Date A Live

Introduction

Thirty years ago, the Eurasian continent was devastated by a supermassive "spatial quake"—a phenomenon involving space vibrations of unknown origin—resulting in the deaths of over 150 million people. Since then, these quakes have been plaguing the world intermittently, albeit on a lighter scale. Shidou Itsuka is a seemingly average high school student who lives with his younger sister, Kotori. When an imminent spatial quake threatens the safety of Tengu City, he rushes to save her, only to be caught in the resulting eruption. He discovers a mysterious girl at its source, who is revealed to be a "Spirit," an otherworldly entity whose appearance triggers a spatial quake. Soon after, he becomes embroiled in a skirmish between the girl and the Anti-Spirit Team, a ruthless strike force with the goal of annihilating Spirits. However, there is a third party that believes in saving the spirits: "Ratatoskr," which surprisingly is commanded by Shidou's little sister! Kotori forcibly recruits Shidou after the clash, presenting to him an alternative method of dealing with the danger posed by the Spirits—make them fall in love with him. Now, the fate of the world rests on his dating prowess, as he seeks out Spirits in order to charm them. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

We definitly should get more of the crew. I absolutly love the anome and i would beg for it to get onto new content. I fogot how good this one is. The react really realistic. Ok enough with the guidelins ! The characters god really good snycros. not only in japanese, also in English & German. How Tokori cares about her bigger brother is really hartwarming. Kurumi, the devil of time, is a characzer. Her play back track telles the story of her life. The other girls, without any spoilers, got thier own unique tracks, characteristics and story telling. The hard work of the studio is represented by an anime on a silver tablet. Come on. We know that we saw a good anime when we a get a feeling of a black hole and emptiness in our body after finishing the last empisode that calls us back into…

Overall, this season feels half-baked. For the first sevenish episodes, it sticks to a plot very loosely and follows a formula of boobs and explosions, as many say. It isn't until the second half, closer to the end, where it actually starts to fill with a coherent narrative and the characters actually exhibit some depth. Unfortunately, it leaves the plot and character development for the next season. It is frustrating, to say the least, to watch this show finally have substance, then push it off. Though the execution of such is inconsistent and often subpar, the thematic elements are very clearly present! Again, it is just frustrating that these themes and deeper characterization are at the end of the season, because it makes the first 7 or so episodes feel lackluster. BUT! It does make me…

This will always have a special place in my heart, and honestly, I get why it’s one of your favorites. I first watched it back in 2016, and then again this year all because a friend casually mentioned that there was a fourth season and I nearly lost my mind xdd. For me, this anime wasn’t just another show. It was the first one that really pulled me into the world of anime. The one that made me want to watch more and more, explore new genres, discover new stories, and fall in love with characters in the most chaotic way possible. And even after all this time, it’s still one of the few anime I genuinely, consistently enjoy. The mix of romance, comedy, supernatural elements, and all the wild plot twists just hits differently. The characters are memorable, the story is fun, and the whole vibe…

This is a review of the 5 seasons that had been released as of the time of writing. There will be no major spoilers in this review. This series is a "parody" in the typical anime way of being a mostly faithful recreation with a bit more goofiness and winking at the camera every so often. In the first few seasons the narrator will implicitly joke about the premise with statements like "these girls can only be stopped through extreme military force, or by falling in love and KISSING a man" (I'm paraphrasing here). After that though it's pretty much just a flat recreation of any other harem show. I'm extremely ambivalent about this show since its quality varies very widely. At some points it's great, even bordering on fantastic, while during other points it falls below tedious and becomes…

When I first started this anime, I thought that this was an immediate drop because of how they sexualize the girls in the show a lot and it felt like one of those generic harem anime's where the mc is all shy and nervous but pulls all the girls. However, bc I like fight scenes, I continued watching the anime (ngl those fight scenes were pretty good for it's time). However, my perspective changed a bit, as I realized this anime was more trying to funny (and I personally did find it funny) than rather serious. Overall, I recommend this to those who find the anime funny or for some reason just like watching a mc pull all the girls. If not this show is a flop. First Review btw, hope you take my advice into consideration. Edit: Also, I dunno why I gave this anime a 9/10, it literally was…

Overall review: As a whole from S1 to S5 (not including ova, or non-canon movies) the show is magnificent, and definitely worth a watch. Especially if you are into harems, romance, and fighting-related anime then I can highly recommend this to you. I will provide pros and cons below and some quick notes about the series if you are looking to explore it further. Strengths of 'Date A Live': - Heavy amounts of harem; as the protagonists' surrounds himself with girls which is one of the primary aspects of the show from Seasons 1 through 5. - Above Average Character writing; each character is very much "their own person" and has specific quirks, and aspects which make them their own. - Decently Fast Paced; as the show continues, the pacing tends to speed up (slowing down when necessary), so…

Brief overview: A harem series that is worth a watch. Slow start, but gets better over time. I'll be compiling all the seasons in this review. 8/10 for the whole series. Story 8/10 The story sets in a world where a mysterious being is called spirits. Those spirits possessed immense power that has the ability to destroy the world. However, the main protagonist has the ability to seal those power, but at a condition to kiss those spirits and make them fell in love with him at the same time. Therefore, that is why is called date a live because to save the world he has to date them and at the same time he is at the risk of being killed by those spirits. Characters 8/10 The characters in this series is quite good. At the start it looks and feels like a bunch of generic characters. However,…

After watching the first season of this show, I can understand why it's popular and I can recommend it, but this show won't appeal to everyone, it's clearly aimed at viewers who already enjoy romcom/harem. I'll try to explain down below the pros and cons of this anime, this review won't contain any spoiler. The pros : + The animation is good, there are a few fighting scenes that are dynamic, and the quality felt consistent throughout the whole season. + The "offbeat humour" works pretty well. I mean, don't expect something like Gintama's comedy, but there are many funny jokes here and there that that are refreshing. Not every joke is original of course, but it's better than the average regarding the romcom/harem standards. + The lore regarding the events depicted in this season is…

If you are here, It means two things 1) You watched that "Suki Suki Dai Suki KekkonShiyou MY HONEY" edit of Kurumi 2) You saw the harem and ecchi tag and rushed to check what this anime has to give Either way, this anime is about a bunch of hot ladies called spirits whose appearance causes a black hole bigger than those of your average school hoe to appear and annihilate everything in its way towards total DESTRUCTION. DESTRUCTION of property, DESTRUCTION of mankind, and DESTRUCTION of your brain cells that is If you decide to stay up till 3 AM in the morning trying to binge-watch this anime like me. Now these hot ladies are available in a variety of shapes, sizes, and even brands. We got that dumb troup, a loli, a tsundere witch who can change her body size, twins, a red mafia lady who c…

Nonsensical at first glance anime. A lot of fanservice. MC is somewhat normal which helps a little to ease into the story. Everyone else looks like a psycho when you compare them to the protagonist. Took me at least three tries to watch it to get past second episode. From the beginning It looks like there is no plot. Just battles, "cool" stuff and boobs. It looks like mish-mash from bunch of genres, jarring for my taste. Too much seemingly unmotivated actions without any explanation. Story does kinda make sense the more you watch it but the core concept is not that good (harem builder) and you need to wait too much to get to the point when author starts giving hints at what exactly you are observing and the idea behind all of this. And while it is kinda fun to gradually piece together wh…

Part 1 English Part 2 Bahasa Indonesia -------------------------------------- he anime that's like a romantic comedy mixed with a dash of sci-fi and a sprinkle of supernatural. And let me tell you, it's a ride that's almost as wild as my final task. The animation is decent, nothing to write home about, but it gets the job done. I'll give it a solid 7/10, like a mediocre Tinder date. Now, the character development is there, but it's not exactly groundbreaking. It's like watching a teenager go through puberty - it's awkward, but you know it's necessary. So, a 7/10 for that. The story is where this anime shines. It's like a rollercoaster of emotions, with twists and turns that'll make your head spin. I'll give it an 8/10, like a good cup of coffee. The art style is impressive. It's like…

Date a Live. What a classic, right? This show started airing so long ago. But then, it got another season... and then another... and another... so people liked it, it seems! And so I wanted to watch it, curious as I was. Now, I'd like to believe that one of my talents as a viewer is to mildly discern whether a show will be good or bad just from its tags and the poster art. Needless to say, I didn't have my hopes up for this show, though surely, it could still be worth a try? No. No it wasn't, lol. Date A Live is a particularly silly harem anime, that tries to awkwardly mix comedy with drama but fails in pretty much both. A show clearly aimed for younger audiences, yet one I kept watching nonetheless for the sole purpose of giving it a proper review and an honest rating. Mind the mild spo…

Date a live "let's start our date" So a question to you reader! Do you think dates are sweet at the very start? do you expect anything good on the first date? it's the same as implanting seeds in the soil it's painful work in order to harvest something, So when it come to date a live you need to keep watching till you get to smell the beautiful scent and to enjoy the tasty fruit. While season 1 date a live make the viewer wanting to drop the anime? it's still pointing at Bright future with very few and short non-understandable scenes, the anime might be developing slowly but Dates doesn't bear fruit in 1day, Note that Date A live is a 5x seasons of anime. despite the general idea of "oh no it's another harem anime" it's not even close to be considered as that, there was a reason behind e…

What score would I give this? I would say a 6. Like, its ok. Pretty much a slice of life anime with comedy, and hentai which is basically it. Oh theres more, it even has a form that can be activated by kissing a guy. Weird flex but ok. Nothing much to say, I really think this is a fine anime to watch. I would probably give this a similar score to the second season hell even a third season if I have the time for myself to experience those. Its based on personal opinions not yours, so pls don’t get offended and skip what I said.

Date A Live, first appears to be another bizarre series where the male protagonist gets himself dragged into a lot more trouble than he should be in, mainly in romance and a harem. While this show is a harem/romance, it's got a lot more twist than there should be. Here I am, explaining why you should watch this show, and how it's good and not cliche compared to other harem/Mecha anime. First of all, the premise itself is wild. For something that's adapted in 2013, you know it's something that started the trend of this bizarre concept of "date to progress the story". It's bizarre, it's comedic, and it's funny how it all works out, because haha funny plot armor. Secondly, the mechs in this anime aren't weird CGI or more cliche giant robots. They're more of battle suits mixed with small devi…

Yeah, as many others said, it is the average harem anime with a blunt main character. Story: 2 It has a very, very thin story, spirit girls appear mostly in Japan and when they do, they create massive explosions that kill millions apparently, at the beginning of season 1 it is said, that thirty years ago 150 million people died in a massive explosion that could be seen from orbit even. All that has zero impact on the characters, on the world or anything else, except that all people run to bunkers once a siren rings an alarm. The main character is the average cliché male harem MC, decision-making that makes you want to choke him through your screen or at least scream at him, no personality and mediocre character development along the series. He out of some reason has the ability to seal…

This anime is a definition of trash... but not really Funny but cringe, entertaining but weird, beautiful but hideous If you were a serious anime watcher that really takes on the point of the plot, writing, pacing and character development, consider to dropping it off There are many plot holes and weird pacing at times which might put you off But If you are just a "casual anime enjoyer" then this works for you. This is pretty enjoyable besides the chaos of the writing on this anime Based on the genre, i'd say this is more or less 40% romance and 60% of the action So overall... 7/10, borderline between "good" and "bad" in my definition

I'mma be real with this but it really gave me the opportunity to give an insight to why some anime's like this back then really shine for me in a way that it really is a great show, to a little extent.... For the story its a 7 because its too generic for me because of the harem trope that gives so much fun and excitement (even though its not really a typical harem just like High School Dxd and some) (just for my view) but it was good overall and I like it because it feels nostalgic and refreshing that I get to explore more anime back then for the art its really good back then, but i'mma see if what season 4 could bring and hopefully me watching this at this year might make me hook up to love the series even more for the character development i'd say its like what happened to Sword Art O…

I didn't go into Date a Live with much expectations or even interest. However, I walked away from it all rather impressed. The story won’t be winning any awards for being some complex narrative. The premise is completely absurd, as is the idea of a kid being a ship captain. But the show does its absolute best with its premise and when it’s played straight, things can get intense. I like how the two main girls’ story finished with no loose ends, showing it’s committed to good storytelling. The action scenes are impressive, and I like to see the mecha musume of the AST squad. I think that my favorite character was Tohka, she’s kind of dumb but she’s sweet and very earnest about everything that she wants to do. Also, I appreciated some of the comedy scenes and cracked up a bit. I can’t say…
