Kinda underrrated if I say so myself. This anime is actually impressive imo. It's one the anime I'm glad to find of all the other. It's a mix between mystery and romance so it's fun to watch and see them figure things out and each others backstory. Haven't gone through the ova so I'm not entirely sure on what's going to happen and just finishing of on the series doesn't feel so rewarding for me. The story do get a bit single character focused sometimes which is a bit annoying but not entirely. Don't really have anything bad to say about this anime overall.

Too bad MAL score can only be a full number, otherwise this would be a 6,5. It´s ok, but far from being exceptional, as both story and characters aren´t that good.
This is a high school drama, so if you are really into it, it might be worth it to give it a shot. However, at least for me, there are two problems: the characters and the weak plot. First, Fuuzenkazura is essentially useless, he is supposed to be the main villain, but 70% of his dialogue has no impact and could have been said by any other character of the main cast and trust me the result would be much better;
Now the main cast: Only Inaban and Yui get decent arcs. The protagonist - Yaegashi - is mid at best and Aoki suffers from being the 2nd male of the cast. If you have watched many anime and even some western animation y…

I finally finished watching Kokoro Connect and honestly it was a bit of a rollercoaster for me. I remember starting the first episode feeling like okay this is going to be just another high school anime, but by episode two I was already hooked. The concept of these random body swaps and weird emotional phenomena felt unique and honestly kind of unsettling in the best way. You can tell the writers really wanted to dig into what it means to truly understand someone else.
I have to say Taichi as the main guy grew on me a lot. At first he seemed like your typical nice-guy character, but the way he reacts to each situation shows a surprising level of patience and thoughtfulness. I found myself rooting for him to just be able to handle all the emotional chaos the Heartseed keeps throwing at the…

I had written a review for this show before, but it was so terrible and I had AI help me doing so, I'm a different person now. Though it might be as terrible or worse, you know I at least poured my heart and soul into this, here we go.
It. Was. Freaking. Amazing.
The first time I watched this show was in middle school, and my brain hadn't developed quite yet, so everything didn't really get into my dense and silly 15-year-old me. Now 19, I'm glad to say that this show is even better than I remembered, it dives into many deeper topics and experiences some people are afraid to talk about, and the characters are only highschoolers! I'm in awe, seeing each character having their own personalities and struggles, it makes me relate with all of their actions and behaviors. The plot twists, they…

At Yamaboshi Academy, club participation is mandatory. 5 independent & solitary kids end up forming a club to hide the fact that 🅾 of them actually found a club: The Cultural Research Club. Its English acronym is STUCS - like, stuck, which describes our 5 leads. (I doubt that's by accident. English puns are common in East Asian features). "Every organization is bound to have a few rogue elements," we're told. It adds up to good writing. KC opens w/ an aerial shot & then we /zoom into/ our 5 main protags' lives.

This review covers both the first season and the OVA of Kokoro Connect, focusing mainly on the characters and their flaws.
The plot of Kokoro Connect was quite interesting, but how it was executed was terrible. In particular, the characters were very shallow and inconsistent. Even though the plot had potential, the fact that there were so many forced drama loops instead of character development and growth made the show as a whole feel bland.
- Taichi is portrayed as the "perfect character," and his only problem in the show is that he is so selfless that he thinks he is selfish for wanting to help others (???). This makes him seem very one-dimensional and shallow.
- Iori was shown as the very cheerful person who made everyone happy the entire first season, but then the OVA did a 180 for no…

Decided to re-watch this masterpiece again. And, oh boy, it aged like a fine wine. The story is still attached to me to this day. An emotion of rollercoaster this was—a good one.
Let's start this review off with the animation. I am actually impressed with how well the animation is. I thought it would age poorly but no. For an anime that is 12 years old by now, it still looks gorgeous. Even more fluent than some of the newer anime.
Then the OST. I remember being so into it. The soundtrack is just phenomenal. Even when I listen to it again, it's just too good. Ah, the nostalgia is kickin' in with this one.
Story-wise. I actually have a problem. Well, a minor problem. You see this is the only series that in every arc, it's disconnected apart. What I meant by that is every problem/phenomeno…

I have genuinely impressed myself writing something so long for an anime like this, and resorting to so much profanity, but lo and behold: this is what Kokoro Connect does to a man. If you're in the mood for riding a shitstorm, get ready because this is gonna be a big one. Spoilers for the entire anime ahead, though trust me, you're better off this one. If you want a spoiler-less TLDR, read the last paragraph.
So, Kokoro Connect. Despite its efforts to bring out something convincing, like seemingly solid characters and a decent story setting, this anime unfortunately ends up in a fucking disaster, to put simply. Especially when it comes to dialogue and drama, this anime goes way too south. Even for supernatural standards, the actions of our heroes range from unrealistic to blatantly stupi…

Putting a bunch of ordinary high schoolers in extreme situations in hopes to break the egg’s shell and forcibly scoop out the dwellers within them is nothing new in fiction. Kokoro Connect decides to be quite meta about it, so with all this, I should excuse the incessant shouting from the characters like it’s a competition of being the loudest person in the world. They definitely should be a mile radius away from any voice-amplifying devices.
Every episode is expectedly filled with drama from a slice-of-life story with a twist embodied by Heartseed’s (whose origins were never elaborate in the slightest) interference on their everyday lives, but considering that the various phenomena occur arbitrarily for the main characters due to the random nature, which can still be controlled by the fo…

This was a great watch. I haven't run into something this psychological before and it took a lot for me to take in and understand each individual episode. I did three at a time so I could process and figure out where things were going.
The situations that occurred in here were random but definitely obscure. Serious credit goes to the author. It showed to me that they are highly intelligent and psychologically sound and possibly proficient.
I was really happy with things and how they were going until about the end of episode 11 when I realized how much needed to be resolved and I had full faith that it would be. And I got a "very close but not quite" kind of feeling out of it. I wish that we had a little more background on the antagonist, just a little, to help us get a better idea of wha…

Incredibly interesting concept, but the MC is a copy paste of every other "perfect nice guy" self insert for the dorks in their 30's who live vicariously through pictures on a screen because they're unsatisfied with how their life went, which is fine for that demographic but it totally ruins what could have easily been a 10/10 if executed correctly. First few episodes of the show were chef's kiss, but after the first phenomenon it devolves into a big old nothing burger with some of the worst character writing and dialogue of any show I've watched since 4kids yu-gi-oh. On top of the controversy with the dirtbag producer, I'm just left with a bad taste in my mouth after finishing this show.

Kokoro Connect is an interesting case for me. The anime was a blast to watch through, having amazing build-ups and great character growth for almost all of the characters throughout... and then the ending came. Nothing at all was resolved in the ending of the main series, it was just an ending. It left me confused as the plot line seemed unfinished with many holes left in it... until I figured out that the proper ending is in the OVA Kokoro Connect: Michi Random. I don't understand why they couldn't just add 4 more episodes to the season and properly wrap up the anime, letting it enjoy a proper ending without killing off part of the fanbase.
Overall though, 6/10.

NOTE: I will be talking merely about the 13 episodes presented in kokoro connect, and not about the remaining 4 episodes. I will also include some SLIGHT spoilers, so if you haven't watched the anime don't read unless you don't mind getting spoiled.
Now, I will preface this by saying that this is my first review. I haven't ever really put much thought into rating an anime, so therefore I have thought a bit about this. First off, this is by no means a bad anime. 7 is good. However, there were a lot of things that weren't executed properly which leave the anime in an "ok-goodish" state. Let me elaborate:
Story (8):
The premise of the story is, in short, that these 5 high school students go through a series of strange, supernatural and unpredictable phenomena that are supposed to force som…

Kokoro Connect is an anime of the romance variety, in this anime 5 high school friends are cursed in various ways across the show by a supernatural being that possesses one of there teachers bodies. The curses forces the friends to reveal there secrets they would rather not tell which is entertaining to this supernatural creature. (before I explain my own opinion I would like to point out I'm also using the sequel episodes in my review)
The story (9): of this show is actually really amazing, I always liked how they set up characters in the beginning so that we could see how they would deal with the curse later. the drama never really felt overdone, and they deal with mystery extremely well. I always liked how the mystical being was never really explained he came and went he was a mystery…

This review includes the 4 OVA "sequel"
Kokoro Connect is about a group of 5 friends that begin to experience supernatural phenomena amongst themselves and how they deal with them. The first being body-switching (like in Kimi no Na wa).
CHARACTERS - 10/10
The characters are EASILY the best part about this show. While none of them are close to perfect (especially one Nagase Iori… more on this later lol), together they form an extremely interesting and entertaining group. Their dynamics, banter, dialogue, and relationships with one another constantly had me grinning, giggling, and feeling devastated at times. Their individual developments each strike the right chords within you that makes you adore each and every character.
PLOT - 7/10
Okay so anyone that k…

Worth a watch, if you like:
good story
drama,like really intense drama
lhigh school romance
The story is about mind games, like body shifting, age shifting(or whatever you call that when your body and mind becomes younger at a random age, even if it's 5 month old baby), emotional telepathy, and other stuff that is a perfect concept which can be used explore character arcs with drama, because you know there's trouble when your close friends find out your deepest darkest secrets , which includes your crush.
Now with such a concept with high potential, it's in the hands of the directors to how much they are going to use this advantage to build up the romance, drama and identity crisis in these group friends which tears them apart, but fortunately. if you don't like tragic stuff, don't worry…

Kokoro Connect score might not be lowest but it definitely one of anime that disappoint me the most. Without help from Inaba characteristic, score would go down way lower than this.
I will separate review into 2 parts. During body swapping arc which last for 5 episodes and after body swapping arc.
Idea of body swapping arc is very interesting. Think about it. What going to happen when girl and boy are swapping body. How they gonna live with it? How they gonna trust each other? Sure, it’s very interesting idea. It’s all depend on how they are going to use this idea. And for this arc, I think it’s good and I’m fine with drama and story of it. Honestly, it’s little bit lower than my expectation but it’s probably just me set expectation too high. Some drama inside are overdramatic but most d…

Hi, this is my first review at MAL and I have some observations to do.
This review WILL have spoilers, as will my next ones, because I feel more comfortable writing this way and I like reading reviews that talks about specific events, so I'm doing the same.
I won't go deep at any technical terms or factors, I will just talk about what I liked in the anime and what it could've done better (better for me, so you can disagree if you want)
And last but not least, I will mainly be doing those reviews to train my English writing, since I'm a native Brazilian, and that could be a problem, because I won't be able to express myself that much, but I'll try.
Then let's start
At first glance, I didn't have any hype at all, just starting what I thought it would be another normal anime. A lot of peop…

Starting with a group of high schooler becoming friends. And the whole anime holds a place for topic of "growing up as a person"..
Dealing with past traumas, growing up a personality under the pasts thoughts and between reality while looking forward to future.
Its about the main characters are getting to learn not be afraid of knowing themselves and trying to do what ever they can "together" to improve their relationship and their personalities.
In the word of Mystery, The group trying to do what they called to deal with by a ghost(?), and the group trying to pass the tests. Every happening is shaped around the relationship between the friends and the character within himself. Every test is for something to solve and they have to get to know what it is and what to do. In the mystery sid…

This anime is a grueling fever-dream.
It's the perfect amount of generic that I would have been fine with a few years ago, perhaps, being in a certain age range would have made it possible for me to relate or even care to whatever was happening, but too many variables interchanging constantly with no breather at all killed the mood and excitement one can expect from such a show.
Kokoro Connect is a coming of age story that really target the teenage audience, is set in a school setting, featuring character hitting their puberty (maybe it was too much that they started explaining everything else as supernatural), all confused and rushed, hyperenergetic with a lot of emotional damage stress-stacked over the years.
The plot features somewhat of an interesting premise but fails miserably at ke…
