This show took an interesting idea & kicked it down a flight of stairs. Each time it hit its head on the way down it got slower & duller.
It should have followed the plot it started to follow but abandoned. It would have been an interesting, kinda funny, (maybe-romance?) story about a guy who’s given a second chance to become stronger than he was before he became undead, facing challenges b/c of his new appearance, fighting alongside a newbie girl adventurer w/ a chip on her shoulder (presumably). Pretty similar to a lotta other shows, but the undead thing was interesting & it coulda been entertaining.
Instead it turned into a mid story about an already overpowered low-rank guy talking over mundane crap with his researcher friend as he does side quests. It became as derivative as it coul…

This one was very good. The premise is nice were the mc has to struggle to fit in. While the mc is a bit flat in terms of being a classic hero. The story relationships and power progression more than make up for it. The action scenes are nice and the animation is as well. It has some slice of life elements without completely dragging out the story. Also there is power progression but the mc doesnt become a litteral god by episode 2 wich is always a plus. Overall I think most people would enjoy this anime and id recommend it.

Isekai slop to watch if you're a half-hearted ghoul.
Mc dies and reincarnates as a skeleton. Initially it's lighthearted and tasteful with the plot moving along quickly.
The animation is standard, never offensively bad and certainly entertaining to watch. The CGI is well-done and properly integrated so it is only rarely (perhaps in one or two scenes) a little jarring.
Towards the second half of the season, the show loses the charm that made the first half so special. The show becomes generic, and, without the support of epic animations, a generic plot can not stand.
It is not offensively bad, and the Isekai format is especially appealing to sensitive and passionate overweight-men like myself.
So, I say The Unwanted Undead Adventurer is not-ghoulish-enough/10.

I ain’t know what to expect going into this anime, but it turned out way better than I thought. Nothing about it jumps out at first glance, yet somehow it’s still fire. The story just felt fresh and different to me — I honestly never seen an anime like this before.
Me personally, I’m a gamer, and if you’re heavy into video games, this anime gonna click for you. It really felt like a video game brought to life, almost like an RPG. Everything the main character was doing? That’s exactly what I wanted him to do.
This ain’t no lighthearted, “power of friendship” type anime either. It keeps you guessing and makes you wanna binge it. You constantly thinking, “Aight, what he about to do next?” — and that’s without me spoiling anything.
The music didn’t really stand out. The figh…

Finally, a work that doesn't pretend to be the best anime ever made.
It's essentially a fantasy Slice of Life, with good characterization and a linear, yet more than enjoyable, character development (no pathetic protagonist suddenly getting a power-up).
It has a good visual impact, more than decent animation, a few missing points here and there , and even some original and interesting points.
Even qualitatively excellent anime often struggle to keep me watching without interruptions. This is usually because works with high expectations and claims often fail to be 100% continuously engaging. The Unwanted Undead Adventurer however, manages to make you interested in its world, its characters, and the protagonist's thoughts.
It's a little gem that you won't regret starting and leaves you s…

People don't watch it because of the many negative reviews, and many stop watching it because they expect it to be just another ordinary anime about a man turning into a skeleton or monster, etc.
But this show doesn’t stop there. While much anime about a man turning into a monster focus on them never being able to return to human form, this anime tells the story of a man trying to reclaim his humanity.
We don’t see a stupidly overpowered protagonist becoming a god within 1-2 episodes. This show has real progress to tell, showing the struggle from zero to hero (and even by the finale, the main character is still not strong enough, which leaves room for a much-needed season 2).
When you watch this, you're watching a slice-of-life isekai story. The progression might feel slow because it ca…

If you are looking for a dead man turned into a skeleton then this is the right anime for you.
I swear i’ve read the manga version a few years ago and im surprised it comes from a light novel
The story is kinda unique since its rare for an mc turned into a skeleton then turned into something more than a skeleton( i havent watch any skeleton anime besides Overlord so forgive me)
I like the art style, my eyes likes it and it fits with the story so far
anyways, im glad i get to watch this and cant wait for season 2, definitely 9/10 cuz of the ‘Plot’

Started out semi-interesting, but then the pacing took a nose dive and just became kind of a chore to get through after that. The action is pretty basic, the level detail in the characters and backgrounds too. The characters are lacking and so it the depth of the story. At least it had the common sense not to make it an isekai for no reason like every other anime of this genre. The pacing was insufferable after the first few episodes and really never recovered. The voice acting was pretty mid, not the worst, but really not very moving. The soundtrack was fine, but the scenes the tracks were used for were ill fitting and overall a bit cheesy. The op was alright, and I thought the ed was pretty good. Overall, I was a little disappointed by it all around. Immediately it was apparent that the…

Just came here to laugh at all the reviews talking about the anime feeling like a filler arc. People who complain about "filler arcs" in a show that isn't shonen to begin with should probably stop watching trash and fix their taste in shows.
This is a proper fantasy anime that tells its own story. It doesn't care about shoveling action down your gullet in order to cater to the people who can't watch a tiktok without Subway Surfer on below it. It focuses on the story and characters. It has some action, but only as much as needed for the story. The characters act like actual people and not cardboard cutouts being used to push along someone's revenge fantasy.

The show's pretty rock solid. It sorta gives off "We have Frieren at home" vibes. It's a degree of quality higher than the typical seasonal production, and each episode is good. It's a traditional adventure story rather than an action or comedy, with the character growing over time. He's very likable and it's easy to care about his progress and goals. There is an actual story being told, which is more than welcome in the realm of crystallized isekai worlds. Additionally, it feels like the characters were written for adults. They behave maturely and don't act like complete morons, which is a breath of fresh air.
My biggest complaint would be that we don't feel the consequences of his undead nature severely enough. Despite the excellent premise, you can get a few minutes into an episode and…

This anime might be one of the greatest dark horses of the year, it is a incredible fantasy the likes of which i havent seen since danmachi, and arguably even better than it. If you like all things fantasy, this is for you.
Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha follows the story of rennt and his journey to become a mythril class adventure. If youve already read the synopsis though you already know this of course, however where this show excels is the fact that it is ACTUALLY dedicated to following that goal. where many isekai and adventure shows will put that goal to the side, in this it is right front and center! no useless harms that you dont care about, just pure adventure and growth from a compelling main character and a strong supporting cast.
If you like to see a character grow and actually…

The premise is good, but the execution here is disappointing. An adventurer becomes an undead monster and has to figure out how to adapt. Nice idea, and lots of potential for interesting moments and development, but the show does little with it. The main character has no personality, and is painfully boring. Typical "clueless MC" type hero. The side characters are not any more interesting or with much more personality. MC is seemingly unaffected by his condition, going about his same life as before, except with more clothes to cover his body, and more strength to do his adventurer tasks.
Not recommended unless you want a very plain show to watch to balance out something else more stimulating.

I really enjoyed this show, but it's worth noting going in that it's not got a set plot, to speak of. It's more of a slice of life with earnest storytelling, well told. As I say I enjoyed it for what it was but if you need a set plot and arc this probably isn't for you.
For what it's worth the characters are excellent and well rounded, though the show centrally revolves around the protagonist and his adventures/internal dialogue.
This is a serious show with good writing and storytelling that kept me absorbed. I appreciated the slice-of-life drama style too.

Unwanted Undead is a very solid fantasy adventure that leans more into the adventuring slice of life, rather than any epic storylines. It does what it set out to do rather well and is enjoyable through-out.
Animation / Art / General Visuals - 7/10
-----------------------------------------------
The art is clean and detailed, and animations decent. The show does seem to have moments where they've decided against including scenes completely rather than spend effort trying to animate them. As such there aren't any spectacular battle scenes, though what we get is good enough.
Sound / Music / Voice Acting - 7/10 ------------------------------------------
Pleasing OP's and ED's, with some decent music within. Nothing overly noteworthy. Sound and voice acting is solid.
Story - 8/10

Unwanted Undead Adventurer is another fantasy adaptation that doesn't have an obnoxiously long name and dwells around the familiar aspects of many light novel adaptations. It's neither something where the anime is a pile of garbage that should never be made nor the adaptation that deserves some form of applause. What this anime has managed to achieve is the mere average of what you should expect in your weekly seasonal anime. The anime plays it safe with your dose of fanservice, and decent character growth. By that, I mean flaunting the main character's only personality with any random character the anime decides to show for the sake of the plot, etc. This is my review of UUD.
First and foremost, the Good:
It starts with a very familiar plot point that usually happens in Isekai fantasies…

Whoa! A pleasant surprise. A fantasy anime that is well paced, has a pretty interesting story where I wasn't able to always guess what's gonna happen next, and a really well done presentation of it. A slowish like one, but it felt perfect for this kinda of anime. The vibe, mood, the MC, the other characters, all blended together to make something that felt always short when it came to episodes, even though I binged watch it... I could only imagine the pain of waiting a week for the next episode. This left me smiling and wanting for a next season!
Story: 9
At first I thought it would be another basic fantasy anime with some unique twist here and there, but it wasn't. The premise is pretty interesting, uncommon I would say, at least to me, and the execution is what made me fall a bit in lo…

I’ll keep this short:
The best part of the this show is the first four episodes. It’s actually pretty interesting, the art is well done, and there’s some creative concepts that haven’t really been touched by any other fantasy.
After that though, it becomes insanely boring and filler. You can’t have a show where the premise is based on a unique set of circumstances that the MC has to deal with then completely dissolve any tensions or plot elements around them by the fourth episode. Every single episode after this point becomes the most generic and more importantly boring Isekai slop.
Enjoy the first four or five episodes then drop this.

Story & Plot: 7/10
The story is arguably slow, the first few episode was amazing where the story developed, while in the middle it starts to falter and continue with what feels like fillers episode with minimal to no developement in the plot. some episode felt really dragged out. depsite all this the story that is trying to discover the theme of humanity in a setting where you are reincarnated as a monster is really refreshing, it strays far away from your normal undead isekai/fantasy show where they just dont bother addressing this part. i just hope if this has a chance for season 2 it will develope the plot a little bit more and maybe move the pacing up alittle bit.
World Building: 6/10
Not much to say about the world and settings. not much was revealed aside from your usual isekai/fan…

This is technically a calming slice of life type action fantasy anime.
The character and surrounding people are developed well. There are fights at intervals.
The concept is familiar yet unique.
The screenplay has some depth and it keeps you interested.
Watch it when you want a chill anime.
Adventuring and its risks are well explained.
One good part - No extremely annoying character which has now become a common trait.
This makes the anime so peaceful. This is a good anime. Neither great nor bad. Just enough to make you enjoy but neither adrenaline raising nor trashy nor slow.
Just decent..

Great premise and huge potential for a great story that quickly turns into garbage writing and kids show.
It had a good base recipe for an interesting story:
A good, hardworking, likeable adventurer who, despite all of his effort, cannot move past the limitations of his body. gets killed and finds himself to become a monster while retaining seemingly intact consciousness, personality, and memories. All while having a mad scolar/mage/love interest who is willing to hide and help him stay human on the inside.
It had no isekai BS, no harem. No stupid, silly jokes, and good art to boot.
It explores the themes of : The meaning of humanity, Struggle with his growing monster urges, Getting stronger, and overcoming the limitations of his human past self, Exploring fantasy world full of guilds…
