main couple, the simplistic dialogue, or the basic composition. It doesn't stand out in any particular way other than how infamous it is, but I'm sure there are worse things out there.

I wish I wasn't forced to watch this when I was underage....IT WAS WEIRD AND I HATE THAT IT EXISTS.
The anime has very pedophillic themes, and the plot is lowkey nonexistent. Its not even a good love story, its just terrible. The animation was okay, but it was hard to watch. The older was just preying on Pico the whole time and grooming him, and poor Pico had to endure it....The logic used in the anime to justify the plot was so stupid, too many excuses just to make the weird sex scenes happen.
I seriously do not reccomend you watch this.

This is one of the deepest anime I’ve ever seen. I’ve only given four anime a 10/10, and this is one of them. You have to be smart to really get it.
While many people see it as a troll anime, I see it as a story about finding one’s soul and connection in a meaningless world, with themes of betrayal, jealousy, depersonalization, and surrealism.
Every frame is drenched in symbolism. The ice cream is a symbol of fleeting innocence and the tower scene represents the endless cycle of desire and detachment from reality. The moment Pico cuts his hair, one of the best scenes in anime history, shows rebellion, transformation and identity struggle.
The art style is insane. I can’t believe this is a 2006 anime because it looks better than most animes today.

so, here I'm writing my first review in MAL and it's for nothing other than Boku no pico, why?
I was a victim of grooming and therefore I'll take this with seriousness and show my pov of how something vaguely similar I've been trough made me react to this differently. I watched this for the first time at around 14 yo, and I liked it, and rewatched it many times. This showed how grooming works in such a realistic manner, without a third interfeering that my younger self couldn't pinpoint that this was extremely worng (altough I would have never wanted to be the "chaser") it was just a matter of: this kinda looks like my relationship with x, cool, I have something relatable.

Okay the art they put into this is amazing and the sounds, voice actors always makes things so realistic. The story I found it more realistic nature side having a grandfather lets his grandson wounder about with an adult guy made me at unease. I did find it enjoying on a art scale but the reality of it, it could happen anywhere it kinda made me at ill, I know they not aiming for child porngraphy but I can't help thinking this kinda making me off watching it. This isn't a romance Ova but in my case I don't think I could watch it again.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? As a show this is terrible. Not just because it's a creepshow of an underage boy being taken advantage of by a very much grown man, but because the relationship between them has no redeeming qualities. I've known men who had their first experience with a grown man as a child who took on a mentor/student relationship where the sex was incidental. While not right, there's still something to take away from that which puts it more in the moral gray. This isn't that. This is an entirely one-sided relationship where a man takes what he wants when he wants and has no regard for the person he's taking advantage of. Definitely trash.

Boku no Pico as an artistic expression i understand. However I have not been more disturbed or shocked watching any other anime up to this point. The only way I could ever recommend this anime is if you are truly a sick and twisted individual. There is truly no story at all other than they fall in love (if we can call it that). The best character in this is Grandpa and we see him for maybe a minute total.
Going into the sequel I hope that the plot thickens and we see more the characters develop into themselves and explore who they are a bit more.
Disappointed I went out of my way to find and watch this.

Characters are just blocks of tofu at this point.

It was too easy to make fun of. The scenery was nice.

Now I wouldn't even reccomend this anime to those who seek "these things" because it's not even good if I were to ignore "those things". This was recommended to me as a joke and I unknowingly took part in the viewing of this modern masterpiece. Never in my life have I seen a work of media so repulsive in nature. I only made it 2 minutes into this complete and utter hellhole before I was forced to disable my monitor and cry in my sorrow.
Now that I have made my opinion on this piece of horse shit very clear; Boku no Pico was animated quite well. I will admit that I enjoyed the landscape scenery in the first few seconds before the "main content" began.
3/10 Definitely would no recommend at all please do not watch.

Busted hard, very good. The truck scene was Shakespeare level of story telling. I recommend this for watching "with the bois." I cried due to the amazing orgasm and the story telling as well...which lived up to the hype. The show deserves no less than a 9/10. The pacing of the story was fantastic and I love the character "growth" (wink wink) as the episodes passed by. The art style is amazing...it feels like I was really there. It feels so immersive especially with all the sound effects, showcasing the talent of the sound designers. This is anime of the century, and easily one of the best piece of fiction in history.

Now hear me out this show is clearly a 10/10 masterpiece and any1 who tells you otherwise is lying.
Now lets start with the story, the most important part. Watching this is like you're riding a brand new roller coaster, but before you got on everybody put in a massive plug, and then the roller coaster got stuck midway through. Thats pretty much it. Shota and Shotacon could make for a vary good show but this misses every target it aims for. Its Shota in its most basic form, it has no ambition and does nothing for the Shota sub genre. the characters exist to have sex and nothing else. the plot exists to get from one sex scene to the next. and the art ranges from Mediocre to Bland.
the worst parts are the Fetish scenes, there often slow and always go on far too long and kill any pacing Pico might of had, they go on for so long that they start to become uncomfortable to watch.
