Lunar Legend Tsukihime

Lunar Legend Tsukihime

Introduction

Shiki Toono wakes up in a hospital ward with the ability to see invisible lines. These thin threads, which make up all matter in Shingetsutan, instantly destroy an object when severed. Shiki discovers that if he traces the lines of something, its destruction soon follows. While keeping his supernatural vision a secret, Shiki proceeds to live his sophomore life in peace. However, this peace is short-lived when Shiki encounters a mysterious woman with bright red eyes on his way back from school. Following a sudden psychotic lapse, he appears to kill the woman, and passes out shortly after. As if things couldn't get any worse, Shiki is assailed by a pair of demonic hounds the next day—facing certain death, Shiki is saved by the timely arrival of the same woman from yesterday. She introduces herself as Arcueid Brunestud, a vampire princess. Deciding to team up, Shiki and Arcueid embark on a journey to uncover the truth behind their lineage and the recent string of murders around town. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

It's simply awful and easily the worse of the two Tsukihime adaptations. Tsukihime was originally a visual novel with five routes and nine actual endings (with quite a few dead ends and bad ends), and while both adaptations try to incorporate elements from multiple routes while primarily following one, the anime attempts to do everything in twelve episodes!! The manga gives itself a whole 73 chapters for this, so it comes out quite a bit better paced. On the other hand, the anime's pacing is poor. The hook and inciting incident is delivered in a way that's both ridiculous in context and also completely melodramatic, completely barring you from really taking Tsukihime seriously from the very beginning. What is meant to be a horrifying moment is instead kind of comedic, it's bizarre. Stran…

Simply put, Tsukihime is a fascinating story. It gets a bit edgy at times, but it's genuinely fantastic nonetheless. However the anime does not do it justice. At all. Terrible pacing, spotty at best animation quality, and very significant chunks of the plot just being omitted entirely. Do yourself a favor, if the concept of the show looks interesting to you. Go read the visual novel. I haven't played the 2021 remake, so I cannot vouch for that one, but the original is a masterpiece. Going to keep it as short as MAL will allow, I don't feel the need to write a novel but I do want to get this message across.

This anime is quite good for old (2003) anime. If you like old-fashioned drama, romance, mystery, vampire, harem, and a little bit of gore & action then this anime is for you. [VISUAL] From modern perspective it suffers from the old drawing anime, quite blurry and less detail. The fighting/battle animation is not that good and too quick. Maybe because battle/action isn't its main focus. [STORY] The story is very good, it is its main selling point. There are murder and mysteries that will compel you to find the truth by continue watching to the end. [MUSIC] Not so much, the cousin of this anime (The Garden of Sinners) and especially the most famous Fate series are much better in term of music.

This anime is a bit hard to review/judge for me. I watched it alongside playing the remake game. I loved the game the story is incredible. Why its a bit hard to judge this one, based on the original which i did not play, why its also hard to judge the adaptation. Obviously the story does feel a bit lacking compared to the game. The fights themselves are quite lame. Animation doesnt feel very type moon compared to other stuff and. But still even then i found it an ok watch. Id recommend it if you know what you get yourself into being s 12 ep adaptation of a 20-30 hour game. One standout thing is the music which is very beautiful. Good VA. The story is overall good but obviously a bit rushed/lacking.

Overview: "Lunar Legend Tsukihime" is notable for being the first anime adaptation of one of Kinoko Nasu's stories, being first released way back in 2003. In sharp contrast to ufotable's highly regarded adaptations of "Kara no Kyoukai" and the "Fate" series, however, this particular adaptation has a very negative reputation among fans of the novel it's based off, to the point that a good number of fans would rather pretend it never even existed. While I personally think that's a bit of an overreaction, if only because I haven't read the novel myself, it is nevertheless easily the worst Nasuverse anime I have seen. Story (6/10): "Tsukihime" tells the story of Shiki Tohno, a 17-year-old member of the prestigious Tohno family, who has been living with his distant relatives for the past eight…

The story is undeniably captivating, and those who have watched Kara no Kyoukai are likely to be well-acquainted with the concept of the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. For the uninitiated, it is the ability to see the lines and points of death on both animate and inanimate objects. When cut or pierced, a part of the object or person's existence dies or is extinguished entirely. The protagonist Shiki's ability to destroy everything around him in a blinding moment is terrifying to witness, given his mild and docile demeanor. We are left bewildered when he comes to his senses after dismembering Arcueid into seventeen pieces, leaving us yearning for more insight into the hows and whys of the situation. While the story's pacing may seem slow at first, with more emphasis on Shiki and Arcueid'…

It's been a year or so since I tried watching it the first time (can't remember exactly). I forgot where I stopped the last time, so I rewatched it from the start and finishing it whole thing in one sitting. My impression of this adaptation didn't change that much, so everything I may have said somewhere else still stands. This is still not the worst Type-Moon anime that there is, as expected. Having this anime be one of the 2 only Type-Moon shows I haven't fully seen until this far had my head full with many parallels to compare it to other Type-Moon adaptations. I have finished the first half of Tsukihime Remake in 2021 and been stalling on finishing this anime until now. I have read the Tsukihime manga not too long after finishing the OG Tsukihime timeline before going into the Remake…

Before we begin, I want to say I came in with high hopes for this anime, but I also had high hopes for Promised Neverland season 2. 1/10 Plot: Anime adaptation is a**. It ruins just about every good aspect of the story, including the ending. The traits of each character are far too overexaggerated and over the top to the point of being comical (keep in mind this anime still tries to take itself seriously). Watching this felt like watching Ghost Stories in SUB. As for plot, the anime roughly follows the plot of the "main" VN route, but most of the twists and turns just feel 'cheap.' 7/10 Art is fine, though very early 2000s: everything is way too dark, washed out, or has an excessive amount of lens flare plastered over it, but the actual characters and backgrounds are certainly well done.…

This is my first review on my anime list and I want to say something about this anime. Everyone say this anime is bad and that is not true. I watched every anime of Type Moon they made and I love how Type Moon make a great job. When I started to watch Tsukihime, this anime is about a character is selected by the protagonist. In the game you can select what character you want of rute, right? Because that is how Visual Novel Eroge works then that is how this anime is. For me is a great story because they explain a lot things in this universe and you need to pay attention every thing they say. If you don't pay attention, you will be lost. It is not a bad anime in all, it is really great. I played the videogame of Tsukihime on my PC and don't worry is compatible with the PC of bad components.…

This anime could have been 4 episodes and it could give the same story, and the same character development. All they had to do is remove some episodes (because believe me, there are some episodes that do not contribute to the story at all) and remove the staring scenes from the rest. The story starts interesting, not much information is given to the audience and you want to see what happens next but each episode has at least 10 minutes of unimportant talk, characters staring at each other, or a scenery image that it almost feels like they tried to make a 12 episode anime with so little material. Now, I haven't played the visual novel or red the mange so I cannot say whether there was enough material and the studio screw up or there wasn't enough material anyway, but what I can say is that…

The anime is wonderful, it was characterized by a special character and a different atmosphere, and for some reason I do not know, I felt back in time and lived a special atmosphere, the drawing is good and the characters were written very carefully, and I will not forget the sounds and music of course, but what bothered me the most was the slow pace of events, I suffered while watching I was so bored that I didn’t know the cause either. Was it from the work itself or was I in a hurry?! It deserves a rating between 7.5 to 8.5

I am glad that I found this anime. This is the type of anime I've been looking for for so long. The music is so wonderful and touching, especially the opening, that it's enough reason for me to rate this anime as a great one. Unfortunately, the story itself is not as dark as the music, but the end of the story is excellent, sad, but in this case it is better than a happy ending. As for the characters, Arcueid is great, the others are somewhat boring, but that's okay too. It's also easy to watch, I was so excited I finished it in just one night.

This is made by the creators of FATE stay night/Fate zero. You can see this is where the people behind the fate universe started so their earlier works like this anime are a bit rough around the edges. But you can see despite the animes flaws the story has potential. So speaking from 2021, this anime will be an acquired taste and really only for hardcore fans of fate series creators. The anime is pretty slow paced and the story is a bit bare bones but the main characters Shiki and Arcueid carry it once the show picks up later. You can tell the anime had serious budget constraints and that's part of the reason for the over all low budget feel of the anime but the production team did what they could with what they had. It would be amazing to see what ufotable could do with the story of th…

in a huge type-moon fan. With all the Fate series and the garden of sinner I found my self enthralled with the tape moon works. I found people talking about Tsukihime. They would say “So sad that Tsukihime doesn’t have an anime.” So imagine my surprise when I found out it did and it came out in 2003. People are so unsatisfied with this adaptation that they just pretend it didn’t exist which I don’t think it’s fair. Now I’ve never read the visual novel and I’m sure it’s better but I don’t think you can just discount a piece of media. Hell this thing was released four days after I was born and is practically as old as I am so Innoway I have a special connection with the show. Let’s get the negative out of Waze it was old animation was choppy didn’t look super well and overall I don’t think h…

"There is no "Tsukihime" anime". Yes, I'm pretty sure that many people who know at least a bit about "Tsukihime" or any "TYPE MOON" products in general have heard these words. But have you ever wondered, is this actually the case? So, after watching "Shingetsutan Tsukihime", I can say with utmost confidence that... Yeah, it's absolutely true. What I mean is that this anime is not a "Tsukihime" anime, it's rather an anime that has the name "Tsukihime". Generally speaking, it may be decent standalone anime, but it's still a terrible adaptation of the visual novel. First of all, the plot. It's messed up. Completely. It seems that Arcueid's route of the VN was used as a basis, since most of the events(especially in the beginning and the end of the show) remain unchanged from the original. H…

I've read the whole tsukihime visual novel and i don't have any idea what the hell is happening in this anime. Events are rushed and characters don't feel natural. Animation quality is truly bad, i know this is a anime from 2003 but.. god. It's painful to watch. It's just to cheap and lazy. If i'm not wrong, this was supposed to be the Arcueid route. But some things they added in doesn't even happen in her route, and that makes the pacing worse. There are just to many things TRYING to happen in one episode. Characters feel robotic and unnatural. Especially Shiki. Characters feel shallow, empty, annoying and underdeveloped. And all of this are because they thought chancing their personalites and character traits was a good idea.. for some reason. And those fight scenes.. god. They are…

I'm not comparing this show to anything except other anime that I've watched. I just dug this out of my library and watched it again. It wasn't as good as I originally thought. The artwork is dated, but that's not a sin for an older show. The main problem is that whoever wrote the show didn't seem to have a good idea about where they were going. It starts off with violence, then turns into some kind of romantic high-school love triangle, then goes back into "find the bad guy and kill him" thing, then just sort of trails off into nothing. There is so much character development and background story that was never done. The heroine has been alive for 800 years. Every once in a while she wakes up, kills the bad guy and then goes back to sleep. Now for the first time she's developed a relatio…

This anime only shows the Arcueid route from the visual novel. I thought the story was pretty enjoyable. Due to it having only 12 episodes the pacing was pretty quick. I thought the early setup for this anime was interesting. This story focuses more on character interactions between the main character, Shiki, and other characters in which he discovers his forgotten past. I enjoyed the art style for this anime in which it appears a bit retro. The animation quality is decent. Some of the parts could have been improved upon in terms of art. The sound for this anime was great. It served to set the mood for many scenes. I like the instrumentation for some of the background music. My favorite thing about Tsukihime was the characters. Each have interesting backstories, and I liked seeing th…
