The Quintessential Quintuplets

The Quintessential Quintuplets

Introduction

Fuutarou Uesugi is an ace high school student, but leads an otherwise tough life. His standoffish personality and reclusive nature have left him friendless, and his father is debt-ridden, forcing his family to scrape by. One day during his lunch break, Uesugi argues with a female transfer student who has claimed "his seat," leading both of them to dislike each other. That same day, he is presented with a golden opportunity to clear his family's debt: a private tutoring gig for a wealthy family's daughter, with a wage of five times the market price. He accepts the proposal, but is horrified to discover that the client, Itsuki Nakano, is the girl he confronted earlier! After unsuccessfully trying to get back on Itsuki's good side, Uesugi finds out that his problems don't end there: Itsuki is actually a quintuplet, so in addition to her, he must also tutor her sisters—Miku, Yotsuba, Nino, and Ichika—who, despite the very real threat of flunking, want nothing to do with a tutor. However, his family's livelihood is on the line so Uesugi pushes on, adamant in his resolve to rid the sisters of their detest for studying and successfully lead them to graduation. I gave this 1st season a solid 7/10. The first thing I would like to note is that the story was interesting enough, and the characters likeable enough, that I will finish the story and review the ending of the romance mystery. The positives of the show for me were character development, the teasing of the mystery, and the comedy. It is a harem, which I am usually not to interested in, however each of the 5 girls all have their own unique personalities and develop in separate ways, which made me like and dislike characters. Also, I ultimately rooted for one to be the one he marries. The overall mystery of which girl he will end up with kept me interested and my guess, and hopeful pick, changed throughout the season which kept me wanting the next episode. The comedy was funny but not too o…

Note: This will be a review of the series in its entirety- the two anime seasons, the specials and the movie. Overview: Harem anime, am I right? They practically write themselves, and not in a good way. Many examples of the genre use the same old tired formula we've heard a hundred times, and often end without any proper resolution to their plot if there ever even was a plot in the first place. Are you as tired of that kind of anime as I am? If so, then good, because you're going to like "The Quintessential Quintuplets", which doesn't subvert expectations so much as it outright defies them. It proves itself right away to be far from your typical harem anime, and maintains this identity from beginning to end, save for a few bumps along the way. Story (8/10): "The Quintessential Quintuplet…

It's a good anime, in the first season focused more on introducing the main characters their personalities, likes, and daily activities. The show is designed to let you get to know each character and consider which one would be the best match for him; the main goal is for you to figure out which of the five is the right one to marry him. All five of them have their choices, and that first season show how each one of them realizes your feelings for Fuutarou, It’s a really good anime for someone looking to start watching romance anime, a real gem.

The Quintessential Quintuplets is a romance anime about a nerdy boy struggling financially, hired to tutor 5 rich quintuplets who are going horrible at school. The plot is as simple as that; at first everyone of them doesn't want the MC, so he has to work hard in order to get their recognition and trust and make them go well at school. Of course all of them have basically tsundere personalities, with perfect faces and big boobs… to be expected from a romance anime this banal. I’m not saying this ruins the story, but I would just like to make clear that the plot isn’t anything too original, only having the multiple girls as its main advantage, as each can have different personalities and relations with the main charactrer. I should add that the MC is the classic trope of the nerd who stu…

What makes the show stand out Group dynamism and individual characteristics, while staying (emotionally) grounded, made it stand out. It's not an over-the-top harem or polygon drama, no - it's the opposite. The characters see each other respectfully for the most part - our male lead does suffers some harshness initially, admittedly - and the producers do a very good job of protecting the sisterhood throughout the series. The drama, or friction rather, is created tactfully and with care for emotional developments. If you enjoy wholesome romcoms with sound main cast, this is a solid recommendation. Narration It's a linear narration and it is easy enough to follow, and occassionally the producers throw in twists with the effect of deeper character developments and plot line, without complic…

So you've come here to ask me why I rated this show so highly. As a fellow man without a girlfriend the feeling of loneliness creeps upon me, and that's when I decide to watch some romance anime and see what life has to offer me. Lets get into the anime itself the animation style is amazing, this could sound like glaze but give me a moment I've watched trash-anime and seeing a frame actually moving makes me happy. I may sound stupid but if you've only eaten stale bread with wine your whole life and you suddenly eat something amazing what are your first words. Yes, exactly that's what I thought I really love this anime the build up the way all of the sisters have different personalities but still want to be one happy family brings me to tears. You could call me an idiot you could call me…

Despite being considered one of the best harem anime, it's just an average one for me. The animation is nice, there's a little bit character development, and the story progresses well, but for some reason, I couldn't fully connect with it. And I don't know why. The characters are standard: a tsundere, a dandere, a kuudere, and some others. There are no interesting characters. The classic father who doesn't care about his childrens, the classic mother who dies when she's childs at 5, and that's it. All the characters are simple, but at least there's some character development, which is nice. I really liked the animation style and color palette. The animation was good for a romantic-harem anime. One of its biggest problems is that the characters can't properly talk to the opposite sex whe…

It's been a while since I had watched anime and this was my first in a long time... and it did NOT disappoint. The plot was easy to follow, not to jumbly or confusing. The premise is interesting AS HELL, and the character interactions are fun as hell to see. I still can't get over the premise. THE PREMISE. It just keeps reeling me in. Oh my days. OH MY DAYS. I can't predict who might get chosen, I really hope it's Miku though. I HOPE, before I continue. The art style was pretty good, but nothing to really write home about. It did its job and was very pleasing to the eyes. The interactions are just so damn realistic and awkward it warms my heart haha. I highly recommend this, though I recommend watching this privately. If anyone even realizes that you're watching an anime about 5 girls lik…

A story about a guy tutoring his five female classmates, who are quintuplets with completely identical appearance but completely different personalities? And it starts with a scene of protagonist marrying one of of them in the future, so harem end is denied from the get-go? Sign me the fuck up. I mean, 5-toubun is still very much a harem romcom with all the positives and negatives the genre entails. The personalities of Nakano sisters fall into the same old categories we've had for decades, there are the usual set-ups like protagonist bumping into one of the girls fresh out of shower, etc. But on the other hand, while not exactly revolutionary, 5-toubun's "quintuplets" thing puts a twist on some of the scenes. Which of the five girls did Uesugi talk to? We, the audience, can often discern…

Having watched this anime 4 years ago, and only writing a review for it now looking back at it, I have only a couple of highlights to share but most important of them is The plot line and character cast of a poor, smart and hard working male catering to a quintuple of rich, but semi-delinquent females is a type of dichotomy which I noticed just from the mentions of this anime very early on. It is also something that fascinated me about this anime throughout just this one season. I am serious about that because the plot line is also filled with many points of contentions such as this dichotomy Not only that but the anime having infusions of romance does contain struggles between multiple parties(Harem anime!) Just from those two points, the anime is already a decent roler coaster from t…

Firstly, I would like to say this is, from what I can recall, the first review I have written for anything. There will not be any major spoilers, and I will try to keep it short so if you’re deciding whether to watch this anime, you can decide faster. I’m not sure how many people will even read this, but if nothing else, it’s purely to put my thoughts about this show down. TL;DR: The Quintessential Quintuplets may look like a typical harem at first, but it’s really a heartfelt romance and slice-of-life story about growth and genuine love. Each of the five sisters develops in meaningful ways, and the main character, Futaro, stays fair and sincere rather than playing with anyone’s feelings. The story builds up naturally to a satisfying and emotional conclusion, supported by warm visuals and…

Another harem show, As far as harems go it's a good one. I really really hate and detest harems but as far as harems go this one was somewhat enjoyable. There is a wide variety of characters with different personalities and the interactions between them make this show interesting and there's funny moments too! I was recommended this like 20,000 times so that was the only reason I watched it, Everyone kept saying to me I have to watch it since it's the greatest thing ever and I'm just like miku~ you're like mikuuu you have to watch it!! And I was like nope I don't like this sorta anime but you know I caved eventually in eventually after all these years! Miku is a really lovely and cute character, And I can see how others see me in her, But I do much prefer an anime where the progtanist…

They really don’t make them like this anymore. Or at least that’s what I feel like. I watched the first few episodes of this many years ago and for a reason I can’t remember dropped it. Likely because the site I was watching it on got taken down. Damn government. But ever since it came to Netflix I’ve been waiting for the chance to finish it. It was excellent and I’m honestly rushing through writing this review just so I can start watching the 2nd season. Okay, starting with the basics. The visuals are actually fairly deceiving. They’re not as good as you remember (or you expect). Infact, in many scenes it’s very basic. Low detail faces, odd proportions etc. I say this is surprising because when you think of Quintessential Quintuplets you think of high quality artwork, the visuals in the…

Oh my god I have never seen an anime make me so miserable, the main cast of characters are just really unlikeable, the girls are just stereotypes of different personalities and most of them are terrible and they all treat the main character like shit I have no idea how futaro can even stand them. The plot is really poorly paced and takes forever to get anywhere with most plot points not leading to anything. Other than my negative thoughts the anime itself if just a typical harem anime with little substance to it. There are way to many conflicts between the characters making all them feel pointless because they all end up happy and back together in the end There are better character arcs and stories in fucking SpongeBob than this.

My(F20) boyfriend(M20), recommended this to me. I usually do not watch harem and honestly, I was confused as to who will be end game couple. Ended up liking the different character developments and the unique personalities each quintuplet had. 7/10 though some gripes i had was how some of the characters wee pick me at times lmao but i guess that is just anime plot for you if u are into this sort of thing. my personal favourite character is itsuki as she was the most motivated even by her own vices. Futaro please make up ur mind on which girl to pick!!!!!!

8/10 (This review is for the entire series: S1, S2, Movie) The Quintessential Quintuplets contains many ingredients that make it a strong contender in the buddy love genre. With tight character work, cute designs, and the avoidance of cheesy drama, tropes, and distasteful fan service, it’s up there in what Shonen romance has to offer. MC Fuutaro, while somewhat unlikeable, grows and changes from a hardened, socially awkward teenager into one who sees the true value of relationships. This feel-good story has been done many times before, but Quintuplets can boldly say it carries substance and style. The show commits to organic character development as the viewer sees the broader cast grow and change. Unfortunately the large amount of characters prevents all key players from their developmen…

During the release, this show had a massive following because of its anticipated adaptation from the manga, maybe because of its favorable genre of harem. Its one of the ways to get a good amount of viewers regardless if the show is good or bad. But this kind of shows only get you as far as people watching up to EP 6-8. But its not the case for this... Saying this right off the bat, this show is rated higher compared to its successors since the plot that time was not saturated considering the amount of shows like this today. And also, there is a story that makes sense. Apart from the 'glaze' over our MC and fanservice that is usually present with this type of shows, you learn a lot from each of the Nakano sisters as you go on and their character development is fascinating. Watching them…

It's just a harem anime I guess. I'm not one how typically watches this kind of anime so I don't have too strong of an opinion. The characters are a bit one-noted and bland, the animation is subpar, and the story isn't very interesting. That being said I wouldn't call it "bad" cause it's not the worst thing I've watched. The quints can make fun remarks and be generally cute, and it's a fairly good anime to just have on in the background rather than something to really dive into. idk this is all coming from the guy who isn't into harem animes like this.

The Quintessential Quintuplets is one of those rom-coms that starts off feeling like just another harem anime, but it actually brings some heat with solid character growth and a mystery romance twist. You got Futaro, a broke but smart tutor, and five identical sisters who are all struggling academically (and in life, honestly). At first, it’s all fun and games, but as the story progresses, things get real, especially with the love angles and personal struggles of each quintuplet. Story & Pacing The whole “which sister does he marry?” setup keeps you invested, and the pacing is decent—starts off lighthearted, then gradually builds up the emotional weight. Some episodes feel a bit slow, especially in Season 1, but once the drama kicks in, you’re locked in. Season 2 definitely upped the sta…
