Fun anime as long as you ignore the 20 million plot holes in the show, especially during the first half when they give no explanation to anything. Also the ending is really weird, I wont spoil anything but it's very polarising and the more I think about it the dumber it gets, some assholes get way too happy endings and (not saying who) but someone gets the worst, awful, biblical punishment possible and they treat it like a good thing.
The side characters, with a few exceptions, are all fun. Especially tomori and the glasses guy (I forgot his name but iykyk)
The anime is fun but just don't think about it for more than 5 minutes after you finish it.

Painfully mediocre how.
It has a good simple premise, but it is executed in such a bland way ...
Idk honestly why so many anime have this problem, start with a somewhat interesting premise, and then have 0 imagination or depth when exploring it. Every part of this how is just simple and creatively bankrupt.
I said it's "painfully" mediocre because all the ingredients are here - interesting premise, decent characters, something resembling a possible romance between main guy and white-haired girl, even a very good 'twist' or rather an interesting turn around of the plot happens midway through the show. And just when you think - oh okay, now they are getting serious and the real show starts - think again. They change the status quo in a way, but again in the most boring bland way, they do not…

To preface, I think this show is mid, kinda cringe, and relies heavily on character tropes and static character personalities. It has its dimly bright moments with scenes that I audibly chuckled at and interesting premise... That being said, the comedy is mostly cringe and they really fall short in executing a good premise, failing to develop the characters in any meaningful way.
But the real reason I wanted write a review was cuz of episode 7. It's not really a spoiler for the plot and honestly everything that happens in the episode I have discuss below is absolutely inconsequential. The review is more for people who's already watched that episode. SO LAST CHANCE, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED... alright good
I had a straight hoot and a holler with Episode 7. Main protagonist Yuu goes on a rampag…

With "Charlotte", I may have well come across the anime that embodies the choice on MAL that is "mixed feelings". Because, I have had quite an emotional journey but found myself very bored all in the short span of 13 episodes. Allow me to expand upon this...
I really had no idea what to expect going into this title. "Charlotte"? Does it take place in North Carolina? Well, it does in fact take place in Japan. where we're introduced to Yuu Otosaka. He's a high school student with an extraordinary gift that he's used to his advantage to get ahead in life. But, surprise, he's not the only gifted teenager around. He's quickly scooped by Nao and her friends. She's from a school where the gifted are forced to transfer for their own protection as the gifted teens who are caught by the government…

This is my 153rd anime and my 1st review, but basically this review is for myself to remind me that this is one of the masterpieces which I have seen up until now and I am glad for it. Although the ending was a little rushed and I felt it a little incomplete, the story itself was too good for me. If anyone reads this by chance I would gladly recommend watching it because it has everything a good story and anime itself need. It has good animation, light comedy, is wholesome at points and has a light hearted romance too.
A very good anime indeed in my eyes and I am pleased with it enough to write my first review.
Thank You

I don't usually write a review, but I feel like that I need to share my thoughts on why Charlotte scored only 6 out 10.
The visuals are really pretty, I won't claim it's the most beautiful you may find but the animation was fluid and consistent, nothing was out of place and colour choices, brightness, details were spot on.
The sound and music is amazing, rewatching the opening made me realise how much meaning there is in the lyrics and how well thought out the show was.
Further more music can be really important to teenagers to the point they are obsessed with a band, Charlotte gets this right.
The English dub was not very good, it's better to watch in Japanese with subtitles.
Highschoolers with super powers? I know, such a cliche and common theme, but Charlotte is surprisingly unique as…

tl;dr: It’s a good anime. It has a very strong beginning, but a very rushed climax, and the episodes feel too short.
This is another one of those anime I had been meaning to watch for years. Today I finally did, and these are my conclusions:
Art:
The art is colorful. At first glance it looks like it was made for a romantic comedy anime, and it’s not unpleasant, but as the plot progresses and becomes more complex, it feels out of place during serious moments. At least that’s my opinion...
Music:
The OST is average. Of course, it has some very good and spectacular songs (the animated concert ones), but honestly none of the others stuck in my head or had me humming them.
Story:
A very interesting story, set in a world where teenagers develop powers as a result of puberty, and the contrast…

Charlotte, genuinely a great piece of fiction 9/10
I had a little hopes going into the show, something to watch cause I was bored. But this show really is something else if you enjoy deep, cutting emotional moments and sometimes sappy love stories than this one is for you.
I enjoyed the animation, especially for the time that it came out. It has a nostalgic feel, probably will watch again hopefully with my future girlfriend lol
The show consistently brought a sense of calm and then quickly shifted to a sense of urgency and fearfulness in what was happening to the characters. From a simple question to a full on beat down, making you scared for what was going to happen to the characters
Highly recommend 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗

First off, this is definitely not a romance. There's a sliver of it at the end, but not enough to justify a "romance" label.
That being said, this show is one of the better ones. Two main areas stood out to me most:
1. The story; which is one of those wonderfully interesting and innovative tales that are a big part of why I fell in love with anime. Pacing, however, was where it suffered. Much like Steins:Gate, the first several episodes moved like a moderately standard, maybe even a bit slow, slice of life, with an added element of the supernatural for some spice. Not unusual, until that one episode suddenly hits you in the face with a brick (also like Steins:Gate) and things go very dark, VERY fast. From that point on, everything felt rushed and crammed together. There were many instance…

Overview:
While Key/Visual Arts are most famously known for their creation of visual novels like "Kanon" and "Clannad", they've also been involved in the creation of several original anime as well. One such anime is "Charlotte", which in addition to not being based off a visual novel is a departure from the usual tearjerking, slice-of-life stories Key generally specialise in, being a rare story about people with superpowers that doesn't fall into the superhero genre. Sadly, experience has taught me that originality isn't always a good thing, and "Charlotte" never even comes to close to matching the quality of most of Key's other stories.
Story (6.5/10):
"Charlotte" tells the story of Yuu Otosaka, a first-year high school student with a power that allows him to possess any individual. Usin…

It is an emotional rollercoaster. Never imagined the twists that we saw in this anime. Unique and unpredictable story. Characters were very realistic. Also there was considerable foreshadowing also.
I had to re-watch it. One of the best animes ever. I hope Maeda san sees this review. It is my favourite anime.
Art style is also good. Opening song and insert songs were also good.
The ending was superb. Unexpected but quite good and fitting to the story.
First 5 episodes are little boring but after that major plot development happens and story becomes peak. It surpassed my expectations. By the way there was an gel beats cameo also in episode 7. That episode was a rollercoaster on its own. My favourite episode ever.

The Charlotte series has completely won me over and I have totally fallen in love with this series.💗 I got to this series thanks to a song on YouTube, but I only really saw the clip with one eye and I expected something completely different from the series than I got. The beginning is great and I like how it seems to be a more intimate story. Moreover, the first episodes gradually tend to be somewhat repetitive episodic experiences, however, that changes drastically in one episode. I really didn't expect that one event and I found it quite cruel that it really happened, even though according to the aforementioned song I suspected that things could turn for the better. The series then also comes with several other brilliant twists and manages to convey so much in 13 (14) episodes. I have p…

This drama is to watch while you wait for your other drams to release their episodes. This was only to pass the time.
The first 9 episodes were actually okay with them dealing with ability wielders, even if the powers were basic and common and we didn't really got emotionally involved with any of them, it went downhill from there and fast with new characters popping up even when they haven't fleshed out the ones we already knew.
Yu, the main character I liked him in the first episode, that was the only time I liked any of the characters. We never got attached to anyone as none of the characters were developed.

Charlotte shows itself with a familiar supernatural premise but quickly shifts into something more emotionally complicated. The story takes place in a world where a small number of teenagers temporarily develop special abilities during adolescence. These powers appear suddenly, last only for a few years, and eventually disappear once adulthood arrives. Because the phenomenon remains largely unknown to the public, those who possess abilities often try to hide them to avoid exploitation or unwanted attention. At the center of the story stands Yuu Otosaka, a high school student who possesses a very unusual ability. Rather than controlling objects or manipulating elements, Yuu can temporarily take control of another person’s body for a few seconds. The original body becomes unconscious while Y…

This anime is extremely hard to not spoil, so I can't explain much about what the anime is about.
All I can say is that the first few episodes are hard to get into, as it seems somewhat cringey and similar to Chuunibyo. Once you get past the first half, however, the story is absolutely a gem and it had a great twist and ending. Overall, it's somewhat rushed though. I wish this anime could have been longer, as each episode can feel like you're skipping through a lot of story and more like a summarization of what happens. Hell, the last episode on its own could be its own series. The relationship and character building feels somewhat weak as well for being an anime centralized around character development and growth.
If you have a ton of time and nothing else to do, I'd give it a shot. If…

The ending of all time, what a tear jerker when Yuu told Tomari you are the Charlotte, peak fiction
The show started well, it wasn't amazing or anything but it had a fun premise and characters were likable and they had cool designs, the nerd guy who simps for the idol was annoying and his joke wore thin from the first time they did it and they try to force an emotional moment at the start and it didn't work, made me roll my eyes at it, but aside from this it was fine it was cliche but it had a cool vibe with the aesthetics of the show and the animation.
Midpoint through the story the MC suddenly became an edge lord following an incident that happened to him and the whole thing started and ended in an episode, it didn't feel earned and just came out as embarrassing. This moment here for…

Charlotte is an anime about teenagers with super powers that disappear when they finish puberty; and it is one of the best anime I've ever seen.
Animation: Charlotte's animation is standard, with the moments that matter having better animation than usual, but that is to be expected, and it fit that expectation.
Characters: The character's in Charlotte have standard designs, even so, you are able to tell who is who after your first watch (and if you aren't able to, I highly recommend putting down your phone while watching anime)
Plot: I want to tell you what the plot is without spoiling it so have this; it's pretty interesting!
Notes: I write my reviews small and I try to make them in a way that most people can digest easily, considering that more and more people are becoming TikTok bra…

I personally enjoyed the neding of this show a lot
The first 10 eps were alright.. nothing really special. Nothing bad either i was going to give it a solid "fine"
but the last part of it i enjoyed more than i thought that i would have!
May not be worth sticking around though for others but. i thought it was at least worth the watch!
The main character i did think was a little lack luster and just fits the MC roll as what they thought it should have been but really he feels pretty empty in my opinion im not sure why. maybe i just didnt vibe with him!

This show feels rushed, simple as that, it doesn't take the proper amount of time to develop the story or characters, nor their relationships, just constantly jumping from one scene to the other, without much explanation, then suddenly changing tone when a plot thing happens, trying to force a loose tie in with a mystery thingy from the middle to the end.
It feels like a work started by one person and ended by another, where 2 conflicted views of what the show was supposed to be clashed and the worse one won. They even managed to shoe horn a time traveling thingy, that personally just made it all feel worse for the dark story they tried to introduce later on. In some parts it felt like an attempt at Angel Beats, but lacked everything that made that show great, not even the MC's romantic…
