Kyochuu Rettou Movie

Introduction

After an airplane crash during a school trip, Oribe Mutsumi and her classmates were stranded on a seemingly deserted island. Mutsumi found the other survivors, and used her wilderness knowledge to help them. She expects that they will be rescued in about three days, which doesn't seem so long to endure. However, she didn't account for the fact that the island is populated with gigantic killer insects. Her knowledge of butterflies, wasps, and more may be the only thing that will help any of her classmates survive to be rescued! (Source: MangaHelpers)

Damn, I didn't know Asylum made anime movies. The animation is cheap, the story is "who cares?" and the bugs look roughly equivalent to Sharknado-quality 3D models. So...why didn't I rate this, like, a 2/10? Because of the dub: it's HILARIOUS! Actual VAs somehow got attached to this project, and they're taking the piss the whole time. It's raunchy, juvenile, and stupid, making this garbage film not just watchable, but actually enjoyable, like a cheesy B-Movie parody. And just like a cheapo B-movie: there's plenty of gratuitous nudity and bug-rape! ...Sigh… Oh, and it ends on a stupid bug pun, without actually resolving the story. Perfect, I expected as much - honestly left me in a giggling fit when I realized THAT’S how they chose to end it. Grab some buddies and beers, and you'll have a…

Well, this was a viewing experience allright. The title speaks for itself. It's an island with giant insects. And honestly it's a very intresting ideea. Biggest issue with this movie is the animation. Outside of the simple to animate ticks and larvae, all other insects are CGI. And it looks bad. The characters and their movement are all sorta whack as well. It's either low budget or the animators just couldn't be bothered. Could be both who knows. Honestly there's not much to discuss about other then the animation. The premise of this movie is simple and straightforward.Same are the characters. As much as some of them feel intentionally stupid...... Well, this is how just some people are.Especially like the 2 stooges Atsushi and Mirei. They can't help but be insufferable. That's what living in h…

If EDP445 and Weevil Underwood from Yu-Gi-Oh made hentai, it would still probably be easier to sit through than this movie. Unlikeable characters making bafflingly awful decisions and getting brutally killed by giant insects for roughly two hours pretty much sums up the entirety of this snuff film.... MAL says this needs review needs more info, so let's answer the prompt questions: Is the story unique? If it was predictable, did you enjoy it anyway because you like this genre/set-up? Think of how you would survive an island of giant bugs, the characters will then proceed to do the exact opposite. They only make a half-decent move when the plot needs them to move to the next set piece. Do you think the art style is fitting for the story? I mean, for a hentai it looks passable, I feel ba…

Animation: 1/10 Character Design: 2/10 Main Story: 1/10 Secondary Character Development: 1/10 Heroine: 2/10 Protagonist Development: 1/10 Overall Rating: 1 (Without looking at the original) Kyochuu Rettou Movie is a film adaptation that fails in almost every aspect, delivering a disappointing experience for horror and survival fans. Starting with the story, the plot is extremely weak and predictable. The premise of a group of people trapped on an island infested with giant insects had the potential to be exciting, but the storyline is poorly developed and lacks originality. The lack of explanation about the origin of the insects and the absence of any depth in the characters make it difficult to care about what happens to them. Furthermore, the film is riddled with typical horror movie c…

I can pretty much describe this anime in one sentence: The biggest load of crap I have ever seen in all my years as a fan of anime! And believe me, I've seen my share of garbage anime. Okay, so the basic premise of a group of people trapped on a deserted island with giant creatures, in this case giant insects, isn't exactly anything original. It's a trope that's been used many times in movies but at the same time it can work as a plot device if done well. Kyochuu Rettou a.k.a The Island of Giant Insects doesn't just take the same old same old cliche and just run with it but it does it in the sense that it knows it's cliche and just doesn't care or even attempt to do anything new or different. The characters aren't any better either as they just come across as bland, annoying or just outri…

Is this movie good - like by the definition of how we as people judge storytelling, animation, and art? No. It is not. Not even close. Before I wrote this review for this movie, I read through what others had to say, and next to none had anything to say about the ethereal experience the ENGLISH DUB version of this movie is. If you have at all heard of the tales of the ludicrous Ghost Stories Dub, then you’re in for another experience with this one. While perhaps not as out there and shocking as the Ghost Stories Dub, this movie never failed to make me choke with the lines the English cast deliver. I genuinely recommend anyone to watch the DUB over the SUB. In the world of anime where doing so can be seen as a sin, I promise you this movie has no substance to provide for you in its native l…

Don’t watch this movie. Just don’t. It’s not worth your time. It’s basically Jurassic Park if it had everything good taken out of it and swapped the dino’s with bugs. And added boobs. That’s legit all this movie is. The characters are bland and lack any form of.. well character.. The voice acting is so so for some parts and just horrible for others and the animation? Euugh Literally in one part of the movie (not a spoiler) main girl walks for like 5 minutes straight to some copyright free music while they reuse the same 3 shots over and over. Now slight spoiler for the ending (spoiler alert there is none!!) Zero satisfaction in the ending. Overall 1/10 worst movie i’ve seen in a while

In terms of history, I can honestly say that in my opinion anime is not boring because something happens every now and then, but disgusting and 18+, so it's not very good in terms of history because otherwise, in my opinion, there is nothing thrilling about this animation. The only thing that saves the anime, but it's still not enough is the animation line, however. Insects look like they were added in paint 3D, they are repulsive, the moment itself, even the one with butterflies at the beginning, is repulsive and unnecessary. I mean, why was that butterfly crawling all over its victim's panties? It was definitely unnecessary. The only plus is the line of characters and the environment. The characters are practically unlikable because we have here, for example, Mrs. Smart, a woman who beh…

This is basically a guro (eroticised violence and gore) anime that doesn't go all the way through, although it stops exactly at the 99% point of what can be done without being classified as hentai. To be fair though, that's not exactly the reason it's awful. I've experienced some guro media before and while it's not for me, I at least somewhat understood what they were going for. This one theoretically aims for the B-movie/exploitation vibe but is just so lazy and stupid in its writing that it can't pull off the campy feel of that genre. It's also too kitsch and juvenile to sell its gore and "scary" moments, they just feel laughably desperate in their tone-deaf edginess. And with ugly CGI added on top of that, it's all a self-sabotaging mix of bad tropes and lazy execution. And if the lo…

I watched the subbed version and got curious on how bad it actually looks like. The movie was fairly good and I don't understand what made the score so low. The story itself is simple and straightforward and maybe a bit lacking on some content but still it still tells the story. It didn't exaggerate on some details and causes it to move too quickly especially on transitions between different parts of the story. The art was clean and simple with the exceptions on CGI since I personally don't like CGI. The artwork is not extremely emphasized and is done to be simple which is really not that bad. The characters were straightforward and premises were simple enough to be understood. They have their own charms and flaws based on how the story wants it to portray. Overall, personally, I…

I guess you could say that this movie bugs people. The Kyochuu Rettou OVA was one of my favourite anime of 2019 video, and honestly, I think the movie does nothing but improve on its strengths. I mean…it’s still a piece of shit, and if you’ve seen this movie… and have eyes, you shouldn’t need me to tell you why. Kyouchuu Rettou is a film that would have looked ugly in 2005, and, believe it or not, this film got released in 2020. It goes so much farther than simply being a bad movie to the point of hilarity, and while the OVA had some hilariously forced angst, this film multiplies that edge to the point of outright comedy. If you reached the point in the film when the bullies were about to shut up this paralysed chick by shoving his dick in her mouth to keep her quiet and didn’t immediate…

The island of Giant Insects recap (spoilers) Oribe Mutsumi, a second year high school student and her class prepare to go on a school trip; However, everything turns south when their plane crashes on an island in the middle of nowhere. Out of everyone on the plane, 10 people survived but that number quickly drops as the survivors quickly discover the island is crawling with large insects. A threat to their survival, Oribe Mutsumi leads the group against the large insects despite a lot of situations going bad one after another. Story & Characters: 3/10 The story itself doesn't seem too bad but the events that happen are too perfectly timed to feel naturally developed. The plot consistency is also a mess with a lot of story background and logic not existing. The characters are a bit develo…

This is a good meme of a film. I enjoyed because it was so bad. Dub actually has fun dialogue, so if you're looking for a dumb movie that went into the absurd and a more laid back dub, yeah go for it. as far as the film itself, the characters are a mish mash of stereotypes from horror films and they don't really take themselves too seriously. As in this isn't a movie to watch with deeper meaning or a deep story in general. It is an outlandish concept and threw some characters in it to see how they'd fair. it is definitely not safe for work. note, there is a post credit scene for those who look for those things, not gonna say more, but just saying that it is there.

All I can say is that I highly recommend this in the dubbed version. I've watched both subbed and dubbed, but the dub takes nothing about the story or writing seriously. It is genuinely one of the funniest things I've ever watched thanks to its amazingly hilarious dialogue. I'd also like to note that there are quite a few well known actors doing this dub, so it isn't a bunch of armatures, as they all sound really good. It is very reminiscent of the ghost stories dub. I wouldn't recommend the subbed version since the voice actors actually tried to take the dumpster fire of a plot seriously. Also, as I'm now being notified this must be longer. So the art is actually surprisingly good. The CGI isn't that bad either, I've seen worse. 7/10 dubbed, 4/10 subbed.

Watch this dubbed. They knew the movie was bad and ran with it. The dub elevates it from normal trash to funny, bad horror movie trash. Not all of the jokes are great, and there can be a lot of pointless swearing at times, but it is far better than watching it subbed. I watched this immediately after watching the OVA, which doesn’t have a dub. The OVA is just a sequence ripped from the movie, so it isn’t worth your time. However, it made for a great comparison, as there is pretty much no comedy in the sub at all and it just takes itself way too seriously. The dub knows what the movie is, and has a funny self-awareness that the original lacks. You should skip out on this movie if you despise dubs or bad horror movies. Otherwise, you will most likely have a fun time watching this.

Only reason why l'm giving this a good score is because it excelled in making me fear bugs, this movie does a great job in pushing the fear factor and making them into scary creature that want to feast upon you. l'm never gonna watch this again mostly out of fear but if anyone wanted a recommendation on a movie that may scary them, I would say it be this one. Not to mention the gore thats in this movie, god l wanna cleanse myself everytime l think of those sense. I dont have any bad things to say because it did what it was set out to do and what was to make the view feel uncomfortable and sick as some parts, and l think it did do a good job at that. Note: l'm a baby when it come to bugs and inscets

I don't know why people hate this stuff. It seemed pretty enjoyable to me. Every moment was intense. I am the kind who don't depend on people's opinion. Rather than that I watch and justify that opinion. So, watch and decide whether it is good or bad TO YOU. The animation is so good. The CGI of insects and all other details were really good. It was pretty good visual experience. The characters were decent. I mean they were too cruel to be in this era. So it kinda filled artificial to me. The fucked author thinks everybody in the world is selfish and shit of character. It was a bummer. But they were no generic. The story is good or fair perhaps. Because not much revealed in the movie. If you want story. Then follow the manga. I enjoyed the movie. It was exciting. Not bored for a sing…

As a person with a strong phobia of insects (especially butterflies, yeah, it's weird but it's true), when I saw the concept of this anime I was really curious because it would be a true nightmare for a person like me to be in such situation and since I like horror movies / animes, I was really hyped by the story. What a deception. It remind me of HOTD, too much fanservice when it isn't needed AT ALL and it make it even more disturbing to see such scenes around insects. The characters are almost all horrible, there is only like 2-3 of them that you will actually care for because they are nice (special mention to Captain and Kai) but the others are just the worst human being possible and i'm just like "why in this plane crash there is only mean people who survived ?!". I think the story…

If you want to make an ecchi horror anime movie, at least do it right! This movie fails in so many ways it is almost laughable. The overall voice acting was subpar, the characters felt bland and inspid, even most of the death scenes felt really cheesy. Don't get me wrong it is a very gory anime but it just fails in so many aspects that it degrades the overall value of the movie. There are anime movies and shows that expand on the idea of being stranded in an island such as japan 2020 and sounan desu ka. Probably my least favorite scene in the movie is when Malty and biker gang dickhead threaten to rape the class rep. The reason for doing that it is to ''shut her up''. This is after Malty and biker gang dickhead closed the door behind them to let all the other characters get eaten by a gia…

[No-Spoilers] Wow, they finally animated this piece of art. Now how can it go wrong... The simple explaination to put, its a Train-wreck from beginning, and I have no clue Passione Studio even care to begin with. In first 5 minutes is enough to understand how the series will goes on. Yes I have read the manga, its basic-ly a homage of horror zombie series where whole town is invaded but instead of zombies, it was big-ass bugs and stranded in Island. And also kills humans. Story is OK but it seems like this movie have been butchered out by even more Fan-Service and unnecessary unanimated sections. Character, oh no, they have voice now. Its getting even annoying. Art? Oh dear. I think this is the reason why I give 1. 3D for bugs and stuff, I'm fine with it but it just "odd". It doesn`t…
