First review a go-go!
This Koi-ken! OVA can be summed up easily enough:
Single serving ecchi goodness.
The roughly hour long OVA centers around a group of girls that try to become idols and win the hearts of everyone who watches their performance.
Characters seem developed enough, with pre-existing relationships between each girl in the group. The entire plot/style of this series just bleeds eyecandy. There is a pile of fanservice waiting around every corner, and many classic anime personality stereotypes are represented in the cast.
I found myself grinning at the shenanigans the group gets into (almost all scenes are garnished with a mini ecchi montage), and when I decided to show this to a friend who enjoys more gruff/seinen stories, I totally saw him crack a few smiles.

[This is my first review. I had no intention of writing a review, and this will be short, but I disagree strongly with the only other review, and MAL's synopsis of this show is completely wrong - at least compared to what I watched, titled "Koi-ken! Watashitachi Anime ni Nacchatta!," downloaded from a torrent.]
What I watched is just one 53-min episode, not 12 4-min episodes, and has nothing to do with dating. It is about a group of 7 girls being encouraged, taught, and coached to become an idol group, and their overcoming of any negative feelings they had about idols, overcoming their fears, and working hard as a group of close friends to achieve the goal.
It was very much not what I was expecting, nor was it something I would say I typically might find very interesting, but after someh…

First, even If I have scored this with 3, I wont be so rough in my review. Mainly because this is a genre that I dont like, from the begining. But, if you are asking what its like is a mixture between Idol Master and AKB, thats basicly Musical Shojo. I've seen different kind of series, and this is possibly the worst of the genre.
It hasnt any type of romance or drama, if there are two or three labels to describe this one They'd be: Friendship, Idol, Shojo.
So If you dont like, one of them I really suggest u not to see it, it sucks. But for Idol Master and others fans, give it a try.
