No. 6

No. 6

Introduction

Many years ago, after the end of a bloody world war, mankind took shelter in six city-states that were peaceful and perfect... at least on the surface. However, Shion—an elite resident of the city-state No. 6—gained a new perspective on the world he lives in, thanks to a chance encounter with a mysterious boy, Nezumi. Nezumi turned out to be just one of many who lived in the desolate wasteland beyond the walls of the supposed utopia. But despite knowing that the other boy was a fugitive, Shion decided to take him in for the night and protect him, which resulted in drastic consequences: because of his actions, Shion and his mother lost their status as elites and were relocated elsewhere, and the darker side of the city began to make itself known. Now, a long time after their life-altering first meeting, Shion and Nezumi are finally brought together once again—the former elite and the boy on the run are about to embark on an adventure that will, in time, reveal the shattering secrets of No. 6.

Overview: The post-apocalyptic/dystopian genre is one that has taken many different forms over the years, but it generally involves a group of people's fight for survival in a future where everybody has it rough. "No.6" is an earnest attempt at doing something fresh with the genre, downplaying the science-fiction and survival elements in favour of examining a conflict between those who have everything and those who have nothing. Unfortunately, a unique setting and some great visuals do the bare minimum to hold up what is ultimately a rushed, if still respectable experience. Story (6/10): The story first opens in the titular No. 6, a city where people's values are judged practically from the moment they're born. Shion is a young boy who lives as an elite citizen and was chosen for a specia…

Who is the audience for this? The BL is barely 2 goodbye pecks on the lips, and it's barely any romance overall with the leads being at best acquaintances who have almost no character consistency, wildly oscillating between: annoyance, abuser/enabler, friend, etc. on a dime, yet most of these characters who were actively going to slit each others' throats will randomly become willing to give their lives to help them. All the characters are terrible, lacking in almost any personality beyond grumbling aside from the innocent goodboy non-character MC who may as well have been a golden retriever dog, at least then the timewasting filler dialogue/nonromance would've been avoided (and the filler dog hotel/girl subplot could've actually gone somewhere, goddamn android dog MC saving the dogs par…

This is a case where reading the manga before watching the anime ruined the show for me. While they are very similar, in that they hit most of the same plot points. The art style and pacing changes that the anime made caused me to not enjoy it. The manga artwork was clean and very pretty, with a lot of details that gave it a unique feel. The anime's art style on the other hand oversimplifies a lot of the designs and lacks the unique charm the original had. I also felt that the manga did a better job of creating an atmospheric mood. The tone shifts between happy moments and action/horror was a highlight of the manga but was lost for me in the anime. In summary, if you have not read the manga you might enjoy this anime quite a bit since the story is still good and the characters are mor…

This is by far one of the most beautifully made anime I've ever laid my eyes on! The plot was fascinating and unique, and I can't stop thinking about the characters! Their personalities really left a mark! ^^ And the fact that the feelings between the main characters were shown in a more realistic way and not shoved in your face, made it a much more pleasant watch and made me root for them^^ When I think about it, I can't say I've come across another anime with the same premise and I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to see a special episode, though I'm pretty sure it won't happen since it's ages since this anime aired.. This is absolutely an anime I would recommend to others who prefer to watch animes that are not as ‘plain’ as others may be ^^

No.6 was an anime that I always hoped would come back with a good story of utopia and dystopia, but it fails in both. If it weren't for his good visuals giving him a heavier look, he would fail more than he already has. I always try to look favorably on teenage characters, giving the opportunity to any author, but it's difficult to have an unbearable character with an out-of-the-ordinary morality that harms and fluctuates in a disgusting way. Getting in the way until the last minute of the anime. Whatever final plot would be shown, I no longer cared about almost any character. The soundtrack, dialogues, characters make anyone move away from the work that could be mature and serious, but instead opts for the adolescent cliché and unsalted youth drama.

Just finished watching "No.6," and I'm still reeling from the experience. From the very first episode, the story grabbed hold of me and didn't let go. The plot twists kept me guessing at every turn, and I was constantly on the edge of my seat. But it was the ending that really got to me—I won't spoil it, but let's just say there were tears involved. The action scenes were pulse-pounding, and the animation was absolutely stunning. And don't even get me started on the soundtrack—it added so much depth to the atmosphere, especially that hauntingly beautiful ending theme. Overall, "No.6" left me with a mix of emotions—emptiness from saying goodbye to the characters I'd grown to love, yet happiness for having experienced such a remarkable journey. If you're looking for a series that will keep y…

This was such a confusing and disappointing anime. The pacing was too fast and at some point the plot kind of lost me. The ending was horrible, nothing really made sense. I think that the only thing that carries this show is its characters. However, some of them are pretty inconsistent and the most annoying one was Nezumi. Also is it just me or Nezumi and Shion's relationship was a bit toxic at the beginning? Like, whenever Nezumi would get angry on something that Shion did, he would start to yell at Shion and occasionally punch him. I think it got better in the last 2 episodes and I know this is not supposed to be a romance anime, but still... it's not a very good queer representation in my opinion. Yes, obviously abuse also happens in gay relationships, but Nezumi was never called out fo…

Damn. That shit kinda sucked. I dont even know why i watched it. The cats were dogs tho. The story was kinda weird. I dont even remember what happened. The art style was good. The characters were kinda weird. The reactions of them were okay tho. I dont think anyone would enjoy it tho. The boy with the white hair was too much uwu-boy. the other guy was the edgy anime protagonist. Different Anime same shit. The Webside tells me to write more about the anime but honestly idk what to tell you. If youre really really bored watch it. I think i drank while watching it. Not recommended. not even when drunk.

Anime Genre Roulette 🎰 Review 3 🎰 Sci-Fi Bingeable, intense, adrenaline rushed anime almost deserving of a perfect score No.6 does a fantastic job illustrating the dark side of the utopia, similarly to Psycho-Pass, it poses the question of what cost are you willing to pay to live in a perfect world? Speaking of perfection, one thing that's perfect about this series is the pace, it does not bore you for one second nor does it feel like a convoluted mess Unfortunately 11 episodes is very short to fit every little detail about the plot and character motivations and psyche, but it gives you just enough to be able to understand the story and connect to the characters without cramming an information overload The only couple things i wasn't a big fan of were Rikiga, let's say he's a characte…

I had seen many people talking about how good this anime is, so I decided to give it a try. At first I fell in love with the first episodes, but then I felt like the next ones were a bit "rushed" (there were many things happening at the same time, so it was quickly). If you love BL (boys love) like I do, you will feel a bit disappointed. Not many things happens between Nazumi and Shion, just a few of very fast kisses. Also they didn't confesse to each other properly. Wish I could see more about their past and how things turned out this way. The concept of their "world" is nice, but I ended up full of questions. The art is beautiful and I loved the songs. I definitely felt in a rollercoaster of emotions and of course, cried a lot in the last episodes. It's a short anime, only 12 episodes,…

I mainly watched the show for the romance. Its one of the only medias that has portrayed a LGBT couple that has a realistic and non-heteronormative dynamic. Like I could actually believe that they were in love with each other. The story telling is probably better in the manga but the anime squandered a lot of its potential. Like I did not care at all about Nezumi's whole village being burned at all. Seriously who care? They never show what and who he lost exactly nor do they show the conditions that he endures during his years long capture. They should've made the stakes higher for how dramatic the opening scene was. I know he was suppose to awaken that goddess thing, but I could not care at all about that since they developed it within ten minutes of exposition by some old man. I get that…

I was drawn to the series after seeing a bonding moment between Nezumi and Shion on YouTube (I learned it was in episode 5 while I watched the anime), which had a soundtrack play called Meguriai. I was captivated by how at peace these main characters seemed, despite the ruins surrounding them. I felt their chemistry - how at HOME they felt together. I wanted to learn more about their bond as they appeared to be complete opposites, yet they were patient as they went at each other's pace. As the song gave me feelings of nostalgia and tranquility, it truly gave me a feeling that no matter what happened, it would all be okay as long as Nezumi and Shion had each other. Keep in mind that I didn't know the characters yet or what the story was about, so I had a great first impression of the series…

“Did you hear me, Shion? I want your sperm.” Now that I have your attention… let’s talk about No.6, shall we? No.6 is set in a futuristic dystopia where even doing something as little as harboring slight discontent for the government can get you arrested. Due to this authoritarian regime, a society outside of No.6’s walls has begun to strive, its residents being those who were deemed unsavory by those in power. How will these two societies interact? Will there be war? Will the residents of No.6 finally wake up to the truth about their government? This is generally what the show is about. Or, at least it’s what the anime wants you to believe it's about. It’s hard to tell because the show is such a mess. The major problem is its pacing. No.6 is only 11 episodes long and yet it feels like no…

No. 6 hooks you with an extremely interesting and captivating 2-3 starting episodes, but by the end your sitting there thinking "what the fuck did I just watch?" The midpoint of the anime was an extreme drag. The character relationships become estranged and contradictory. The story is confusing in a bad way. It's not confusing in a way where you want to understand more and delve deep into the manga and learn about the world, it's confusing to the point where your convinced that theres no substance to it beyond its narrow scope. Skip this one if you can. Though this anime had potential, it falls face first by the midpoint and is shambling to finish by the last episode.

No.6 has a very good start but then starts to suffer. I don't know what went wrong but it is a shame. I very much enjoyed this but the story and direction just went downhill. I don't usually check manga but I had to with this one. Love, sacrifice, mystery, acceptance would be the words if I had to describe this show. Orwell 1984 also comes to mind. Art style and sounds were just fine. It was cute when it needed to be. Sometimes the animation was janky. Characters Nezumi and Shion save this show for me. I was interested in their stories and how they are going to resolve their situation. Unfortunately it falls short. Reading the manga is the right choice here or at least after you watch this go check the manga ending.

is this the good apocalyptic series?? NO! in fact this series does not explore those topics at all they just touch on it and they barely explain it...if u are looking for a series which explores the different aspects of an apocalyptical world and worldbuilding then this is not the show for u. a wasted opportunity if u ask me... but i still think this series is worth a watch..this show mainly explores the live of shion and everything is explained from his point of view and our guy shion values the relationship he has with other people more than worldbuilding which is fine ig... anyways this show is entertaining if u like romance! there isnt much of mystery well they never explain it anyways... the show is not bad by any means its just not gonna explore the worldbuilding aspect and focuses m…

Tha anime adaption is not as good as the manga beacause they left the whole plot out. But I think its still a good anime if you haven´t read the manga and you don´t expect that much. When I started watching it I was a bit confused because they changed the personality of Safu and they also changed the order of the story. They forgot about the masterminds and they changed a bit the end of the story. They also ruind Inukashi. Overall I am really dissapointed but just like I said , if you haven´t read the manga it´s probably still good. (READ THE MANGA OR THE NOVEL!!)

Do yourself a favor and do not watch this in anime form. They attempt to not only condense the original story, but also create plot that hadn't existed before. While I can't fault them for wanting more out of their female characters, it took away screentime from the development of the two male lead's relationship and they ended up cutting many key moments in their relationship. I came away with a negative view of them, the opposite of what happened when I read the manga. I've heard there is a novel, I've personally never read it, but I can vouch and say the manga is loads better than this anime.

Technically, No. 6 is a shonen ai despite not being listed as one on MAL and is a poor excuse for one. I do admit, I found myself rooting for them more often than once but there was no buildup to their relationship. I would like to associate it with 'Banana Fish' because neither anime deliberately said "hey they like each other" during the experience. I was almost tempted to recommend it if you liked Banana Fish but i don't think I would recommend something that i didn't enjoy nearly as much. Is it a bad anime? No, it was rather enjoyable if I'm being honest, but would I recommend it to my worst enemy? Also no because then I would be bullied for my trash taste. Story 7 - I love the plot and they could have done some much with it but some how failed. There were multiple story lines in thi…
