Like in my review of the Initium Iter episode, and despite all these designs being present in the original gacha game that I currently do play, I'm still going to criticize the lopsided character designs with women dressed like prostitutes (little girls not being spared this treatment still). Some characters do not have their breasts supported: Quetzalcoatl is not wearing ANYTHING under that shawl, so her boobs would be flapping in the wind which I am sure must be painful. Not to mention the giant naked ladies whose boobs are magically lifted up and conventionally presentable, despite no clothing to hold them. And don't get me started on Ushiwakamaru, who has just as garbage of a design as in the original game: you can plainly see for yourself, no support, the nipples are just covered by s…

5.75/10 ~ slightly better then Ageteram
This should be your 5th stop in the FGO anime timeline:
- First Order Movie
- Camelot Movie 1: Wandering; Agateram
- Camelot Movie 2: Paladin; Agateram
- Babylonia Initium Iter (ep 0)
And now the 21ep show of Babylonia. The Largest parts of the 1st 3 movies was that they were just giant advertisements for the game under the guise that they were a movie, with little to no story and honestly pretty weak fights and characters. Babylonia yes assumes like the previous movies that you have played the Game FGO, but also have at minimum watched the 3 movies and more then likely Zero+Original or UBW and skips over much of the ground work that all this material has presented. However without a stable ground of what and where it seems pretty aimless in its sto…

Fate/Grand Order: Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia (2019), adapted from the seventh chapter of the Fate/Grand Order game. Set in 2655 BC in Mesopotamia, the story follows Ritsuka Fujimaru and Mash Kyrielight as they are sent to the seventh Singularity to fix a temporal distortion threatening humanity’s existence. There, they discover that the city of Uruk, led by King Gilgamesh, is under the threat of an alliance of three goddesses and attacks from demonic beasts. Alongside legendary Servants and deities, Ritsuka and Mash fight to protect human civilization from annihilation.
After a long time, I finally found an anime series that pretty good. Visually stunning, with animation and art style that are an absolute feast for my eyes. But what impressed me the most was the sound design and so…

Enjoying something doesn't necessarily mean that that something must be good. The Fate franchise has dozens of entries between anime, video games, manga, OVAs -- enough to make you lose track, and 90% of those are, frankly, not very good. So why do I like Fate? It's simple. I am a simp for a specific handful of characters, which makes me willing to slog through hours of middling content just to see those characters get their moment to shine.
However, I can definitely say that FGO: Babylonia is ACTUALLY, objectively, a decently good anime that is worth watching. And my simping for Gilgamesh has surprisingly little to do with it (though it helps.)
I haven't played the original FGO, so I only have this anime to go on. You also don't need to have watched any other Fate anime to understand th…

How did this anime, that I have serious complaints about, end up being one of my favourite anime of all time?
I'd like to talk about things that I didn't like first.
Music/OSTs were average. They were not THAT bad but any anime in general usually have pretty sick soundtracks. The music in this show was nothing special, some of them were used in very fitting scenes, however it is nothing to write home about. They were also very overused and felt like they didn't have a large variety of soundtracks (even though their album has so many songs, I'm assuming it's one of those situations where most of the songs are the same with slight differences or different covers).
The CGI was questionable. Some of it was used so well that some CGI looked better than hand drawn animation, but most of the…

This season of fate/grand order (if i can say that considering that is the first format series adaptation being the previous ones ovas or movies) starts basically with the wrong foot obviating literally 5 of 6 singularities with the exception of Fate/Grand Order: Shinsei Entaku Ryouiki the sixt one, like went straight to this cutting like half of the content and even if im not aware of the game in which this is based off was a HUGE skip story wise and some might ask but was maybe an decision to go in the juicy part and i would say not really and gonna try to expand a little forward.
The premise in general of this series i must say from all the series of fate that i have seen so far is the most ambitious and the scale itselft feel bigger than previous ones with that being said has so many…

I have watched this show 2 times already, it is an incredible show to anybody who has read the Epic of Gilgamesh, which is the book that the real life versions of gilgamesh, enkidu, and Ishtar are based on, and or has played or watched the "Fate" anime series or games, such as fate grand order.
If you don't know anything about either of them then this anime may be uninspiring to you. To myself who read the Epic of Gilgamesh and who has played the Fate Grand Order phone game, and who read the Fate series lore. I found it at times to be a very inspirational, emotional journey which made me laugh and cry.

After seeing too many highlights of Babylonia on Youtube, I decided I better watch this before the whole thing gets spoiled by Youtube. Overall, this series was worth the time invested. I watched this having no time invested into anything released prior to this relating to FGO, so I felt I had to overlook things here and there in the story and just enjoy what is shown in this series. The show can be a slow burn, but picks up when it needed to, and pushed the pace for the last half of the series. In the end the show lived up to the Fate franchise and delivered some really nice sequences that will be memorable for a while.
Animation 9/10
- Beautiful scenes from the get-go, at times had me thinking they need to save the budget for the good parts, but the consistency was there throughout. The…

To get one thing out of the way: I can't understand how someone thinks that giving this anime a literal 1 is fair in any way. I'm completely ignorant of the game origin this is supposed to be coming from and I certainly haven't intended on watching thise entry for fanservice (though I have completely nothing against fanservice).
Fate Babylonia literally has everything a good anime needs: an intricate story, humor, loads of action, psychological shenanigans between the characters and sure, it's not complex at a level of a novel but it's not your commonplace anime either.
The best thing about this is the historical context. This series literally teaches you about Babylonia without it being boring to the slightest. I had little to no knowledge of Babylonian times but this literally got me…

Fate prequel, after seeing the whole main line I thought I was going to see blood and destruction. I was wrong, we have a naruto-style protagonist who annoys me a lot, he fights and that's it, but he doesn't prefer to talk. After the character design is very good, the new servants that are presented are good and I liked their personality. What I also didn't like was the ending that leaves it for another season and if I honestly can't stand the protagonist because he's too good. The plot is good because we see a character who is a crack when he was king and well I'll say no more so you see who he is. The animation is very good, but in a fight with the Mayan goddess the animation drops with that fight and then everything else remains at a very high level that's good. The soundtrack is good a…

Ahh where to start with this... I guess as a Fate fan, this series was the natural "next step" in consuming and enjoying fate media and so it is with great honor that I am reviewing this.
A couple things to know right off the bat:
1. I know that this anime is based on the Fate/ Grand Order game, of which I have played none of. Therefore, some of my Grand Order knowledge is understandably lacking
2. I made quite the movie journey to get to this point, which, now having watched Absolute Demonic Front, I would also recommend you watch if you are interested in getting into F/GO. I am by no means a master at this series but the movies definitely serve to describe and help one understand what exactly is going on in F/GO Absolute Demonic Front. I will be reviewing this anime given that I have w…

Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia is the single most underrated anime I have ever seen.
It humanises Gilgamesh, one of the most ruthless villains in the main Fate/Stay Night series. In this show, you see an older and wiser Gilgamesh, after he has met and lost his best friend - Enkidu.
The Archer Class Gilgamesh summoned in UBW and the other main fate routes is actually based on the younger, more arrogant and more self-centred version of himself.
Donquixote Doflamingo will probably always stand on top as the best villain in Anime/Manga for me, but Caster Gil's portrayal in this show, as a leader and someone who genuinely cares for his people, moved me.
I cried when Kingu used his Noble Phantasm, and I still get emotional every time I hear Milets ' Tell Me' that play…

With Fate, it kinda feels like gambling at times. With the horrifyingly long line of history the franchise has, the quality of the shows they churn out really varies. With Fate/Zero being its peak and the first Grand Order movie being the lowest, I really went in to this one expecting nothing but blandness. To my surprise, this one was actually sublime, awesome, and such a skyrocket improvement over the other FGO bits.
FGO Babylonia is said to be adapted from the most well-received part of the mobile game Fate Grand Order, a game i never played. It feels like a bane to enter the FGO series as a casual viewer, case and point, the first movie which was balls to the wall boring. This one assumes the watcher knows something about the game and throughout its runtime, i really did feel like it…

I'm a really big fan of fate, i have played fgo first. I need to say that this anime did not disappoint me. They have cut a few dialogue which i found funny but the pace is perfect. I don't understand how people say that ritsuka is useless. I find it reasonable because he is only human between those powerful servants, and his character is never a powerful nor genius type of person. the animation is very smooth and the fighting scenes are extraordinary, and especially the music is super good. Ofc, gil is super hot. And in conclusion, I LOVE YOU ISHTARrrrrrr.

One of the best anime out there.
Generally great in all aspects and a definite must watch for fans of Gilgamesh as its essentially an anime about his backstory.
I would generally recommend some fate series like Fate Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works or Fate : Zero before watching this if you do not play the game Fate: Grand Order in order to better understand the characters, especially Gilgamesh.
However, do watch FGO: First order and the Babylonia OVA before watching this.

FGO was something that I went in with absolutely zero expectations. While I was familiar with the Fate franchise having watched Fate/Zero and Unlimited Blade Works, I still had very little expectations from this anime. Having neither the hype nor the rage of the players of the source game, I went into it with a completely open mind. And I can safely say that I don’t regret watching this.
Firstly, I think it is necessary to address the confusion surrounding the watch order. One of the unfortunate things with the Fate series has been how confusing it can appear to the uninitiated. This makes it difficult for people to get into the Fate series. I find this utterly tragic because in many ways Fate represents the apotheosis of what anime as a medium can offer. Having watched this show without…

Im a simple man. I see a character that looks like rin, i immediately like that.
But all seriousness, as someone that just started the fate series last month, this was pretty enjoyable. good amount of action for my taste, and the characters were all very interesting.
It might be because I dont know much of the concepts regarding the servants and the pseudo-servants, but it did take a while to understand that stuff. Im sure most of this is covered in the games, which I have not played but the whole concepts regarding summoning is very fascinating.

Fate/ GO Babylon has the best version of Gil, this show would have been an easy 8 if it didn't have have tie in with the Fate/ GO gatcha-verse. Literally everyone, even edge lord fake Enkidu, is more enjoyable to watch than the 2 MCs Fuji and Mash. Fuji has the "talk no jutsu" as a master and Mash's every other word is Senpai. Like a majority of the fights is Fuji solving the a fight by saying, "because you love humans," and Mash yelling senpai. Luckily the other servants hard carry the show. The fights are the most insane when compared to the other Fate/ animes and if you really don't care for the story then just watch the fights on Youtube.

What makes an anime good? Well, we can answer this by asking what makes a story good. There are many aspects to a story. Characters, dialogue, world building, originality - the list goes on. There are also many aspects of a story that are only present in visual media - specifically animation. While it is hard to pinpoint what makes animation good, "you know it when you see it" is a pretty good rule of thumb.
I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia fails on every single level of story telling. Allow me to explain why.
First, let's talk about the plot. Saying that this animated adaptation of the Babylonia singularity of the popular "Fate/Grand Order" gacha game has a plot is like saying that a piece of white bread has flavor. Techni…
