Spare Me, Great Lord!

Introduction

Lü Shu is a frail teenager with an iron will. After losing his parents, he enrolls in a prestigious high school while working for a living and looking after his adoptive sister, Lü Xiaoyu. However, Lü Shu's quiet life abruptly changes when a car accident awakens his latent cultivation superpowers. Now cured of his physical weakness, he decides to hide his newfound abilities, as the art of cultivation is still shrouded in mystery—and the fate of cultivators uncertain. Meanwhile, Tian Luo Di Wang, the international foundation responsible for monitoring the cultivators, sets its plans in motion. Under the impetus of their member Xi Fei, a special cultivation training group is established in Lü Shu's high school. Although Lü Shu is forced to join the program, he is determined to hide the nature of his fearsome power, for his cultivation draws from an unlimited resource: the negative emotions of others brought about by his actions. I just finished it yesterday. The story had potential. I'll just ignore the animation quality. It maybe enjoyable for you, if you want a weak character growing strong. But the MC is a total jerk. Imagine you are watching overlord but Ainz Ooal Gown is a high school student and a Jerk. Bad animation is acceptable if the story is good. Story would be good if the MC was better. It was suffering to watch the whole season 1. Still I'll give season 2 a chance, if there is no personality development then I will just drop it. Better than suffering.

So, this is my emotions that i felt when watched it for the first time, unedited. You can have a brief rundown of them before starting the show ^^ Note that these were raw emotions, and I noted them mostly when i didn't feel something was right. Thus, my rating despite all the rant proves that it has some good enjoyable bits as well. NOTEPAD EDITION: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ *SPARE ME, GREAT LORD! Note: this series is based around an alternate timeline in current era, one where spiritual energy is slowly emerging from the world, ie. an era of Spiritual Revival...* >ep1: W pyrokinetics. Will pay again to watch (if i was there) >art drops from Otherworldly tier to VeryGood-Awesome, starting ep3 >apparently physical bullying…

Spare Me, Great Lord! is a fresh Take on Cultivation Comedy. Animation & Art Style- The first season of Spare Me, Great Lord! stands out with its good animation, particularly in its action sequences and vibrant world design. The opening and ending themes are visually stunning, with a dynamic art style that blends modern aesthetics with traditional wuxia elements. Story & Characters- The plot follows Lu Shu, an orphan who gains a unique "distress point" system, allowing him to grow stronger by annoying others—a hilarious twist on cultivation tropes. The story balances comedy, slice-of-life moments, and light action. Lu Shu’s relationship with his adoptive sister, Lu Xiaoyu is a highlight, offering heartwarming depth amid the humor. However, side characters often feel underdeveloped, se…

The premise is basically cultivation gacha system. Hear me out, it's not as bad as it sounds. The closest comparison is Solo leveling, although this has much more slice of life and characters are a lot better(even if I'm talking only of specific few 'main' characters). Although in comparison it doesn't have as many fights as other senen fighting anime, the slice of life is extremely good and emotions are very well shown. Warm flashbacks from foster sister while she's at home wondering where he is, the fat director guy who seems dumb and greedy(just like MC) but he actually has some sense of responsibility and virtue. Fighting scenes, although few, they aren't bad and, although not on the solo leveling lvl, they're among the top of their year. Although system is there, it feels much more l…

Da Wang Rao Ming / Spare Me Great Lord is one hell of a great donghua. I had watched a few and didn't like most, liked Link Click and Dragon Raja a lot, and yet this one surpasses them. Firstly, the characters are as realistic as animation industry permits. Secondly, they have growth during the season which is great. The story is easy to understand, very easy to follow, and it tells us how things develop very clearly which is a great plus as far as anime/donghua storyline progresses are concerned. Animation is very good and there is none of that 3D nonsense of many Chinese animations have and everything is very nicely drawn and animated. Fight scenes are great and very well choreographed and normal interactions look great, too. I liked the opening theme quite a bit and generally the music…

A very well written and nicely paced anime. Made in China. There is alot of talking and it might turn some people off, which is understandable. But i found the conversations fascinating that i wasnt bored. It takes its time without wasting your time. Its a story about metahumans who recently had their powers awakened. Think of them like mutants from X-Men. There is a secret organization that monitors, and trains these metahumans. They also capture rogue metahumans who cause trouble. The main character Lu Shu starts off on a low level. But by secretly feeding off of people's negative emotions he gets stronger and surpasses everyone. He irritates as much people as possible (but in a way thats funny to the viewer) while hiding his full power. He may come off as a stingy jerk at times b…

"Da Wang Rao Ming" delivers a hilarious and refreshing take on the cultivation genre, centered around the unlikely hero, Shu Lu, and his adoptive sister, Xiaoyu Lu. When Shu Lu's latent cultivation powers awaken after a car accident, he finds himself in a world where cultivators are viewed with suspicion by the government. Determined to keep his abilities hidden, Shu Lu's powers thrive on the negative emotions of those around him, leading to some outrageously funny situations as he inadvertently becomes a master at pushing people's buttons. What sets "Da Wang Rao Ming" apart is its ingenious twist on the source of the protagonist's powers—Shu Lu's knack for irritating everyone around him. This premise injects a unique and uproarious energy into the series, providing ample laughter and ent…

To start this review I really recommend this anime for everyone that never watched any Chinese animation before. I feel like this could be a good start for everyone. Except for me haha, the only Chinese anime I watched was Ani ni Tsukeru Kusuri wa Nai! I started watching Da Wang Rao Ming after I watched the opening and then It came... "Didn't I read some chapters from Manhua?" Then I get slightly excited... "Wait weren't there dungeons appearing in the city?" More excited... "Solo levelling is not complete yet let's see the first anime with that trope" After that, I realized that I should not be expecting much because I hate every Chinese anime. Let's say it straight I would enjoy it more if it was a Japanese anime. But still, I gave it 7/10, looking forward to the second season. To sum it…

I finished the anime confused I still don’t get the power level system it felt random. The main characters power system confused me the most why did he get this new ability I don’t know. His little sister abilities weren’t really explained The side characters feel 1 dimensional and didn’t make a impact on me. Give me a reason to actually care about them, I can hardly remember there names. The pacing is slow the story doesn’t really go anywhere which is disappointing and when it does move it felt rushed like why are they here. It was really funny at times but it’s a bit repetitive I’m hoping season two will fix the first seasons flaws

Overall the anime is a 6.5/10 Some of the plots were interesting, had some funny scenes. But the storyline was mediocre and the main protagonist can get at annoying at times but I guess that’s his powers. Also some of the scenes were so corny that you had to laugh. The whole system upon which the magic is based is never really explained properly, or perhaps it is just bad translations that are preventing a good understanding of what is happening. Lu Shu also always ends up with too many skill points and just wastes them. later on he turns into this arrogant directionless "AssWhole" that I personally could not stand for. The story became bland and characters lost their charm. Probably will never watch this show again.

A lot of aspects of this show, from the setting, characters, art style, and tropes feel more like an anime than a typical donghua. You've got the high school kids, the OP MC, the sister raised by brother because parents don't exist. Other than the language, the anime watcher will probably feel at home. It's a cultivation story, but it feels more reminiscent of superhero stuff than wuxia. You might like this if you like a power fantasy where the MC doesn't need to rely on anyone and everyone else needs to rely on him. The world-building is pretty weak. It doesn't feel like a place that could reasonably exist. Supposedly, super powers have recently sprung up in the world. There are already various factions in place with some knowledge about these super powers, and a school for the gifted wh…

It had a banger of an OP that I listened to at least 100 times, I just wished the rest of the anime had the same production value. xD The story sounds like it could get a lot more interesting but the world it's built is quite shallow despite its eluding to a larger world that influences aspects of the OP's life, it happens once when he gets his powers and no other time. It likes to give pretenses of an outside world by inserting characters onto the scene that just so happen to need to be there cause the city just so happens to be important for A or B reason despite those reasons not really being justified properly *SPOILERS AHEAD* Such a reason would be the formation eye that appears and creates an ancient tomb, sure it can appear anywhere and there are a finite number of them, but it…

Da wang rao ming Well what can I say. It’s a Great anime and I would recommend it. The fighting Szene‘s are descent. I like how he does this only for his sister and it’s very cute. Episode 8 was like the last 9 rated Episode from then on it was like an 8. I highly recommend it to people who want something random. Can’t wait for the second season lol. Quick review: Opening and ending song: bangers Opening animation: way above what the actual animation of the show was, so you were kinda falsely lured in expecting amazing animation, often times I notice that they're using still backgrounds where nothing is moving and only the main character in the foreground is moving which makes everything feels a bit off. Concept/Plot: it's okay, I like the parody of 'gacha' and 'trolling' that the MC does that makes it a bit diff from other shows with OP MCs. Some points in the show where the MC and "sister" interact are pretty heart-warming. Overall, it's a good show, not terrific, but I enjoyed it, maybe a s2 might make it better.

Great example of using their whole budget on the intro and outro. The intro is actually really cool, very artistic as well. The outro is good too but the rest of the Anime doesn't live up to that at all. The Animation and art takes a massive nose dive past the intro. The general story is alright. Not really that original though. I remember reading a manhwa with practically the same premise a couple of years ago. It is kind of funny how much of an ass the protag is though. I mean, I finished the Anime so it's not bad. It's just kind of average and I really wish it looked a bit better.

I instantly started to read the manhua after the last episode. It has a great character developement (continues in the manhua). Has epic scenes, a bit overpowered main character, however it is not too much. The magic system is logical and not overcomplicated. The main character's negative energy power makes it funny and serious at the same time. I specially like how some people complain about the opening being so good while the anime is just a 7-8. But if you think about it, good openings seduce people to start animes. I feel like it was Lu shu who decided to make such a cool opening so he can get more money :D I recommend reading the manhua after this, because it gets even better. It's not only colored, but has nice pictures, which makes it easy to understand.

Anime opening is best of Chinese animation, but it doesn't even represent reality, that animation still is not good it is decent compared to some, but op caused me to give it much more expectation. I personally like song at the beginning and ending, i like use of BGM (Background music) it is not overbearing but it bring certain atmosphere and it works even if you don't notice it, didn't see any short comings with sound design or feel but also it didn't pop out mostly, only in few flashbacks it popped out for me and made me notice it more, but still great sound design. Story is quite simple for wuxia style story, it has it's own quirks but it also borrows common concepts from other wuxia "system" stories levels, magic weapons, soul sea etc. for experienced person in wuxia it isn't nothing…

Granted, the opening was phenomenal but does the show overall stand up to it? Well... I would say NO. This anime is probably the biggest scam happened to me in 2021. "Expectations were like fine pottery. The harder you held them, the more likely they were to crack." ~ Brandon Sanderson. Expectations are a huge factor when it comes to entertainment which may or may not move in the direction one expects it to and sometimes severely affect the experience of a viewer. It is an attribute of humans and not something we can just switch on and off whenever we wish to. The difference in a person's judgement between a mediocre show with high acclamation and a well-written show with poor popularity can be quite large. That being said, Da Wang Rao Ming is the donghua (similar to anime but made in Ch…

So, this is my first review so bear with me. This is actually a really good anime. My only problem was the shitty subs but i guess cant help it. So the story is about a teenager that gets great power suddenly and tries to hide it. From what i felt, it is mostly a comedy type anime with the main character doing his best to rile people up and being a greedy bastard xD. So yeah this was very nice to watch, was looking forward to it every week. Also the Opening is sooo good, i didnt skip it once in all the 12 episodes, the ending is good too but the opening is top tier
