So this is another sci-fi anime. I actually really liked the characters in this one, and the setting too. The red-head girl character is really cute and affectionate without being tropey.
Of course the goofiness becomes seriousness a little later into the show. I guess the ending was a little underwhelming, but it does come to an end timely, lasting only 11 episodes.
If you'd rather watch a light-hearted sci-fi than another "Fifty Shades of Brown" (all dark colors, all dark plot, all the time), then Fractale should go over well with you.
Not much else to say, there are a few favorite moments in the middle of the show and the ending was underwhelming.

This show was pretty good. Not too big of a fan of all the sexual mumbo jumbo that happens, and theres a few parts where it kind of seems like they let some weird pervert into the studio and he got his grubby hands on the script, but if you just ignore the weird stuff its actually a pretty good show. The animation is good quality, characters are charming, my favorite is Nessa. The ending is satisfying, characters develop reasonably well. Over all a pretty good show. It lost some points because of the weird sexual mumbo jumbo(as of writing this ranked it at 7/10) but I think Nessa's existence bumps it to an 8.

Fractale is a bizarre title. For better or for worse, it is utterly unique in a lot of ways, big and small, and there's no better way to illustrate this than by simply getting into the review. Beginning with the story, it is built upon some really impressive worldbuilding, with a creative concept blending tech with organized religion and wrapping the whole thing up in pervasive Celtic, specifically Irish, themes. I'll get into this some more later, but this is one of the only anime I've seen which takes place in Ireland, which makes for a distinctive blend of narrative themes. The story itself gets off to a pretty strong start, and provides solid grounding for a memorable adventure. While it delivers on this for the most part, there are a lot of issues that I have to address here that real…

This show would be my vote for most underrated anime show on this web site. Based on both votes and popularity, it is at the bottom on my "Best Of" list. In some ways its understandable and in other ways its not.
I'll start with it's obvious issues that I also second. A lot of its sci fi concepts don't get fully fleshed out, are half baked, and don't make a major impact to the plot. There are typical dumb anime moments seen in most shows that are cringe worthy. Some plot threads go nowhere and should've been developed more.
Now here is where I think despite all that, It has plenty good to offer and made my watching experience overall positive.
It has above average hand drawn animation that I miss in current anime. The action moments have some style and enhance the scenes. Great orchest…

Some find the story confusing from what I've read, but I had no problem following along. The story is actually really good, I found it enjoyable and endearing. It isn't super dramatic or actiony throughout so maybe that's why people seem to generally dislike it. I really enjoyed it and think it is one of the highlights of this anime.
The art is kind of a weak point. It depends on what you expect out of a anime. I generally don't expect much so as long as the animation is clear in what is happening, and look generally pleasing I don't mind having "lower" quality animation. The animation isn't bad, just not great. Some parts lack detail, but I only noticed it at the beginning so either it was a rare occurrence or I stopped noticing it at some point. Cg is fairly rare throughout which is goo…

This show delivers a finely-constructed story, harkening back to the airship-driven epics of the first Final Fantasy games, and is drawn and animated with a poise and gentleness seen chiefly in Ghibli films. In a world divided by those who survive off technology and those who seek to distance themselves from it, the protagonists are pulled back and forth between two ways of life; Clain, the pacifist that he is, understands Fractale's moral shades of gray, but in the end, only seeks to protect his newfound loved ones from the brutal line of fire; here, the story acknowledges its political undertones, but encourages the audience to see it first and foremost as a heartfelt wartime love story.

Hello bullitbaby with hopefully another down to earth review
Ya know, I REALLY WANTED to like this anime. But in the end It's IMPOSSIBLE for me to like due to so many mortal flaws .....except for ONE thing...the actual animation.
Simply put, this animation STRONGLY RESEMBLES GHIBLI STYLE. If your a fan of Ghibli animation you should feel the similarity almost immediately. The very idea of mixing technology blimplike flying machines etc but maintaining a small town classic style county architecture is also very Ghibli if you've watched any of his stuff.
Anyway, so bottom line, if you choose to watch this anime, you'll likely enjoy the animation cleanliness, flow, style etc, ....you won't enjoy much else as the conflicts in the story build rather quickly. The improper character developm…

Almost always when an anime has really, really good or really, really poor scores on this site and then I watch it I can at least understand why people feel that way, even if it does not match my personal opinion. This was not one of those cases. This anime has some pretty awful reviews and I really don't understand why. It's not amazing by any means, but I really and truly do not understand what is so bad about it. I thought by and large it did basically everything somewhere between decently and well, even if it wasn't amazing at anything, but it certainly didn't feel like it was terrible at anything either.
For only 11 episodes, a very short ride, it does a pretty reasonable job with character development, including even secondary characters to a degree. I found the animation style char…

The anime that killed Yamakan's career...until he started directing again...the freaking liar.
Fractale was something of pet project for Yamakan and it really does show in some aspect of this anime and say what you will for Yamakan as a person (mainly his obnoxiousness and director meddling causing scandals left right and center), but his directing skills does have merit, Yamakan does a good job in fleshing out his worlds and bringing in the stakes of the plot. Buuuut...
See Fractale is one of those animes where LA sees a solid concept and plot, but several things bogs down the anime to mediocre status.
The world building of Fractale is one of it's strongest aspects of the anime, as we look at a technologically advanced world, but where the insurgence *ahem* resistance compels them to l…

okay...for me this story have its own good and bad. I mean there is some creative storyline there especially about the fractale system that they are using, but that is where it bothering me beCause i dont understand how the system work or maybe im just too slow and dumb. Buy yeah, i think this anime are not a waste of time, if u want something that is not too heavy, you can pick this anime since it only have 11 episodes so you can finish it in one or two day. The genre is not really my fave since i pick it because i was bored and want to try something new. The first two episode might get you confused like what the hell is going on but after that you start to understand it. But im a little bit unsatisfied with the ending because im not sure if its a happy or sad ending or im just blur. and…

The saviour of Anime, as its creator Yamakan proudly announced this show!
Now, is the score you're seeing one worthy of a saviour? Not really. That's because the show didn't do as well as everyone waiting for Anime to be saved had hoped.
But why?
At first glance, the show seems nice enough. It is very nice to look at with aesthetically pleasing character designs as well as pretty fluid animation, though a bit stifled in its character expressiveness.
The setting also sets expectations; A world into the far future where most people only see the world by way of Avatars capable of moving and interacting with the real world as there have basically been permanent W-LAN spots everywhere for centuries now.
Have people lost their touch with nature? Is that permanent connection really leading to…

Fractale is a mess of a show. It's a mishmash of ideas that doesn’t know what to properly do with the. Instead it opts to put them together in the most sloppy of ways with the hopes that it for the most parts looks good enough. However it just ends up being a mess, a show that was killed by its own pacing and ideas.
The show is set in some futuristic era where a thing called fractale which is basically internet 2.0 exists everywhere. One of the more prominent things about fractale is that is that it has something called dopple, which is a digital clone of one’s self. The show never really dives head on into these subjects despite the fact that they are showcased heavily in the show. Instead the show focuses on the not so intrepid journey of a young boy and dopple like girl as they are pu…

Story:
The first 5 episodes can be easily skipped because there is no advancement in a story. Characters don’t bother to explain anything why something why they are on one side of the group. In episode 3 there was a small progression in the story and that can be explained in one sentence.
I don’t know if they wanted to create a “mystery” element in this or what but at last I can say it’s executed badly, basically, every faction tries to pull MC to their group without even bothering to explain what is better in their group than other and I think that’s the “mystery” of series.
Like why Fractale is bad? What point there is it to lose technical advancement and go back to the “natural” way? What is so bad about “doppels”? When anime starts to explain these things I already felt really bad a…

Think out of the box!
First of all, why is this anime ranked in the 3000's? This anime superb in which it exploits moral values and ethical issues that battles for what is collectively right and personal principles.

This was a weird, short little series. I won't say it was outstanding, but I don't think it deserves any hate either.
The show focuses itself on a world where humanity has become completely disconnected from each other and completely reliant on technology. However, a lot of the world building is given up in order to get through a never fully explained convoluted plot. The audience is given very little foundation, leaving them in the dark about most of the world making it much easier to sympathize with the protagonist. A lot of details about what happened in the past are hinted at, but never fully explored.
I think this show suffers from its shortness, asking the audience to fill in a lot of gaps or simply accept that most of it will remain unanswered in favor resolving the main line of…

Fractale was a big surprise for me. Having pretty meager expectations going in, I found the tale to be a surprisingly deep story about a futuristic utopia where everyone lives happy lives in sprawling comfort. However, in this utopia, is this really how humans are meant to live? There are many examples of other media that has entertained such an idea ranging from the Destiny plan in Gundam Seed Destiny, Gattaca a Sci-fi movie, and the Giver a great novel by Lois Lowry. This series is closer to the latter two as everyone is happy as computers control all facets of life. Given this setting, the series takes the viewer down an interesting adventure ranging from ridiculous looking flying balloons to horrific bloody massacres. This is a wild ride of a series that will keep you intrigued with su…

Fractale Review
Favourite Quote- None
What I Like- Unique setting/Story twists
What I dislike-Too short/not much character development
Other information- I recommend Sword art Online for Online story type similarities or Ghibli movies for art style and story.
Fractale is a 2011, 11 episode anime based in what appears to be a 22nd century Ireland. It centres in around the young protagonist Clain and his adventures following his chance meeting with a mysterious purple haired girl who left him with an amulet. The world is now contained within a type of virtual reality known as Fractale, similar to the world of or the Virtual world in Psycho-pass (without the fighting). However the story does have certain dark undertones as well as tragedy even though it focuses on sci-fi, action and comedy.…

I found Fractale by sifting through random animes and picking one to watch, and I am really glad I found it. To be honest, I'm surprised that I hadn't heard of it before. It is very well made. The production almost feels like watching an anime film, but in 11 episodes. It is one of the few animes thus far where I never had to push myself to keep watching.
The animation of the show is really beautiful. It's bright, fluid and colourful. It is a nice contrast to many other animes with similar themes (false utopian future). The sounds and music are really nice too. I don't want to draw too many comparisons, but when I started the show I got some of that Miyazaki magic feeling! There is something whimsical about Fractale. I watched the English dub, and I believe the dub is very high quality.…

Fractale seems to be a show that is not liked or praised that much. Yet I had a great time with it, though see its problems.
To start of though I like to say that it is A1 Pictures better works, and I’m glad it doesn’t revolve around highschoolers.
The problem though is that it is not sure what tone the show aimed at and I guess it put many people off. As it incorporates both cutsey and shock value.
If I had to compare it to something, I’d say Ghibli meets(sometimes) dark.
Story:
Fractale sets in the distant future as a system called “Fractale” governs humans life. It’s based on satalites creating a virtual reality within reality itself through holograms and an avatar based “real internet”.
People are free to do what they like, and don’t even need to be together with others thanks to…

In a far distant future, humanity has embraced the Fractale system as the ultimate path towards utopia. Comprised of several trillion networked computers, Fractale was created in the 22nd century to promote a peaceful lifestyle for the entire world in exchange of a periodic recovery of personal data from individuals through terminals located within their bodies. Living in a rocky coast region, Clain is a young boy fascinated by old technology. After helping a girl named Phryne, she gives him a pendant before disappearing by the next morning. Accessing the data from the peculiar gift, Clain ends up summoning a girl-shaped avatar named Nessa. Together they start a journey as they discover the truth behind the Fractale system.
