Toradora!

Toradora!

Introduction

Ryuuji Takasu is a gentle high school student with a love for housework; but in contrast to his kind nature, he has an intimidating face that often gets him labeled as a delinquent. On the other hand is Taiga Aisaka, a small, doll-like student, who is anything but a cute and fragile girl. Equipped with a wooden katana and feisty personality, Taiga is known throughout the school as the "Palmtop Tiger." One day, an embarrassing mistake causes the two students to cross paths. Ryuuji discovers that Taiga actually has a sweet side: she has a crush on the popular vice president, Yuusaku Kitamura, who happens to be his best friend. But things only get crazier when Ryuuji reveals that he has a crush on Minori Kushieda—Taiga's best friend! Toradora! is a romantic comedy that follows this odd duo as they embark on a quest to help each other with their respective crushes, forming an unlikely alliance in the process. The only reason why I watched this anime is because I main Taiga Aisaka in Dengeki Bunko fighting climax ignition. Thats the only reason I watched the anime and I was mostly very bored. There is few scenes I liked but they were nothing special. I personally don't like tsundere characters in anime so thats also a thing I didn't like. But Taiga Aisaka in Dengeki Bunko fighting climax ignition is super fun to play. I love playing her and making her sled combos. I love her moveset and combos a lot. I love her toolkit due to the well roundedness of it. She has a lot of big moves and I adore her trash can. Her trash can is consistently one of the most funniest fighting game moves I have ever interacted with.

toradora is a fun romcom that slowly abandoned every quality i initially liked about it. forgive me for perhaps being single-minded, but when i sit down to watch a show, i much prefer one where i'm not being consistently ragebaited by characters, who i have to assume care about each other, being far more interested in coming across as deep and edgy than in effectively communicating their feelings. and so nothing is resolved; the lively chemistry which drew me in simply draws evermore out of reach in service of pointless melodrama. despite my interest in anime girls, i have no interest in the goings-on of real-life angsty teens. fortunately in the real world we have rules and boundaries that put limits on teenage angst, something which i guess does not exist in the world of toradora. chara…

I started watching *Toradora* somewhat by chance. I simply expected to watch a classic romantic comedy. Despite being slightly disappointed by the first few episodes, I think I’ve actually found my favorite romance (yes, romance, not rom-com)! The only reason this anime doesn't get a 10 from me is its the start, which felt a bit too rushed for my taste; certain plot threads were never even resolved, making the first four or five episodes mediocre. Once you get past those initial episodes, however, it just keeps getting better. I can also say that no episode—specifically episode 24—has ever made me so angry, and while I’ve almost never shed tears over an anime, episode 25 made me cry. I really wish the beginning had been a bit better so I could give it a 10, or even higher (even though tha…

In my opinion, Toradora is the funniest and most entertaining romance anime and the perfect beginner to get into romance. One thing I really like about Toradora is that there isnʼt some clingy and weird romance between Ryuuji and Taiga. Rather there is always something funny about their dynamic that you can enjoy and laugh about. Even though both of them are in love with each other, they are still able to maintain that friendship dynamic, which makes their relationship feel like it isnʼt based solely on romantic attraction. But itʼs not just them, other characters like Ami, Minori and Yusaku also donʼt act overly romantic to the point it becomes annoying seeing them on the screen. It doesnʼt feel like youʼre watching a typical romance anime, where everyone is constantly trying to impress…

An impressive anime; I have no words to describe how beautiful it is. The show is built around two people who appear cold and tough on the outside but are gentle and friendly on the inside; the heart of the series lies in the web of relationships—you never quite know who loves whom—and the storytelling surrounding the characters' pasts is magnificent. Its style clearly highlights the romance genre, and even though it dates back to 2008—making it 18 years old at the time of this review—it remains one of the most inspiring anime I have ever seen. However, the anime is very good; the 25 episodes are well worth it, and I'm sure you won't regret watching it.

SPOILER ALERT: Bro Toradora is the ultimate proof that anime fans will mistake severe domestic abuse for "cute romance." Taiga is not a tsundere she is a certified legally dangerous gremlin who treats Ryuuji like her personal property. She treats him like an unpaid intern and uses his face as a punching bag while contributing absolutely nothing to society. If the genders were reversed this anime would be a psychological horror about domestic violence no cap. The biggest crime here is how they absolutely butchered Minorin. She was the only sane person in this entire circus. Hardworking, emotionally mature and actually had a functional brain. But the writer literally forced her to throw her own happiness in the trash just so this toxic midget could win the prize. Minorin had to play 4D…

What emotions did I feel while watching Toradora? Well different ones. It didn't move me to tears, even during the most emotional scenes. Sometimes it was funny, especially when the characters react in a WTF way, in a quirky way: some of Minori's acting, some of Kitamura's laughs. I was bored sometimes too. And I felt confused multiple times, when I didn't understand the reactions of the characters, their behaviour, their motives. This confusion made me wonder why I had difficulty forming an opinion on this anime. Because there are some good things and some things I didn't appreciate. The animation is nice and colorful. The music is OK, there are one or two BGM tracks that I like. The first Opening and Ending are nice and catchy after multiple listens. The second opening and ending didn't…

ive watched quite a few anime in my life and i wont lie to you all, this was a ride. I feel like u actually have to be a bit older to watch this show about young boys and girls falling in love cause there is way more to it than it seems on the surface. For example it is very easy to resonate with ryujis mother, this "family situation is very usual and yet in anime barely scratched, Or taiga not knowing what to do with her life, having no direction and just letting her self be carried by the wind, hoping whatever she does just workes out. It truly feels like everyone can find themselves in this anime, no matter the age, yet the older you are the more stuff you notice. recommend it with my whole heart. Just to add, i read some of the negative reviews and it seems like they didnt even watch…

first review on here and it's for this anime 🙃 i have mixed feelings about it. in the first half of the show, i literally couldn't stand some of the main cast - particularly taiga and kawashima. i just found them so insufferable and i feel like the first half of the show didn't all need to have been made? like there was so much repeated stuff that i wasn't enjoying. i dropped this show like twice, until i saw more things come up about how people really enjoyed the later parts of the show and the development of the main couple's relationship. second half of the show (THANK GOODNESS) was actually better, waaaaay more interesting and engaging (imo) with actual plot moving. but i felt like there was so much happening, with quite a lot of it feeling a bit extreme, even for a melodrama enjoyer…

Toradora is definitely a "trust the process" anime. The first three episodes are tropey, convoluted, and largely mediocre, ripe with subpar dialogue and scene transitions that are either unsatisfying or confusing. Even as the show finds it footing, some issues manage to persist: the dialogue often sacrifices logical flow for energy and momentum, the MC unnecessarily tests the audience's patience with his inability to empathize with those around him (and is rarely directly confronted about it), and the show's pacing struggles with maintaining a consistent acceleration, and instead opts for start-and-stop structure that ultimately results in a somewhat rushed ending. Toradora shines, however, where it counts most and the entire reason most people enjoy the romance genre in the first place:…

There's a unique sweetness hidden in the relationship between Taiga and Ryuuji. There's melancholy in them, they are often misunderstood by their peers, with personal issues that might not be the end of the world but that mean the world to them. Taiga's loneliness hits even harder after a slapstick scene. Ryuuji's insecurity might be frustrating at first, but it's only there to show how much he grows out of it, when Taiga is involved. This is a romcom without the usual 1 or 2-dimensional cardboard characters you see in many shows. The cast might not be huge, but two MCs and the three supporting characters have depth that sometimes lacks even in drama shows. To an extent, Toradora! is almost like Clannad After Story: a tale about two flawed teenagers striving to become adult. And while it…

First of all, I'm sorry if My English really absurd! I don't understand why an anime like this gets such high ratings and is quite popular with so many people. If the story still focuses on high school age, I always want stories that are reasonable and simple (*except for genre thriller or mystery) but for me the main character (*Taiga) has the worst and most disgusting character. She’s greedy, her character is indecisive, and seems like she wants to be understood, while having no principles at all. Every main character doesn’t have a clear role. It’s as if the story only focuses on Taiga and Ryuuji. They both like different characters, but end up hurting those characters just so they can be together. Why didn’t they do it from the start *wtf?! If you want to watch a Drama-Romantic Anim…

Streak crying, streak peak, streak fire, this is baked gas masterpiece of a romance...I like animes where they surprise in terms of human emotions, humans are unpredictable and can make impulsive decisions, just like this anime, it's stupid but it brings us happiness and show how wholesome love could be. Even if it's fictional, they proved that love exists without a cost. Besides, I've been DYING to look for a romance anime where both leads YEARN for each other, now THIS is call YEARNING. They both loved and accept each other, literally soulmates fr. I also loved how they gain character devlopement because of each other, they were together during their devastasting moments in life, it felt like you would crave just seeing them in a frame! Best part was this anime show growth of every class…

(in my opinion) this anime is kinda perfect I love it so much, The story is great, the characters are great, the soundtrack is great, everything is great , I’ve never been so attached to the characters in a romance anime like on this one, all the episodes are great to watch, not a single boring episode It’s one of the best romance anime of all time, definitely worth watching The ending ALMOST broke me There’s something about the anime that didn’t feel quite right (ep 25, the ending) but that ends up making more sense eventually, it’s still a masterpiece and I’ll definitely rewatch this a million more times

Either you were around back when it first started and got interested because everyone kept calling Taiga "moe" and you couldn't escape the many many many youtube clips and gifs on tumblr or you're one of those newgens who start having a violent panic attack anytime you see a certain 4 letter word...weakling. Whichever you are, you see the red text above. Toradora suuuuuuuuuuuucks...mostly. It has good moments but the bad moments stick out so damn hard that it gets exhausting. Taiga is cute and that's it. The romance is cute and that's it. It is good at being cute and even then it's not like it particularly excels at cuteness. It is ok and that's it...until it starts having the balls to take itself seriously when it really doesn't deserve to. Anytime something actually related to romant…

You haven't seen this anime yet? You are either young, fresh into anime, or were like me: a 90's anime fan that dropped this show. Well, I finally gave it a honest try. Characters: 9/10 Story: 9/10 Art: 9/10 Animation: 8/10 Character Development: 10/10 Realist human emotions: 10/10 Realistic problems: 10/10 Toradora! was actually a breath of fresh air from current 2020's romance anime. If your reading this then like me you probably just needed that final push. Well, don't drop it this time if you had. Give it a few episodes. It is not an "enemies to lovers" anime like people will claim. Watch it and you will understand. What I think this show did best was the romantic feelings felt real and natural. It wasn't sudden, it wasn't forced, it had it's ups and downs. Taiga and Ryuuji feel li…

English Version: My review for Toradora!: I really like the art style, and the anime has a sweet story. All the characters have something unique and are well done. I especially like Taiga’s personality. She’s what makes the anime stand out. It’s a different kind of romance than what you’re used to. There’s hardly anything I didn’t like or would change drastically. The ending was somewhat predictable, but it didn’t harm the anime. I don’t think everyone will enjoy this anime, but anyone who likes a somewhat cheesy yet still good romance story will love this anime! Opinion on Toradora! Bento Battle: The episode doesn’t add much to the story, but anyone who enjoyed Toradora will be happy about this extra episode. I finally finished Toradora in 2025 - 17 years after its release. I tried many years ago, but I was never much into romance shows and dropped it after few episodes. Watching it now, I feel like I got it in a way I wouldn't had earlier. At its heart, Toradora is all about romance - love triangles, misunderstandings, emotional drama ; and it really drives that "life doesn't always go the way you expect" - line that is repeated several times and will be stuck with you for sure. First half of the series totally hooked me. Comedy was great, character interactions had spark and everything felt smooth and fun. It was cozy, simple and you felt things would unfold naturally. Made in 2008, animation is great - or at least in first half. I noticed drop in quality (characters, movements) at episod…

Very real portrayal of love :) there are stuff that are unrealistic in the series but all in all thats expected since its an anime lol. but it really does portray how people feel and the struggles people have in a very realistic way. a lot of the themes and even the things the characters said/did are stuff I experienced myself. especially the kitamura love drama. felt right at home there for half that storyline 😭 there are some aspects that i guess you could react negatively on, such as everyone being overly selfless trying to help someone else get together with the person they themself like. or how some characters are built, like Taiga being a little annoying and insulting everyone calling people dogs all the time (omg same twiiiin). but i just think it makes her character more intere…

I WAS SO UPSET ABOUT THIS. I gave it a second chance because I thought that I was being grumpy when I gave up after episode 1 a few years ago, - I finished it this year and it was not worth all the 24 episodes I have to endure. I am sorry but it was so boring, I think it could have been better if it was like 12 episodes or something... But the main couple was cute, okay. Ii wish we could have seen them more though because we don't get to see how they manage their couple. I also like the dynamics with the characters we first don't really like, with the sudden character development that makes us like them in the end.
