The World God Only Knows

The World God Only Knows

Introduction

Keima Katsuragi, known online as the legendary "God of Conquest," can conquer any girl's heart—in dating sim games, at least. In reality, he opts for the two-dimensional world of gaming over real life because he is an unhealthily obsessed otaku of galge games (a type of Japanese video game centered on interactions with attractive girls). When he arrogantly accepts an anonymous offer to prove his supremacy at dating sim games, Keima is misled into aiding a naive and impish demon from hell named Elucia "Elsie" de Lute Ima with her mission: retrieving runaway evil spirits who have escaped from hell and scattered themselves throughout the human world. Keima discovers that the only way to capture these spirits is to conquer what he hates the most: the unpredictable hearts of three-dimensional girls! Shackled to Elsie via a deadly collar, Keima now has his title of "God of Conquest" put to the ultimate test as he is forced to navigate through the hearts of a multitude of real-life girls. "I can see the ending." Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai feels very "anime" in the best way possible, the overall story seems relatively simple and it's filled with tons of tropes that should in theory make it feel generic... yet it feels the complete opposite to that thanks to how intentional and well timed everything seems to be, it knows what it is and plays into it perfectly while holding some real dept underneath the interactions with, again, relatively simple/cliche characters. It is such a curious feeling when you notice how most of the tropes seem like they are actually fitting into "real" situations with "real" people. Almost like its showing itself as just another dating game Kami has to beat, yet holding real backstory and meaning to each of the "conquests" which doesn't always leave…

I've postponed the viewing of this show long enough. And how foolish i was to do so. Honestly, i didn't have much to expect from this show,so i was really pleased with what it offered me. Now this isn't some masterpiece or anything... I mean the story is quite simple... But even in it's simplicity, the anime managed to squeeze all the worth out of it. Never a dull moment, even when this show has 0 action. Usually with these you'd feel your feet dragged to some extent, but not here. Now entering into details... The animation isn't anything wow, but it's good enough and it really does it's job. The visual messaging in alot of these episodes is pretty good as well, especially in the librarian arc (my favourite girl tbh). The choice of making episodic encounters while the girls already conquered…

Brief overview: MUST-WATCH It's about retrieving souls that have escaped from hell. Each of those souls has now possessed a girl's body therefore to capture that soul the protagonist needs to make those girls fall for him and kiss them at the same time to draw the soul out. This review will be based on the whole series. 10/10 for the whole series. Introduction Keima is a high school student who has loved visual novel dating games his whole life. He is an introvert and never likes making friends however his obsession with visual novel dating games has gone to another level where he will even play those games during class time. One day he received a mysterious message from his game console where he asked if he could make all sorts of girls fall for him. He then carelessly accepts the req…

Keima Katsuragi aka the legendary "God of Conquest" can conquer the heart of any girl...in a video game. Through circumstances he is called upon by the demon world to capture loose souls now residing in girls' hearts. But just because Keima can charm any girl in a video game doesn't mean these skills will be useful when it comes to charming girls in the real world....Well actually it can. Keima is actually a very charming young man when he sets his mind to it. And just isn't interested in real-world girls by choice. He is just as skillful in real life as he is in game. I like how Keima is written. Im glad they didn't make him some dumb cliche desperate loser otaku with no charm. He is a person who is actually smart, and competent for the job even though he agreed to it by accident. A goo…

Do you know what hides behind those anime avatars? Narcissism. Such is the condition of many otaku. Our hero is a bona fide galge expert, to the exclusion of anything except his newfound demon friend he doesn't care about. The hero spends his days slamming the buttons of a handheld called a PFP, styled after the PSP Go N1000, a system not known for eroge outside of the homebrew scene. That means our boy probably plays galge without even the enticement of anime tiddy. When I was in high school, I played Doukyuusei 2 on ZSNES. I played dating sims without the tiddy. I was a narcissist. If I were a true connoisseur, I surely would have explored the genre's vast benippled history, from the landmark PC-98 games of Alice Soft to the early modern classics of Clockup, and maybe some Illusion tit…

Recommendation: An interesting premise goes to waste. You can safely skip it even if it looks intriguing to you on paper. What a disappointment. Stripped to the essentials, the plot seems promising. A gamer that can beat any dating sim has to use his skills to make women fall for him IRL. All I can say about that is that the plot really does not exist. Each main girl is conquered in sequence over the course of 2 episodes and is then never seen again in the story, with no continuity between any of the sections. It reminds me of a bad VN adaptation from the early 00s, where they would adapt one route over the course of 2-3 episodes and then simply move on to the next route without explanation, even if it retconned events from the previous route. It makes the whole thing feel... weightless I…

This one I just found really boring. Like it seems to me to be pretty much the same thing every episode, not really much happened. I didn't really care for any of the characters so it didn't really have anything going for it in my opinion. In terms of quality, id give it a 4 because it still looked pretty good and I'm sure the characters were interesting for someone just not me. In terms of me liking it id give it a 2 because it's just boring and I didn't really care about any of the characters, and that's about it.

This one felt odd to rate so high. Not that it's a bad anime or anything, it just doesn't have the typical blueprint for a top rated show. I realize I'm in the minority here, so when I rated this I tried to see it from all sides. Yes "the World God Only Knows" or "Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai" is a comedy in it's basic form and honestly I looked at it that way the entire season, just something fun and quirky to watch. As I watched through season 2 though, I realized I had missed something critical about the nature of the show, thus I ran into a dilemma of how I should perceive the show as a whole. God Only Knows is pretty basic in it's concept: Katsuragi, a high school gamer and "god of dating sims" as his followers call him, gets quite a following online due to his consistent reviews and tho…

when i was perusing for new shows to watch on this website, i came across this anime called kami nomi zo shiru sekai. i was fascinated and taken aback because I too stay ion my room and date 2d women. however, after viewing, this show is downright despicalbe. this show has 0 character developlment. mc is pathetic and needs to get his genitalia moist. main female protagonist is useless and adds 0 substance to the storiyline. every character combined has <30 iq. show is boring, lacks narrative, and 99% of each episode is completely sikippable. probably the most forgettable plotline out of anything ive ever watched. dog show don't watch 0/10

The World God Only Knows. How best to describe such a title. Completely questionable, bizarre, and yet somehow entertaining. It was probably an attempt to create a somewhat individual and novel harem. And this attempt was successful. This work is just like every harem title before and after it. Only with the difference that the implementation and the concept were adorned with crazy ideas. The protagonist Katsuragi must conquer the hearts of the girls in order to drive demons out of them. The scheme of this anime is also very simple. One short story after another follows. They take between 3 to 5 episodes per girl. Most of the girls are real stereo-type characters that correspond to every possible cliché. On the other hand, this was also the basic idea behind it, since this monotonous a…

Started off promising but half way though it kind off gave up and started to feel like filler Nothing wrong nor outstanding with most things the main problem is that there not much story development and characters seem to be an one tine thing I thoughly enjoyed the first half and had a lot of potential Still will watch the sequels at some point There's nothing that stands out with the main character except that he is a extreme introvert and focus on this too much... when they should focus on how this occurrence affects him and should have started to change about him

Fun af The show's plot on paper might not be to your liking, but giving this show a shot may change your perspective. The show's concept is pretty good but not amazing, it's considered harem but not really. The show offers ton of events that may be predictable in a sense but still exciting. The comedic structure is also good same with the unique heroines the show has to offer. Although one small disappointment the show had was exaggerated scenes which threw the natural vibe off. The individual characters are also pretty unique in their own way. Main character is cool and all considering he's the main character, Sidekick is simply a cute imouto that knows her basic chores, and others that may cause spoilers if mentioned. Overall the show may not be phenomenal, it still gives exciteme…

Alright, I've completed the first season of The World God Only Knows and what a journey it was. I hated it. Here's why. Story 1/10 Quite frankly the story, if you can call it that, the doomed from the start due to the premise of the show right from the beginning. Nothing ever matters in the show since all the girls Keima "conquests" forget he ever existed. One could argue that this is convenient or even good thing since things would get messy very quickly if the number of girls who like him increase, but truly it's simply a cop out that is necessary due to the horrible premise. Art 6/10 The art is fine and I have no complaints about it but it obviously isn't enough to carry the show. Sound/music 6/10 I didn't dislike the music. There were even times I felt some of the music was being wa…

Story: 9/10. The fate of the world depends on our hero, Keima Katsuragi. He's extremely intelligent and extremely proficient at dating sims. This allows him to seduce girls in an unnervingly efficient manner to save the world. Art: 8/10 pretty great. Sound: ?/10 probably good, what am I, a sound critic? Characters: 9/10 Keima Katsuragi doesn't really give a fuck about anything other than games. His sidekick is pretty cool. The girls are eh. Enjoyment: surprisingly fun. Gayness of the main character (and therefore what I base my entire score upon): 9/10. Basically, Keima is just straight enough to know how to seduce a whole shitton of women, who promptly forget about it after they kiss, but never mind that because he's gonna be flooded by pussy in the sequel which involves him re-seduc…

I don't know if the Dub for this anime was just plain bad but it just left me flat. I have the next two seasons and I can't find myself being bothered to watch them. The initial premise strains suspension of disbelief. You literally have to work to not think about the situation that drives the story. It's like a toothache, you know if you probe it, it will hurt but you just can't stop. You just can't help but ask "What's in this deal for him". If you think the obvious answer is a compelling answer you should never negotiate for yourself. The show is episodic with an overall arc, which is nowhere near resolved in the first season. The episodes are composed along the lines of the equivalent of romantic word problems. Main character has to win the heart of girl with quirk. It's the kind of…

in my opinion this anime is very good for refreshing because it is very funny, even though it is not suitable for children because there are vulgar scenes. Even so, this anime is mandatory for moe and eroge fans. In the previous seasons, this anime managed to separate itself from the usual Harem genre anime by presenting the girls' romance sessions in the form of missions, each of which was completed, everything about one girl did not have to overlap with other girls, and this produced a collection of stories short but dense and effective. So, because now it requires Keima to seduce the girls again from the beginning, this season feels like a cheap trick that destroys all the advantages of this anime. However, that being said, at the same time, Keima's need to conquer six to seven girls at…

This anime is the ideal of extreme game addiction and harem consolidated together. An anime where you can sit down, relax, and enjoy it for a significant amount of time due of it having many seasons. Furthermore, it is also an anime where gamers as I can relate with. Story : 10/10 Keima Katsuragi the legendary online dating-simulator game beater, "God Of Conquest" that chooses to pick the 2D world instead of reality, is an Otaku obsessed with games with attractive girls. One day, he haughty accepted an offer through his gmail regarding to prove that he is the supreme of dating-sims. But it went out wrong, and it lead to him helping a demon girl named "Elsie" to retrieve runaway spirits escaped from hell that scattered themselves throughout human world. In order to do so, he has to co…

The World God Only Knows is a light comedy/romance about an otaku who plays galge games nonstop. Keima is your average protagonist. He's a young kid that plays galge games compulsively and rejects the real world in favor of playing games all day. He meets a demon girl named Elsie who's a bit of a dunce. Together they run around capturing escaped souls from hell by seducing the women that the souls take over. It can essentially be boiled down to this: an otaku that loves galge games has to use his knowledge of galge tropes to seduce girls in real life. It's a cheesy (if not slightly charming) concept, but I don't think the anime executes it that well. As far as plot goes, there isn't much of one. Keima seduces a new girl every 2-3 episodes, and each arc is dedicated to how he figures out…

Awww, Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai. Where do I begin? Well, if you like games and also like girls then why not combine the two? That's what keima the protagonist of the story did and it worked out pretty well for him despite his life being on the line and all. I wasn't expecting much from this anime when first watching it but what's really funny is that I was a big nerd like Keima in high school without all the smarts sadly. I kind of used his strategy with my own twist of course to pick up girls and it actually worked to my surprise. What I learnt is any relationship is built on the amount of encounters and how strong they are to get too a strong bond with each other. So maybe the same will work for you if you need a boost but just be smart and careful or s*** could end up like school days…
