Servant x Service

Servant x Service

Introduction

Frustrating, insufficient, and irritating is how most citizens would describe civil servants. However, three new employees are about to discover what really happens behind the scenes. Lucy Yamagami, bent on revenge against the civil servant who allowed her comically long name to be put on her birth certificate; Yutaka Hasebe, an easygoing guy always on the lookout for a place to slack off; and Saya Miyoshi, a nervous first-time worker, are about to experience the underwhelming satisfaction of being government employees. They are supposed to be trained by Taishi Ichimiya, but he has no idea how to do so, even though he has worked there for eight years. With an incompetent senior colleague and unfavorable confrontations with clients, the trio starts to lose faith in their chosen occupation but encourage each other to do their best. See, the thing about anime is that you can either be realistic and grounded, or completely bonkers and out of the blue. Anime can be a relatable experience you can self-insert into, or it can be an escape from reality, into a whole new world full of imagination. It is very difficult to balance both; sure, you can have an imaginative story with elements of relatability like Sousou no Frieren, but, for instance, you can’t set your story to be grounded and realistic only to add weird elements to be quirky, it just takes away from the experience. And that’s where I think Servant x Service failed. Look, I’m going to be honest, this show is just void of any feeling. Everything feels so.. manufactured? It genuinely feels like nothing new came from this show. The main character with big boobs whe…

What a strange, but in the end, funny, anime. This story follows a rather busty young woman with an absurdly long name, her rather one-dimensional coworkers, a section manager that's also a bunny somehow, two high school girls, a small obaachan who can't stop talking, and her uptight socially awkward banker grandson as they work in the ward office in a nondescript (non-existent) town in Hokkaido. Or, more accurately, as they have contrived social drama in a ward office in a nondescript town in Hokkaido, while somehow occasionally also managing to do work. Basically, it is almost literally a slightly rougher version of "My Tiny Senpai" - even right down to the self-aware ahoge. This is one of those anime that it's difficult to spoil, because there's nothing in particular to spoil. There's…

This anime is like a breath of fresh air - it's all about the everyday struggles of working in a government office, but with a dash of humor and heart. Let's talk about the main duo, Lucy and Hasebe - they're the real MVPs! Their banter and chemistry are undeniable, and I loved watching them navigate their jobs and personal lives. But what really surprised me was how much I adored the supporting cast! Megumi and Taishi's relationship is ridiculously sweet, and I found myself rooting for them hard. And then there's Saya, Lucy's best friend - she's just a bundle of energy and cuteness! The anime's not all sunshine and rainbows, though. It tackles some real issues like office politics, boredom, and finding purpose. But it does it in a way that's relatable and entertaining. If I'm being pic…

This anime is truly a masterpiece and heavily underrated! I love how it had both comedy and a storyline, I couldn’t help laughing and anticipating the next episode when I watched it. I also loved how all the characters were different and funny in their own way, especially when they kept accusing each other of being dumb but they were just as dumb as each other. And Hasabe’s attempts at flirting were definitely smooth towards Lucy. It had a wholesome romance involved and I enjoyed every minute of it. This kind of office comedy/romance might not be for everyone, but those who enjoy a good laugh with a good storyline would definitely enjoy this anime. Absolutely loved Servant x Service!

I watched this when i was high school, thinking that this anime is just one sarcastic expression of the author that hate how goverment being run. I, myself still believe that goverment is somehow run by competent peoples. HOW WRONG I WAS. 2024, as an goverment employee myself, witnessed that this anime is 100% realistic. Higher ups that is just brainless doll, peoples come everyday to rant non related topics, romantic scene inside archive room, geniuses pretended as fools, THERE IS SOME PUBLIC SERVANT THAT DO COSPLAY. Also, hilarious names beiing approved / registered is a real thing. Damn it, how could my life become a live action comedy. ps: if you need a real review just read others review or youtube, its 10+ years already

Servant x Service is a delightful and charming anime series that is often overlooked by viewers. The story follows a group of public servants who work in a government office, dealing with a variety of odd and humorous situations while also exploring themes of personal growth and romance. One of the standout aspects of Servant x Service is its unique characters. Each of the main characters has their own quirks and personality traits that make them stand out, from the serious and organized Lucy to the overly-friendly and bubbly Saya. Their interactions with each other are often comedic and heartwarming, and viewers are sure to find themselves invested in their individual journeys as well as their group dynamic. The series is also notable for its witty and clever writing. The humor is often…

The anime is a stories of life, comic, with a romance. Personally, I would have liked it to be much more focused on romance. But anyway, the anime works well, it's very interesting. The animation is acceptable, the soundtrack too, the opening is great. The development of the characters is good although in the main character, I don't understand very well how she thinks. What bothers me the most is that the protagonist from minute 0 tells the protagonist what he feels and she rejects him over and over again. In short, the anime continues with that relationship and well from that we see many funny things. But I don't feel that in real life it doesn't work that easy. I'm going to get a little bitter because trying to impose your feelings on another person who doesn't love you in the same way,…

Servant x Service is not that good, but it certainly is not bad either. It is a good breather after a heavy plot-filled series. It is truly a slice-of-life anime, with a story that does not seem to have any direction. But the interaction of the cast is enjoyable enough to sit through 12 episodes. I do not have much say in it, the comedy is enjoyable normal. In terms of art, there is only one thing I found really annoying for the whole series--Tohko's permanent angry mark. It was not funny and necessary at all if they were trying to portray her as Tsundere, we all got that, no need to put it there for all the time. Overall, it was not as memorable as slice-of-life series like Minami-ke, but it was okay.

What could possibly be more boring than working at a government office? Not many, but this anime has its way of making it slightly fun and entertaining. The story takes place at a ward office in the fictional city of Mitsuba, where 3 employees are newly enrolled. Together with a more senior employee and a temp employee as main characters, they do about their job in the building and sometimes hang out together. ----- Story There are a few different plot in this series, the romance between Lucy/Hasebe, Chihaya/Ichimiya, the working situation, and their after-office activities. Each episode contains 2 chapters, which shows different subplots. Through this separation, this anime is able to tell the stories and interaction between the main characters in their office, but also tell the stories…

Well, got kinda confused after this anime. I wholeheartedly enjoyed quite simple, yet very good story, but... There was something that annoyed me. Or, should I say, SOMEONE. Chihaya and this Tanaka-guy often were soooo damn irritating. Especially Tanaka about this whole "challenging" Hasebe. The way this blockhead sees things and goes for them is something I hate personally. So self-concerned and going with lines such as "The only thing I can do for Hasebe is to get girlfriend before him", man what the hell, just give up already. Do you even think what you're saying?! Even Toko wasn't that obnoxious. She didn't leave an unpleasant feeling like those 2. Though I can't say that I understand why people would let this kid order and lecture them all the time. Besides that, all 13 episodes went…

Story: so i mean this kinda has or maybe does have a story its basically that the 5 main characters of the anime work as civil servants at a business and i mean that's really it honestly well maybe that one of the main character's is there because she got a weird name as a kid that someone actually gave the go for the name so Lucy is pretty much working there so she can find out who gave the go for the name otherwise this is purely a comedy workplace anime. Art: the art is really good here bad about i actually kinda or actually really liked the Op and Ed art at the start and end of it they dud a good job with that. Sound: ok so the Op and the Ed are pretty good (but honestly nothing id download though) there good but i wouldn't say that good as of the Voices for the characters they were…

I picked up Servant x Service after watching and really enjoying Working!! which was by the same studio. I found Working!! to be charming and really entertaining as a slice of life show about a rather ordinary type of routine and I saw that they had made a show that was related to office work, and figured that I would really enjoy it quite a bit as well. I was disappointed that wasn't the case. Servant x Service is a slice of life comedy show with a little bit of absurdity similar to Working!! The biggest problem is that the characters in Servant x Service seem to miss the mark and fall flat quite a bit of the time compared to the far more interesting and entertaining cast from Working!! and frankly, other shows as well. There isn't much that this show has going for it that makes it sta…

From the creator of the wonderful Working!! series (a series I adore as well) comes yet another well done adult working life anime named Servant x Service. Much like it's other sibling, Servant x Service marks itself as an underrated (popularity sense) piece of art Story: 7/10 First off, you don't see many adult life stories in anime in general, so Servant x Service is one of a kind in many senses as well. Even from a romance fan's perspective, I felt it moved from Slice of Life to Romance a little to hastily in the second half of the anime, although the last two episodes were brilliant, I still felt that it should have been more Slice of Life focused, but then again this means that a proper plot can't be established. Nevertheless Servant x Service did well in it's tricky situation and c…

I could easily say for sure that this is really one of the best Slice-Of-Life out there. Most people might have clearly forgotten about the true means of "Slice-of-Life" or most basically about the elements of life. Anyway, I love the Opening and Ending, I also love the characters. The interaction between workers and clients are also really fun. The mini love story and development inside the Service center is also ideal. I'd give it 9/10 without a doubt. MAL tells me to write something longer tho.. Well, there are a lot of Slice-of-Life anime out there, but I could say that at least, this one really got me watching even though exams are currently on the way. I'd say that it was nicely developed with consideration of the characters in the story.

At a glance, this seems like your typical no-story slice of life comedy. While this is mostly true, this series boasts an exceptional trait that you won't see anywhere else in the genre : No high school. It can't be overstated how important this is. This alone makes the series very refreshing. But on top of that, it is generally very low on your typical tropes. You sometimes forget you're watching anime. Since the show is mostly plot-less, a good humor level is required to keep the viewer entertained. It usually delivers. The not-so-funny parts normally feel comfy and relaxing, rather than boring. Characters in SxS aren't too archetypal and are generally lovable. There is no fan services, but the girls are cute and consistently well-drawn, so no issues there. Normally i don't care…

I can only imagine there being so much hilariousness occurring in an office for public services. Yes, Yamagami’s breast size is definitely noticed, but it’s not the driving point of the series, to my relief. The characters made every work day exciting by just being themselves. I found myself having to hold back my laughter while I was watching in my room late at night. Who knew adults could have so much fun at work? Despite my skepticism at first, I liked how the anime started out. The viewer rides on the coattails of the three newbies who arrive for their first day working as civil servants. For people who haven’t been to the public office often, they can see the characters go about their work here. Civil servants direct others to windows where workers have information on registration fo…

To make it clear, Servant x Service series basically is slice-of-life genre, like other slice-of-life themes, its also contains comedy genre. It's quite hard to imagine how the story goes on Servant x Service ward office when what you have watched only around school life mixing with slice-of-life genres. There's no school as background in the series, sometimes the characters also going out to a restaurant, shopping district and even other characters places. The background itself isn't the boring place to begin with because it's so freaking funny. No doubt the series will cheer your day even if you're not in the good mood to start with. The characters are what makes the whole series so lively even if it takes place in the ward office. Find the innocent main heroine is arguing with her ha…

Woriking. A Romcom(Romantic Comedy) show which occoured in a certain ward office. if you have watched anime called "Working!!" then it makes it more easier for me to explain what kind of show it is. This anime is almost similiar to a certain anime called "Working!!!" The story was about three newcomers in the ward office; Hasabe, Yamagami and Miyoshi as the MC and that was when their life job started. The story was pretty much enjoyable and funny imo. There weren't really that much of a plot in the beginning. There were some introduction for new characters and digging up more into the character, to know better about the character. and later on around in the middle, there were some character development and it wasn't only occoured in one episode. The character development was already happe…

Good shows are less popular and low ranked on MAL-this is the case of servant x service. The background of SxS is a government office where our main protagonists work. This anime is one of the very very few anime where we can see normal life style of normal people like us. It has no supernatural, fantasy, action, meaning less fighting and the story is quite paced. Romance is the main theme of SxS and it is matured kind of romance, not high school type, where boy is running after girl or vice versa. The episodes have gotten better and better as the series progressed. Lucy Yamagami, Yutaka Hasebe and Saya Miyoshi are appointed at the welfare department of the city where Taishi Ichimiya, Megumi Chihaya also work there and are their senior. Lucy is a shy, short heighted girl with huge breast,…

Well, I saw this anime for only one reason: Same author as Working!!, one of my top comedy animes, and let me say, I really liked it. I´ll go over some things that I really enjoyed about this anime, without spoilering too much, so here I go: 1) To begin with let´s talk about the opening. Visuals were great, the song was spot-on with the visuals and the spoilers where minimun, that is not found on every opening, for example OP 12 of Bleach, with good song and visuals, but with all the spoilers you can get under 1:30. This three points make a great OP what it is: great, like for example Noragami or Tokyo Ghoul, anime wich I have not seen yet but almost did because of the Opening. 2) The characters in general. At the begining, after reading the summary, I was thinking the characters would…
