Rent-a-Girlfriend

Introduction

Kazuya Kinoshita is a 20-year-old college student who has a wonderful girlfriend: the bright and sunny Mami Nanami. But suddenly, he does not. Without warning, Mami breaks up with him, leaving him utterly heartbroken and lonely. Seeking to soothe the pain, he hires a rental girlfriend through an online app. His partner is Chizuru Mizuhara, who through her unparalleled beauty and cute demeanor, manages to gain Kazuya's affection. But after reading similar experiences other customers had had with Chizuru, Kazuya believes her warm smile and caring personality were all just an act to toy with his heart, and he rates her poorly. Aggravated, Chizuru lambastes him for his shameless hypocrisy, revealing her true pert and hot-tempered self. This one-sided exchange is cut short, however, when Kazuya finds out that his grandmother has collapsed. They dash toward the hospital and find Kazuya's grandmother already in good condition. Baffled by Chizuru's presence, she asks who this girl might be. On impulse, Kazuya promptly declares that they are lovers, forcing Chizuru to play the part. But with Kazuya still hung up on his previous relationship with Mami, how long can this difficult client and reluctant rental girlfriend keep up their act? [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Alright, first of all, I want to say that this anime is bad, but not that bad. I watched all the way up to season 5. When I first started watching it, I honestly liked it quite a bit. This anime is the kind of story that develops over time with each season, so I thought they would finally start dating in season 4 or 5. But then I realized that the character development gets painfully slow every season. Damn, it feels like they're just dragging things out. Another issue is that this anime has way too much unnecessary text covering the screen and a bunch of pointless disclaimers. I mean, you could show most of that through visuals, come on... Besides that, there are so many useless scenes. Like when random NPCs see Kazuya and Chizuru together and go, "Wow, that girl is so pretty. Is the guy…

I'm going to start my review with one simple question: did you like Konosuba? if your answer is yes, this is going to be of your liking simply because it's just Konosuba 2.0 without a fantasy setting inbetween. The Seiyuus are the same and the impressions they make are almost the same (particularly Sora "Vernage" Amamiya sounds 100% like she sounded when she voiced Aqua), the concept behind this is the same (an harem show with four beautiful women that will keep the manly attention firmly in place thanks to well-placed fanservice shots), the names of some of the characters are the same (Kazuya/Kazuma), hell even some details like Mami's hair are very reminescent of something from Konosuba (the hair of Mami is reminescent of Darkness'). That's all you need to know, really, as plotwise and c…

This show is beyond over hated , the romance genre has turned into a cesspool of plain self insert Mcs that losers clinge to and call their "goat " because he gets all the women effortlessly . How fucking boring, the women fall for the main characters because he was nice to them 8 years ago? They fall in love because he didn't spit on them? Such shallow written women to fit the even more shallow main character that has no identity besides being holier than christ himself , or some form of chad that sweep every women of their feet. Rent a girlfriend offers you something more , A FUCKING STORY, the mc is insufferable he's cringy he's awkward , he sucks with women , he's no where near perfect THEY LET YOU KNOW AND HE IS AWARE FIRST EPISODE, but he fucking tries and has a damn good heart. Rent-A-Girlfriend review 🚩 (aka how to waste your brain cells) 1 Bro, I swear this anime is the definition of frustration in motion. 2 The main character? Certified dumbass. Dude has a genuine girl actually liking him. And what does he do? Nah, let’s keep renting the same girl who literally sees him as a paycheck. 3 Like bro imagine paying for rejection wrapped in a smile. That’s his whole life. 4 And Chizuru? She doesn’t care about him. She cares about her career and his wallet. 5 Every time I think he’s gonna grow a spine, he folds harder than wet cardboard. 6 The side characters honestly carry the show more than the MC does. Without them, it’s just "Pay-to-Simp: The Animation." 7 Watching him fumble genuine affection while throwing cash at rented love is painful. Like, you want…

It's harsh but I feel like watching goblins gngrp a saint, truly disgusting protagonist. Its not even funny anymore. If someone kind of accept or even love mc's characteristics, you probably have similar trait as well, you probably watch this show while thinking u r the mc and having a good dream pretending to be in a relationship with chizuru and said "It should've been me". Story 5/10 The story itself is not new, similar pattern like any other romance shounen story which has normal mc loved by high class girls, while most of the stories has an mc who at least a decent guy. Nothing new, well, one different thing in this show is the gap between protagonist and main heroine is same like a sky and a dog sh*t Art 9/10 This show can utilize the art to make chizuru looks more beautiful than…

Rent-a-Girlfriend is a nice romantic anime that can be funny, serious and dramatic. Basically, it is a drama that has distinctive main characters, some minor plots and the story is not rushed. Unfortunately, overall, this anime is rather average, because although it can throw up great funny scenes and nice dialogues, it more than often slips into a slow "unsalty, unsavory" plot, unnecessarily hints at scenes for older people and is also quite repetitive in certain "extrications" from the situation. Before watching it, I was hoping to get something in the style of 100 Girlfriends or Girlfriend, girlfriend - but that more or less didn't happen, the series is much less funny and energetic, although I would say that it has more plot on the other hand.

I honestly don’t know how to feel about this show. On one hand, Rent-A-Girlfriend is dumb fun. The art is nice, the girls are all entertaining in their own ways, and there’s definitely an addictive quality to the drama. On the other hand, the main character, Kazuya, is… rough. Like, really rough. He’s insecure, desperate, and makes one bad decision after another. The premise itself is actually kind of interesting—renting a girlfriend after a breakup—and I think it could have gone in a lot of directions. Instead, the story leans heavily on misunderstandings and awkward situations. It’s the kind of romcom where you can see the trainwreck coming a mile away, but you still watch anyway because you want to see how bad it gets. The girlfriends are what keep this show afloat more or less as they…

Let’s make one thing clear: I don’t care about the animation, I don’t care about the soundtrack, and I don’t even care about the overall story. All of those things are perfectly serviceable. My issue, the giant festering problem of this Anime, is the main character: Kazuya Kinoshita. This man is, without exaggeration, one of the worst protagonists I’ve ever had the misfortune of watching. He isn’t just pathetic he’s weaponized pathetic. Every second he’s on screen feels like psychological torture. He’s naïve to the point of brain damage, horny to the point of parody, and weak-willed to the point where you wonder if he even has a spine. Watching him stumble through life is like watching someone trip on the same rock over and over again, except instead of getting up and learning, he just c…

A disgusting virgin loser desperate for attention that would fuck a hole in the wall, if you are like this, this anime will be perfect for you. If everything you do your entire life has no personal meaning and you cant succeed in anything you do, this anime is perfect for you. If you hate yourself and want to see someone even worse or want to waste your time, this anime is perfect for you. The longest nothing burger of all time, how do people watch more than 1 season of this complete garbage(i did and regret every day), uninteresting female characters(good looking tho) and an unbearable, insufferable, disgusting, intolerable, unsupportable protagonist. You just have the worst combination ever BEYOND GARBAGE protagonist, BEYOND MID AF girls AND to complement all THIS PILE OF TRASH you hav…

doujins has more character development and story than this. started the show with morbid curiosity and I regret to doing it for a reaction channel. The main character has pretty much any redeeming traits that the love interest to fall in love with. and with a show like this trying to be romance it sure likes to remind people that everything is rental and the main character jacks of to them every op and ed. The show in itself on how it is written does not work, since anything that the main love interest says at least can be chocked up to her being insincere to keep up her appearance to other while in rental girlfriend mode, thus making nothing feel like it is progressing because it isn't. the love interest and mc do not do much outside of the show antics. in the show there is only a q…

There are a lot of unnecessary hate on the mangaka and this series. In this era where the market is flooded with isekai anime, its great to have a unique anime about college romance which is unusual. The story is unique, theres no other anime with similar plot like isekai anime which all have similar plot. The artstyle also great. The characters also add some spices to the story. If you want something sweet and heartwarming, then you may proceed to other romance anime. But if you are in for the rollercoster, come join the ride. If you find a character that annoys you, then you are free to drop and watch other anime. Theres no need to harbor hatred on this series.

PLEASE READ THIS…Guys this anime is great. Their love isn’t perfect probably like my English , but it’s human. In seeing beyond the surface I saw how this can be unique. The lesson that I learnt seeing in one day 3 seasons: 1)Doesn’t matter for how many insecurities a person has someways he’s made for matching another person ❤️ 2) I’ve realized that life it’s a race against time for our dreams . Even in a ADS you can see life lessons, yeaph.. 3) Find your story of love. CREATE IT!!. Stop consuming and find beautyes in imperfect things, because barely nothing is!! And with all my heart brothers and sisters I say to you to live at your max potential, to find love , even in darkness and to find light also in the abyss. Com’on, we got work to do!!😁

Rumours1977

An anime that has nothing to offer but a pathetic protagonist, who is a complete simp, a coward, and a stalker. In short, the personification of what could be defined as an insult to masculinity, and if anyone identifies with that protagonist, all I can do is feel sorry for him. Not to mention that the author of his manga is a mentally disturbed person who is obsessed with one of the characters in his work, to the point of making quite Creepy posts on social networks. Beyond the fact that it's an anime in which only the female characters possess quality animation, especially and appropriately in their body proportions and facial expressions, for which the credit goes to the animators. Its story and narrative are worthy, not of a first-semester literature student, but of a amateur who doesn…

This is my review on Rent-a-Girlfriend. I knew this anime was bad… but I didn’t realize just how far it sinks until I gave it a shot and supplemented that with full plot breakdowns. The deeper I looked, the worse it got. Every character is either manipulative, emotionally unstable, or outright insufferable. No one has growth. No one has self-awareness. And worst of all? The show celebrates this chaos like it's romance. Kazuya: The Worst Lead I’ve Ever Seen Kazuya is a trainwreck of a protagonist—sex-obsessed, insecure, spineless, and emotionally immature. His entire arc revolves around being dumped after a month and spiraling into obsession. His pathetic behavior is painted as sympathetic, but all it does is reinforce the worst kinds of male emotional dependency. He doesn’t grow, he loo…

Rent a Girlfriend – Review Rent a Girlfriend begins with a clever and timely concept: a brokenhearted college student hires a rental girlfriend to cope with a breakup. At first glance, it seems like a standard romantic comedy. But underneath the surface lies a modern reflection on loneliness, social pressure, and the boundaries between fake and real relationships. [Story] After getting dumped by his girlfriend Mami, 20-year-old Kazuya hires Chizuru Mizuhara from a rental girlfriend app. Things escalate quickly after a series of coincidences — it turns out Chizuru is not only his classmate but also his next-door neighbor. When Kazuya introduces her as his real girlfriend to please his hospitalized grandmother, they get stuck in a web of lies they must uphold for family and friends alike.…

I had dropped this anime for a while but I decided to give it another chance. If you watch it solely from the standpoint of comedy, it works very well. There are moments that will make you cry with laughter and the characters are good. Kazuya (aka Cuckzuya) is the king of the idiot characters, even above Denji. In his defense, he has zero experience and maybe it should be forgiven, but his lack of attitude, indecision and cowardice are infuriating at certain points in the story. That's what made me drop it since I was watching it solely from the standpoint of romance. I still have the theory that in the end, Mommy will ruin Kazuya's relationship out of jealousy of Chizuru in an attempt to appear as a "savior of the nation", and that will be the point where Kazuya will stop being an idiot.…

I can't stop thinking about a yt comment I saw that pretty much sums up my thoughts about this show: "Never thought I would get so invested in watching a walking bruh moment interact with 4 cute girls" -@renatos6711 4094 ancestors. Going back 12 generations I have 4094 ancestors. War, poverty, depressions; thousands of people had to endure those struggles, just for me to end up watching the most unapologetically insufferable face-palming migraine-inducing hair-ripping skin-tearing eye-gouging unwatchable downbad touchstarved gooner bait trash shit-stain of a show the great Japanese nation has ever contrived. Rent-a-Girlfriend sucks. Everything about it is terrible on paper. Kazuya is actually one of the stupidest people I've ever seen in media. There were multiple times where he did some…

I mean... it's Rent-a-Girlfriend. You probably already know what you're getting yourself into. If you don't, I'll briefly explain why it's not really all that noteworthy. People who are calling it CRINGE and THE WORST ROMANCE ANIME OF ALL TIME or whatever are kind of overexaggerating but it's a show where, for me, one girl is a clear winner (in my eyes... also in the anime itself but that's besides the point) and the rest are kinda bleh. The male cast kinda sucks. Kazuya is a big, stinky loser who is the choosiest of beggars. He's supposed to be this big loser that cannot ~acquire female companionship~ and after losing his one opportunity, he rents a girlfriend (he did the thing! He Rented-a-Girlfriend!) and blah blah blah now God and everyone thinks Chizuru is his girlfriend, right An…

Focusing on the most common criticisms, I can say that Kazuya is a good character within his own context. He's a jerk with no idea about love or women, which isn't unusual considering that in Japan and other places this topic isn't dealt with clearly, leading to many misconceptions about what "love" means to him. However, he has done very significant things throughout the series and, although he doesn't always realize the impact of his actions, he is doing so in small steps. The series is full of coincidence after coincidence that generate unexpected scenes and awkward moments, but they are funny and enjoyable (even the biggest haters will have enjoyed the cringe he gives in many scenes), and the animation manages to enhance these moments. The characters, in general, are quite good and yo…
