A fake relationship, a mysterious promise, and a whole lot of romantic misunderstandings. Nisekoi takes a familiar rom-com setup and turns it into an entertaining mess that keeps you wondering who the main character will actually end up with!
The story follows Raku Ichijo, the son of a yakuza boss who wants nothing more than to live a normal high school life. Unfortunately, when a conflict between rival gangs threatens to escalate, Raku is forced into a fake relationship with Chitoge Kirisaki, the daughter of a rival gang leader. The two can barely stand each other at first, but they have to pretend to be a couple to keep the peace. Things get even more complicated when Raku is reminded of a promise he made to a girl from his childhood, with a pendant and a key that might help him discove…

One of the romance classics of the years 2014/2015
Nisekoi is one of those romance animes that start in an extremely promising way, win over the viewer with charismatic characters and fun situations, but that, as they progress, end up getting lost in their own narrative choices. It is a work that has enough qualities to become a very pleasant experience, but it suffers from problems with rhythm, delay and enormous difficulty in developing its plot in a satisfactory manner. I really like some aspects of the work, but I can't ignore its flaws, especially when I look at the story as a whole.
Starting with the technical aspect, we have a very competent production. The animation is well done and has its own visual identity, focusing on vibrant colors, intense contrasts and stylized scenarios.…

This is one of the few animes that honestly got me hooked on its premise and how it was panning out! If you enjoy character dynamics in particular, you'd probably like this anime.
While it's been described as generic, this show has a lot of funny and cute character dynamics between the protagonist, Ichigo Raku, and the other heroines. While the plot of the entire show might be pretty generic, I don't think the dynamics, relationships, or writing was that cliche surprisingly.
This anime was pretty funny and interesting, but I think the whole yakuza background thing for the protagonist then the gang background for the heroine goes insanely underutilized. The show felt like it focused on their high school lives a LOT more than their interesting premise on why they're faking a relationship.…

Oh Nisekoi
What you could’ve been...
A real staple of the romance genre as a whole so I was really exited to jump right into it,
especially since my favorite animation studio is in charge of direction.
And speaking of said direction on that front it didn’t disappoint at all.
Shafts beautiful animation style toned down for a romcom might not be as beautiful as some of their other works but still better than what most of this medium has got to offer.
Welp and that’s kind of where my praise ends sadly_
What is a real shame because the first episode really hooked me and I was instantly invested in the premise and the given plot device…
But the more hours I’ve spend with these characters...the less interesting they and their story became.
I respect what they tried to do, but the red herrings…

Nisekoi is a rom-com, school harem anime that follows Raku, a high school student who happens to be the son of a Yakuza family, and his encounters with Chitoge (the daughter of a mafia boss), Onodera (a girl from a bakery family), and Marika (the daughter of a police chief).
For any rom-com fan, you’ve probably experienced Nisekoi at some point and can notice a big difference between the rom-com market back then and now. Nisekoi puts a huge amount of effort into its comedy, and the way it builds character relationships through the “lock and key” promise is especially unique and engaging. The opening and ending themes are great, the character designs are outstanding, and the animation and backgrounds have that distinctive, familiar style that Shaft brings to the table.

Nisekoi took me literally half a year to finish, which is kind of hilarious considering how easy and fun it is to watch. I kept taking breaks, coming back, forgetting where I left off, and then suddenly getting hooked again. But honestly, even with that chaotic watching schedule, it was really nice. The characters are cute, the comedy is fun, and the whole “fake relationship” chaos stays entertaining the whole way through. It’s not the kind of anime you rush through, it’s more like something you enjoy slowly, whenever you’re in the mood for something light and sweet. In the end, I’m glad I stuck with it, because Nisekoi really is a charming and enjoyable series.

Generic, Cliche, but most importantly commits the biggest sin anyone could ever commit; being a boring pile of horse shit.
Plot - 1 (Me being generous)
In terms of plot, it begins interesting(ish) by having Raku and Chitose being on like opposing gangs or something. Shit kinda just gets sidelined after a lil while though, and the story hones in on "romance." Which can we really call romance if literally nothing ever comes out of it? I don't remember a single ounce of romance carrying over to the next episode. I mean seriously, did the author use the men-in-black memory eraser after every romantic moment or what? It feels like it's one step forward, eighteen steps back repeatedly. Not only does that alone make things extraordinarily boring, the show is literally just not funny. Humor is s…

I don’t even know where to begin with this piece of dogshit excuse for an anime. Nisekoi is the embodiment of everything that’s wrong with mainstream rom‑com: endless, brain‑dead tropes stapled together with zero creativity, all wrapped in a Shaft paint job to distract you from the fact that it’s hollow inside. If this were my first introduction to anime, I wouldn't even be on this site.
First off, the premise is intriguing on paper: a fake relationship between the son and daughter of rival gangs. However, the execution is a monumental dumpster dive. Instead of exploring that setup, the show spends 20+ episodes recycling the same “misunderstanding → slap → blush → reset” loop until your will to live flatlines. They cram in love hexagons, accidental pervert scenes, tsundere abuse, and then…

Brief overview: It's about two couples who are forced to be couples in order to keep peace in their neighbourhood.
Review will be based on the whole series, up to season 2
9/10 for the whole series
Introduction
Raku Ichijou has big dreams when he started high school. He wants to study hard, go to a prestigious University and establish his own corporate empire. However, after his first day of High school, he is suddenly forced to be in a relationship with a girl called Chitoge as both families are from a rival mafia family. If no peace is settled between the two of them, then chaos and war would occur between both factions. Therefore, both of them are forced to be in a pretentious relationship.
Story 9/10
The story is about Raku, who is having a peaceful life with big future, dreams, an…

An old classic that still holds this day is how I would describe nisokoi.

It's been a few years since I first saw this series, and I don't remember it being so good.
The anime delivers on its promises, and delivers a good dose of romance and comedy, leaving you excited for the next episode every time the current one is close to the end.
The comedy scenes really made me laugh, and the romance isn't cheesy, just light, just the right amount, which makes the experience much more peaceful and enjoyable to watch, perfect for having a few laughs and relaxing.
The SHAFT studio did a good job adapting the manga, being faithful to the scenes, framing, and even lines, with some even being identical to the original material, which is a positive point, as it makes it easier to understand and prevents anyone from getting lost when reading the manga after the anim…

Ok, here is the thing.
You have an harem with:
-Donkan male lead, magime, straightforward.
Waifus:
-Kitoge, lead waifu, violent cute tsundere.
-Kosaki, wafu Bijin hasukashi.
-Tsugumi, an unrealistic mary sue.
-Marika, a schemy yandere that shows later on. -Maiko, Shuu, techincally a sidekick really, special mention because this one managed to be entertaining at times.
Nothing strange here. The premise is kind of creative thou, family circumstances forces the two leads into a fake relationship, this gives the show it's name. it's really a flavor kind of thing and the series evolves as expected.
So why to see this stuff in 2024 then? well it's because the Shaft magic tricks. Shaft here performs for what probably will be remember. Long history short, this series is about classic Shaft s…

Well if your here your probably looking for a harem or romantic anime with some sort of interesting twist.
I'll get straight to the point with this one, the anime is interesting, there are some cool aspects about the storyline, but really
they went a little light on the "harem" and "romance" qualities. It does get better later in the season but if your just looking for something focused on those aspects I don't think this one is for you. BUT if your just looking for something with a dash of harem/romance then this is overall a solid anime with an interesting story and solid animation Imo. The plot is decent though pretty generic, character development is there though nothing special - it was an entertaining anime altogether.
Though let me warn you: the ending isn't animated. You will ha…

This review applies to both seasons.
Every once in a while an anime adaptation comes along and really elevates the source material from what the manga was able to provide. Niskeoi is a perfectly fine story in manga form, but the art was not really that good. The anime is superior in every way except for completeness. I do not think the anime skips anything important, so a perfectly viable way of getting through all of the story is to watch the first two seasons and then switch to the manga if they need the complete story. Studio Shaft gave Nisekoi and Nisekoi 2 great animation. The character designs are good. The story, such that it covers, is good. Unfortunately, Nisekoi is a really long story, so not much happens in the anime adaptation, so expect more of a low-stakes, slice-of-life expe…

32 episodes later, just to realize that only half of the manga has been adapted. Well that's on me for not doing the research. Overall, season 1 is great, it's a good 8/10 with nice buildup and comedy. Season 2 starts great for the first 6 episodes and then nosedives to 3/10 in the last 6 episodes. I mean, who thought it would be a good idea to dedicate one of the last episodes to one of the girls losing weight and her frustration?
Anime hasn't been touched since 2015 so who knows if season 3 will ever arrive. You will be disappointed if you expected a cute romantic ending/confession, there is NONE of that in these 2 seasons. I'd say it's a nice harem if you want to read the continuation in manga, otherwise avoid if you are strictly anime only consumer.

just your run of the mill rom-com, but at least the vivid animation makes it a little better. all the characters are pretty bland and can even be annoying at times. the main characters are so dense its painful to watch at time. there are some great funny moments added in there. the amount of fan service when all the characters are like 15 is insane too. I watched both seasons and the OVAS but overall its very predictable and most of the episodes feel like filler. i'm a big fan of the romance genre and with this you're really not missing out on anything.

I feel like I’ve seen this show before. Not like deja vu but more like everything is the exact same to every other rom com on this list. Every character I've seen before. Every plot point I've seen before. They just changed the packaging. That’s how I feel about most of these shows. Why is the mystery element ‘which one of these girls was my childhood friend?’ and why is this a common plotline? Who cares? That was when you were a child, even if it turns out to be a completely different girl it doesn’t fucking change your current feelings so I don’t know why they make such a big deal out of it. Also do you have fucking amnesia, how is your memory that fucking bad and specific to know you had a best friend who was important to you, but not who that was. At least with Quintessential Quintuple…

Super Mario Maker is now eight years old and what better way to commemorate it than to review the anime the video game advertised in the form of Event Courses, Nisekoi: False Love. It's really funny since "Nisekoi" literally means False Love so the full title would actually be False Love: False Love. As a matter of fact, if you type False Love into the search bar, your first search result will point towards this anime.
True to the title, this anime is all about the main character Raku Ichijo being placed in a fake relationship with a transfer student named Chitoge Kirisaki. This is to prevent an intense turf war between the Shuei Clan and the Beehive Gang as Raku and Chitoge's fathers are the leaders of each group respectively. The task is easier said than done since Raku and Chitoge got…

Holy shit this sucks. Literally no character in this show is in any way likeable. The main heroine is just the most dogshit, copy-paste tsundere there is. The main protagonist is the most basic, limp dick, pussy out there who is denser than a neutron star. I don't even know why I watched and completed this show, maybe cause some characters were hot. I suppose this show would be considered okay if I recommended it to an 11 year old kid who's never seen any sort of romance show in their life and has no understanding of what good writing is.
Anyways, art is pretty good though. 4/10.

Nisekoi was an absolute joy to watch from start to finish, completely overflowing with personality, charm and great humour with endearing personal scenes woven in perfectly too. I love how everything studio shaft makes is always so distinguishable and I really think this show was brought to life by their incredibly unique direction and visual quirks. Every character felt so exaggerated yet so real at the same time, they're the kind of characters you can totally envision in different situations because of how well fleshed out their personalities are and it's always a joy watching them interact, especially Raku and Chitoge who I seriously cannot get enough of.
Speaking more about these characters, I really think each one of them is strong enough to make any scene entertaining. Often in show…
