This story is a disastrous trainwreck that completely erases the concept of narrative tension. Some fans try to defend this series by claiming it is a clever "satire" or a "parody" of the overpowered isekai genre. However, that defense falls completely flat when you realize the reality: the author simply lacks the ability to write a compelling, well-structured plot with proper stakes, choosing instead to rely on a lazy, literal cheat code to resolve every single conflict instantly. In fact, calling this show a parody is a massive insult to other genuinely brilliant parody and satire anime out there that actually know how to write comedy and subvert tropes properly.

Sokushi Cheat ga Saikyou sugite (My Instant Death Ability is So Overpowered) has to be a parody, because if the author actually tried to write a serious story, they completely failed. I feel like it wants to be something like the first season of One Punch Man, but without the story, characters, comedy, animation, or pretty much anything positive.
Story: 3.3
Is there even a story? On one hand, we have the protagonist who was teleported to another world and now wants to go back. That’s the whole plot. On the other hand, we have this parallel storyline that we are told is happening, but we never actually see: the classmates who were teleported have to train to become "Sages." We don't know how they train; we're just told that they supposedly do.
The world they were teleported to makes zero…

Was expecting something better than something like this.
The show is interesting but oddly grim with uncaring characters and some awful comedic lines that it's barely enjoyable.
The MC is way too powerful even with the rules.
This isn't your average adventure fantasy storyline where the author takes some care into their characters and I think that is alright.
If anything it's what made it interesting and enjoyable up to a point.
For the BGM it felt like it was always there and made it hard to understand some things, really wish they'd lower the volume or minimize the placement.
It all goes by so fast.

Sokushi Cheat ga Saikyou sugite, Isekai no Yatsura ga Marude Aite ni Naranai n desu ga might just be the most slept‑on anime of 2024. On paper, it’s another isekai with a generic setup, but in practice it’s one of the funniest anime I’ve watched this decade. if you want a concise synopsis, its about an overpowered protagonist bulldozes through an isekai world with his class mates. light, funny, and guaranteed to lift your mood without demanding heavy emotional investment. Thats as spoiler free as i can describe it.
The show thrives on absurdity. Its comedic timing is razor‑sharp, and the way it leans into “aura farming” feels almost elite. It knows exactly what it is: a guilty pleasure trash anime, but executed with such confidence that it becomes a masterpiece of silliness.

If you're looking for isekai slop where the MC is overpowered and doesn't really care about anyone, doesn't really have any morals, just a simple watch that doesn't ever really get complex, then this is probably the anime for you.
The story itself is about a high school boy that gets summoned to another world by a sage named Sion, along with the rest of his classmates from his school in a bus. That sage gives the students powers, not knowing that the main character already has his own power gifted (from, I don't know). He is already pre-equipped with his own power, where he just looks at someone and, if he wants them to die, then they die. There's no growth arc or struggle or tension.
There's no complexity in the story or anything. There's no hero's journey either. No struggle and no st…

It's an okay Isekai show, but certainly not up to the standards of several other shows of this genre out there. The plot is pretty all over the place. The pacing is off, and it feels like there ought to be a LOT more to the story than is actually shown, which gives the impression that this was a rushed project. Like they wanted to add it to the current Isekai flood rather than release it when most people have gotten tired of the genre.
The world-building is non-existent, character back stories remain massively unexplored, character development is haphazard at best as well. There were several opportunities to have great moments of foreshadowing, but these moments were squandered by revealing plot details at all the wrong times. The MC is your typical oblivious type, not really paying atten…

[JP, subtitles are far below standard and ruins the tsukkomi, does have honorifics sometimes]
Is is it well made? Not really.
It's a mediocre story with a mediocre setting with a mediocre procession of roughly connected events (so far as the anime shows). Even so it is good enough I saw it twice without being bored.
The staff knew better than to get too deeply invested into the plot so it's like a bunch of encounters strung together with shoe string. You know how it's going to end and it doesn't stop it from being fun.
I like the main characters and grew fond of them. They lack depth but together they became endearing. Even felt some of the development before it was spelled out, which for an isekai of this nature is pretty rare.
The haphazard flow and non-commitment to most of the antag…

When going into this anime, especially considering other animes of similar premise, I didn't expect what I ended up seeing.
This anime is a surprisingly alright watch.
Characters: I think the characters here aren't robotic enough to be enjoyable; this means, having behaviors resembling actual thinking persons, as supposed to reacting, and acting in typical anime fashion, e.g., character tastes food, after which there's a pause, and then they say "oishiiii". The male MC, in his "cardboardness" I found him interesting, yeah he is strong and also lacking much expression, but there's an actual plot explanation for that, which I considered funny and entertaining personally. While he doesn't react much, he does have smart dialogue, takes initiative in situations, has his own opinions on things…

TLDR - The title of the anime gives away a lot, expect a lot of instant death! With all the awkwardness that comes with it. Give it a shot.
I'll start off by saying that this anime isn't for everyone, and the start is very very rough with so much left up in the air early on. But as per the title 'instant death', it's very heavily seeped in one punch man with a morbid kind of humour. There's more interesting things going on with the characters surrounding the MC, but even he has some interesting quirks which give it a thrilling vibe. If you're thinking of watching something with a deep story this isn't it, however the story is very interesting and has probably the most random twists I've ever seen especially in the realm of the bland isekai.
The reason I rate so highly is in the context o…

If you can endure the dumpster fire that is the first 2–3 episodes, you're rewarded with a masterclass in mediocrity for the remainder of the show. The plot prides itself on being unpredictable, but when everything is unexpected, can we even talk about plot twists—or good writing, for that matter? It's not terrible, but it's aggressively average.
There are a few intriguing characters (mostly the ones who survive long enough to show it), but the main cast is as bland as the narrative itself. They mirror the tone of the show: forgettable and uninspired. There are occasional "not-so-bad" moments, but nothing that elevates it above the sea of generic titles in the genre. Even notorious entries like Redo of Healer manage to be more memorable—if only by being unapologetically outrageous.

Honestly, I though the premise was really good and I found a lot of the jokes to be very funny.
Though I did not really like much of the isekai aspect and main story for the most part, I did like the backstory and I did like some of the characters. I honestly think this would be amazing if it weren't isekai and instead followed him in their actual world.
This isn't a hate on isekai I just don't think it fits for the characters and world established.
I felt the story was too fast paced, and that them being in isekai actually made some of the characters worse than they really could have been.

* **Fun and Enjoyable Character Dynamics:** The interactions between characters are entertaining and genuinely enjoyable to watch. This greatly enhances the overall atmosphere of the series.
* **Action Scenes:** The action sequences are well-executed and immersive. In particular, the way the main character defeats enemies—sometimes with a humorous twist—adds a unique flavor to these scenes.

Just completed this series and...
Honestly. it made no sense. The story just jumped around, and nothing was explained well. It was like a child's fever dream. I kept watching hoping there would be some pay off, but there wasn't. It's just so badly written and paced. How much time has passed? Who's that character? Why does that character have that motivation? What's with the mechs? None if it is explained.
Yes, there were a few moments where I exhaled in amusement, but not enough to justify sitting through 12 episodes. Go back and watch Aho Girl or Asobi Asobase if you want to laugh.
Save yourself some time and skip this one.

A very great show about a guy who got an "instant death" skill (along with a couple of other skills, actually).
Design is really good (I loved the strokes, skin tone, blush/fear effects, etc.), humor is omnipresent (even among some villains), characters are interesting... It is "a bit" like Psychi K. (how OP yet casual the MC is), except it does not happen in our world and therefore revolves less around typical "realistic" issues, but rather gaming-like content (a main quest, with fighting, enemies, villains, etc.).
I am so sad that there is not a second season yet! I reaaaally enjoyed this show!
This is painful that MAL is demanding that we add more and more content to our reviews. What I wrote is clearly enough, I am not writing an article nor a book about the show. Just giving my cas…

It is recommended only for isekai lovers. Hahaha I think this might be the best anime that only scored 6 in MyAnimeList so I'm glad I gave it a chance. I never write a review but the show is good and wacky. The story are fast paced has many layers, many characters, and many points of view. i.e. summoned heroes, gods, dark gods, sages, aggressors, knights, demons, dragons, robots, adventurers.
What I am looking from isekai animes is instant reward and this show is just exactly that. So many characters and villains with decent background story and drawing design are killed so easily.
We need more isekai animes just like this, just fast and wacky.

This show is probably best enjoyed by people who have already watched a lot of other isekai and know the tropes.
The plot isn't particularly compelling, but the subtle parodies are. I found myself really appreciating that I didn't have to watch long, drawn-out fight scenes where I knew the protagonist would win at the end anyway. Seeing one uniquely-designed non-generic character after the next, that would easily be a main or primary support character design in any other show, appearing for a very short period of time then and getting killed instantly was drop-dead hilarious in a sly, clever way. One villain after the next giving their scary intro monologue and then just getting hit by the off switch, I really feel like this saved a lot of screen time for other things.
The negative on th…

Honestly i don't see any issue with the show at all, all the negative reviews are just basically saying how all isekai are.
Welp I hope for another season
As far as story goes it's a bit different from other isekai's, and it's definitely not the worst.
I could recommend this as something to watch if you want to pass time.
To be honest there wasn't a lot I didn't like in the show, although i really like the backstory
Honestly I didn't expect the show to be as good as it was being as well it's in the title

Quite an "unrevealed" title, although a certain basis for a much larger 6.65/10
In short - suffer at the beginning, get a little carried away in the middle and wish for more revelation in the end. However, the entire anime will be quite "unclear" regarding the relationships between the characters and the world. At certain moments it is bad, or strange - at others, it adds "reasons" for curiosity.
World(s)
7/10
The world "our" (modern) and "other" will never be revealed to the end. They will repeatedly make it clear that we only see the surface - albeit with certain patterns. This also applies to the "original" world, because it is not exactly like ours. But... We will not be lucky at all with getting explanations regarding the "details". At the same time, if we still put everything toget…

A standard Isekai but so much more it’s a parody of others whilst also remaining unique. Having an unlimited power of instant death is pretty cool. And being effectively the strongest person. Could get pretty boring but it wasn’t.
The show I had everything between fantasy isekai zombie apocalypse a trial and much more
This shows surprised me in a good way. I was expecting an average 12 episode series that was made and just getting through it. But no. It was better than that and I found myself looking forward to watching it.
Disappointing thing the last episode made it look like they were going back to the world that came from and then flips on it head and they don’t wave they have ended the show at a point where realistically we’re going to get a season 2 which is cool I wouldn’t mind…

The power dynamics are messed up. The invincible protagonist is not alien in itself, but here there is no build-up. The villains come and go, and there is no difference in power among them because they are simply eliminated without whatsoever reason, making us feel the protagonist achieved nothing.
Moreover, he is not endearing; apart from his skill, there is no attribute he has other than being lazy and nonchalant. The world is fine, but what's the point if it collapses head over heels without the viewer ever knowing what's happening? Only the objective is slightly clear, and other than that, it's just haywire. Though credit where it is due the show can be a little funny at times and the sheer effort and tropes is slightly enjoyable
