Her Blue Sky was a pretty good watch, but it didn’t hit me as strongly as I hoped. The animation is beautiful ,,,especially the sky scenes,,,and the music is genuinely nice. But the pacing felt strange. Some moments rushed by too quickly, while others dragged on, so the overall flow felt a bit off.
I liked the characters, but I never felt fully connected to them. The movie tries to be emotional, and there are a few good moments, but it just doesn’t go deep enough to leave a big impact. It’s enjoyable, just not something I’d want to rewatch.
good visuals, good music, but the story feels uneven and not very memorable.,AND .......?

Her Blue Sky is a reflective coming-of-age drama that blends music, romance, and a touch of supernatural nostalgia into a story about youth, regret, and the paths people choose in life. The story follows Aoi Aioi, a high school student living in a rural town with her older sister, Akane. Years earlier, their parents died in an accident, forcing Akane to abandon her own dreams in order to raise Aoi. Because of this sacrifice, Aoi carries complicated feelings, gratitude mixed with guilt while trying to find her own direction in life. Aoi dreams of becoming a musician and spends most of her time practicing bass guitar, hoping to eventually leave the small town behind. However, her perspective begins to shift when a strange and unexpected encounter occurs. A younger version of a man named Shin…

Kind of enjoyed this for about an hour, despite the supernatural aspect feeling half-baked for how reliant the emotional weight of the story is on it. Inherently likable but flawed characters with relatable struggles, steady but consistent pace, no forced melodrama, no overbearing music to dictate the viewer's emotions? Is this still even anime? Characters occasionally still have a tendency to just announce their thoughts so bluntly but whatever, I'll take what I can get.
Then the third act starts and completely kills the momentum, much to my genuine chagrin. Its the sad part of the film so we have to play loud sentimental orchestra music and running through the rain. Completely unearned, out of nowhere and it just keeps going off the rails after that. It really feels like they didn't kno…

(Spanish review below).
It was okay.
It's one of those animes with nice animations to spend time on a Sunday afternoon. However, that's about it. Even the musical aspect, which seemed like it was going to have weight in the plot, sometimes loses it in the middle of the drama.
If we talk about the characters, I only liked the young version of Shinnosuke. His adult version seemed like a jerk to me, Aoi was too dramatic and hysterical, and his sister, Akane, was too passive. I always expected her to explode at some point, but all she had were soft and evasive answers.
As I said, the anime is nice and entertaining (at least). In a couple of scenes, they use real photographic backgrounds and draw the characters on top, and the truth is that it doesn't look good at all. The photography doesn…

So close, yet so so far.
This movie starts off surprisingly well, one of the few anime that distances itself from the anime tropes and makes characters well defined and closer to realistic. Everything from characters to aesthetic was so sweetly spot on, and though the plot is nothing to write home about, it is a very comfortable ride thanks to how non-anime it seemed and how chill it is: a true proper slice-of-life experience with a supernatural twist, and some nice, romantic drama.
Alas, what was supposed to be a nice, comfortable movie about growth, maturity and following your dreams, was that for about two thirds of the movie before it turned into some quite unnecessary, forced drama about rescuing a "damsel in distress", and turned to rather strange and inexplicable supernatural occ…

From the trailer, Her Blue Sky looked decent enough. A well-produced and animated coming of age story with aspiring musicians that was helmed by key members behind Anohana, a solid, rather melodramatic, tearjerker. Instead of rising to the level of the aforementioned series, Her Blue Sky instead imitates the mediocrity of the team's other work, Anthem of the Heart.
One thing all three productions have in common is a fantasy element. While I didn't have an issue with this in the other two titles, it felt unneeded here, exploring feelings of the past that would have been better relegated to subtext. In fact, Japanese films and anime have a rather tiresome penchant for injecting rote fantasy elements into an otherwise ordinary story as of late. It often amounts to adding boatloads of spice t…

Within 10 mins of the movie, I realised that this was going to be a special one. The plot of the movie was so different and refreshing that I had very high hopes and expectations from the movie. But it did disappoint me to some extent when it did not reach its potential. The foundation that the movie laid in the first 15 mins made me look into so many beautiful scenarios in the movie but the writer decided to go with an average one.
Yes it is not a bad movie at all. But when you begin this strong in a movie you tend to increase the expectations of the audience and those expectations did not meet for me.
The movie does give a very beautiful message to never regret about anything in life and to not shut in your feelings. I really loved the message that the movie displayed for the audience.…

Mari Okada finally realised that she should stop directing films as underwhelming as Maquia, so she went back to writing under Tatsuyuki Nagai to again to bring an emotional anime film. If these names don’t sound familiar then perhaps some of their past work together should ring a few bells, with series like Toradora and Anohana, as well as one of the most criminally overlooked films of the past decade The Anthem of the Heart. Anybody who has seen these works should easily be able to tell, without even watching that there’s going to be a lot of melodrama and while it can occasionally go too far (beer poured on head), for the most part Her Blue Sky handles the potentially cringe-inducing tone very well. The main character, Aoi, and her much older sister, Akane, are casually mentioned to be…

I'm not usually a fan of anime movies because they're usually short with undeveloped characters and an undeveloped plot, but some manage to impress me. I'm not sure whether it's because of where I'm at currently in life, but this one impressed me.
There's a lot to unpack here, and I don't even fully understand everything. But what I did understand, I either related to personally, or just adored how it was told.
Firstly, this movie is about a lot of things. Dreams, change, love, regret, growing up. We see Akane and Shinno's relationship at first, and while undeveloped, I felt the love. Akane's character felt like a slow unravelling, calm, unphased older sister who had to take on the responsibility of herself and Aoi at a young age. Only to reveal, unsurprisingly, that she wasn't perfect…

I had this for like two years on hold and had forgotten about it until i saw it just today on my notes. And i gotta say. DAMN why did i find it?
Spoilers ahead possibly but i don't care. You gotta know the reality of this poor work.
Overall, the movie was ok at best. But the worst is the plot. The cliche. The "a boy leaves and returns and the girl still loves him even tho he left her destroyed or on her own bc the boy thought he was gonna be a big deal but became lame af" kind of thing. Yes, it is that bad.
My honest opinion. Don't waste your time. I truly wish to get those two hours back so i don't watch this.

This is the first movie that I've watched that actually gave a slice of life vibes since the story is very close to reality if we will ignore the supernatural part. The movie wants reminds the viewers that as an individual we should be careful on our life decisions, because in reality, having a second chance is very unusual. Furthermore, having someone to think of you even after a long time of not seeing each other is rare, very rare nowadays.
To sum it up, this movie is a good eye opener especially for young adults out there to be careful on their life decisions, because no one can know what will happen.

The art is classic anime style, good looking. The sound is of good quality as well. THE PLOT IS SO TERRIBLE, LMAO. This is my personal opinion, but I couldn't relate to anything in the plot and it was too obvious, too straightforward, yet to bizarre to be real.
Although I like the individual characters, I don't like the relationships between them [any of them, so that shouldn't be a spoiler].
I got a good laugh out of the silliness of it all, but it's not something that tugged at my heart like other anime movies have done.
Wouldn't recommend it, but why would you listen to a stranger on the internet. I just came here to vent a bit, lmao.
It's so bad. It's so silly. Wow.

If you're looking to watch a movie with a neat ending and characters that act like they do in the movies, then Her Blue Sky will probably disappoint you. Yet, for me, a lot of the things that many people may not enjoy about this movie were things I really appreciated.
I'll start with the technical aspects of the film first, though. The art was amazing. While there are certain scenes where CGI was obviously used, it wasn't so distracting or jarring that it looked "bad" to me. The backgrounds in particular were really lovely, high quality, and while looking somewhat computer generated, WORKED in my opinion and gave them an almost photographic, realistic feel. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I personally thought they were very nice. Something else I noticed about this movie was that animators…

i was expecting there's many original songs in this anime, but it turns just a few. i interested to this movie because it has some music and band element in it, but it turns the band is just a gimmick haha.
the story was good, but it was confusing at the first time. the art is beautiful, it has some anohana atmosphere in it (yeah i know the setting is in the same places). the sound is so good, plus i watch this in the cinema so it sounds great with dolby surround. by the way, when aoi's playing the bass i cringed a lot lol, it sounds so awful. the character is not bad, but it was confusing at the first half.
i liked this movie, but i think i won't watch this movie for the second time. i think it would be boring when i rewatch this

*SPOILER FREE REVIEW*
Overall: 6/10
This is an Anime movie that pushes the boundaries of successful formulas and doesn't execute it well, this has a lot of wasted potential because of it's mediocre plot and relatable but unbelievable characters.
Story: 6/10
It's not time travel, instead there's a living spirit of Shinnosuke from a previous time line that exists in the current one. The themes and ideas for me weren't very clear and apparent, there are a lot of parts that lack explanation and felt rushed. Given that they had 1 hour and 30 minutes to work with, they had more than enough time but still somehow managed to flop.
Art: 8/10
It's just beautiful, don't expect anything like Your Name. or Weathering With you levels of art.
Sound: 8/10
Fantastic OST.
Characters: 6/10
A lot of…

So where should I start my review from so I will starting from the story the story of movie is not that fantastic or something mind blowing but it is pretty nice but when compared to its other rivals like your name silent voice a girl who leapt through time and I want to eat your pancreas and weathering with you it does pretty fine...

what would you say if you could meet your past self? would u be proud, disappointed, shocked, surprised?
a boy who's a walking reminder of the dreams his future self once had. how do u move on/move forward from ur choices/regrets? what if you fall in love for someone in the past? or is still in love w/ the same person who's become so different today? what if you've lost sight of what you dreamed and desired of a long time ago? how does something you feel so strong for, and promised, be something so insignificant now?
everyone has that thing. we all break our own promises. we lose our passion for something. we lose sight of what once mattered.
well-written. great characters. an angst-filled teenager who doesn't want to be a burden to her sister. a self-sacrificing sister, who had to matu…

It's actually a very good film, I really enjoyed the story. But there is still much that can be criticized. There may be a few spoilers in this review, but I try my best not to leak the story line.
The visuals are very good, it cannot be denied, the visuals provided can spoil the eyes, both in character and depiction of locations, I also like the way the seiyu play their roles in the film. The part that I like the most about this film is the song. yes, I immediately put this song into my playlist.
Then what are the drawbacks?
- In my opinion, the initial introductions for each character are less mature, especially Shinnosuke. I hope that the introduction to the past of an important character can be described a little more broadly, so that when you enter the story you can immediately unde…

Her Blue Sky mainly focuses on teenage Aoi Aioi finding herself disillusioned with her life as her older sister, Akane, was forced to raise her on their own years earlier due to the loss of their parents in a car accident and assumes she led to Akane's separation from her former boyfriend and aspiring musician, Shinnosuke Kanamaro. Wanting to be a musician like Shinnosuke, Aoi has become a skilled bass guitarist and is shocked to see a past manifestation of him appear bound to an abandoned building at the same time an older Shinnosuke returns as a supporting guitarist for an enka band.
Her Blue Sky offers solid and grounded exploration of the developments facing Aoi, Akane, and both the younger and older incarnations of Shinnosuke seen throughout the film. Each of the four have their chal…

I loved this movie. I’m somewhat lukewarm on Mari Okada usually, but her and Tatsuyuki Nagai really work together beautifully here, showcasing all her positive aspects really well. As with Anohana, Okada excels at crafting beautifully written characters with authentic and genuine emotional insecurities. Her dialogue is excellent, being both naturalistic and hilarious. She has such a knack for writing teenagers who actually talk and think like a human being. So much of Aoi’s internal monologue resonates so much me personally, especially her penchant for knowing that she shouldn’t say what she’s thinking, but overcomes with enough teenage anguish to power through that reasonable voice in the back of her brain. Her rage at herself for seemingly dragging her sister down is eerily similar to on…
