This little series of shorts made me think more fondly of Gurren Lagann. I will be honest, I don't really watch Trigger or Gainax much, though I do heavily respect them (or at least, I did respect Gainax, they kinda like... fell apart after a while. But they were good back in the day). Long story short, Gainax and Trigger works never really appealed to me except for my enjoyment of them on an animation level. I will be honest that my thoughts on Gurren Lagann, prior to checking out these shorts, were just that I remember it being "alright." Technically, everything here wouldn't really qualify as "anime", and is more along the lines of music videos. It's a good idea to come up with teaser trailer shorts, just a little market enquiry and must have been fun to do for the creators.
Dismissable except the 2nd (Champlooesque alternate) and 8th (Macross&Eva crossover with quality animation) ones.
Still there is no harm watching it if you liked the series. There are almost no spoilers since these are imaginary what if? trailers, you can barge in whatever point you are on the series.
