There are old stories of children disappearing by the river's edge. This has haunted Otoha ever since her friend Jiro disappeared when she was seven years old and now she is back in her hometown covering the war between the government and the dissidents. This anime is very unique. Despite the low rating(5.80 as of writing this), I would easily recommend this to people. Especially if you like dark, mysterious stories.
What do I think is good about it?
-The atmosphere is unsettling and mysterious, but not overly cryptic.
-The art-style is aesthetically pleasing, and stands out compared to many other anime.
-The directing and cinematography is very good.
-It is short and impactful.
-Due to how short it is, the storytelling is tight and focused, so it's engaging to watch.
-The perspective shifts between past and present, creating a strange sense of nostalgia, mystery and uncertainty.
-It handles a dark subject matter, without being childishly edgy or corny.
-It feels like it was made with passion and intent, the exact opposite of a cash-grab.…

Pro(s)
-plot:killer ending (hahaha). I am laughing at the joke not quite so much on the ending.
-audio: no static or unpleasant noices from sound.
Con(s)
- art: could have done without the multicolored fog. It made it hard to see what was going on.
-plot: was a tad confusing. For it went back and forth between the past and current.
-backstory of the main character seemed a tad rushed. Yes, there was back story but there should have been a touch more. -back story of the other characters were either limited and/or confusing.
p.s.
In Honor of the recently fallen Director Suzuki, Seijun. He was a historical figure in anime Lupin only makes sense i do a review of a historical anime.
