Parallel World Pharmacy

Introduction

World-class medical researcher Kanji Yakutani lost his little sister to a tumor years ago due to ineffective treatment. To honor her legacy, he has dedicated his research to developing new medications for such conditions. But as fate would have it, he overworks himself and passes away at the age of 31, only to be given a second chance at life in another world. When he wakes up, Kanji finds himself in the body of a 10-year-old boy named Falma de Médicis, the son of an esteemed family of medical practitioners in the Sain Fleuve Empire. Bearing the mark of a deity's divine blessing, Falma is capable of performing a unique divine art, allowing him to create and reduce any substance with the knowledge of its chemical properties. After reading through some pharmacology books, Falma realizes that this world is operating on similar medical practices as in ancient times. He also learns that medicine is an exclusive privilege to the nobility, depriving commoners of proper medical care. Using the knowledge from his past life and the divine abilities granted to him, Falma resolves to make medicine available to those who need it—irrespective of class. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Parallel world pharmacy is an isekai powerfantasy with a focus on healthcare. The setting seems to be renaissance Europe with elements from France, England, the Netherlands, and a religious organisation reminiscent of the papal states. The story is obviously about a person being reincarnated in a parallel world and starting a pharmacy there but the pharmacy takes a back seat for around half the anime while other, mostly healthcare related, events take place. The story was passable but it wasn't too interesting because any time a problem popped up it was solved almost instantly. Almost all of the medical information in the anime seemed accurate with the only exception I could find being the main character contradicting himself on the feasibility of using Tuberculosis as a biological weapo…

Parallel World Pharmacy is a very charming and refreshing isekai. What I really liked is that every character feels important and enjoyable, not just background fillers. The story takes a different route from typical isekai by focusing on medicine, knowledge, and saving lives instead of pure action. Yes, as a manga reader, it’s noticeable that many scenes and details were removed or simplified in the anime, which is a bit disappointing. Still, the adaptation keeps the core idea and soul of the story intact, making it easy and pleasant to watch. Overall, despite the cuts, this anime stands as another kind of masterpiece in the isekai genre—calm, unique, and meaningful. Definitely worth watching if you want something different from the usual isekai formula.

A lot of negative revies of this show seems like they did not actually paid attention to it. its not perfect but its not as bad as people make it out to be. The show is a bit too positive for a story that tackles life and death, but at least its not something that trivializes the lethality of actual lethal diseases. The MC is overpowered yes and i feel like he only abused 1 aspect of his abilities, the rest where used sparingly. People might think his power up at the end came out of nowhere but in reality it has been foreshadowed in earlier episodes.

The concept could have been something really special, but it was very poorly executed. I don't even know where to begin. 1. The protagonist was placed on a conveyer belt where everything was handed to him. He didn't have to struggle or even work for it. 2. Magic eyes and hands - it is like hero being handed a laser guided nuclear missile to find and kill the villain. This exactly here is what really makes for an interesting show to watch right (hero clicking a single button) 3. The show did not introduce a single new disease for the protagonist to tackle. Everything disease introduced was already known and had a drug to treat it. Exciting. 4. For someone who wants to make the world a better place, one would open a college to share his knowledge, not a pharmacy which undercuts the e…

Binged this anime due to the challenge on MAL, this is a 9/10 Anime. I'm usually the one saying Isekai is oversaturated and stuff which is..true. Then you get completely original titles like this as a reminder some shows do stand out despite not being headliner popular? Plain and simple, the MC combines his past Medical knowledge with the world's magical techniques. He is blessed by a healing god of sorts that gives him affinity of all magic types with a focus on Divine/Light. The dude lives to heal and I felt healed just watched him out of kindness and good will. Excellent incorporation of actual real life elements to create spells, supplies, materials, etc. To finalize, seeing him get healed with the warmness of a family confirms what Isekai is meant to be? A 2nd life done correctly

Wholesome. Very well animated. Good voice acting. Excellent character and world building. Even the story was actually pretty good, even though it's entirely focused on pharmaceuticals. It's not dependent on plot holes or implausibly stupid or evil people. It's not full of action, or a enthralling, twisting plot, but this is an anime that knows exactly what it wants to be and executes very well. I really didn't expect much from this, from the description i thought it was going to be a cheap isekai cash grab, but I'm very pleasantly surprised to give this an 8/10, it earns it. I recommend this anime.

Loved it. It’s not every day you see an anime that puts some focus on epidemiology and microbiology. It was nothing short of very welcome fan service to those of us with research backgrounds and expertise in those fields who also love anime. I wish they could have been a little more technical with everything, but overall it was very fun. Haven’t binge-watched an anime in a single day in a while. I’m not much of a critic of media and don’t really have much knowledge of plot devices and the different elements of storytelling, so I’ll just say some things I think might be relevant. I like how the humbleness of the MC is kept to a minimum. I like how the MC isn’t clueless about his advantages and doesn’t think he’s super weak. I love how the show also dipped its toes into public health and st…

What a wonderful, fulfilling anime. I felt it hit on so many notes, and went so many places, and you kinda got a taste of so many different things without feeling it lagged too long in any one place. MC: Pharma is a fine MC. He's smart, able and kind, without being sappy or overly confident. He realizes he has limitations, and always aims to do what is best, whilst thinking of others and their positions. He goes about trying to change the morals of the land around him while not shaming those who hold those morals. He is a very enjoyable MC who you are spurred to be interested in and root for. Surrounding Cast: You really do cheer for all protagonists in this anime. I can't stress that enough. There are even a few of which you don't read as protagonists upon introduction, but quickly co…

This is one of those anime that you're watching- and all of the sudden it's already episode 6. But of course I'm a bit bias since I've been in the medicine industry for over 10 years. Oh, and I love isekai. The story follows a overly devoted pharmacist name Kanji who dies (from over exhaustion I guess) and is isekai into a 10 year old child name Falma. Using his knowledge and insane OP abilities, Falma is dedicating his new life to improving the world through medicine. So why do I rate it an 8? Well- it is a bit "different" from your typical isekai in that there's no demon lord to defeat. Instead, Falma fights against diseases. What I really like is the show incorporating real actual medical practices into the show- like using a glass slide of a bacteria sample to determine the disease.…

Parallel World Pharmacy is one of the best isekai i've seen in recent years. Good animation, good soundtrack, well written characters, an intriguing premise, and solid world building can all be found in this gem of a show. The story centers around a pharmacist who passes away in his sleep from overworking at his lab. He then reincarnates into the body of a 10 year old boy named Farma from a long noble lineage of outstanding pharmacists and gains the blessing of a god to practice medicine all he likes in this new magic and science filled world of his. It's quite interesting to see his adventures in introducing this new world to modern medicine and truly developing the level of patient care he longed for in his past life. It was a joy to watch he and his companions grow and shape the medica…

Rarely do i have an opinion i deem worth writing, something that's shown by my basically non-existent presence in here. But this one really got me on the ropes . This piece of work here is easily the WORST isekai in existence at the moment, simply because it fails the very basis of an isekai. Usually even the sloppiest of the slop have at least some semi-decent world building. This anime however does not. Judging by the whole reincarnation of a literal god thing the MC has going on, this world is supposed to be high fantasy. But outside of the "divine arts" magic, this fantastic world is devoid of any actual fantasy. Barren even. And because of the setting chosen the very premise of the anime is a difficult exercise in subverting expectations. A high fantasy setting where nobody outside o…

If you’re tired of most Isekai filled with fan service and overpowered MC’s then watch this. It takes Isekai into a slice of life following a pharmaceutical worker who gets reincarnated into a less advanced world and runs his own pharmacy. It has everything, amazing scenery, good sub and dub, a great power system, and amazing characters. I definitely would recommend. The only downside is the fact it has 1 season. It really opened my eyes to just how vast and diverse animes of the same genre can be. I’m used to watching Isekai like That time I got reincarnated as a slime, eminence in shadow and things like that with broken characters, fan service, and unrealistic world. This had none of that, it was as if i was watching a show on someone’s average life and them making the world a better p…

Parallel World Pharmacy follows Kanji Yakutani, a modern-day pharmacologist who passes away from stress and overwork. Reborn in a fantasy world as Falma de Medicis, the second son of Bruno, a famous pharmacist, he decides to use his knowledge of modern pharmaceutical treatments to save the sick regardless of their social status or financial means. How does Falma's journey unfold? Story & Character: 6/10 The story starts with an intriguing premise of a child utilizing his modern pharmaceutical knowledge in a medieval fantasy setting. While initially inspiring, the narrative lacks significant conflict or resistance; society readily conforms to Falma's advancements, easily abandoning traditional folk medicine. The story peaks with a drawn-out, avoidable epidemic and a poorly articulated anta…

tl;dr: An isekai that handles its pharmacy related aspects pretty well but is weak in most other areas. A highly skilled pharmaceutical researcher overworked himself to the point of death. He wakes up in another world in the body of a ten year old noble boy named Falma. And not just any noble but the son of the head of the de Médicis, a family of medical practitioners. Using his knowledge, position, and some special abilities called Divine Arts, Falma does his best to deal with the various medical issues he comes across and to advance health in general. This is very much an isekai where the protagonist is overpowered. Of course his scientific knowledge being significantly more advanced than anyone else is overpowered in and of itself. But he’s also overpowered in a much more traditional…

Early episodes were good. Unfortunately, the quality and pacing decreased as the show continued, leading to an ending which felt rushed and cliched. At the start, the show looked promising. It had good, correct scientific detail and an interesting premise. Although episode 1 felt quite exposition-heavy at first, it got up to speed and quickly became pretty fun. However, pacing became an issue later in the show. The final episodes introduced lots of things from nowhere, and the victory achieved felt hollow and unearned. Plot holes and underutilized character abilities also plagued this show, it felt like the characters had a worse memory of what their abilities were than I did as the viewer. Overall, I can't recommend this show. Although you may like the show initially, I don't think it'…

Any cure is a slow process. Unlike this anime, for that matter. Rushed towards the last few episodes, which crush every bit of expectations you were slowly accumulating over the progress of an anime with an unusual theme. It's an absolute pity, because for those who enjoy a nice change of pace, this anime was starting good, if not - at the very least - steadily. Then suddenly, it comes down crashing when every medical problem is being solved by godly powers which absolutely undeserve the anime theme. If you've nothing better to do, you can watch this anime but keep in mind you're likely to be disapointed.

Ive never written a review, but these characters pissed me off to the point where I needed to vent. The show started off fine. The scientific focus of the first episodes is quite fun and its nicely pased. However, after a couple of episodes, this show becomes unbearable due to these characters. Every single prominent characters is obsessed with the MC. The constant cries of admiration and moments where other characters are in awe of the MC get old after about 12 seconds. There is 0 depth to any of these characters, 0 character development and the story is too stale to make up for any of it. Ive seen some Isekai trash in my time, but at least most shows have some redeeming quality, or are bad to the point where it gets funny. This is neither, it just pissed me off. Why they felt the need…

Pretty good. A middle aged, very smart pharmaceutist and a research lab worker gets sent to a medieval fantasy world where he replaces the son of an archduke, who is also a brilliant medicine man. On top of it he gets OP magical powers. And yeah, his name is Farma Medicis. Very clever... There is quite a bit of drama in the first few episodes about his new found powers and knowledge and I really liked the realistic attitude of the people around him. Especially the father. The man is really likeable. Which will be a common theme as there is really only one bad person in the whole show and he appears only at the end. Which is my biggest gripe with it. It's just too perfect. People are nice, polite, friendly and even those that aren't outwardly so, are still good on the inside. Early into…

Overall: So, an overworked doctor ended up on the other world? Yes. As an isekai junkie, I am set to watch all isekai. This is one of those that explore the trope. I would say, it is one of the better one on the list, but the plot is relatively generic, there's no "wow" moment. Just a lot of things that are rather cliche. Bonus point as it reminds me of COVID. and are immersive in that aspect. Short conclusion: 7.5/10 Driving deeper Art: pretty good, it is probably on the higher end of the anime production. The effect are beautiful to some degree, however, not breathtaking. 8.5/10 Character: Honestly, I do think that the characters are pretty solid, they just need to take some more time to develop. Well, we have very little bit of that through. I only see bits of reasoning here and th…

As someone who is an Isekai junkie, I am all in for Isekai shows that try out new concepts because the Isekai genre is broad and stuff you can do with it is amazing if you're creative enough. Now I thought this show was one of those happy go luck shows where nothing insanely bad happens(well it is) but there is a dark side to this show as well (they haven't really gotten super dark yet, will probably not happen lol) I liked how patients aren't treated with nonsensical OP abilities that the MC has and its actually proper treatment that you'd get from a doctor or surgeon in our world, Not to say that it isn't the case but there are limits to what he can do with his abilities although they are stupidly OP but thats just Isekai logic. The plot is just what you'd expect from an Isekai show, MC…
