I went into this expecting a simple superhero parody, but it ended up being way more entertaining than I expected.
The idea of Saitama being so ridiculously powerful that he defeats almost every enemy with one punch is hilarious. What makes it work is how seriously everyone around him takes these huge battles while Saitama is usually just bored and looking for a good fight.
I really liked the contrast between Saitama and Genos. Saitama is lazy and strangely calm, while Genos is serious and constantly trying to improve. The side characters also add a lot of personality.
The animation is fantastic, especially during the bigger fights. The action feels explosive without losing the comedy, and the soundtrack fits the energy perfectly.
The story isn't complicated, but that's not really the…

Before writing anything myself, one thing is sure – you either like or hate One Punch Man. And there is nothing wrong with that. I will try to give an independent review on this one, even tho I liked it and enjoyed it.
(*might contain spoilers*)
Story / Plot : Story is about a hero named Saitama, possessing out of this world strength that he defeats his enemies with a single punch, calling himself a "hero for fun". And you might assume where this goes : some bad guy is a threat to people; no one can stop him, and then the One Punch Man saves the day. It may feel like that, and one could argue that the story is repetitive and boring.
HOWEVER, it builds up and has its twists throughout the season : the creatures he meets get stronger; these monsters come from different worlds, trying to t…

One Punch Man is an anime focused on comedy and action. Its episodes are enjoyable mainly because of the humor, but it has very few, if any, real moments of action, considering that the premise is that the protagonist can defeat any opponent with a single punch.
Story: 4/10:
It has a weak story that is barely explained. Villains are introduced out of nowhere and in large numbers, and they usually last no more than two episodes.
Characters: 3/10:
The characters are introduced unexpectedly, receive very little development, and most of them are either quite annoying or difficult to relate to.
Humor: 6/10:
The idea of the protagonist defeating gigantic and seemingly terrifying villains with a single punch is funny and entertaining, and it works well as a parody of action anime. However, the…

We're probably looking at one of the most simplistic anime in history. Where to begin? OPM is clearly a one-joke anime that doesn't last more than a single episode; the premise is ridiculous even as a parody. Ironically, it's an anime where the joke is that it's not funny. The problem is that clearly no 12-episode anime can survive on that premise. Saitama is one of the most simplistic, boring, and uncharismatic protagonists I've ever had the misfortune of encountering; he's a character who clearly needs to be removed from the screen, otherwise the series itself falls apart. The secondary characters are the ones who clearly stand out the most, and not precisely because they're good, but because simply not being Saitama is enough to make them stand out. This anime would clearly pass without…

*This is a review of season 1, I have not watched (and probably won’t watch) season 2 and 3 of this series.
One-Punch Man is an action-comedy series, consisting of 12 episodes, from 2015. The series is directed by Shingo Natsume and is an adaptation of the manga by the same name, created by ONE (pseudonym). One-Punch Man is also categorized as a parody of shonen anime. “Shonen” is targeted towards the interests of young boys (though it often reaches a general appeal) and is therefore often defined by “heroes journeys” with a cast of relatable characters that fight against some sort of evil. Popular shonen anime include “Dragon Ball Z”, “Naruto”, “One Piece” and many more.
One-Punch Man follows the titular main character, Saitama. Saitama is a normal man who through a hard but consistent…

I like this show. It is funny and works so well as a parody. I found the most enjoyment on my third/fourth rewatch (can't remember which one it is at this point) showing it to my little brother who's just getting into anime. The crablante shit is so funny, I love having the villains hyped up so much only for Saitama to show up and just beat them in one punch. The show is great, it just works. My favorite character is Mumen Rider, who is the only hero in the entire show who is being a hero because he wants to save people. He is the perfect antithesis to the S-Rank heroes, who seem to be heroes for their own gain rather than because they want to save people, and I think that is great. This show has so many good ideas and executes on them all, while providing a satisfying conclusion. I have h…

One punch man is a very enjoyable, well written parody of both the common tropes where the protagonist is overpowered from the beginning without effort, and where the protagonist goes through a lot of training and growth. We follow Saitama, a guy in a world where through their feelings, environment and training people can evolve into monsters (to the point that monster attacks are a very common occurrence) or really powerful heroes, and while he himself doesn't fully grasp his power or its origins, it is clear to anyone that comes across him that he's beyond formidable. Saitama's biggest gripe is that he doesn't enjoy fighting anymore and can't find strong foes, among other silly issues like not being recognized.
There's a good amount of interesting heroes and enemies, the story is fast-p…

Very very good anime. Highly recommended.
There isnt much I can say about thios show that hasnt already been written. Saitama is just such a great character, and the fact that hes always late is part of the fun. yes, he can defeeat every villian in one punch, but no one else can, which makes all of the interactions just so much fun to watch, even if it is a little cringey to see every new character go "I bet this guy is super weak" "OMG HES OP"
just sucha fun and amazing anime, with great characters and animation. 9/10, but more like a 9.8/10.

An absolutely amazing series about a guy who is a hero just for fun! A hero who defeats everyone with one punch is a great concept, but right after the first episode I was wondering which direction it would go from here... And it actually keeps going in the same direction, just another interesting hero is added, we learn how the system of heroes and threats works, but what's more important, maybe every episode will have a great joke or a funny situation, mostly thanks to the character of the main character, who is a bit "tough". Anyway, I enjoyed the series immensely.

I completely enjoyed One Punch Man. It's not a show that's going to be serious, and that pretty much applies to the entire premise. The story is basically one big parody of superhero comic books and shonen action shows, but it succeeds because it knows how to do it. Saitama being so strong that any fight is one punch away is something that should become stale, but the series keeps finding ways to make things around him funny, new, or just plain silly. Seriously, though, this was the perfect anime to be able to shut off my brain and enjoy the ridiculousness. The pace is fast, the jokes land almost every time, and the combination of comedy and flashy action makes it actually quite easy to binge.
The characters are actually what really pulled me in. Saitama gets me laughing with his straight…

One-Punch Man presents a premise that immediately overturns one of the most familiar structures in action storytelling. Without following a hero struggling to grow stronger in order to defeat powerful enemies, the narrative begins with a protagonist who has already surpassed every possible limit. Every battle ends the same way: a single punch. The absence of struggle, rather than the presence of danger, becomes the central conflict of the story. At the center stands Saitama, an ordinary man who once decided to become a hero simply for fun. Through a strangely simple training routine, Saitama eventually reaches a level of strength so overwhelming that no opponent can survive a serious strike. Monsters that threaten entire cities, villains capable of destroying armies, and disasters that ter…

This show is meh.
The main issue for me is that I don't like Japanese comedy that relies on overreactions, nor do I like typical shonen fights that devolve into lengthy monologues, taunt battles, announcing of attacks, etc. These are the foundational layer of this show, and to me they're always boring. On top of that is Saitama, the protagonist whose gimmick is that he destroys all enemies in a single punch. I enjoy his deadpan humor more, though I wouldn't call it consistently funny -- it gave me an occasional chuckle here and there. I also somewhat enjoy the shtick of Saitama not being recognized for his power and others always lucking into taking credit for the most part.
Saitama makes or breaks the show for me. When he's on the screen, the show never really reaches "great", but it'…

Note: This will be a review of both seasons, and I will later update it with information about the third season as well.
Overview:
The superhero genre is one that is widely beloved in many countries all around the world, and Japan is no exception. "One-Punch Man" is an action anime of which the entire purpose is to poke fun at all the standard tropes and story beats generally found in the superhero genre and shonen anime in general, and it does so in the most loving, affectionate way possible. The result is an extremely funny, very exciting and exhilarating series that should easily appeal to both fans and detractors of the genres alike, even if it does still have its fair share of issues.
Story (7.5/10):
"One-Punch Man"'s story is about a 25-year-old man named Saitama, who looks very un…

it is good, is funny but still tells a story without taking itself to serious. MC is average guy who happens to be very strong, with a character who is overwhelmingly strong, strength doesn't define him rather that it is his morals. Many people will just assume it is just a fun power trip anime, but it is about someone who just want to be a hero and do the right thing. It is not a power trip and trying to be stronger than everybody else, but having strength and awareness of who you are to uplift others.
The show is what you get from it, similar to Avatar, the kid's show where Aang becomes avatar to save the world. There will be overcoming adversity and characters becoming stronger, but it is more about what oneself should value.
Is it greatest story in world? no,…

One Punch Man – A Brilliant Parody or a Shonen Masterpiece?
Superhero anime often follow a familiar formula—rising through hardships, surpassing limits, and battling powerful foes. One Punch Man takes that formula and turns it upside down. Instead of a struggling protagonist, we have Saitama, a hero so powerful that he defeats every enemy with a single punch. Yet, beneath its comedic premise lies sharp satire, stunning animation, and surprisingly deep character moments.
Action and Animation
Season 1, animated by Madhouse, delivered breathtaking fight sequences, with fluid choreography and explosive impact. Saitama’s effortless punches contrast beautifully with the desperate struggles of Genos, Mumen Rider, and the S-Class heroes. However, Season 2, handled by J.C. Staff, had noticeable an…

Animation 10/10
Very well animated, with not a single bad looking scene. This isn't surprising either with the amount of talented artists contributing. All of the fight scenes look spectacular.
Art: 10/10
Sometimes it's simple and goofy, while other times it's detailed as hell. It fits the tone of the show well. All the character designs are memorable and well done.
Story/Plot: 8/10
Fairly simplistic, but perfect for what it is. The characters are all fun and interesting to watch.
Voice Acting: 9/10
(Japanese) All of the voice actors do a great job playing their characters. Nothing sounds bad or out of place.

One anime I'd recommend anyone to watch, an adrenaline rush and a great comedy. The animation is outstanding and the music is absolutely stellar. The characters are all fun to watch and the scale of the fights feels appropriate for the story they're trying to tell. The cinematography really shines through in this anime. Almost perfect besides being a bit bored here and there when it drags on for a bit too long. Most characters aren't super interesting or even relevant, but that's not exactly the story it tries to tell. For the characters that do get the spotlight, they shine bright. And I appreciate that not for a second does this show try to hide its premise of an over-powered hero being actually too strong. Usually with something like this, you'll expect a generic power fantasy, but this…

******* ENGLISH ******
It is very entertaining, comical and satirizes many clichés, which I love. Also, I think the hero-for-job system manages to develop in a way that My Hero Academia couldn't even do in 7 seasons XD
Even so, the story is too superficial, it is nothing more than a "Fine" (6). I think literally Saitama's faces when he is not at all impressed define the plot of this series very well hahaha
In short, you can't ask for much. It is very difficult to make a story whose premise is that the protagonist wins in one fell swoop.
In conclusion:
**I think One Punch Man's strength is playing with stereotypes and ridiculing them so that you have a good time while listening to an action soundtrack along with great animation. And that's why I think it's NOT a good anime to get into…

What you see, is what you get :)
One Punch Man doesn't break any new ground with its story, re-using a lot of elements found in other shounen anime with the classic Saturday morning cartoon feel. However, its execution of these classic elements is strong enough that it is very enjoyable to watch despite its lack of originality.
The cast in this show is likeable yet underdeveloped across the board, the main protagonist Saitama is always enjoyable to watch when he's on screen but at the same time I couldn't help but want more from these characters. There is zero character development in this show, what you see is what you get from the moment these characters appear on screen. This may be a deal breaker for some but for those that care more about action and humour you should be very satisf…

First of all, recommendation is conditioned to:
A) You've seen enough hero stuff like Avengers, X-Men, Justice League, etc.? Then this parody will be an amusing time full of laughs and action where you watch your OP Superman-like take on a different, more mortal aproach at life with such power at his grasp.
B) You've just started with such "hero" stuff and looking for more of that "I'm justice, I'll do justice because X & Y serious reason"? Then you should pass from this one right now, but don't get it wrong! As you progress through that cliche and get tired of it, this series will be a breath of fresh air that'll deliver some humor, but also will make you further value the "small" work lesser heroes do in a way you may never experienced.
This' why people don't get the message this prod…
