Toei UFO Grendizer the final anime of the Toei Mazinger Trilogy, its not my favorite do to many things , like the ending , this show its another Monster of the Week Mecha anime , about Duke Fleed , and his battle against the Vegan Empire, the show tackles this every episode, and it's the same thing over and over , every new character we see gets killed off in the same episode , pros the music and monster designs again are great , cons the characters gets retired very quickly, this is a classic among mecha anime fans , looking forward for that remake anime coming soon , this is my review of Toei UFO Grendizer

This one is probably the first anime I ever watched. They showed it on TV during 90s.
It is somewhat simplistic by modern standards and have some silly stuff here and there. Animation is lacking at times. Plot of some episodes is bad. Some characters are stupid.
However overall it is still a very decent show. It has awesome Intro and outro, both music and art. Really cool main protagonist Duke Fleed aa well as his mecha: Grendizer. Gundam and even Go Nagai himself with his Mazinger kept doing more and more mecha shows, but could not reach brilliance of this one.
Grendizer is awesome, I do want to pilot it myself. Duke is also cool hero. He does a lot himself, but people around him are mostly supportive and grateful to him.
Opponents look like a stereotypical villains at first, but over…

A nearly timeless masterpiece.
If you were find to a series that captivated you just like it did your parents so many years ago , then you have struck gold.
I can only imagine how it looked like when mom waited a whole week just to watch a gaint robot show and an episode of princess sarah.
Bare in mind this review is shrouded in nostalgia.
Although by today's standards , Grendizer is full of anime clichés: how the characters interact , the fate of some them and even their personalities , .... it might have started the alien bishounen trend , which for all I care , makes it a 0/10 anime.
and Grendizer is pretty cuwul , he's a big , very BIG chad robot a a a and he can launch out his arms and throw chainsaw like disks in ship form a-and he can "combine" with other vechiles that the main ca…

One of my all time favourites! It was between the late 70's or the early 80's. that a certain Anime series from Japan came out of nowhere and quickly won the hearts of Arab children everywhere, that show was UFO Robot Grendizer.
Developed by Go Nagai and his Dynamic Pro who brought us classics such as Mazinger Z, Cutey Honey, Getter Robo and Devilman, the show chronicles the adventures of Duke Fleed, a young alien prince from a now destroyed alien planet who flees to planet Earth, landing in Mount Fuji, Japan. Wounded, he was found by Dr. Umon the head of the Space Science Lab.
Taking up the name Daisuke Umon, he began working in a ranch near the lab helping out the Makiba family who reside Shirakaba farm, the family consists o…

a very old anime i watched it dubbed when i was barely 4 years old
considering the animation nowadays it`s animation is bad but if you checked all the animations at that time you will see that it`s actually pretty good and better than all the animes at that time
it was dubbed in a lot of languages and i actually doubt you will find the original Japanese one easily if you want it
i checked out the French , English and Arabic dub they were all very good and more importantly easy to understand even for little kids
the story is about a guy who ran away from his planet and ended up on the earth later the people who invaded his planet tried to invade the earth but he drives grendizer and stop them as the time pass by his friends from earth join him and help fight the invaders
the plot…

Grendizer AKA Goldorak or Goldrake is a very special case as it is the very first Japanese animation series to be very successful in many countries (Quebec, Italy, France, central Europe ...) at the end of the 1970s.
It was because of this anime significant media and commercial success that:
-Audience from these countries became aware of what exactly is Japanese animation
-Some parents and some politicians had a negative prejudice over Japanese Animation (people can die? vilains can be good looking? characters can be ambiguous? that was too new to them in animation...)
- Nearly all the public and private TV channels enjoyed the opportunity and had broadcast almost everyday Japanese animation from the end of the 1970s and for more than a decade : until the middle of the 1990s (until the sc…
