Actually the blueprint for all parody cute moe comedy anime to come after it, I mean wow does this hold up in terms of pure otakuism. I first got introduced to DGC through Party Night and then all the character songs and fell in love with it, so so happy that that obsession crosses over to the show.
Animation is surprisingly good, I think it's cel animation and it still looks incredibly fluid and expressive but also detailed for the time, beyond has aged well.
The OP is perfect, so high speed and cute and it doesn't get old. The ED is fine.
The characters are all over-the-top like parodies of tropes, the cute little one, the bratty self-important main one, the beautiful rival, the love interests etc. They're all dialed up and so are consistently funny, I love any comedy where seeming…

Just finished watched it again and this is different from what I remembered. Watched this on my childhood, it's dubbed on my language and aired on the TV. Was too young to understand, but now I find this is a great gag anime. It has the charm and the comedy of early 2000s anime.
The plot is... well, there's not really a specific plot. Two princesses from another planet come to earth for their coming-of-age. They don't have place to stay on earth, but different stores in a district offer them to stay, so both are living separately. They go strolling on earth, learning about how things work, and using magic items to solve problems they face. Cute and very charming!

I don't know what I've just watched, and I don't understand the positive reviews at all.
Di Gi Charat is a straight-up bizarre and incomprehensible mess. We have a bunch of cute looking characters (with one if any personality traits) going on weird adventures which the writers saw in their fever dreams. That's all.
I have no idea who is supposed to be the target audience. It's too fast-paced and inappropriate for kids, but at the same time somehow too childish and boring for teenagers and adults.
The only thing I enjoyed are the characters' designs, they're cute and nice to look at.

This is peak fiction, I haven't come across any other anime that can compare to this.
The way Di gi Charat is written is genius in that it ascends the general rubric for anime and I had to evaluate it in a way different from any other series. The character designs for Dejiko, Puchiko, and Usada are peak moe and the citizens of akihabara being represented as anthropomorphic thumbs is a great metaphor for how the city is a hub for gamers. The comedy is a great mix of surreal humor and satire. All in all a great show if you're pretty acquainted with anime and love silly humor.

Di gi charat, I barely know the order to watch the anime so I thought starting from here was good
-Story 7/10-
Look the story was really nice, and they even added some other fun yet casual elements. Sadly I put a 7 (seven) because we don't see the characters at said shop in every episode, the fact that they're working in a shop feels like a not important detail
-Art 8/10-
Main characters had pleasant designs. The background characters is what bothered me. Look if I were an alien wo came at planet earth and saw that everyone there was like a bean and I were the only human looking I would feel uncomfortable
-Sound 9/10-
The op and VAs are really good, there is no ending, the op is the first 40 seconds of each episode
-Character 8/10-
The characters don't have a lot of depth, well they ha…

As a short series which purpose is to be an advert, we can't really expect much but still.
The show is about alien catgirls who came down to Akihabara just to live there. So you'll have a serie of short comical scenes in a slice of life style anime.
The charadesign is quite nice, especially Petit Charat who is really cute and quite funny. DigiCharat the MC is comparable in character to Jashin Dropkick.
The main problem with this show is that it's trying to be funny, and never is. At most you'll have a fun atmosphere, but you will never laugh. The dialogues are supposed to be funny but aren't: you'll just have the feeling that they just said something a bit weird and nothing more.
Overall it was really boring even though it only lasts 3min per episode.
P.S.: My first review on MAL.

These girls might be just mascots for a store in Akihabara but this anime is worth a watch. I wouldn't put it high on your queue or anything, but if you're like me and have the attention span of a 5 year old with ADHD who just consumed 3 cups of coffee, and you also happen to have 40 or so minutes to kill this is a good watch. it's fast paced, the episodes are super short, it's colourful, quirky, and the stupid jokes and gags are right up my absurdist alley. Being familiar with the area of Akihabara will give you a bonus layer of enjoyment. Also the character designs are absolutely rank with the stench of 2001 and good lord i love that so damn much i would watch the show just for that alone.
TLDR: if you're a dumbass like me then this show is perfect for you. even if you're not, go ahead…

I guess the most succinct and germane review I can provide for Di Gi Charat is that it very much comes across, to me at least, as sort of a Japanese "Aqua Teen Hunger Force." I doubt the creators of either series were aware of the other (though they were begun within a year or so of one another), but they absolutely possess a similar spirit and sensibility.
The two shows share the same sort of dada, nonsensical storytelling, and a comparable comic use of the non sequitur. Aqua Teen's weirdo style certainly isn't for everyone, and neither is Di Gi Charat's. But if, like me, you really enjoy Meatwad and company, I think this show is definitely worth a try.

It is impossible to take Di Gi Charat 100% seriously. Firstly, there is no linear narrative -- each episode is a vignette with the established characters in a new situation (but not necessarily a different setting). And secondly, the script is so insane, the writers were definitely having a riot making this stuff up. There is no mistaking this for a serious entry into the anime records.
This was one of the first anime series I watched start to finish as a teenager, and it blew my mind. With only a handful of animes under my belt, I'd seen enough to be very familiar with several anime cliches (namely melodramatic dialogue and anticlimactic storytelling), and as such, I watched Di Gi Charat with the understanding that it was a satire on the whole genre. I'm surprised to find that it wasn't…

This was a very short anime, I saw all the episodes in about 1 night. One reason I liked this was because it was very cute and random. But a reason I didn't like it was because it didn't have Piyoko in it. Piyoko is a character from most of the other Di Gi Charat series, by the way. The art style was very cute, I really liked it. ^^ I think if you have time, you should watch this series. I reccomend it! Thanks for reading :D

May as well make a review for this. Maybe someone out there will read this!
For such an old series (more than 10 years), Di Gi Charat can actually deliver something... may it be fun and laughter, cuteness or just filling in some spare minutes, as these episodes are only 4-7 minutes long.
WEIRD FACT: Di Gi Charat was solely created by Broccoli just to advertise their Gamers store in Akihabara, Japan.
There isn't much of a storyline. We have 2 young catgirls: Dejiko (who dreams to become an idol) and Puchiko, and their floating blob Gema decide to land in Akihabara. With no actual place to stay, they get hired to work at Gamers and makes the store their home.
The series doesn't exactly have a continuous plot and instead, each episode has their own little plot/storyline. Some are silly, ot…
