Assassins Pride

Assassins Pride

Introduction

On the brink of extinction, mankind has downsized and now solely resides in the city-state of Flandore, living in cities encased by glass domes. Beyond the domes exist vicious lycanthropes who thrive in the darkness; among the citizens inside, a clear distinction between the nobility and commoners is in place. The blood of nobles enables them to utilize mana, granting them abilities that exceed human limits and greatly assist them in defeating lycanthropes. Already 13 years of age, noble Melida Angel has yet to manifest her mana, and attends an elite academy where she is mistreated for her lack thereof. In order to help her, Kufa Vampir is ordered by the Angel family to become Melida's tutor. While Kufa seems to be a mere mentor, an ulterior motive lurks behind his job—he is to assassinate her if he confirms that she does not possess mana. Kufa's investigation eventually leads him to determine he must eliminate Melida. However, Kufa is struck by her unwavering determination, spirit, and belief in herself when he witnesses her in a fight, choosing instead to offer a way she can manifest her magic. As Melida learns to use mana with the help of Kufa's teachings, Kufa forsakes his mission and jeopardizes everything to keep his discovery of Melida unknown to the Angel family and his own guild. However, both Kufa and Melida will soon realize that hiding their secret will not be the only challenge they face, as unforeseen trouble is waiting just around the corner. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

I actually dropped this series when it was airing and was on its 3rd episode, only to finish it years later, the series starts off giving you "high quality" production that you can follow on weekly basis. Good artwork, aura farming MC, decent voice actors. Then... The story progression makes literally no sense. One moment we're dealing with class discrimination and the brutal reality of a mana-based caste system, the next we're... having a tournament arc? No wait, now it's a school festival? Hold on, there's a conspiracy involving... actually, I'm not even sure what the conspiracy was about because the show certainly didn't feel obligated to explain it. The narrative structure has the consistency of a fever dream written by someone who kept forgetting what they wrote in the previous s…

While the art is pretty good it was genuinely the hardest watch I've had in a long time because random things kept happening and I was supposed to take them seriously. The ages are weird and the story couldn't completely focus on one thing that made sense. I can usually handle unoriginal anime but this was on another level. This is one of the few anime that might actually be a waste of time. It's not even funny bad it's just bad and that's coming from someone that can give the benefit of doubt. I only gave it a 2 because I watched it for the opening and art. If you make it halfway through this I promise it does not get any better. Tldr: It's bad and the opening song + art got it a 2

I tell this simply, this is one of the worst anime that i have ever seen At first, the start was a little interesting but at the end, the story development was very simple and poorly done, it feels like a disorganized story without much of any special things that try to use interesting topics that finally don't work The characters are the most simple of the simple things, i suposse that the protagonist is nice but finally, she doesn't have any interesting thing The production is not bad but it doesn't stand out at all, its only ok Really a dissapointment, i dont recommend this in the slightest

tl;dr: If you're someone that likes overpowered main characters, I suggest you try this out! It's a magical anime that takes place in a fictional city and is a typical 12 episode long series so it's not too long. Watch a couple episodes and see if you like it. On to my actual review now, Assassins Pride is a story about a powerful soldier named Kufa who mentors a girl without magic from a well-known family. In this world, magic ability represents the higher class standing of society which this girl, named Melida, is from. Kufa, who normally slays monsters and deals with other matters around the higher class society, has a job of not only mentoring Melida but seeing if she has the capability for magic also. I think the story was quite enjoyable. I've watched a lot of these overpowered ma…

Was this Anime an absolute masterpiece? No. Is it worth the watch? Yes. Let me explain, Minor spoilers ahead: The MC is a pretty likeable bad ass character with a shady backstory and early hints of a tragedy in his youth, the female cast are all unique in the own way and for the most part dont play into overall anime tropes. The overall world building was left purposefully vague however you were given just enough information so that you wern't confused. The problems come in when some things are quite poorly explained and this anime does suffer from some serious pacing issues, especially when less that half way through the series they have a Padding Episode that has no bearing on the actual overarching story as well as Zero character development however saying that the episode is h…

I liked this anime for the art and sound. When I was watching the anime, I was quite hyped about it because the opening was catchy with beautiful visuals, and let's not forget the good-looking Kufa as well. I'm writing this review now a few months after I finished watching it, and I have to say that they hype only lasts a while. Art and sound can only go so far, because story-wise, I wasn't as impressed. I think anyone could've made the plot more interesting. The whole plot is quite easy to predict, and sometimes, the plot you imagine might be better than how the actual story goes. I'm giving the characters a score of 6 though and not an 8 because I kept on getting annoyed about was how the Melida's hairstyle reminded me of sailor moon. No matter how good the characters look, if they r…

The world the anime is placed in is beautifully created. You can see the depth of the world with the bits and pieces that get explained along the way. Loved the way things like classism and other prejudices were addressed while avoiding making this a political anime. Well written, well drawn, well voiced. I've already recommended it to my friends. I enjoyed the depth of characters that you only see if you keep watching. There is character growth for more than just main characters, side characters grow and change as well. Well written plot and villains, while some characters come across as cliche at first no character is flat. I also liked how much different characters' decisions affected other characters later on. This is definitely going on my re-watch list, and I hope that the creators m…

Oh boy where do I begin... Probably episode 1 because their is basically no backstory to most of the characters, the show basically gives us no context to most of our characters and us, the viewers, are left in the dark. For example, a scene that is meant to be "epic" and "exciting" is completely boring because we are never shown how the characters got to that point. With that being said, the story is so fast paced that it's very confusing to understand. We jump from one week before to day of in less than 3 seconds. Even some of the fight scenes are cut from the anime. Most conflicts are started right before the middle of the episode and is concluded by the end of the episode. Some of the story is predictable that you would know what would happen (in fights and plot). I feel like they fi…

The concept for Assassin's Pride had potential, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. I didn't particularly enjoy watching it and just generally thought it was bad. Production value aside (more on that later), the characters are weak, and the story is a mess. The only redeeming thing about this show is the occasional cute or funny moment. I didn't find any of the cast to be interesting or engaging. The main characters are very lacking given their level of prominence. Each one has a specific narrative that defines their character (e.g., Melida the "incompetent talented girl": a talent by birth, but failure in practice), and the development that occurs as the story progresses does nothing besides reinforce these narratives. As a result, we have one-dimensional characters that travel…

this is my favorite bad anime because it never bothers to pretend like it ever had any potential that was squandered by its execution, no hidden potential that could have been drawn out of it, no vision butchered beyond recognition. its badness is not jarring because it is consistently always bad, so much so that any moment of quality would have ruined the perfect harmony. the pacing is consistently strange but you wont find yourself slacking through it, because every episode is jampacked with fresh nonsense and if proper setup and execution requires any boring downtime whatsoever it has been cut in favor of a smooth ride. like those boat rides in a theme park. there will always be something ridiculous to point out, and you wont be going long between them. the characters are so far removed…

Let's get this right : this anime is an insult to its viewers intelligence, and whoever made this is either an idiot, a money-craving scumbag, or both. My money on the latter. For starters, maybe you should better explain (or explain at-all) why the so-called assassin spares the little girl. After 12 episodes, I've still no idea. If it's because of love, then the very stoic protagonist should at the very least getting a bit emotional for us to understand that. If it's because of his dubious line of work, and doubts about his mission, then at least we should learn why this cause such a dilemna for him to abandon his mission. Forget that ! With just an incredible stupid catchphrase about his pride, his assassin pride (because, why, of course), that's it. Save the girl, save the world etc…

Assassins Pride (2019) It is a typical style story of a weak girl that gains a strong helper. (Instructor in this case who is an Assassin). He is sent to help her and if she doesn't cut it is then to kill her. He however almost immediately falls in love with her. They are actually only a few years different in age despite what you may think initially. He then helps her more than he should and they begin their journey secretly connected. The world is plagued by monsters that has left much of the world uninhabitable. Unlike a show like Chrome Shelled Regios where you get a good amount of the normal life versus the monsters trying to kill everyone you barely see it here. You get a few monsters and hybrids but ultimately the conflict of the world is barely touched. This is a it disappointin…

Let me say it right here: No matter what anyone else thinks, I think Assassins Pride is worth watching. The primary story is fairly basic growth story of the main protagonist Melida Angel, but how the story is told and everything that happens around the main story is what makes the story good. The art style is beautiful, even though it is pretty basic artstyle for anime at the moment. The color balance of the art works and even if the style is not unique, it still works and looks good, no problems with that. Same with the sounds, they work even if they are not something unique, because things don't always have to be unique. The characters are very interesting with both their looks and their stories. Especially Kufa Vampir, who, even though in the main story he is shown mostly as a teac…

*Reposted due to MAL's rules on preliminary reviews* I am absolutely flabbergasted by the number of positive reviews written for this show (as of December 8, 2019). This show has to be one of the most uninspired, generic pieces of work that has come out in recent memory. I'm quite perplexed by how anyone can find this sorry excuse for an anime intriguing, and how this show was even green-lit in the first place. Not only do I think this show is absolutely horrendous, but it outright disrespects the viewer's intelligence and its a tragedy that anyone is allowed to even go near this filth. I won't write a long winded review of me completely trashing this show and going through everything that is wrong with it, so I'll give you the gist of everything this show embodies: Laziness. This show…

‘Age is just a number… and remember kids, It’s not incest if you say no chromo’ – Albert Einstein 1969. Although hard to decipher from the title, Assassin’s Pride conveys the affectionate student-teacher affair that takes place between primary protagonists Vampir Kufa and Melida Angel. Their relationship is truly heart-warming and could very well be considered ‘#relationshipgoals’ until you realize Kufa is a legitimate borderline pedophile, but that doesn’t matter because the feeling is mutual and true love has no boundaries. Our primary male protagonist Kufa Vampir definitely possesses some unique and original characteristic traits. These traits range from being a Kirito lookin' mother fucker, grooming young underaged girls and having high levels of proficiency when it comes to the sex…

Assassin's Pride was painful. I'm not even sure it is worse than 2015's The Asterisk War which was one of the worst things I have ever seen then again. I don't compare trash bags to each other. The whole point of the trash bag is to depose the trash bag from your house to the trash bin not to compare how smelly they are otherwise the house would be smelling of garbage. This is easily the worst anime of the fall 19 season, beating out the worst isekai animes of that season. Am not even sure that this show was done by human beings. Before I talk about the show's plot, let's immediately dive into this show's technical aspects. This show looks like shit. This is a show that came out in 2019 yet it feels like I am watching a 2005 anime production. The only decent thing about the visuals is t…

It was quite unfortunate that there wasn't much love for this anime and as one guy said it " You will only stay with it for the train wreck" well, he's half right, cu'z this really has a lotta train wreck in it that I can't blame those who give this a low score for it's overall, so how do I rate this????: Story-Good 7: It simply follow the relationship between the a girl whose often being an object of ridicule and mistreatment not only from her own family but also to her classmates as well and a lycanthropes/ half man half vampire, who was at first assign to check as to the girl's legitimacy of being a member of noble house of Angels but in the end he becomes the girl's mentor as he give her part of her mana that makes have the ability to fight back and claim her right to be a member of…

Despite lacklustre animation, I truly enjoyed Assassins Pride. I enjoyed the world, the characters, the premise, the art, etc. Which is why I still gave it an 8. Where the anime really fell short however is with its storytelling. It's painfully obvious that the anime skips out on a lot of details which would have made the story flow a lot better and transition from one stage to the next. Without that, it feels very clunky and at many points I found myself asking "What the fuck is going on?" because of how confusing everything was. The animation was also not the best throughout, fight scenes at points looked like they were legit powerpoints. Not quite Nanatsu no Taizai bad, but they were bad. I get that's not the focus of the series, so I don't hold too much against it. Lastly, for a sein…

I must have read the title of this anime wrong. Because let’s face it, this show isn’t so much about the pride of an assassin but more of how secrets are waiting to be discovered and protected. Watching Assassins Pride feels more like an action fantasy than a stealthy story. And from start to finish, it's an anime filled with nothing but mediocrity. Let’s just say, this type of anime is very conventional in a realm of creativity. There’s the premise about how humans struggle to survive in a world of uncertainty. Society consists of commoners and nobles. Then, there are gifted individuals with the power of “Mana”, capable of fighting against the monsters outside of the timeless nights. Assassins Pride doesn’t choose to be original enough and the first episodes made less than favorable impr…
