I definitely can’t say I didn’t like it—I devoured the series, I really enjoyed it, but without appreciating it for what it actually offers.
It’s about two teenagers who are connected, directly or indirectly, to criminal organizations; they suffer because of this connection and find themselves in this contractual relationship. Even just that makes everything seem unhealthy and sad for the protagonists, but it gets worse when we’re introduced to Kirishima. A selfish and cruel masochist who lives only for his own amusement, consciously ignoring everything related to the well-being of those around him. He is deeply detestable. Just when you get the impression that things are improving, that he might change, the plot takes a sudden turn and brings us right back to the beginning. He never ques…

It's so good show I love every single moment of it
I love how the main character isn't your usual cute girl and the boy with two face
The sound effects was good and the opening and ending songs also were good
The animation was clean even in the fight scene
Character development was good too maybe the only problem is that it didn't adopt everything in the manga
Genuinely it was good
I think most people will enjoy it and it's available in Crunchyroll so it's easy to find
And it's Short only 12 episode with no season 2

Let me start this out by saying I am very interested in getting a second season!
I've seen some bad reviews that imo have no clue what they're talking about and probably haven't even finished the anime.. and I've seen some good reviews that do it justice but also fanned the flames a little too high. Even though I personally loved it and got sucked in by the plot and building romance I can understand how some people might not like it so I'll say.. maybe watch with caution.
If you don't like drama, violence, bad language, psychopaths, and sex scenes (although relatively tame) then this anime probably isn't for you and you'll probably hate it. No reason to call it trash or give it a bad review though if it's just not your thing, drop it or don't watch.
If you like all of that then this ani…

Like most people who watched this, I started it because I kept seeing a ton of reels about it. It looked like a mostly wholesome romance anime with some action, but honestly… those 20 second edits do NOT do it justice.
And by that, I mean it’s lowkey dogsh*t.
Miyama, one of the main characters, is a total asshole. He’s constantly going from girl to girl, then turns around and says Somei is the ONLY one for him, no joke, literally talking about how much he loves her while he’s IN BED with another woman. That pissed me off-
What’s even crazier is that Somei isn’t written as a “I can fix him!!” type of girl. She’s independent and doesn’t let things slide easily ESPECIALLY cheating, and she KNOWS he’s doing it but then she says she doesn’t care which is not in character.…

Sorry, but the anime doesn't have any character development. At least in the first season, and we don't know yet if there will be any 2nd season since the manga has been on hiatus since 2024. I won't recommend it to many people since it has explicit scenes, especially when the male lead insists on loving the girl but has been sleeping with multiple girls, even he left from a date just to sleep with another girl. If you have second lead syndrome, then you can watch it... especially when the second lead is the girl's boy besty/ childhood friend. But even the Second lead doesn't have much development, nor does he confess, nor does he show interests, nor does he want to let go.
The last episode didn't do justice, the audience is confused. But, still I finished it cause I loved the art style…

Papa, I want more movie!
This show was so good that I immediately hyperfixated on it. I rewatched it like 3 times and reread the manga twice within a week. If you love toxic romance, where the ML treats the FL so well you forget he's a criminal and a cheater, this is the story for you. Honestly, if I were kidnapped by someone like Kirishima and he treated me like he treats Yasuno, heck, I'd come down with Stockholm syndrome pretty quickly.
Loving this show sucks because (kinda spoiler warning?) the manga is on an indefinite hiatus, so we aren't getting more content anytime soon... I literally can't get enough of it.
This anime/manga is not a usual lovey dovey, innocent love, like hell NO! This anime/manga has it's charm as you binge into next and next ep of the series. As you know in Yakuza world, of course all the male here are MAJOR RED FLAG like what you would expect? like I said this anime is not your typical romance anime. This is typical male yandere with more crazy, masochist best like behaviour WITH twist of strong, headstrong, bravest female lead character that makes this anime more fun plus it's match and feed between this two male and female lead. I really strong recommend for this anime and can't wait for season 2!!!!!

I have no idea what this was trying to be.
To begin with, it seems like this is a comedic romance, where two crazy and toxic people try to out-crazy and out-toxic each other, which sounds hilarious. Then it seems like its trying to be a mature underworld crime story about the Yakuza, with all the associated sex and violence, which sounds thrilling. Then at times it seems like its about two people playing clever mind games with each other, which sounds intriguing. And then out of nowhere, you'll get the most milquetoast, fluffy nonsense imaginable, which sounds like it was written by a 5 year old. It's like it has a multiple personality disorder.
Where this series shines is the combination of a toxic romance with a gritty, violent Yakuza setting. The mind games are never more than convolu…

I was genuinely disappointed with The Yakuza’s Fiancé. The animation was already weak, but I kept watching because I believed the story would eventually make up for it. Unfortunately, that never happened. Across 12 episodes, the plot felt directionless and poorly written, as if the series relied on shock value instead of meaningful storytelling. What made it worse was the wasted potential—there were interesting ideas here, but none of them were developed properly.
The characters were another major letdown. Most of them felt unstable or poorly explored, including Yoshino herself, who lacked real growth despite being positioned as a strong lead. Kirishima remained chaotic without any real consequences, while other side characters added little to the narrative. The only exception was Shouma.…

Twilight, but with Yakuza, is how this shows appears to come off, as Yoshino and Kirishima , two grandkids of their Yakuza families are thrown into a relationship much akin to Nisekoi, except they aren't rivals and its out in the open. This was a series is an emotional rollercoaster that you can't tell if you want to stay on it or jump off, the initial excitement slowly sinks down and then rises high up again towards the end as you're left asking "Is this good?"
Characters - Yoshino is an awesome female protagonist and is written so well that I just wanted to see her more and more, and she has a fiery attitude to match her red hair, while Kirishima comes off more as a 16 year olds fanfic insert OC, he is supposed to be a masochist but then constantly seems to flip flop back and forth til…

even tho the ml is highkey insufferable the way he ended up yearning for yoshino so bad honestly saved this show from its other weak plot points. the yakuza plot was too convoluted like literally every ep something happens and gets resolved so theres no suspense, it was a snoozefest besides the park scene w/ the hot mysterious guy, and the art style is kinda chopped, mls hair looks like he was electrocuted, and all the yakuza guys tattoos r so ugly😭✌..
but the sprinkles of romance did keep me watching despite ml being a hoe. his ran thru ass pissed me off even if they werent dating, but i get that the point of his character is to be a toxic red flag so you can see him become weak for the girl he really likes. he gets so pathetic for her in the last ep and its my fav scene in the whole sh…

I originally dropped this anime when it first aired as it just didn’t feel like a week-to-week watch. To my surprise I am glad I came back to binge it because this series ended up being not only AMAZING but really funny and cute for a romance.
I’m a total sucker for romance anime, especially when there’s a twist or unique hook that sets it apart from the usual rom com formula. Not only do we get a romance between two unlikely individuals tied together by the violent world they live in, but the show also dives into a darker crime syndicate plot with sharp, edgy characters that give the entire story so much flavor. Even if at times that flavor is a bit CRAZY it made the watch from start to finish SO MUCH MORE enjoyable!
Overall if you are looking for a romance anime that has a bit of a sha…

WATCHING THIS IS SELF-HARM
where do i even begin with ? i thought of giving this anime a try after all the twitter hype only to go few episodes in and realizing THIS WAS SHITTY SINCE BEGINNING AND HAVE NO IMPROVEMENT. who even is this anime for ? it is tagged as "seinen" but be for real with me ? ARE ADULT MEN REALLY ENJOYING THIS DOGSH*T ? okay "josei" then ? I AM AN ADULT WOMAN AND I WISH I NEVER STARTED THIS EUGH. and if the shounen and shoujo audience is watching this...I AM CONCERNED.
there is no plot, no characters building, aesthetics of a trash and nothing else.
some weirdos saying "it's supposed to be realistic portrayal of yakuza" - GIRL PLEASE....there is pure romanticizing of the manwhore main lead...and we are talking about realism. the female lead is textbook badass lmao lik…

I read the manga before (though not till the end and years ago) so i knew what i was getting into. I quite liked it and will probably even rewatch. The animation was WORTH looking at even if it was sometimes kind of stiff? i haven't watched anime in some time soooo it may also be just that. but imo the ML sometimes looked like the standing emoji.
God, the FL was GORGEOUS!!! AHHH PITY THERE WAS NO SMUT. and her CLOTHES?! She is a queen. take me instead frrr. I loved ML´s eyes tho let's be honest they looked dead most of the time xdd (he was gorgeous also, and that one scene when they looked together at the bad guy? on my knees for them)
and well plotwise, hmm. there was some but it felt hollow in some areas. i would enjoy it more if they decided to focus on one thing (the gangs or the re…

The title had me bracing for another cringey anime, but honestly, the plot surprised me with more depth than I expected. That said, watching it feels a bit like being edged—constantly turned on and off—because every character is weirdly toxic in their own ways, like they’re juggling multiple personalities.
But don’t get me wrong—I’m also fucked in my own ways, so I found their toxic dynamics weirdly fascinating. In fact, it felt pretty realistic, considering these are yakuza characters who’d naturally be messed up in the head.
However, I still think that it was a fun watch overall. The story keeps pulling me back in, making me want to dig deeper into the lore and see what kind of war is about to break out. More than anything, I’m hoping for some major character development, because that…

I was hitting the random button one night and bumped into something with the Seinen tag that wasn't this one and thought to myself "Its been a while since I watched a Seinen" so I filtered Seinen and found myself on this one. Not gonna lie this is my first venture into a Yakuza themed show and so I have no idea how this holds up to whatever standard there might be for quality but I did enjoy this short little experience. It's ending made me want more which is always a good sign to me.
You only need to know a little bit of what Yakuza means to get a general idea of what this is gonna be about. If you don't, then without any spoilers, expect some gang references, tattoos, drugs, violence, and hinting at other adult themes without them truly making it to the screen.
The story itself is a li…

I was recommended this show, and I have to admit that I wasn't sure how I would feel about it. I loved the art style; I thought it was really pretty. The characters were a bit all over the place, but I think I would enjoy the manga more. It was definitely a roller coaster with many things happening, but I didn’t really mind that. I really hope there will be a season two because I’d like closure on a few unresolved storylines. While I don’t think it will become one of my favorites, it was an easy and quick watch. I truly loved the main character; she was both badass and funny. Overall, I'm not disappointed.

I don't watch a whole ton of anime on my own these days , but I'd seen this and thought it looked interesting. And honestly ...It could have been. It has all the makings of something that would be up my alley. Dark/grey moral characters , humor, a neat enough art style and premises. Sadly its just too short for its own good. The start is strong and the mid-section of the show gets an interesting enough story beat while pushing some slow character development along. But sadly this ends on a mess of a plot due to its unfinished/ open ended nature and feeling like while the characters are going somewhere relationship-wise in a slow burn sort of way that it was a nice waste of time watching this. Idk how much better or farther along the manga might be but this show really falls flat . I wanted…

Let it be known, this is WAY more than a just some rom-com, so PLEASE don’t some in thinking this is some ecchi/ highschool drama. Although it have the tag romance, it’s a plot device used to develop the story that no one was expecting. This is a yakuza anime, through and through. If you can’t handle human trafficking, sex work, blackmailing, manipulation, realistic gang violence, and a butt load of mental illness, DON’T WATCH THE SHOWN.
For those who can a put their morality aside, not self insert themselves into a character, and just enjoy a well writing roller coaster, then this is the show for you.
I would share the plot but… I actually think just watching without any spoilers or thinks to look out for it WAY better.
My only advice is watch the show in dub and try being a little ope…

This is another one of those romantic comedies that either is under someone's radar or just your first time hearing this as you're reading this review. With a title like this, you might be thinking, "Oh, is this another generic rom-com that you'd see on any other streaming service?" Well, if you're asking what I'd say about this individual anime. Yes and no. Yes, because it is certainly another generic kind of romantic comedy with our two main leads, Kirishima and Yoshino, who are arranged together thanks to Yoshino's grandfather, hate each other at the start and later on, they start to get to love one another despite the flaws that this anime has. And I also said no because there is more to this rom-com than how you'd see from past projects. If I'd say the short story about this, I would…
