starts off strong, completely falls apart in the last twenty minutes. utterly bizarre decisions made that make no sense within the fiction of just the film, or in the wider steins;gate canon. there's a hint of interesting theming around the trauma of okabe's experiences from the main game/anime but it never really goes anywhere. i think in terms of events, the parallels do work and don't feel like a rehash of old material, but i can definitely see some people coming out of it feeling that way. if you want more kurisu and okabe, this will do it for you. just ignore the last fifteen minutes and that really *really* uncomfy kiss.

The movie is an anime original and it shows. It ignores everything that has been built up. Everything feels arbitrary. Each plot twist feels as though it was made up by the writer on the spot. Nothing follows from previous explanations.
The original Steins;Gate wasn't entirely free of plot holes (e.g. a phone doesn't have the ability to deliver electromagnetic energy specifically to tiny parts of the brain; if phones had the capabilities depicted in the anime, prank calls could be utilized for mass terrorism; data compression has nothing to do with physical compression; etc) but at least it was 90% logically consistent. Meanwhile the movie has 0% consistency; every plot device is pulled out of thin air and discarded immediately after.
The most insidious part of the movie is that it erod…

Such a great continuation of the story.
To be honest, Steins Gate as a series alone is more than enough satisfaction. You could just stop watching there and be fine without this movie, but I'm glad they made this movie.
The movie continues after the OVA. Kurisu visits the gang after returning from America, and everything is happy until Kyoma's time shenanigans from the past start to mess with him. I don't want to spoil too much, but let's just say it's ultimately up to Kurisu to help Kyoma get out of the mess he got himself into due to the events of the main series. It ultimately builds upon the relationship between Kurisu and Kyoma, bringing them to an even closer understanding of one another. Symptoms of watching this movie can include joy, heart break, psychological scarring, feelings…

Story - 4
The story is okay if you turn your brain off. I like that it serves to give us a deeper look into Kurisu and Okabe's relationship, but it really didn't make sense. Like, it literally does not make sense and it seems like online many people say to just pretend it is non canon because it brings up so many plot holes if it is canon.
So, I would recommend watching it to get more content from the loveable Steins;Gate characters, but just don't ask any why questions, because the answer will be "yeah... that part just doesn't really make sense, just forget it".
Art - 8
Same level as Steins;Gate. It is good, but nothing special.
Sound - 8
Same level as Steins;Gate. It is just okay. I think some spots could have used more dramatic of music.
Characters - 7
It was nice to see Mayuri ag…

It uses flash backs of VN alt endings which hits hard, shame it was only an hour and a half.
Those first 20 words were gonna be the entire review but MAL says I gotta write more so I'll talk about the VN. Getting those alt endings helps add oomph to moments in this. VN's just awesome, every steins; gate fan should go through it.
Not saying not to watch it if you haven't experienced the VN, just saying it makes it better for sure and should just be read through anyway as it definitely keeps SG in your mind (soundtracks great too)
Oh yeah they use music from VN which also hits hard lol
Also don't worry about VN flashbacks they don't spoil VN as you'll know if you experienced them but it'll probably just fly past you if you haven't.

Steins;Gate Movie: Fuka Ryouiki no Déjà vu has many of the same themes as the series packed into a more digestible time format.
This is a good thing for fans of the series as they get to see more of their favorite characters. Those who have not seen the anime will undoubtedly be confused and disappointed. The movie plays out similarly to the original series but swapping the main character role, leaving viewers with a real sense of Déjà vu. If you have already seen the anime then you know what to expect and if you haven't go watch the anime first. This movie is not critical to the enjoyment of the series, but does expand on some characters in a good way.

An ambiguously canon sequel to a visual novel adaptation that already had a definitive, if somewhat intentionally vague and open-ended conclusion. The fate of Makise Kurisu and Okabe Rintarou's relationship was left ambiguous because ultimately, we don't really need to see it to know what's probably going to happen. All he needed to do was re-establish contact with her and all the things they liked about each other in the other world lines would probably still be there. There wasn't really any reason to make a movie about an amnesia plot that's been a staple of the romantic comedy since Shakespeare invented it (I don't know if he really did but most romcom tropes can be traced back to one of his plays so that's what we're going with.)
So yeah, the movie was probably pointless, but I had j…

I just wanted to start with this, because it's honestly the only reason I decided to write this review, and not a spoiler either, but at 1:18:37 they snuck in a bright yellow Lancia Delta Integrale Evo 2 which I thought was sick.
Also watch it, it's good. This one focuses more on someone other than Okabe, though at the start it seems like it would be a repeat of the OVA where they just get together and interact or have a good time, but there's actually a great deal of plot development. If you enjoyed the main show, you'll have a great time watching this movie.

When I started this movie, I really didn't feel like Steins;Gate had anything left to offer. Don't get me wrong, the anime is incredible, but it was a bit long. But this doesn't matter, because this movie is top tier.
Now, how did the Steins;Gate series manage to successfully outgrow its tired niche? Well, the main thing that happened is that they changed the main character. And honestly, that was a satisfying change. Christina had her character moment, which she desperately needed. For real, it was a waste to have her simply be a shoulder to lean on.
This movie made me notice something with the original anime, and to be fair, that's a something that happens in most of fiction. I call it MC centrism. Basically, it's when the MC is the centerpiece of all of character interactions. It is s…

Most of the reviews which were critical or bashing Steins;Gate The movie: Load Region of Deja Vu (2013) is because it was released before Steins;Gate 0 (2018). And that is reasonable for those who watched it after watching the original series, Steins;Gate (2011).
However, according to a CBR article (Link: https://www.cbr.com/steins-gate-anime-watch-order/);
I watched the anime in the following chronological order ->>
Steins;Gate (2011) -> Steins;Gate Episode 23 beta -> Steins;Gate 0 (2018) -> Steins;Gate The Movie: Load Region of Deja Vu (2013)
I am glad I watched the entire Steins;Gate 0 including the OVA (episode 24) before watching this movie as the 2018 series resorted in the beta world line which is beyond traumatic and thrilling. I think the beta world chapter made the movie much…

The story is solid but the story of Steins Gate with or without it. For my view there was no need for this movie since the conflict was flawed and also because at the end it was solved with ease.
The characters are alright not much development from them another than Kurisu and Okabe.
The visuals are pretty good but still pretty much the same to the original series with some uses of CG. The sound effects are pretty good but there wasn't much use of music in most of the scenes.
But at the end it wasn't worth my time but I felt like completing because I wanted too but if you genuinely liked the series then this will be worth you time.

I am a pretty big Steins Gate fan and the feelings I felt watching this is amazing. Steins gate was perfectly wrapped up and had a good ending. It wasn't needed but felt important.
Story 10/10
(Minor Spoilers) This movie takes place in the Steins Gate timeline, after the Anime Steins;Gate (2011). Okabe Rintaro (Main Character) finally reached the timeline where Mayuri and Kurisu lives. But, there will always be a timeline where Okabe doesn't exist. He forced himself into the timeline and he gets flashbacks of his previous experiences in this timelines. His memories get overlapped and slips out of this timeline because he wasn't meant to be here.
This time, the other lab members find it weird and feel like something was missing (okabe dosn't exist). Kurisu tries to remember him and trie…

To preface this, let me say that I liked the main series a lot, but I didn't really understand why everyone loved it so much. It just seemed like a really good anime, but nothing GOAT material.
Now, this movie is not better than the main series. Not by a long shot. It's so much more... anime? If you know what I mean? There are just a lot more anime tropes and stuff that make it feel more like a traditional anime than the original did. There are more macguffins and plot holes, more moe stuff, more happy endings. Also, all the time travel stuff doesn't make nearly as much sense as the main series and I don't even think that it could even work in the context of the rules that the main series set up.
However, after saying all this, I still liked this movie more than the main series. I think…

Despite some inconsistencies with the original VN, I really enjoyed this sweet and wholesome movie.
Rintarō and Kurisu's relationship is portrayed magnificently and I'm glad the movie focuses on it, with a nice and enjoyable adventure which is 100% going to please the viewer.
As I stated above it's not perfect, it holds some logic inconsistencies which makes it a non-canon content, but if you're a fan of the amazing Lab Coat Duo you can't miss this film.
I won't deny it made me actually shed some tears.
I would totally recommend it and I'm definitely going to rewatch it again.

it was a good experience, not the same as "steins;gate" but this was still very awesome. There was some moments i cringed because of overexagerated things and some minor problems that nobody cares about like (jump to the next section if you dont want spoilers): KSSEDTECHID...
Overall, that was good, not a ten (what is something because i usually give ten to everything i see on my path), but still close to it, now some things about the show: The sound usage was great and gave a new layer to the anime making it more "realistic" (i put "realistic" because i never heard the sound of when you time travel in real life -.-), and, as well, the visuals, like the screen that shows what is the day was a good complement to it, the caracter desing was somehow good, but because of some…

The movie serves as a great fan service, because it shows events after Steins;Gate and Steins;Gate 0. The story goes on and I liked how they connected it with the events of the first game. Also, I liked the fact that Kurisu is the main character of the movie, and (minor spoiler) she can understand how it feels to be in the same situation as Okabe is in the main anime. As of everything else, it's your typical Steins;Gate so you know you will love it. Overall, I liked the movie a lot and it was a nice ending of the events of Steins;Gate. Now, we are looking forward the next Steins;???.

(Spoiler free review) This movie takes place right after steins;gate and it's almost as good as the show.
The movie answers very important questions that weren't answered in the original show.
It also brings back returning characters such as Okabe , Kruisu , Daru Etc.
The reading steiner is finally explained in great detail and characters are more expressive in the movie over the show and we get a whole new look at the character Kruisu. If I had to say one thing I like about this movie is the pacing of it every scene feels natural and nothing feels out of place. For how much I like this movie I still wouldn't say it's better than the show but it almost is. The ending is one of the best endings I've ever seen and wraps up the story nicely with a wholesome conclusion.
(Conclusion stateme…

I really like steins;gate but I just wanted to say that I am very disappointed by the story. So be careful because I am going to spoil.
SPOILER:
The story is nice overall but if you think about it it makes no sense. The purpose of Kurisu is to give a memorable memory to Okabe but the thing is: Okabe isn't originalyfrom the steins gate so everything before 2010 happens with the Okabe of the Steins Gate wich hasn't been replaced yet. I say this because Kurisu went to 2005 to create a memorable memory but traveler Okabe remembered it wich makes no sense!
The second problem is actually the worst. They created a time paradox. Kurisu teached Okabe about Hououin Kyouma but he should have been the one to come up with this idea on its own.

Why didn't they just bang? Like Kurisu has to do all this stuff to make him think this is the true timeline by creating a strong memory, if they banged that would've done the trick. They break the rule of time travel they had set up by doing all this extra stuff, she could've just slept with him. Overall though the movie was Good, besides for the few problems I had with plot the movie was enjoyable. It was fun seeing how these characters relationships continued after the events of the TV Series. If your looking for some more screen time with the characters of Steins:Gate its worth a watch, but if you hope that this movie keeps its story as complex and concrete as the Show you will be disappointed.

So I ironically forgot there was a Steins;Gate movie that acts as a sequel to the 2011 TV series. I say ironically because the movie, Fuka Ryouiki no Deja vu, is actually all about forgetting that the character Hououin Kyouma ever existed. So is it worth a watch? It's ok but the movie is a 100% unnecessary continuation to an already-perfect ending. In other words it's "the Force Awakens of Steins;Gate content"!
I think few people would argue with me when I say Steins;Gate ended on a perfect note. SERN was defeated, the timeline was restored, both Mayuri and Kurisu are alive and well...THE END, right? Well, this movie gives us 30 minutes of slice of life shenanigans (which I honestly enjoyed, it was just nice to see these characters again), and then we get into the plot. Kyouma is feeling…
