Alto Goldfilled, a diligent student at the Ortigia Academy of Magic, aspires to become a powerful sorcerer. But he is unable to become one as, despite his excellent grades and strong commitment to his studies, he fails his summoning class. With the threat of repeating a year hanging over his head, Alto tries following an old, worn-out grimoire in a desperate attempt to resolve his situation. To his surprise, he succeeds and summons a powerful demon named Vermeil. Vermeil in Gold is honestly one of those “turn your brain off and enjoy” type fantasy anime. The story isn’t really breaking any new ground — it’s pretty predictable if you’ve watched even a few magic school / demon contract shows — but it’s still fun because it doesn’t try too hard to be complicated. Characters are actually one of the better parts. Vermeil is confident, bold, kinda chaotic in a good way, and she easily carries a lot of scenes. Alto is more like your standard MC who slowly grows into things, nothing crazy, but his dynamic with Vermeil makes the show way more interesting than it should be. Their chemistry is basically the main reason you keep watching. Art is solid for what it is. Not insane “wow Ufotable” level or anything, but the character designs look good and the mag…

The first 4 episodes were cool, light hearted comedy, magic school, MC wanna be the best cool, they give us the typical blushing, head scratching wanna stay a perpetual virgin ass MC and even that wasn't unbearable in the context of the show, then episode 6 happened and you turned a relatively smart kid( near the top of his year) mind you and made him idealistic and a dumbass within the space of a few seconds, the antagonist literally had to explain himself twice so the aforementioned dumbass could finally understand that yes this is a bad guy(child killer, coma whatever) he's a bad dude and what does our MC do when this by every metric an evil man was about to be punished, sacrifice himself so the evil man can live, and does our dumbass MC suffer any consequences for his dumbassery, of co…

Vermeil in Gold- 6/10. Decent. Its a pretty standard ecchi romcom in a magic school setting. Our male main character is basically a magic student with pretty good hidden powers but can't pass the class without a familiar. So he uses an old book and out pops a really attractive demon Vermeil, who forms a contract with him. That's the story, from here on, its a generic fantasy. We explore background of Vermeil and other characters but its nothing you have not seen before. In fact, there is not a single thing you haven't seen before. But there is one positive about this show- its a good ecchi. If you like that, this show is for you. I personally did, that's why a 6/10 and not a 4 or 5/10.

Vermeil in Gold is an underrated fantasy anime that combines magic, romance, and comedy in a way that keeps you entertained from start to finish. The story follows a classic yet enjoyable setup, where a struggling magic student accidentally summons a powerful demon. While the premise isn’t groundbreaking, it’s executed well with plenty of fun and emotional moments. The art style is vibrant and colorful, fitting the fantasy setting perfectly. Character designs are appealing, especially Vermeil, whose presence dominates the screen with both charm and power. The animation quality is solid, especially in battle scenes where spells and abilities are well-animated. One of the highlights is the chemistry between Alto and Vermeil. Their dynamic is engaging, blending humor, tension, and heartfelt m…

tl;dr: Some good but generic concepts, but overall pretty shoddily put together. The anime is about Alto Goldfilled, a student at Ortigia Academy of Magic, and his familiar Vermeil, a high class demon. Though demons are generally feared and shunned by humanity, Alto can't help but have a positive impression of Vermeil, and Vermeil too becomes quite fond of her master. As they spend more time with and learns more about each other, they grow even closer. However, that doesn't change the fact that Vermeil is a demon and all the risks associated with that are still present. The core of this anime is the relationship between Alto and Vermeil. Due to Vermeil being a demon, she needs a lot of mana from her master, and the best way for him to give it to her is through kissing. So from the start…

Unusually good for it's genre. Don't expect anything groundbreaking. It isn't a top tier story that would change your view on life or teach you something. But despite it being an ecchi, it is very sweet and kinda wholesome. I've seen many ecchi anime, I admit, but this one got actually some depth to it. Albeit just some. Everything, the story, the characters, the world seems like an ordinary ecchi cliche at first. The few first episodes we watch a generic nice-guy, weakling, blunt protagonist who summons a hot chick who is all over him for some reason. What happens in the first episodes has very little meaning and makes very little sense as it only serves to provide the fan service to the audience. However as the story progresses, the characters evolve a bit. Especially the main guy wh…

I mean... Holy sh*t So a few things before the review... Couldn't he be Of age? Like why did he have to be like a 15 year old with a 500 year old demon mommy? Whatever. Story: I think for the most part the Story HAS potential But for the most part since this is a Season one I didn't really see a lot of Tasty stuff, just *bonk* Horny jail tier writing because of the massive jugs and while I'm not complaining as a Man of class myself it doesn't really translate if you're looking for a story beyond that. It has potential. Let's see if in A hypothetical season 2 more of that is focused on. Characters: I think the characters are fine. Nothing ground breaking but nothing too Bad from some of the other anime I've seen. Vermeil is not too deep of a character but I see this anime as more of a "T…

A tale of a young prodigious magician who has difficulty summoning a familiar until he has a chance encounter with a book in the library. This is a mixture of drama, action, romance, and intrigue, and it is a completely unremarkable concoction in its totality. The cast is comprised of shallow supporting characters that fulfill the most miniscule of roles in that they only ever appear on-screen to induce shenanigans or to invite adversity into the story. The villain(s) are evil for the purpose of being evil. The main character is special and has a unique power because that is how it is. The major supporting character is mighty and can only be summoned by the main character because that is also how it is. There is little expounding on the subject of magic in this series. It is a mystery as…

Vermeil in Gold is an example of a good story told poorly. At the story's beginning, it looks like this anime has nothing special. Instead, it started like an average anime without anything to highlight. The last three chapters will change your mind. Vermeil in Gold is a story with a lot of potential and with characters' personalities very well built. Sadly, in a world with thousands of average animes and strong competition, it is the author's responsibility to create a story that catches the audience's attention from the beginning. Sadly, the poor storytelling of Vermeil in Gold will cause the majority of the audience could lose interest in the first three chapters. I believe that Vermield in Gold has a lot of potential. But the mistake of average storytelling will condemn this story…

Well this was an amazing anime! Apart from all those lewed stuff the anime, the story was marvelous! Though I really wanted to know more about AIto well now we know what was Vermeil's past.... Well I had a theory that AIto might have a past of his own meaning his parents reason at the beginning Vermeil told that his mana is dense but she amplified at first she acted as a catalyst and finally he managed to obtain Golden Mana well of course it's all thanks to Vermeil but it's his power that was amplified! Guess we will know this in the next season! Farther more in that battle where he fought Iolite he overheated himself even Vermeil was shocked to know that it's his mana...! Now this is of course a speculation but got to say the story was beautiful! A tragic past a great story no plot twis…

"VERMEIL IN GOLD" Genre- Shounen, Ecchi, Comedy, School, Magic, Supernatural, Fantasy. In terms of existence and the kinds of entities that are out there, you can say that demons rank as the most fearful. And when 'Alto Goldfield summons Vermeil, the most powerful demon out there, you can be sure that things are going to take a turn. With high dreams of becoming the most powerful mage in the world, Alto gets on with his journey of becoming a Platinum Square after summoning Vermeil as his familiar. The main plot of the anime remains pretty basic right from the start, where we have an MC who is pretty bad at practical magic and summoning, but after encountering a book in the library, and summoning Vermeil, he suddenly awakens a power that makes him the strongest. With high goals and him b…

Overall this is a highly generic show with uninteresting story and a little bit of ecchiness. (Mostly kissing) This show doesn't deserve anyone's time and effort in any possible ways. Firstly if you wanna enjoy some good fantasy with an interesting story line and well-written characters, Vermeil fails horribly at both of them. Its story is nothing unique just a secretly op magic student summoning a demon servant, then they defeat bad guys who are doing bad things for usual reasons like bullying the other students because of their ego, wanting to get stronger or destroying the earth. Classic anime villain stereotypes. Events are far from interesting and extremely cliche. So much so that you can predict almost everything before it happens. If we look at the worldbuilding and how magic syste…

People say that vermeil is a demon she should be bad...I will say that person is a demon who is saying this. because in the anime we know that why vermeil was a demon in the first place and how though it was for her, so don't try to make sense out of a anime because it's a anime it's just for fun and for us to enjoy it's not real life...what can i say too many immature kids are watching anime A good echii, harem anime with a amazing story and plot what more do i need from this anime Really like the female protagonist vermeil she is really pretty and the thing that make me like this anime is that even though it's a echii anime it still have a amazing story and after every episode i was getting excited to watch more of this anime really like the animation and the characters design One of my…

If you're here for anything other than fanservice, you'll be incredibly disappointed. Also, the fanservice is PG-13, so even if you're here for that, you'll still be somewhat disappointed. Story: Not good. It's not super surprising for an ecchi to have a mediocre story, but nearly the entire storyline feels like they stole the story arcs from filler episodes of much better shows. It's a magic story where the author completely forgot to explain how magic works, thus every major event and fight feel completely meaningless. MC wants to be the best, like no one ever was, but no one can tell exactly what being the best means. There's a ranking system, which is never truly explained, yet even the highest ranks are meaningless against plot armor, so they feel completely pointless. Finally, th…

I'm surprised at the low reviews for this anime actually. Though I do notice that ALMOST all of the negative reviews are based at the episode 3 mark, when if you were here for plot, it hasn't really happened yet, and if you were here for hyper-explicit-fan-service you've been disappointed by the "tasteful fan service". So I'm guessing those here to get their rocks off are annoyed. The other negative stuff all seems to be at the episode 6 mark where they are disappointed by an instinctive move on the part of a character. Because in their mind someone who can study and get good marks never moved without thinking everything through for 5 minutes in their life. (TLDR: Some reviewers are idiots). It looks on the surface like low-rent ecchi anime that's just there for the fan service, and the f…

Overall, this show feels just like one of those classic magic high school battle-harem anime that were incredibly common back in the day, until isekai harems took their place. If you're hungry for ecchi, then yep, it definitely delivers on the whole"big tiddy succubus mommy-GF" with decent animation budget. However, it REALLY is a bag full of old cliches with not that much substance to it, which again, feels like an anime from like 2013-2016 or so. Even so, it's still not quite as attention grabbing as some of the better classics of the genre; there's just not enough plot happening. The only real twist, if you could call it that, is that it's not really a harem, even though there's a tsundere childhood friend-chan right there; the MC really just sticks with his big succ. All in all, th…

From the very first episode of Vermeil, I was hooked. A magical academy setting, a mommy dom waifu and a Mili ED? Can’t ask for much more out of the fantasy genre. While it may not be innovative, it’s a very fun dark fantasy show that I had a blast watching every Tuesday and I hope we’ll see more of it some day. While waifus are a big part of the show, what I liked most was the mystery and world building. This is a surprisingly well-written series that keeps you coming back for answers to cliffhangers or teases. I particularly enjoyed the gradual build up to and reveal of Vermeil’s backstory as well as the student council’s politics behind the scenes. Alto, the MC, started out as really annoying and bland to me. I hate MCs that act like they’re afraid of women and get nosebleeds, etc. etc…

Kinsou no Vermeil a.k.a Vermeil in Gold's the spiritual sequel to Zero no Tsukaima...and truthfully, I would rather just re-watch the former series all over again than hobble over this decent-to-good show, because it's playing with my feelings like a boobs see-saw as the fulcrum. I have a very heavy bias for (Rest In Peace) Noboru Yamaguchi's Zero no Tsukaima a.k.a The Familiar of Zero. Heck, this was the very first anime I've ever watched back in my teenage years of adolescence, and still to this day it's immense classic nostalgia even after a decade and years to come. The reason why I say this is because mangaka Kouta Amana's work is just an exact copy of it, save for the gender swap where the male becomes the master, and the female becomes the familiar that's summoned from wherever the…

Like many of the degenerates reading this review, I saw an Ecchi tag slapped onto the poster of a demon succubus lady and went straight in for the fun times. While I won’t lie to you and pretend this show is not filled with pointless fan service, let’s be real with ourselves, the fan service is the only thing stopping this show from getting dropped by every anime enjoyer. And although I didn’t feel the need to wipe my memory after finishing the season, let’s dive into how incredibly lazy writing makes this show completely forgettable. VERMEIL AND ALTO - Even while ignoring the creepy age gap, there’s still a lot wrong with these 2 characters. It’s pretty clear that the meat on the bones of the show come from our 2 main characters, Vermeil the Demon and Alto Goldfield the Human. Vermeil…

6/10 Tropes + fanservice + decent animation are the only first thoughts that come to mind while thinking of this anime. Episode 1-3:- Fanservice and character introduction, FMC remains a mystery Episode 2-6:- More fanservice, side characters introduced and we find out MC is "Special" while he steamrolls the existing power system. we also have a Villian working in the shadows, Then he gets rekt and after this, we find out there is bigger fish than him. Episode 3-10:- ofc fanservice Antagonist working in the shadow (Again) then MC resolves to “Become stronger to protect my loved ones” oh god the cringe xD Episode 11-12:- Reveals and a final showdown that strengthens the bond of the characters I mean it's so formula based that, I can sum it up like this easily xD. Oh, and fanservice. Now, th…
