Writing this as I have recently rewatch the first season up to second. Story: Pacing is nice and story telling is the same as the first. Fan service added is just included to boost the series viewership but does not affect what the series has to offer. I love how the story and the food are being intertwined with the characters. Characters: The competition setup and how the characters specializes and showcase their skills is very interesting. Still my fave character is Megumi. The main character for me is just okay and engaging at times but the depiction on how the MC overcomes the arc and how he is lacking and not overpowered is nice. Animation Same as the first season. I really found it funny when the second season tries to parody other series just to express hyperbole on how the foo…

Food Wars season two brings us back into the action with an epic showdown that was teased in the ending of season one. The show picks up right where we left off and continues to show Yukihira evolving as a chef. New adversaries do show up, and we see some characters grow. Season two does differ a bit. Where as season one centered around Souma's and Megumi's dynamic and growth together, season two narrows in on the Autumn Selection and the main power houses of the competition. Souma once again steals the show with his tenacity and mesmerizing perseverance. Every episode was exciting, and it was hard to stop. One of my complaints from season one did carry over though, and that is once again the exposition and over-explanation of how a food dish was prepped and how it tastes. Thankfully it s…

In the 3 years since I watched season 1 I’ve sat through a lot of cooking shows. Mostly The Great British Bakeoff, which is fairly relaxing, but I’ve garnered a moderate amount of experience with shows like Masterchef as well. Putting aside that my watching of these shows was entirely against my will and that they’re well past their cultural peak, what I can say is that the second season of Shokugeki no Souma is just about as entertaining as its 3D counterparts. The second season is almost entirely a tournament arc. For the most part it’s not a bad idea but this does come at the cost of any character or plot development. Instead each of the characters, which aren’t exactly deep in the first place, are reduced to their absolute barebones elements. Souma is just a generic shounent protagon…

Ni no Sara, continues from where the First Plate of Shokugeki no Souma left off. At the end of the First Plate, selected students competed in the Falls Selection, in a curry theme competition preliminaries, and only eight made the cut to compete in the actual selection. Souma Yukihira, who battles in the first bout against Alice Nakiri. A master in gastronomy cooking, (something that I greatly admire in cooking) and the cousin of Erina Nakiri. Megumi Tadokoro, who specializes in using high quality end vegetables, dukes it out against Ryou Kurokiba. A real cut-throat who grew up as a head chef on the docks and specializes in seafood dishes. Takumi Aldini, a true Italian, raised in Italian Cuisine, along with his twin brother, Isami Aldini, goes into battle against, Subaru Mimasaka. A sa…

Shokugeki no Souma: Ni no Sara, the anime that sets fire to plates and emotions! I find that this second season remains on the same basis compared to the first season. It's always a pleasure to follow the student chefs! The duels are still as thrilling and the scenes of ecstasy last less time. Sōma is more in the background, which allows the other characters to stand out. The animation and character design remain the same, with the dishes that make us salivate just as much! In terms of the soundtrack, I like the opening and ending which are still as J-rock oriented. The OST is still as good. In short, this second season is a very good sequel overall.

The second season of Shokugeki no Souma is very similar to its first season. The story is a direct continuation and the art and voice acting are the same. The story in the second season is mostly the continuation of the autumn elections followed by a few episodes about another interesting challenge. The pacting feels slightly slower and there is lots of attention for the cooking battles and the preparations leading up to them. Overall it manages to stay interesting quite well. The characters are mostly the same as in the first season with one notable addition named Subaru Mimasaka. His cooking style is quite unrealstic but if the molecular gastronomy from the first season was acceptable then his cooking should be fine too. All in all it's nice to see the different personalities clash i…

it was pretty good like i didnt appreciate the fan service and mitos titties bouncing like theyre getting paid to (they probably are tbh) and ig the people getting naked n shit was funny at first but i kinda started ignoring it and read 2 words of text before skipping becoz idk alot of boobage and the woman to man ratio of nakedness was just bad #equality is lacking. but anyways the food was fire and the people saying french words here and there was funny and this anime really gets u on the edge of ur seat for reals and yes anime fire viewer (me) rating:: 3

Couldn't wait to start this season as I absolutely loved the first season. And honestly- it didn't disappoint! It isn't quite as good as the first season (which I rate 10/10), but over all the 2nd season is still a delight. The jokes are still hilarious. The over top reactions are still there. There are character growths from Soma, which I absolutely give an A+ on. A lot of anime give too much plot armor to their MC. Okay, Soma does have "some", but here it shows for the first time how vulnerable he is- and how he needs to get better. He doesn't sulk. He just owns up to it and tries to become better. That's the type of MC I can root for. As for the side characters, not much development, but I don't mind. They are already established well in season 1, so here I feel like this season is mor…

(MINOR — SPOILER '⚠') enjoy, I will serve you with an honest review from my side. story ⚠ : authentic. focus on the story, not out of line that has been determined. all episodes focus on the characters' competition & strategy to win. the way they describe the food is so detailed, a casual viewer who is not in the food field like me can even imagine what it was like. The story doesn't just show Japanese food, in the last episode when Yukhira was a chef at a French restaurant, he made French hash food. each episode has its own conflict which is quite strong, of course with a clear solution so that even one episode of the problem is solved (there are also episodes that are divided into two) I am always on fire & excited when watching this. art : the depiction of food looks very appetizing.…

Overall a good season but the tension from S1 was missing. The pacing seemed weaker and rushed. It'd have been better if they made it into 24 episodes like S1. The entire Stagier arc only focused on Yukihira. I'd have loved to see other characters' progress too.( I've not read the manga so I don't know if it was shown in manga) Loved Yukihira's character development. He's one of the best MCs I've ever seen. Love his attitude and mindset. Plus the seiyuu is awesome! I stumbled upon S1 of Shokugeki no Souma out of curiosity and boredom. It turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The animation and the characters are really good. If it didn't include all the fanservice, it would have been a solid 9 anime for me (Although, calling it food porn, as many people do, is wrong in my opinion). Noneth…

Hi guys. So, I just end watche Shokugeki no Soma : Second Plate. Altought I'm busy with my university life. Fuhhh . Firstly, the story is super good. Unpredictable and have moments that you can't predict. I'm surely like part Takumi Aldini Vs The Stalker. It kinda sad to know that Takumi lost his knife and Soma fight the Stalker in SHokugeki. You guys need watch it! Secondly, the Autumn Selection Arc and Stagiere Arc is good. The OP song of this not kinda bad. I prefer the Op Song of shokugeki no soma (first Plate) The character same as usual but the development character of Ryou and another Character in Final Stage is awesome.

Yet another great show ! In my opinion it is a great sequel to first season of Shokugeki no Souma franchise. The art is good, sound is good, character development is interesting to watch, and overall it's really enjoyable season. They are growing, they are changing and learning from their experiences, but they still have a long way to go. I made a mistake by now writing this review before I watched 4 seasons, and started 5. I will try to avoid anything specific about the story because I don't want to give any spoilers from this or other seasons. Basically you will enjoy watching beautiful art, you will laugh through every episode, sometimes the characters will have some obstacles and you will se will they overcome them and if yes how. It's interesting and at this point it's still a…

The Second Plate: (13 Episodes) A continuation of the First Plate. There are only 8 contestants left and they are entering one-on-one Food Wars to narrow it down and to determine the winner. So much like before, there are a lot of foodgasms, and all of the Shonen tropes amped up to 2000 with even a JoJo, Godzilla, Dragonball, and Pokemon reference thrown in there. (The Megumi-Ryou and Akira-Ryou Food Wars were amazing) But what makes the fights interesting is that they get you rooting for one character then you get some backstory thrown in to give you more insight into why they cooked the food a certain way. Most of the backstory is absolutely ridiculous and it adds very little depth to the characters as it instead just emphasizes the character traits that are already on display so it just…

Shokugeki no Souma: Ni no Sara picks up right after the preliminaries of the Autumn Elections have concluded. The 8 people who made it through are brought together and told just how things will work on the main stage. The matches have their own themes of course and things are carried out as anyone would expect. There is a specific food that must be used in the cook-off and judges to see things through. The winner advancing to the semi-final and then ultimately the final of course. There was a mix up or two thrown into the Autumn Elections. I won't say much because it would spoil things for the people who haven't watched it but Souma while definitely can be a little air-headed at times, respects certain people for sure. When he feels one of them is done wrong he goes berserk in a sense,…

Story 9/10 13 high quality episodes where the action doesn’t stop firstly with the Autumn elections where Souma has to battle against some natural chefs with more talent than he has and has a result he has to work extra hard if he is to succeed. The students then have to go out on work placements which will fully test their abilities in a high pressure environment. Art 8/10 This season maintains the first season’s art style with the characters in particular being drawn in such a fun and humorous way. Sound 9/10 Sound and music is very good but where this shines is in the continued excellent voice acting. Characters 10/10 The character development in this program is of the highest quality with all the characters fleshed out and their personalities explained perfectly we understand how…

Simple story, well written characters and bad-ass action. Continuing on the action, tension and excitement of the first season without falling short of expectations. The characters are still as vibrant, with new characters shining as well. Each characters shows there own development throughout the show and is done so in a thoroughly entertaining way. Occasionally the ecchi scenes get one my nerve but the action, well constructed dishes and battles and amazing character really carry this show to new heights. Having watched the following seasons I can say this is definetly on of the best and you will not regret watching this show. Also has one of the best opening song of all time and the outro is second to none.

I gave the first season a 10/10 and, while I think the second season is also very good, I think it's a 9/10. Let me explain. The story, art, and musical selections remained a 10/10. But there was a decrease in humorous segments and an introduction to a quite a few new characters (all played minors roles in the overall story). For the most part, these new characters were boring at best. But there was one in particular whom I thought was just downright a bad character. They call him the copycat but his real name is Subaru (yes like the car). I don't know, he just didn't seem to fit into the story like the rest of the characters. It was like a weird crossover episode (popular in America) where they bring in characters from completely different shows for shock value. Despite the minor complain…

Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Souma: Ni no Sara is the second season of the popular Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Souma series. It is the continuation of the trials, tribulations, and misadventures willingly taken on by culinary prodigy Souma Yukihira. As in S1, most of the episodes in this season fit together well and did not rush into advancing the plot prematurely. There were no "fillers", with each episode providing a unique step forward in the overall plot. The art style is neither realistic nor overly basic. It is, however, extremely suggestive. If you're a fan-service enthusiast, you will definitely be pleased. While the seductive nature surrounding many of the female characters may have coaxed some comedic elements out from the other characters, I do believe it detracted, slightly, from the…

Shokugeki No Soma is a strange beast. It annoys me, but makes me laugh all the same. It's like one of those annoying friends who keep on bugging you, but you can't help but like them a little. Story: The story in Shokugeki No Soma is the low point of the series, meaning, there isn't much story. Soma wants to become a better chef than his dad and ends up going to a high class culinary school. The plot is simple, but it works. In the world of Shokugeki No Soma people settle a lot of their disputes through food battles, which have people make extreme reactions according to the food. This ends up with mostly being ecchi stuff, like people losing their clothing, but can be fun ("Oops. I turned into a young girl for a second" hint hint). Tragically, I think the writers must have had a hard time…

Food porn season 2!!! I recently finished this anime. I watched this cuz next season, the 3rd installment of this series will air, and this time, I’m planning on watching it weekly. What I really like about this series was that the anime feels like its a shounen anime even though it doesn’t have any action sequences. It was that intense, every cooking competition was really intense and thrilling, I can’t even stop pressing the next button every time an episode ends. The art and animation were consistent all throughout the series. I really really loved the fact they parodied some of shounen famous anime scenes (like Jojo, card game animes, etc.) to make the anime and the competition more entertaining. I think the only negative point I could give to this series is the unfairness of charac…
