Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma

Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma

Introduction

Souma Yukihira has been cooking alongside his father Jouichirou for as long as he can remember. As a sous chef at his father's restaurant, he has spent years developing his culinary expertise and inventing new dishes to amaze their customers. He aspires to exceed his father's skill and take over the restaurant one day, but he is shocked to learn that Jouichirou is closing up the shop to take a job in New York. Rather than tagging along with his father, Souma finds himself enrolling at the prestigious Tootsuki Culinary Academy, where only 10 percent of its students end up graduating. The school is famous for its "Shokugeki"—intense cooking competitions between students often used to settle debates and arguments. Jouichirou tells Souma that, to surpass him, he must survive the next three years at Tootsuki and graduate there. The academy's brutal curriculum and fiercely competitive student body await the young chef, who must learn to navigate the treacherous environment if he wants to stand a chance at realizing his dreams. But is skill alone enough to let him rise to the top? [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Food Wars Season One Overview 👁️‍🗨️ Food Wars Season One follows Soma Yukihira, a young cook who has to move from his fathers simple diner to an Elite Culinary Academy after his father closes the diner to cook abroad. Throughout this season, we see Soma make new friends, compete against others and watch as he tries his best to prove himself as the best cook, worthy to come back and eventually own the diner. Story/Plot ⏳ Let’s start with what I believe Food Wars Season One did right in the plot department. Food Wars plays heavily into many standard “shonen” tropes, like the fact that the whole season is essentially two major tournament arcs, high stake duels, an overpowered protagonist, and so on. I like the fact that they took these tropes and incorporated them into a cooking envir…

I have rewatch the first season and was able to come up of this review. Story line: I love how the story progress and showed the main character’s lacking and continues change throughout the first season. The way the story progresses is engaging and even back stories are provided in a nice way which adds to the depth of characters. The fan service really does not take what is the story is up to provide and makes up to how the characters expresses their reaction to food. Characters The characters since it is narrated in a school themed are set to change and developed. I love how it does not only focus on the goal of the main character but side characters add the charm to the story. I really like Tadokoro’s development and even the backstory for Ayama. The MC is simple and relatable but…

"Food Wars!" is what happens when writers want to make an epic battle shounen with a side of (sometimes) tasteful ecchi, but without any actual violence or physical fighting. The battles are cook-offs and the determining factor of each characters' power level is how intensely they can make the food judges orgasm due to simply tasting their dishes. To put in food terms, "Food Wars!" is like a fast food burger joint. There really isn't any complexity or depth of the food and you know it probably isn't the best for you, but it keeps you hooked with simple comfort food. Out of the way too large cast of characters, only Megumi Tadokoro has a character arc. The rest are still likable and easy to root for, but are basically caricatures of people, failing to display any growth or change. All of t…

I don’t get the idea of more fan service and nudes that get mixed in the entire cooking show, it’s absolutely weird and disgusting. I don’t understand the idea of people getting stripped naked for tasting something good, it doesn't make any sense. I was supposed to see fancy food that gives me the feeling of what you could say I’m hungry? Now it is just orgasms and have them feel sexualized. I don’t want to see any point in bringing more big breasts from this shit. DISGUSTING! The animation is quite slim, like some of their movements aren't really accurate and there are a few many frames but still doesn't make a huge impact. This is a show with a lot of cooking competitions. At least the food presentation had excellent visuals; it does pick the right colors and textures and plus with a lot…

Food Wars, a show that crosses the line when it comes to answering the question: how good can anime’s food really be? To start this I believe it’s important to make clear that food wars is genuine a learning experience when it comes to commercial cookery however unfortunately while it’s the most in depth cooking show (not just anime) I’ve seen, it also focus’s overly on its Ecchi entertainment when characters eat good food, leading to some assuming this show is; to quote a friend of mine “soft core porn”. This is not at all an unpopular opinion either, the show decides that once it’s fulfilled its need of teaching you everything about food it’s time for everyone to take sexual pleasure from eating said food. Few shows have left me this disappointed yet also fulfilled in the end. This show…

I finished Season 5 a few days ago and for some reason I felt like going back and thinking about where everything started. Season 1 of Shokugeki no Souma hits very differently once you have seen the whole journey. At the time it just felt like a fun cooking anime with ridiculous food reactions. Looking back now it feels like the beginning of something much bigger. I still remember the first episode clearly. Soma losing to his dad for the 489th time and still smiling about it immediately told me what kind of protagonist he was going to be. He is stubborn in a way that never feels annoying. Instead it becomes kind of inspiring. The guy just refuses to stay down no matter how many times he gets crushed. When I first watched this season years ago I honestly did not expect to get so invested.…

Do you like food? What about over the top animation and fan-service about food? Then Food Wars has you covered. Food Wars is an absolute blast of an anime, starting out strong and only getting better as the season goes on. Characters are full of quarks, the animation is great, and the food is delicious looking. Not to mention, excellent performances from the voice actors that really sell you on the delights. Starting out strong, we open up with our protagonist Yukihira, Souma working at his father's restaurant. Business is booming, but suddenly Souma's father decides to close up shop and sends Souma to a culinary university. The opening episode is fantastic, and shows pretty much what the whole anime is going to be like. We get some very funny interpretations of what food does to people'…

I love food, this anime is very good :) idk what to say haha the series revolves around food. they cook and resent the food in a very appealing manner and when they try the food they foodgasm 😭 😭 😭 I love how expressive the show is with their reactions to the food. It gives a funny idea of how good the food really was. the main character likes testing random ideas, which I also do so irl I loved whenever he did that. the school system is very interesting even tho its unrealistic af (but its an anime what do you expect lol) and all characters are very well thought of. i dont like the blue haired one she is a little bland. she does get some character building but at that point she was already the most boring one. dont remember much saw this 10 years ago 😭

This is a cooking and eating anime that is very recommended in my opinion, the MC who was already a cooking expert from the beginning, the deep background of the MC and it turned out not just anyone, the historical background and stories of each character that are interconnected, and of course packed into a very funny cooking comedy situation. My score is 8, actually I want to give a score of 9, but the ending I was not satisfied because the story was hanging, especially about the end of the romance between Yukihira and Erina, I know in the manga / from the author they got married, but because it was not shown in the anime so I was not satisfied and just gave a score of 8. one more thing, I don't like the character of Megumi Tadokoro, in my opinion the armor plot is too much for her, alway…

I will never understand who I liked it more than some really loved shonen among the community of anime watchers but I swear it was so good. I don't know how to explain but it was comforting? Not only because of the food, but also because the character's friendships mixed with rivalry was amazing. I loved the MC so much, he was the type that everyone likes, I think he has to be the most loved characters. The fan service was there for sure... BUT it didn't really impact how cool the story was imo. I would mb not recommend it to everyone because people might think I am crazy.

Shokugeki no Souma (Food Wars), is one of the craziest anime's that I've seen in a long time. It's not only entertaining, but it knows how to quench your appetite, especially if you enjoy watching food anime's while eating, like moi. This has quickly evolved into one of my favorite anime of all time. Hands down, top ten easily. It follows a young inspired chef named; Souma Yukihira, who strives to be at the top of the food industry. He's enrolled in the top culinary school in Japan where the graduation rate is very dismal, and outcomes of the food battles, Shokugeki, reign supreme. Pros: First off, is the animation. It is beautiful beyond comprehension. It takes every advantage that it gets, especially during the cooking scenes. The cooking scenes really give this show its own personality.…

Brief overview: A Cooking anime that is worth a watch, but it does fall off toward the last few seasons I'll be putting all the season in this one review, 9/10 for the whole series Story 9/10 The story is about the main character wants to take over his fathers restaurant. However, inside his world he only knows the cooking in his local area and hardly anything that is outside of it. Therefore, one day his father introduced him into a Prestige cooking academy known for all the professional chefs around the world who graduated from this academy and is only for the best of the best to improve his son's cooking skills. As the series goes on it does fall off because most of the tiny details they added in season 1 were mostly taken out. Later on the story becomes more predictable and the pacin…

It's one of the most satisfying anime in every way. The story, the characters and the attention to details, especially when describing the dishes. The metaphors, they use are unique but in the same time understandable. Very diverse and beautifully executed animation. I am not sure how many times I re-watch this during the years. Excellent work. Love it ♥ / maybe the only one kinda not positive thing about this anime is that it make me constantly hungry while watching 😅. I tried one of the recipes and it actually worked. I was out of ingredients at home and I took the idea what to do from the anime/

You know that Gordon Ramsay guy Food wars is like if his shows were good. No but in all seriousness Food Wars was Great, entertaining and funny. I would also say my favorite part of the show is when they taste something so amazing their clothes immediately come off that part is pretty Sweet that's the main funny and appeal of the show. I would say all of the characters are interesting with good backgrounds which is a plus for the show because no matter who is on screen I am invested. Overall I would say give it a watch it is awesome sauce.

Food Wars is an anime focusing on ambitious chefs-in-training as they vie for dominance at an elite culinary school, a premise that should surely appeal to culinary enthusiasts while also promising a high degree of competition, as is only appropriate for a shounen anime. The show's lead characters, Soma and Megumi, are likable and compelling enough, if somewhat basic, with goals that easy to understand and root for. The cast in general has enough quirk and personality to entertain, though the show does expect the audience to be invested in even the less developed characters with decidedly mixed results. The visual style of Food Wars is consistently pleasing, with appealing character designs and lovingly detailed close-ups of the food. The meat of the anime, so to speak, is the cooking, wh…

Show reviewed as whole. I think I found out recently why I have shit like Aharen-san over things like Re:Zero. Why I enjoy shit like Kakegurui over things like Rising of the Shield Hero or My Hero Academia, why I can’t stop watching shitty romcoms. When it comes down to it, it all has to do with one thing: identity. Anime romcoms are stupid fucking bullshit. And everyone knows it. That includes the people working on the show. They admit what they are doing is stupid and so they have no qualms with going all out with it. They play into their identity. I prefer shows that know what they are about and take it as far as they can, rather than shows that fail to live up to it’s intentional identity. To put into better terms, Kakegurui is absolutely bonkers and is unapologetic. It knows it’s cros…

*Note: This is a review for all five seasons.* tl;dr: A shounen sports style anime about cooking with a great cast and a really fun gimmick, that overstays it’s welcome somewhat. This anime, as you may have been able to surmise from the title, is centered around battles fought through cooking, known as shokugeki. The plot revolves around the protagonist, Souma, going to attend Japan’s most prestigious cooking high school, Tootsuki Culinary Academy. This is an incredibly strict academy that one can easily fail out of at the drop of a hat. However, Souma is the type of guy that despite the danger looks straight ahead at not only graduating from Tootsuki, but in becoming the top cook at Tootsuki. And that involves winning lots of shokugeki. The anime is heavily focused on comedy, much more…

Shokugeki no Souma, the anime that shows that even cooking in the anime world can be an action-packed and cool thing, affects you in such a way that; you can feel like a world-famous chef even while making eggs. As for the story; Yukihira Souma has been helping his father in the kitchen at the family restaurant since he was little. As he got older, his talent in cooking and his unique spirit began to show itself. Although he challenged his father to food battles many times, he could not beat him even once. The only thing that matters to Souma is to surpass his father in cooking. But one day, his father disappears, saying he took a job overseas and the only message he leaves for Souma is to improve his skills by entering the best cooking school in the country. Although Souma confidently he…

It's this awesome anime all about cooking, and it's like being in a cooking contest every episode. Trust me, it's like winning a prize just by watching it! What makes it even better is the cool female characters. They're not just pretty faces; they have the best personalities. Like, there's this one girl, Erina, who seems all fancy and stuff, but deep down, she's got her soft side (tsundere). And then there's Megumi, who's super friendly and has this incredible talent for cooking. You'll totally love them! The main dude, Soma, is a total cooking genius. He comes up with the most crazy and delicious ideas you've ever seen. And get this, the story happens in this fancy culinary school where Soma challenges other students to cook-offs called Shokugeki. It's like a battle of the taste buds,…

Shokugeki no Souma is a great and unique anime. Food always looks amazing in anime and battles are exciting to watch. This anime combines these two concepts into over the top cooking battles. The over the top part also results in 'foodgasms' in which characters are sometimes drawn naked which is the only thing I could see turning people away from this anime. The anime has a relatively interesting story. The main character goes to the best culinary school in the world where almost everything can be decided by cooking battles. Over the course of the anime there's lots of different events at this school that lead to even more cooking battles. Since all the events are different and the cooking battles are between unique characters with different cooking styles this remains very entertaining…
