InuYasha: The Final Act

InuYasha: The Final Act

Introduction

Thwarted again by Naraku, Inuyasha, Kagome Higurashi, and their friends must continue their hunt for the few remaining Shikon Jewel shards, lest they fully form into a corrupted jewel at the hands of Naraku. But Naraku has plans of his own to acquire them, and will destroy anyone and anything standing in his way—even his own underlings. The persistent, unyielding danger posed by Naraku forces Sango and Miroku to decide what is most important to them—each other or their duty in battle. Meanwhile, Inuyasha must decide whether his heart lies with Kikyou or Kagome, before fate decides for him. Amid the race to find the shards, Inuyasha and his brother Sesshoumaru must also resolve their feud and cooperate for their final confrontation with Naraku, as it is a battle they must win in order to put a stop to his evil and cruelty once and for all. I can't believe this series came out in 2009... but I finally finished it. The animation is so beautiful, the colors are so vibrant and pop off the screen. As much as I love seeing this series get a slight face-lift in quality (though the original was just as good), it's too bad the studio had to rush this final season. 26 episodes sounds like a lot, but so much plot is covered, and most of the time it's hard to be in the moment with what's going on because it's just so fast-paced. One minute someone is injured, the next they're dead, then we're meant to mourn them, and we're given no time to because the plot must continue! A lot of this plot could have been cut, and I think the story would have been better. I guess this season is a lesson in the importance of good pacing and stor…

Coming from the Prequel (with its flaws, which i recognize) this one, was the other way around. The pacing was too fast, although many complained about the pacing of the previous series, i thought it matched the vibe of the story and characters well. I missed that here, it was simply too fast. I think it deserved 10 to 20 more episodes, specially coming from the previous series, but it was good to have a conclusion to the story, specially what happened with other Rimuko works like Ranma. Its funny, because we can see despite the design be the same, the diference between digital art (this one) and the prequel with i think its cell art. I feel the cell art captures better the world, but this was good also, not such a big change. Also, so glad they kept the original soundtrack and episode f…

Rewatched Inuyasha recently, and I’ve got to say I’m so happy they were able to finish it this way. The story wraps up beautifully in The Final Act. The characters show incredible growth in both maturity and development, the art got a solid animation upgrade for its time, and the openings and endings are exactly what you’d expect from a 2000s anime. The pacing was tight no drawn out arcs or unnecessary fillers. The fight scenes were more dynamic and better animated, and the relationships between the characters blossomed beautifully. This final act truly cements the love for Inuyasha, a classic and a must-watch for all anime fans.

Depending on what you're looking for in an ending, this is one of the most satisfying endings to any long-running anime or even TV s hows. There's tension, there's drama, and twists. The ending is tonally sound with the series as a whole and manages to tie up all its loose ends from the final conflict's resolution. If you enjoyed the previous anime series or you just are curious, the episodes go quickly and it's well worth the watch. I'm really glad that they were able to return and do the final part of the story. It was a treat to watch.

So its an anime, has clean lines for art, sound for the dub at least seems fine they trigger when they should. Both the art style and the audio are throw backs to the original works. The story progression is really dumbed-down, everything is narrated to a simpleton level so that children or those who are super stoned can follow it. Characters are basic which can be overlooked to a degree. The characters whole development seems to resolve around being a modern day angsty teen who is confused about what gender they should associate with. Sadly the main draw to this story is that it plays on nostalgia but like many things has been hijacked by political ideologies and propaganda and tells you so several times an episode.

What the heck is this, plot progression? I didn't know they could do that. Jokes aside it is nice to see Inuyasha finally get an ending. It was one of those shows from my childhood that when I realized had another season where the show finally ends I went and watched in it's entirety. I have to say that after the 170 some odd episodes of the first series these 26 manage to do twice as much with the characters in a fraction of the time. Arcs that had been setup nearly a decade before were finally being resolved and Naraku was finally going to get what was coming to him. As far as satisfying conclusions go? Well it did a better job than Naruto. It got a bit weird and existential, but not so much as Evangelion or the like. The bad guy maybe should have had more comeuppance, but the good guy…

*Spoiler Warning!* (I enjoyed this more then the original Inuyasha, But I feel like it still didn't deserve a 9 or 10. I don't have much to say so this may be a short review!) Story/Plot 8/10 - I feel like The Final Act was balanced when it came to fights. It was heavily focused on everyone killing Naraku, yet we still saw some other fights between the main characters and other Villains like Inuyasha and the gang vs Kanna. Speaking of Kanna, there were MANY and I mean MANY deaths in the first couple of episodes. I mean, not only did Rin die AGAIN, but Kanna and Kagura also died. Kanna's death was kind of sad because I feel like if she got out of Naraku's control, she would've been a good person. Even though she was a demon. Overall, I don't have much to say about the plot. It was pretty…

(no spoilers) Love this season! So heartfelt and a beautiful way to end the series! The only gripe I have is Kagome's lack of power, which literally did not grow from the beginning of the show. But, put that aside, I still think this was an amazing finale. It wrapped up all the loose ends in a nice bow and left us with the impact of the wonderful story and romance. Again, as with the prior series, I wished that they stuck to the art style of manga and less of the stereotypical art style of the 2000s, but I digress. To anyone who has seen Inuyasha, this is a must-watch, beautiful finale!

Reason for watching: Well, is a sequel, I watched this to wrap up a big childhood anime. I honestly thought I would leave a short review since I am still overwhelmed by this sequel... TL;DR: The story pacing is way faster than the first anime, but do not felt rushed, more of dynamic. The story stays very focused to the overarching plot, with minimal strays to unimpactful storylines. Art and Sound improved from the first anime, but the opening and ending themes cannot compare to the few well known classics that the first anime had. Story I won't go into details on what the story is about since the bulk of the plot is in the first series, and you should really watch that before coming here. And also, there is only one main story in Inuyasha, the side stories are actually more characters o…

I liked this sequel much better than the first 167 episodes, mainly because there is a lot more action and plots in this story. The first series contained a lot of filler episodes and I lost interest halfway through before I became interested in the last couple of episodes. That being said, I found they tried to wrap up like 50 episodes worth of content into this series and they attempted to make up for the fillers in the prequel. In the first episode alone, I felt so overwhelmed because I was used to the slow and chill pace, but the first episode had at LEAST 5 episodes worth of material. Despite that, I really enjoyed this series, I could tell the animation also improved a lot! I liked it better than the first season and I enjoyed it 10/10

TL;DR: Final Act is the absolute best way to top the original Inuyasha series. It ends the story perfectly (albeit with a few tears) and I'd easily say that these 26 episodes are some of the best of the entire Inuyasha franchise. L;DR It took me a long time to get around to watching Final Act because I really didn't want the show to end! But I've just finished today, and after a half hour tears session I'm finally ready to explain my thoughts. (This will just be a review on Final Act! Not on Inuyasha as a show!) SPOILERS AHEAD, MAYBE? STORY I found that the story here, though it's technically just a continuation of what was going on in Inuyasha, was a lot easier for me to follow, as a viewer. The final battle was well executed and I was mostly satisfied with the outcome of the big confl…

I had started rewatching Inuyasha to see if nostalgia holds up. I can say I enjoy Inuyasha when it doesn't try to be too serious. Plot wise it started off pretty straight forward but then by Final Act I wish it hadn't grown so convoluted. SPOILERS ALERT: THE JEWEL CAN TALK and sounds like a robotic man. Once I got to the part where Naraku is able to be like a sea algae and regenerate himself and create too many clones, my interest in Naraku and the plot waned. I was just watching for the characters which I adore to interact with each other, for the comedic moments and for Inuyasha and Kagome moments. Once I got to Final Act, I was left feeling disappointed. I sort of even regretted watching through it. I felt in the beginning, Inuyasha was really strong because it didn't try to complic…

This review will deal with Inuyasha's first and second season (Kanketsu-hen). Showing a bit of the differences that exist between the two, so there will be some spoilers, but don't worry, I'll let you know beforehand when you are talking about one. Story / Plot: A brief summary for you who want to watch: Inuyasha tells the story of a girl named Kagome who is the reincarnation of a miko (priestess) from a time when Japan was still feudal and her fellow Inuyasha, a hanyou (a half-breed) , which has the heart of both a Youkai and a human, which due to some events were forced to recover the shikon no tama or shikon jewel which has now been shattered into various fragments and spread throughout the world. Since I didn't read the manga, I'll just refrain from talking about adapting the story sh…

An excellent continuation to one of my favorite animes. Once again, the stories were almost always interesting throughout, and if anything they were even better than the original, as since it was only 26 episodes long the plot was much tighter and faster paced. There were only a few weaker stories which fell back on medieval fantasy cliches, and sometimes the pacing was a bit TOO fast. The new, modern animation looks fantastic throughout, and the art style still looks very nice. There were a lot of lovely scenes in the show. The action scenes were just as exciting as ever, with some being overall highlights as the animation was much more modern and looked better. The humor and emotion remained solid, like in the original series, as the comedic and emotional episodes both hit their ma…

Oh my god. Where to begin with this series. I loved it, it was a really enjoyable series to watch. The characters where hilarious and had unique personalities. The story was magnificent and the build up towards the end was amazing. This series defiantly takes number one on my favourites list. For an anime that was made awhile ago it has amazing story and character development. I watched the entire series in one go ,watching it everyday because its so enjoyable. It never ceases to amuse me the way the characters argue and how comedic it is when Kagome returns home with InuYasha. If you haven't seen this series I highly recommend watching InuYasha and The Finale Act, they are both amazing series that deserver the best praise.

InuYasha The Final Act in a word: 10/10 Like I said in my review for Inu Yasha: The first part of Inu Yasha felt very 90's (animation, music, and voice acting), but all that drastically improves in the Final Act. It looks and sounds wonderful. (No Spoilers, so chill) This series wraps up the story and holds the big conclusion that we've all been waiting for. And lemme just say, it is executed beautifully. There is no way it could have ended better. I was biting my nails up to the final episode. Fantastic simply fantastic. This is definitely one of those animes that I will be wanting to re-watch up until my death bed, and even then I'm sure Jesus probably already has this whole series on Blue-ray.

WOAH~! That was quite the journey! Finished watching this last arc of InuYasha with my friend today. I've always loved the show ever since it used to be a thing on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim segment back in the early 2000's. I believe most will agree with me that this final season, which many were waiting for for a long time after the first anime had ended, was the best! Everything was straight to the point. There was no beating around the bush, the story progressed at a better pace. You felt hate, you felt pity, anger, sadness, love and understanding in only 26 episodes. The art was AWESOME! Especially since it was created during the time when the quality of TV shows had been bumped up due to BluRay and higher definition televisions. I could watch this entire last season in full scre…

InuYasha the Final Act is a good ending to the amazing InuYasha series. Sadly, its only 26 episodes. Still, its great, and enjoyable. For anyone looking for a long, fun series, InuYasha is a must watch.(of course, start from the frist part of the anime). Storyline9/10-NO SPOILERS. InuYasha the Final Act follows Dog Demon InuYasha, and his friends, Kagome, Shippo, Miroku, and Sango. They are all after Naraku, the evil Demon who has the Scared Jewel. The final battle starts as all of the characters fight to end, to stop Naraku. Well, its very good, like the first part of the anime. However, there are FILLERS. The fillers are mostly filler characters, not episodes. The filler characters, are boring. Still, the main storyline is very enjoyable and is great.(plenty of action). Characters9/10-…

So here I am, in 2015, writing a review for the second and final season of the anime that was my entire childhood. I was introduced to Inuyasha by my friend when I was in elementary school (year 4) on Animax. I used to watch other things on Animax, but I had never watched Inuyasha and had merely passed it off as "meh, i don't think I'll like it" until she persuaded me to watch it. How wrong a half-assed judgement can be. I started watching it and I wasn't able to stop. Inuyasha filled all my days and nights and it was the only thing I could think about. I even forged a makeshift tetsusaiga from thermocol and waved it around in front of the TV. I was entirely in love with this anime. Okay, now let me get to the point. Kanketsu-Hen has the reviews it deserves (it is absolutely brilliant!…

If you loved Inuyasha enough to give this continuance a chance, you will not be disappointed. All in all, it's not a waste of time if you are already a fan of Inuyasha. If you are not a fan of the original Inuyasha story and want to watch this for some reason, you are in luck! This series has constant flashbacks just like the original. So you too can endure the constant Kikyo arrow flashbacks that only we true Inuyasha fans never get tired of seeing (muahaha)! No, but seriously, the flashbacks aren't as bad as the original, making this series a lot more tolerable. If you get a chance to see it, check it out. No matter who you are, you will be (at least) entertained.
