Kaze no Stigma

Kaze no Stigma

Introduction

Kazuma Yagami is a user of "Fuujutsu," the ability to control the wind. He returns to his old home, the noble Kannagi household, after being banished four years ago for his inability to control fire and his subsequent defeat in a duel at the hands of his younger cousin, Ayano Kannagi. Returning after such a brutal exile already gives rise to many conflicts, but to make matters worse, several Kannagi family members have recently been murdered with Fuujutsu. This leads the Kannagi family, including the hot-headed Ayano, to suspect Kazuma as the culprit. Now, Kazuma must not only clear his name, but also aid the family he shares a mutual hatred with, in order to discover the true identity of the killer. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

OP edgelord MC done right. Kaze no Stigma is what teenage wet dreams were made from in the late 2000s. Kawaii tsundere gf, overpowered too-cool-for-school MC, magic, monsters, and plenty of justice porn involving one's childhood bullies (including family and friends), objectively speaking there is nothing remotely ground breaking or crtically aclaimed about this anime. Yet it does what it was created to do well -- that is, to be a teenage self-insert in a world of magic and monsters. Plot 7/10 The plot is sectioned into 4-5 episode subplots that pretty much continues from start to end of its 24 episode length. Credits for being consistent and not veering too far off course from its main story. Characters 7.5/10 The pain of disappointing one's parents is something that resonates deeply…

Plot: 6 - Incredibly underwhelming story, given the synopsis you'd expect there to be a central idea embedded into 24 episodes. However, there is no central plot, rather its a collection of sub plots every 3- 4 episodes. - Character development is near minimal, plot development makes no sense most of the time and not once is there an expression of any form of empathy. - Side characters ended up being more interesting than the MC, who btw was just an arrogant and overpowered brat with no sense of emotion. Animation: 6.5 - Given its 2007, its slightly on the weaker side but holds up well most of the time, the fight animations are very simple and leave no room for layering. - General animation is alright. Voice acting: 6 - Most of the time, the characters did not have fitting voices, the…

Good Series, every episode you can enjoy it, starting few episodes you will really like it and later it becomes mid but you will really like it has good comedy and romance feelings are shown bits by bits in every episode. The Mc duo is really good. Has a Good art style and animation. Every main character is developed, and side characters are also given their time to shine. You can enjoy this show. What I liked about this show was The main Character's interaction. I really liked this series sad that it is not getting season 2 I give this series 6/10.

I remember watching Kaze no Stigma back when I was a younger version of myself and I thought it was really good, though considering it as a classic now. Years later, I decided to rewatch it again because it was a childhood classic for me. Unfortunately, it got me really disappointed and there were so many things that got me pissed off in the show. Story: (3/10) From the first episode, the plot and narration started really tight and balanced. The premise sounded really cool. I liked the first few eps, practically how a shounen does right. Nevertheless, it started became really cheesy, in a sense of your normal shoujo trope, in the 2nd half and 75% fillers as they really don't contribute to the main story. To be honest, the comedy and the drama was eh. I wasn't a huge fan of it despite th…

風の聖痕 is a typical shounen that mixes action-packed magical battles with the basic elements of fire, earth, wind against demons with an element of drama that is easy for the audience to grasp, and lightens the whole thing up with some romance and comedy. Story: Unfortunately, uncreative and written like a template (4/10) Kazuma Kannagi was disowned by his family, who are fire mages, for not being able to use fire magic "enjutsu". About four years later, he returns to his homeland under the name Kazuma Yagami and, of course, immediately gets into trouble. The extent of his problems ranges from a simple family feud to fighting with other clans. The reason for this is that the protagonist is suspected on the basis of circumstantial evidence to have murdered some clan members. Although he is…

This first section gives my thoughts without spoiling anything. I watched this with no expectations and still left disappointed. Everything was good until episode 13, which started the path towards rock bottom. Episodes 13-21 were still fine, but they lead the story into one of the worst I've seen in anime. Episodes 22-24 sucked. They pretend that character development exists when there was no effort to make any for over 20 episodes, and they try making this the focal point of the story. The art is fine, it's nothing special but is above average for the most part. The sound design isn't anything to remember but also not bad. From this point on, I will not avoid spoilers. The relationship between Kazuma and Ayano is dreadful. These two are cousins, so a relationship between them alrea…

I came across Kaze no Stigma a long time time ago but for some reason never finished it and hardly remember anything besides the first episode, now I know why... The animation and fights were really sloppy and boring compared to other anime that aired around the same time for example Darker than Black, Code Geass, Baccano. There were very few characters that werent annoying as hell and there wasnt much of a character development. In all the episodes there wasnt even one where the main heroine wasnt complaining. Usually deaths hold a special meaning in anime and encourage character development of the main characters thats not really the chase here for most of the time. Mostly the characters dont seem to care after a few seconds. The only thing I didnt have a problem with were the music…

I just finished watching what was perhaps one of my most anticipated shonen battle series during my childhood. My expectations were raised pretty high for this show; I was expecting something equivalent to A Certain Magical Index or Kenichi - both of which are decent shows with their own set of flaws but pretty enjoyable. I was rather met with an extreme amount of disappointment. Never in my entire lifetime did I ever think that Kaze no Stigma would be a source of it. NOTE : This review isn't dictating other's take on the show but my own, so feel free to point out any flaws in my review if you wish to. Criticism is always welcome and appreciated on my profile. Introduction: I can't tell you how painful it was to watch this series. This is perhaps a minor e.g. of why I avoid watching sho…

"If you do high kicks while wearing a skirt your opponent may get the wrong idea" ---Kazuma Man another anime that starts well but finishes really badly. So badly I swear the ending had bile coming up in my throat. Kaze really does start strong. It's a modern world with magic, evil spirits and magic users, pure fantasy candy if you are into the genre. The main character is given the mother of all motivations and had bonus points piled on top of it. He's been exiled from his family in disgrace because he can't do fire magic. It's gangbusters from the start. Unfortunately that first episode is the absolute best episode and goes rapidly down hill from there. The "romantic" interest is set up to be the girl that caused him to be disowned. He has a rapprochement with the "family" that used t…

Kaze No Stigma is a show with a lot of problems, but first things first soundtrack: it’s absolute trash and it is used inappropriately, for example there is a scene MC is faced with a villain and the villain is ‘slowly’ coming from sky and Battle soundtrack is playing! it is so bad because no fight is happening and it’s just trash talk but we have a fight soundtrack! honestly this show would have been a lot better if there wouldn’t be any soundtrack Characters: usually the Main Male Character in Anime is trash and undeveloped but Kazume is actually a decent character he isn’t a trash character but the problem is people around him are, let’s take a look at his brother i mean come on his brother is a total loser kid with girlish look on his face who is so innocent that is pathetic, the mai…

This is a simple fun show. It fits the form of the genre. I actually really enjoyed the characters and how their relationship develops. It has cute moments and over all is just a fun show. Nothing so good to write home about, but I enjoyed watching it and the animation made me light sometimes. Also the side characters and friends were very enjoyable. I know this show came out years and years ago, but I would not mind a second season. Ayano: Is a bit nuts but I did come to enjoy her. Kazuma Yagam: He is a fun character, I like his sense of humor and not wanting to get pushed around.

Kaze no Stigma is the perfect example of what happens when a show plays it as safe as possible and follows the formula to the letter. It will be deemed boring and be forgotten very fast. Nothing in this anime compels you to keep watching as you have already watched everything in it already a hundred times in other shows, with far more exciting presentation and characters. The story is as typical as stories of this type can get. “Supernatural girl unwillingly teams up with supernatural boy and go to fight baddies while having a growing attraction for each other” is all you need to know about it. All that about families with special control over the elements is just a blunt backdrop story that hardly feels mystical or even thrilling looking to pay attention to for long. Can you believe the…

An anime about a sword wielding tsundere red haired girl teams up with the main protagonist who has tactical prowess and defeat demons?, is this Kaze no Stigma or Shakugan no Shana? Being an immense fan of Shakugan no Shana, LA was curious about anime similar to it and Kaze No Stigma being the rival to Shakugan no Shana at the time piqued LA's interest and much like Shakugan no Shana, Kaze no Stigma has some strengths and weaknesses to it. Well let's start off with the plot structure and well it goes the typical arcs concerning certain characters having a major villain at the end that will end the arc. Of course through this lots of character development and a bit of world building as well goes into it. So the plot's pacing through this typical arc structure at the start at least, in LA'…

Kaze No Stigma is a nice mixed candy bag of a show. The story has it's ups and downs, and some things just does not make any sense at times, but all in all it's a nice story with a mix of fantasy, action and comedy elements. The story mostly follows the Kannagi family, mainly Kazuma (the disowned son), his younger brother Ren, and their cousin Ayano (the heir), as they solve problems related to youma(demons/ghosts). It also has an underlying plot following Kazuma's past. The characters develop nicely, but some of their developments Sadly the story will never be finished as the author died of an illness. There is some hit and miss comedy here and there, and though I like it for the most part, it can be tedious and forced at times. The art is nice and clean, with ok special effects. The sou…

There are a lot of stories to be told with a similar pattern: a world of magic, monsters, and spellcasters exists just beneath the surface of what would be recognized as our modern Earth. These urban fantasy stories are usually pretty easy to make interesting, since they have both the high-flying adventure of fantasy, and the relatable nature of being set in something at least like the modern world. However, while there are a lot of advantages to telling this kind of story, you still need the basics of fantasy storytelling down, putting a decent amount of thought and effort into your supernatural elements while building likable, engaging, and dimensional characters. As with any other genre, some stories do this well and others do it poorly. Kaze no Stigma is, in my mind, a frustrating litt…

Well, from the synopsis the anime seemed a decent one. It's only natural to expect a great anime. But, to realize a good plot idea into a good anime requires many other things to be good. 1. Voice Acting ~ Recently, I have been paying a lot of attention to voice acting. I even picked this anime because it had Ouno Daisuke voicing the protagonist. . From the very start I noticed the voice acting was lacking in quality at times. Of course, Ouno-san did a perfect job. His voice acting complemented the many lackings in the script and scenario. Koyama Rikiya (Kannagi Genma), Fukuyama Jun (Serizawa) were supporting characters, but they lived up to their names. Fujimura Ayumi (Kannagi Ayano) did a great job. Ohara Sayaka (Tachibana Kirika) didn't disappoint, as well. . But, this is all to be ex…

This is a very bitter sweet situation to be honest. The reason being that this anime in my book was very good. The characters really draw you in, art is beautiful for its time, story is on point without fillers, and right when you get comfortable the mood changes. This one I personally believe had a bright future seeing as how I certainly wanted more. I watched this a number of years ago yet even still I occasionally return even for the brief 24 episodes. Now.... The sad truth is that NO it WILL NOT be continued. The creator sadly passed away and his last will was for this not to be touched. Lastly I'll say this is still a great body of work I'm sure you'll enjoy should you decide to give it a look.

It's an alright anime. Story: I think another 12 or 13 episodes should have been allowed for this series to make this a coherent story. But with 24 episodes, some story arcs were rushed or the ending was not satisfying enough. I was left somewhat frustrated or wanting more in some of the endings. Then there are the backstories, there is not enough of it. Lots of explanations that needed to be there to clear up any confusion. i.e. What Kazuma actually do in his exile period? (other than him acquiring some power). Art: The monsters and minions used in here look good. Though some scenes just looked very awkward. Sound: It's good. Character: The main protagonist, Kazuma, is competent and able to compose himself in what would be stressful situations. (well until someone connected to h…

So I wasn't expecting much from this anime, because i assumed it is one of many who are similar, but actualy I realy enjoyed the MC for his characterdevelopment throughout the story. But the tsundere girl protagonist is just an awfull onesided, and horribly anoying character that basicaly destroyed this anime completely. The art is fancy considering the time it came out, and the soundtracks are verry enjoyable. However, the story development over all is complete trash because of certain protagonists that kinda hinder the you from experiencing the MC going through a crisis, just because the studio tried to pack this into one single episode. I dont recommend this anime, except you're like completely into tsundere romances.
