Chivalry of a Failed Knight

Chivalry of a Failed Knight

Introduction

There exist few humans in this world with the ability to manipulate their souls to form powerful weapons. Dubbed "Blazers," these people study and train at the prestigious Hagun Academy to become Mage-Knights; among the students is so-called failure Ikki Kurogane, the sole F-rated Blazer. However, when the worst student in the academy sees Stella Vermillion, an A-ranked Blazer who also happens to be a princess, naked, she challenges him to a duel with dire stakes—the loser becomes the slave of the winner. There's no possible way that Stella can lose, right? As he tries to prove his strength to a world that believes him to be the weakest, Ikki gains new friends, wisdom, and experience. After 5 years or so, I decided to do a rewatch on one of the show that made me like anime. And I'm pretty disappointed of it, so I putted an 6/10. But just because of the nostalgia I give him an 7/10. When I first decided to ranked it, I only judged it based on my old memories, putting a 8/10 , beacause even if the show was incredible for my young self it's an old anime with all the typical stereotype of old animes, very ecchi and predictable story. Even if it's an old anime, it got a pretty good animation with some nice music overall for it's age So basically recommanded for kid.

This show was a slog to get through. Subjective, but this series made me say, on a number of occasions: "In the history of things that never happened, this happened the least". I don't normally think like that when watching anime, but this one is so unbelievably dumb at times that I could not help myself. It takes itself way too seriously most of the time, trying really hard to be 'cool' - but ends up being an edgy, cringe-worthy, mess. This is strange, as the story and the premise should by all rights be entertaining to watch, but it just isn't, somehow. There is a romance-element to the story, but honestly, it felt really forced and tacked-on as an excuse to fit in some ecchi stuff. The "love story" between the main character and the red-haired girl is shallow (to say the least) and…

I have been begging for a season 2 of this anime for over half a decade now. A season 2 would feed families. Never will I ever get tired of the overlooked and mislabled, secretly incredibly talented swordsman trope. The Ittou Shura arguably increases my blood flow better than oranges, face icing, and thirty minutes of cardio. This anime is one of the perfect shows to get a friend interested in anime as long as they are a boy in highschool with raging hormones and like swords. That is because, it does have a fair share of fan service. But listen, the Ittou Shura makes up for it. And well... Stella.

This show is a mixed bag and definitely has its faults. You can continue listing out shortcomings or merits, but I think in part this is due to the show being a product of its time. Pros: The biggest thing that the show has going for it is its unrelenting presentation and commitment to its values. It doesn't try to pretend to be something its not. The animation and pacing is hit-or-miss but is generally better than average. Composition of scenes is also nice and dynamic camera angles are featured frequently. The story progresses and concludes in a somewhat satisfying manner. The main relationships seem to be mostly closed and brought to a happy conclusion by the end of the season. The show does not leave us with any major cliffhangers, but rather just an open end which can be ignored eas…

Lots of potential with nowhere to go... This story centers around Ikki AKA, "The Worst One," who is supposedly the worst student in the school, training to become a knight. I really love these stories where the "worst" becomes the best, and overcomes seemingly undefeatable obstacles in their pursuit of getting stronger and better. However, this story didn't show any of that. Ikki is never actually the worst student. The moniker is only even attributed to him because his family did everything they could to fail him. At least, this is what we're told. We're never shown his family working with the director from the year before. Yet, even if we were - this plot point still doesn't make any sense to me. How could they work the system so much to their advantage by "giving him tests he can't…

Back in the day, I watched a lot of shows with this setup—school setting, overpowered MC, some fantasy and romance—and honestly, most of them were trash. But this one actually surprised me in a good way. The story isn’t super deep, but it's mostly logical and well-paced. Characters develop emotionally, and by the end of the season, you really feel like things have changed compared to the first episodes—which is something many similar shows completely fail at. There is some fan service, but I’d say it’s handled tastefully and doesn’t overshadow the plot. The art style still holds up surprisingly well—even now, I think it looks better than most currently airing anime, and we have to remember this show is nearly 10 years old. Overall, if you’re into school-themed anime with a skilled MC and…

After watching this anime, I became motivated to find anime similar to this anime. Because this anime really provides the emotional closeness that I'm looking for in romance anime. Although this anime is categorized as a harem anime, the romantic relationship of the main male character is only with one woman. Therefore, the audience does not need to guess who the final partner of the main character is. Next, I want to discuss the main characters, in my opinion this couple is very harmonious because they are both strong and unmatched. Ikki and Stella are the ideal couple, they complement each other. Stella has a tsundere personality but is also frank in showing her feelings. Ikki's level of communication is quite good, because if there is a misunderstanding he immediately resolves it. T…

The summary is that it's a massive, incoherent mess that doesn't have any proper direction. Things happen completely out of left field. To add insult to injury, some things are also left completely unresolved. There's some random incest and fanservice thrown in for some reason. The romance is also completely out of left field where the MC becomes a couple all of a sudden. It is also written so horribly that you're left to wonder why they even bothered. The sad thing is that the main plot actually did have some potential. I'm a sucker for these stupid plots where the protagonist wins through an unconventional skill or power against all odds. The most surprising thing is that the show sets up the premise amazingly. Usually, other shows struggle with making the unconventional power feel unco…

I don't think the reviews fully do this anime justice, nor do they point out the immense faults this anime has. Basically, this has a really good romance, and an amazing ending, with everything else just being solidly mediocre, or just plain stupid. I will go down lists of positives and negatives (with thoughts mediocre parts included in the negatives). Positives- Grade A romance between Ikki & Stella: This is probably the biggest draw to this entire anime. With each character actually gaining a decently well written romantic arc that concludes perfectly. I don't want to spoil it for you so I will be vague on their development. They are a bit of a cliché of the "opposites attract" stereotype, but their growth throughout the anime is well done, and the ecchi scenes actually help to give th…

Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry... where do I even start? I mean, I've seen some great anime in my time, but this one... it's something special. First of all, Stella. Oh my god, Stella. She's literally the most adorable and cute girl I've ever seen in anime. I mean, I'd marry her in a heartbeat if I could. But it's not just her looks - her personality, her strength, her vulnerability... she's the perfect waifu material. And then there's Ikki, the main character. Dude's got some serious guts. I mean, the way he faces down impossible odds, just to be with Stella... it's inspiring, you know? I was cheering him on the whole time, even when things seemed hopeless. The fight scenes? INSANE. I mean, I've seen some epic battles in anime before, but these ones... wow. The animation, the choreography, t…

This show was genuinely infuriating to watch, throughout the whole show i would say there was about 15 minutes of romance between the mc and love interest. 90% of the show was the mc doing a bunch of stupid shit with other girls. The romance of this show is a 1/10, the ecchi of this show is a 2/10. The fighting in this show is okay, there is one or two cool fights i’d give the fighting a 5/10. Let’s be real, who watches an ecchi for the fighting? Anyways if you’re looking for an ecchi / romance don’t watch this it’s a real stinker.

This is the anime that started it all for me. So yeah I'll have Bias. The only thing wrong with the whole series as that it ends at 12 episodes. Ikki Kurogane is probably one of my favourite MCs of all time. The embodiment of hard work will take you the whole way. Everyone loves an underdog story. The flow of the anime was perfect. slowly building and revealing the true powers of Ikki. There was no bad or boring fights. Additionally, they was frequent enough but not overloading the storyline with pointless flashiness. It allowed time to develop story while also keeping high engagement. I literally binged the whole thing in one sitting. If you like flashy fights where even though you know the winner you still feel the stakes. This is a no brainer. Side note: A lot of people ment…

If You're a Person who doesn't like dumb ecchi scenes or things that don't make sense this show is not for you The theme of the show in simple terms is Hardwork>Talent which i Think the MC does a Good Job portraying The Voice acting for the Sub and Dub together would be a 7.5/10 The animation Quality doesn't drop during fights so If you're a person who likes watching thrilling Fights with Magic and Weapons You'll Like it The Ecchi scenes are pretty much tolerable tho I understand it's needed to create a balance of comedy which the show doesnt have any other means to demonstrate The Relationship and The backstories between the Two MC and the side character is pretty Good The story Would Get a 8/10 from me I pretty much Enjoyed The Show and it's Good so there's a chance you also mi…

To put it simply, watch this if you want an entertaining series, not a meaningful one. This is an important thing to consider if your thinking about watching this. The series definitely has some things going for it, the art for one is gorgeous, so if you were drawn to it just because of that for that reason its totally understandable. Second of all, the fight scenes. overall the clashes between characters fell unique, and the abilities characters had feel fresh and unique for an anime that has superpowers present. tropes aside, the concept of the anime is interesting. Now, if you want a romance between characters that has you rooting for them to progress further as they go through their ups and downs, this is not for you. A proper romance anime is one that takes you on an emotional journ…

Absolute Gold. This was (I suspect) my first ever anime, and it was a good choice, the story may be a little wonky here and there, but everything else was just perfect, absolutely perfect. I'm not the biggest fan of fighting animes, but Rakudai Kishi No Cavalry blew the metaphorical socks off. Positively. The characters are well-written and sometimes even comedic, which only adds more points to it. Yes, there are many clichés and stereotypical tropes, with the show trying to be different, but ignoring that, it reaches a golden peak. If I could rate it higher than 10/10, I would.

Rakudai starts off a bit cliché, with some nice effects in a fight here and there, but pretty common overall. He wins you over with the characters however, their attitudes are somewhat out of the ordinary. Stella is much more perverted and interested in the male body than the pure women who like to show it so much in anime, and Ikki is more cock-faced and sincere than usual. Following that, the anime shows a good use of romantic comedy, and that the director knows how to create exciting battles, in episodes 3 and 4. The work also breaks a great taboo of romantic comedies in its 4th episode. What comes after is a weaker arc, but still reasonable, and with an interesting character. The great merit and attraction of this work, however, was its ending, the breaking of the romance is nice, but…

Trashiest of trashes. They started somewhat compelling and it all went downhill. There's illusion of growth and development when in reality it's random nonsense between decently animated but at the same time very predictable and boring fights. Antagonists are just garbage. Story is garbage. Directing is garbage. Fan service is garbage. There's so much trash in this show racoons would look at it as heaven. Never have I been happy that there wasn't a sequel. There's no point answering "spoiler warning" for this anime as there's nothing to spoil. It starts with OP MC-kun in a school with tsundere reward for him and tournament is announced in very first episode. And that's the whole story... take a wild guess who wins at the end and how. Even that dreadful premise can be worked with had there…

Well, first of all, why i choose to watch this Anime, it was on the List of the TOP 20 Best FAN SERVICE Anime. And truly, it deserves its place on the List, already with the 1st Episode it shows proof. Now after watching it, now... I was mixed weather to give it a 8 or 9. The reasons for an 8 would have been, that it left me wanting more Fan Service, i am not saying there was to little of it. But in Anime with just 12 Episodes, I've seen more and quite frankly, better Fan Service than here. Not complaining, thou... But i understood, that this Anime tries to avoid being treated as one of those many Fan Service Anime, who end up for many fans in the Trash List, or in the Pile of Shame. And this Anime isn't any of that. I do recommend it. That is why the Strong 9 The Amount of Fan Service wa…

Plot: 7 - The story isn't that unique - Pacing issues, things just kept happening way too fast, should've worked much better with 15 - 18 ep - Character development for some characters was excellent, but for others mostly meh. - Dialogue was nothing unique or memorable, asides from maybe one speech near the end. Animation: 8.25 - Fights were elite and enjoyable. - General animation was also pretty great. Voice acting: 9 - Really good, emotions were expressed near perfectly. Music: 7 - OP was meh, not my type personally - ED was nice, should've been the OP instead - General music and OST are very nice, fit the scenes quite well. Execution: 7.5 - As I mentioned above, 15 - 18 ep would have probably pushed the overall rating up by 5% - Given the source material is from a light novel, its e…

If you can get through the very first scene (walking-in-a-room-on-a-half-naked-female cliché), you may actually find some value in this show. It gets pretty decent romance development between said female and the guy who walked on her. Though some events/dialogues may feel a bit over-dramatized and too far-fetched, the chemistry between Stella and Ikki works well. The affection both main characters have for each other is nicely presented; especially Stella, since she was very cold at start. She warms up to Ikki very much and becomes caring of him. They experience very memorable romantic moments throughout the show. Unfortunately, this is where the positive features end. The rest of the characters are just fine. Not great, not terrible. They don't get much attention or development. The use…
