Guilty Crown is a blessing to the ears and the eyes.
Guilty Crown really did something special in featuring Supercell. Inori had such a good voice, and the way they incorporated the music into the show was mesmerizing.
This show did something a lot of shows can't do, it had amazing music throughout, amazing fights, and a heartfelt romance. The relationship between Inori and Shu would have you thinking you were queued up for a full-blown romance. But then the tone shifts. Shu builds up an ego from his newfound power, only to have it sheared from his hands. You watch him start to lose control of his own mind and try to save himself.
Guilty Crown has such deep emotion running through it the entire time that you just can't stop watching, it was amazing. Watching Shu unravel isn't just hea…

After watching 8 episodes, I didn't understand what was going on. One of the major problems is the show just can't seem to find a rhythm and stick to it. This show is all over the place. Things get left out that should be covered. They rush into things without decent explanations.
I'm just not getting that sense from Guilty Crown, so while it's trying to have lots of intrigue and be meaningful with complex characters it's just missing the mark and comes off as a confused jumble of characters, each with their own special mental illnesses. It still has alot of things unexplained.
The OP & ED are good and soundtracks were pretty much better, but the overall animation quality was a bit inconsistent. The story started strong, but then it got a little convoluted towards the end.

I personally enjoyed guilty crown, I think a lot of people don't like this anime because they took ideas and didn't execute on them aswell as they could have. But I think what people need to realize is when you take ideas from code geass and Evangelion a top 10 and top 15 anime of all time your probably not going to have nearly as good of a story or mc as them.
Story 5.5/10
Story has some plot holes and the story loves to jump around a lot, part of the issue with this is people are tired of them doing this so they drop the show.
Music 10/10
I had never heard of supcell/egoist before this but honestly I don't think ive seen a show with better music.
Animation 9/10
Animation is way ahead of its time and honestly is better then a lot of shows that are coming out today almost 15 years late…

Original anime are some of the more interesting in the medium to examine critically. Since there is no source material to keep the on-screen product anchored in place, the approaches taken towards original stories have tended to be hit-or-miss due to having to tell a complete story at a much quicker pace. Guilty Crown is one of the most popular original anime on the site when looking at the numbers, but its rating is a bit disproportionate to that popularity. In this review, I’ll provide some insight as to why I find this may be the case. Let’s begin.
The general narrative is post-apocalyptic and anti-establishment in tone and messaging but at the core, this is an action sci-fi that takes place in the near future. When looking at the general flow of events, there are two inflection points…

This show is a weird one for me.
Visually? Pretty good. The animation and art direction are clean and stylish, not mind-blowing, but definitely enjoyable to watch.
The soundtrack? Yep, also solid. Some tracks hit just right and added a lot to the mood.
But man…
The story starts strong and then kind of falls apart midway, and I was just sitting there like: bro, what the hell is going on?!
I mean, I was into it at first but by the end I was just rolling with it to see how wild it would get.
The characters weren’t bad at all. Some of them were pretty interesting and had a lot of potential, but it felt like a few of them didn’t get enough development or depth to really shine. There were glimpses of something great, but not all of it was fully explored.
The ending didn’t land for me either.…

To be honest, i just watched the anime due to the opening, since its a banger, but still wanted to know what it was all about.
The anime truly feels like if you give the creator of code geass a low budget and stamp in a low budget storyline. The characters are mid, at best, the protagonist is pretty annoying, and its very cliche in some regards.
So instead of having the great nation attack the organization of lelouch we instead have the great nation attacking the organization of a blonde guy who was in love with a girl that rejected him, but somehow that girl was the epiloge of a virus and idk man, the wars, the tactics and everything just seem like a straight copy paste of code geass, the characters feel less inspiring, but somehow is enjoyable.
I would say what saves the anime is pretty…

Ok so guilty crown was a fun watch. Lets get into it!
Animation- 8.5/10
The first thing that I found impressive about guilty crown was the sick animation. For it's time it was amazing and a visual treat.
Music- 7/10
The music was also good and praised by many but in my opinion it was just “good”. Story and plot 6.5/10
Without spoiling much i would say that the overall story of guilty crown was disappointing. It had a lot of potential but in the end plot holes everywhere.
Mana's powers, the whole apocalypse viruse logic, shu's sudden character development - it all kinda happens cause the writers wanted it to. They don't explain it in a way that truly makes sense. And the ending feels like everything happened for nothing, just for the vibes.
Characters- 6.5/10
They were fine. I reall…

Guilty Crown. An anime that aired in 2011-2012 and was especially popular because of its catchy openings and stunning animation.
I must say ,going into Guilty Crown blind, without having seen or heard spoilers and
only knowing the MAL score of the series, I had quite a lot of expectations.
This is one of my first ,few reviews, but I felt the need to write one for this absolute circus of madness.
The first half of the story (episode 1 - 12) focuses on the cliche archetype of :"boy with hidden past and memory loss meets emotionless girl and gains power to save the girl and the world".if done properly , a series like this can yield great results, however this wasn't the case here. It's a mix of all the generic tropes one can imagine ,mashed into an amalgamation of "soulless". Up until epi…

Guilty Crown is a typical anime from the early 2010's. The apocalypse happens in the near future and people get powers in order to prevent it from happening while another group tries to end the world. The art is incredible, I love the OST, the action scenes are great, overall it's quite enjoyable.
Getting that out the way, I think the way people think about this anime is very interesting and strange. It seems as when the anime just aired other reviewers saw it as a "blatant cash grap", a "predictable plotline" and "unoriginal". However, as time had moved on, reviews in the 2020's see the negatives as more with the pacing and the unnecessary plot twist of the second half.
Could it be that anime fans' priority has changed over time? The amount of isekais has made us dull to these supposed…

This is a series I had put off for many years due to the very conflicting reviews /comments from the 2010's that turned me away from it at the time. But recently I had a friend praise it up and down and I decided I might as well give it a shot and I do not regret that decision now.
Guilty Crown is simply put, good. Not great, certainly not bad, just good. The first half of the show moved pretty fast and had me questioning Shuu's motivations and if he'd even be interesting enough to want to watch to the end. As the show progresses however he goes from a 2 to an 8 for me. The containment arc in particular was easily the best part and showed Shuu's development and seeing him have great moments of weakness yet never truly breaking in the end of it all was very refreshing to see and made me li…

Pretty Underrated, dont know why there is alot of negative reviews its pretty solid.
Art - 8/10 The animation is really good for the time, the effects are above average. But the animation is very stuck in its time. It isn't "Bad" But that time had probably the worst animation, it doesnt feel classic and doesnt feel modern so it just sits in the middle.
Characters - 8/10 Enemies are sweet, Main characters are sweet, no characters suck. A Pretty solid cast overall.
Story - 9/10 Even though i havent seen code geass it reminds me of it, could rip from it a little but does it realllyyy well. The story has moments where too much happens and moments where it takes its time and really cooks.
OST/Sound Design - 10/10 Holy shit the soundtrack is amazing, music really enhances the whole show. Sou…

This anime is one of the reasons why you should try some pieces based on your own consideration, not based just on reviews.
The anime is circling around symbolism a lot. And in the middle of the anime, also as at the end of it, I just told myself "this anime is a lot of like Neon Genesis Evangelion". I don't mean it's some copy or even cheap one on top of that. It simply does a great job with symbolism, characters and story. Not even talking about that great music, both in openings/endings as well as some background music.
Synopsis nor the first 1-2 episodes will be able to properly tell you what to expect, you just must give it a try. It's one of those sci-fi mecha anime which isn't concentrated around mecha stuff. It's more like a psychological drama with everything you can dream of.…

Guilty Crown is one of those animes you either love or hate
Soundtrack is probably the strongest part of the show with ryo from Supercell and Hiroyuki Sawano both at their peak composing beautiful and stunning songs/soundtracks for the show, also this anime marks the debut of Egoist a fictional band created by ryo from Supercell and with vocals from Chelly so if you like Egoist/Supercell/Hiroyuki Sawano you will love this anime regardless of other issues.
Characters Design is second strongest part of the show with illustrator Redjuice from Supercell creating the world setting, its characters and how they look, the mecha designs are futuristic yet unique, the world looks colorful, unique and futuristic and the characters and their attire are very unique, beautiful and very recognizable for Red…

“Guilty Crown” is a visually stunning and emotionally charged anime that takes you on a rollercoaster of action, drama, and suspense. The series is set in a post-apocalyptic world where a deadly virus has ravaged Japan, earning it a well-deserved rating of 8/10 for its setting. This dystopian backdrop provides a rich and intriguing environment for the unfolding story.
The animation is top-notch, with beautifully designed characters and breathtaking action sequences that keep you on the edge of your seat.
The story revolves around Shu Ouma, a high school loner who obtains a mysterious power that allows him to extract weapons from people’s hearts. As he becomes entangled in the conflict between rebel forces and the oppressive government, he must make difficult choices that have far-reachin…

This show is had some very strong points in the first half, but then it just went downhill and got lost up its own butt. It looks like it was meant to end in episode 12. Its the second half where everything falls apart. I will try to do this without a wall of text. So I will just mention some things about it that are impossible to ignore. First things first, Inori is an awful character. Are we supposed to like her because she has pink hair? She has no personality, she mumbles and never shows any spark or smile. Not even one scream or outburst of anger, not one cocky comment. No she just mumbles and whispers. Some idiots and writers want to pretend that boring people are cool, they aren't. She acts the way your already SHY girlfriend behaved when she first met your parents. She is never rel…

Watch this if you don't hate Mecha and Dark theme. Besides that, I don't see any shortcomings with this anime.
Story: This is a dark-themed anime so don't expect peaches and cakes! The right amount for 22 episodes, the plot is magnetic, the characters engaging, a good amount of satisfying action scenes, and believable surprises. 3 points
Directing: Very well done, it clearly conveys the messages the story is trying to tell. 2 points
Art: Well done, good aesthetics, and beautiful world-building. 2 points
Characters: Delightful characters both the villains and heroes do their jobs perfectly. 1 point
Personal Preference: I enjoy dark animes, I love dystopian animes, and I'm a slave to stories in which the cost of victory is high. This story checks all of these boxes. While I would have p…

Guilty crown... a show that wasted a lot of potential. What started off as an interesting dytopian drama eventually became a giant mess consisted of 1D characters, dumb power ups, plot armor and fillers.
There was an outbreak of the virus called "The apocalypse virus". Under the pretense of saving the people of Japan, the United Nations removed Japan's entire political autonomy in the process of setting up the epidemiological precautions. Ten years after the outbreak Japan still doesn't have its own autonomy (hello, Code Geass). A certain group of rebels led by Gai Tsugusami, among whom is the singer Inori Yuzuriha, steal the so-called "Void genome". Once the United Nations find out their Void genome was stollen, they attack Inori and then our protagonist, Shu, appears to be nearby and he…

MINOR SPOLIERS!!!!!!
Yet another review claiming that Guilty Crown deserves better treatment from the viewers. I'll be bitching about the series for a while and I'll get to as why I think that it deserves better towards the end. This is my very first mecha anime, so I will only be talking about GC and completely ignore the fact that the plot is adapted from many popular series.
To sum it up, the anime follows an average run-of-the-mill self-loathing high schooler who obtains special powers accidentally and gets caught up in a series of events, which goes on to revolutionize the entire world, after he helps out his idol, the insanely beautiful and mesmerizing singer Inori, who also happens to be a part of an extremist group, viewed as terrorists by the government.
Like everyone has point…

... I just finished watching this show, and... Well, no matter how much i try to translate what i feel into words, i can't. But i'll still try.
Story.
From the very start, if you have more than 5 braincells or are not completely hypnotised by the show, then you'll notice this one is one of those shows where you are given the strict minimum info right up until the end, where they'll dump a mountain of it on you. However, even if you do realise that, the show manages to tease you along the way regardless, making you feel like you're licking the plate after eating your favourite food. Well, at least it made me feel like that. Well, i don't want to spoil any more, so i'll just add this: don't expect to understand anything until the last 2 episodes, but expect to be left utterly confused at th…
