Introduction
Ron Kamonohashi, the best student in the history of the elite Detective Training Academy BLUE, has been living as a recluse since BLUE expelled him five years ago. Moreover, he is forbidden to work as a detective, having barely escaped execution after getting involved in a murder case while he was still attending the school. Ron's situation changes drastically when police detective Totomaru Isshiki, following the advice of a senior colleague, seeks him out for help with a criminal case that has remained unsolved for months. Ron reluctantly agrees to help Totomaru and uses his phenomenal intuition to discover the culprit in less than a day. However, it appears that Ron suffers from a mysterious condition that can cause those around him to lose their lives. To Ron's great surprise, Totomaru manages to save the life of someone whom Ron put in jeopardy.
As the unlikely duo starts solving crimes one after another, BLUE sends operatives after its former student to find out if he has resumed investigative work. Fighting against murderers, rogue detectives, and the Metropolitan Police Department, Ron and Totomaru must join forces if they want to survive and see justice prevail.

as a liker of mysteries and whodunits, this show quickly caught my interest and i finished it in a few days. lots of episodes were multipart, so i didn't want to pause on a cliffhanger. i really enjoyed the episodic feel despite there also being an overarching plot. i probably would have given this anime a higher rating if it had better animation, to be honest. the manga looks really pretty, so i'll probably check it out. ron is the kind of character i always am intrigued by because he's cocky and kind of an asshole, but still "human" enough to be relatable. many of the episodes are very obviously inspired by sherlock holmes and agatha christie mysteries, which i enjoy. the sherlockian stuff is extra obvious as you get further into the show, lol. i won't spoil anything specific.
i will s…

I just finished watching the first season of Kamonohashi Ron no Kinda Suiri and I recommend it for anyone that likes the detective genre.
While this show isn't perfect, it has many qualities and I'll try to point them out in this review, without spoiling anything.
The pros :
+ The investigations are interesting, and that's very important for a detective show. They aren't exactly meant to be solvable by the viewers, but the detectives will solve them by paying close attention to details in a believable way.
+ The character design is neat and the side characters are funny and rather inspired. + The visuals are good looking, there's a lot of different landscapes, nice colorimetry aswell.
+ Some plot elements to make this show feel unique make us want to learn more about the story.…

okay first off, this is not a typical mystery series because -im pretty sure- this is all about characters relationships and their subtle impact within their daily lives, at least all of part 1. so if youre looking for realistic plot devices in crime scenes this is probably not your thing (i mean, ron uses something like hypnosis on ep1, what impression does this give you?)
narrative isnt that good (plot holes and unreasonable approaches happen often), animation is absurdly fine for it, voice acting is amazing, music is good.
-the strong points are character growth, character relationships, character design and script (character and pacing wise), the OP and ED are quite unique for the animes simplicity at first sight.
-the weak points are the use of plot devices (theyre awkward), the fac…

Is a series about this pair isshiki totomaru and kamonohashi ron who goes resolving different murder cases along the series with the last one doing most of the work and leaving totomaru as a comedy relief and like a counterpart persona wise to balance the chemistry between these two.
With a format of being episodic most of the cases are solved on a single episode (leaving some exceptions to the rule) , most of them are kinda mediocre because the actual solving part and the whole thing revolving about the case just happen on the last 10 minutes being the first half just pure comedy making this series as a whole 50% mistery and 50% pure comedy, that together with just trying to encompass everything on mere 20 minutes makes for simple and rather forgetabble episodes.
As you are moving forwa…

This is a good anime but...
The anime itself its quite relaxing. Its a show that you can watch one episode and leave it and Come back a couple of days and continue, or have in the background while doing something Else. Its not super exciting that it draggs you in, and you feel like you gotta watch the whole anime within one day, but its interesting enough that you somewhat want to continue watching.
Its like pokemon where each episode have one spesial happening in the episode and then the continueation of his life/Journey goes on.
I feel the backstory of Ron is the main focus here, which in the end of this season is really leading up to us getting this explained In the next season. If this make sense tho...
Also very confused about why they introdusert a character early on, made a de…

I think this'll be the shortest review I've written. Therefore, "Kamonohashi Ron no Kindan Suiri". If I consider this as a comedy and detective - it was quite good, I laughed a lot and tried to guess the mysteries with them (sometimes even simultaneously guessed which imo is not an advantage for the series of this genre). The art is beautiful (I'm just a fan of handsome feminine men and bossy women). The OST is good. And the plot smoothly adds some main mysteries we still have to solve in the season 2.
However, was it worthy of my time? Not sure.
Would I recommend you to watch it? 2 options:
1) yes, if you're looking for something simple and enjoyable to some extent
2) no in all other cases.
You get to choose.

Promising Detective Anime
Looks good the synopsis. Always enjoy detective or cop anime where slice of life and comedy mixed well. Hope this is the case too.
Another good thing about this cop or crime anime is the cases being showcased in the series. This breaks the monotonous feel of the series. The only thing constant is the development of the partnership plus a few supporting characters namely the chief of the investigation section 1.
By the end of the series, you most likely would like to have another series to see how the partnership went. And hopefully the studio will grant that wish.

Genre - Mystery, Comedy
This is a generic detective series where a duo consisting of MC who is genius eccentric detective and a helpful kind average supporting character solve mysteries.
The humor is what makes it a 7.
The mysteries are decent and are solved in generally 1-3 episodes.
There is a backstory that goes on in the background.
The backstory grows and will become the main story for S2 second half (or S3 if it goes that far).
The characters have weight and importantly consistency. They don't change nature as plot demands.
The pace may seem uneven at times during any mystery.
Characters - 8/10
Writing - 7/10 Direction - 6.5/10
Animation - 6.5/10
Overall - 7/10
Overall a decent watch in the mystery genre which can be watched at own pace instead of binge watching in one or two sittin…

It was fine, but really not that good.
I've always loved watching sleuth related animes / dramas, but this really wasn't done that well. While I often turn my brain off watching detective things so I can fully enjoy them cracking the cases, this anime didn't give me any thrill. I was basically able to guess all the culprits way ahead of time, and there was no interesting plot twist, until a certain one that had completely no foreshadowing.
While Ron is probably supposed to be somewhat eccentric and funny, I thought he was mainly just incredibly weird. For Toto, I had hope that he would grow into his own as a detective, but either there was not enough time in 13eps for him to do that under Ron's shadow, or he was never destined for character development.
The cases were nearly all 1 epis…

Not very sure how I feel about this piece, it establishes itself in the detective genre but how the main characters solve the crimes is sometimes far-fetched and questionable (fairly predictable I would say). Some of the plot feels very forced as well, just written up to advance the story/make the characters more legit..etc. However the show is fairly entertaining and has a good pace. It does incorportate some sort of a semi 'supernatural' element towards to the end with the underlying storyline. Not sure where they are heading with that but looking forward to see if they come out with another season.

It was a good anime, however, can't really tell you "yea, it was amazing, dig in and you will enjoy it!". In fact anime has its positive parts but also some mistakes and cliché.
First, there is some connection towards one of the famous detectives and stories from the books. I get the idea of the story and author who tried to build upon that, but I personally didn't find it fascinating. More like I had "what? why?" moment when there started being some hints around it. As it really didn't develop story any further and it's more likely just some base concept to build on. Which is a pitty, because even without that it could be a very solid anime.
Second, it lacks of some funny moments. There are a few of them, not enough yet... Despite being a detective story, you still should have some leve…

Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions is pretty fun. I don’t have too much to say about this season other than it’s a fun buddy cop mystery anime. The dynamic between Totomaru Isshiki and Ron Kamonohashi is a lot of fun to watch and the mysteries that these two solve are engaging and always keep me invested every week. I really like how each new mystery in this season introduces an entirely new set of side characters which helps keep the interactions between the two main characters and the rest of the supporting cast fresh and exciting. This anime also introduces an overarching plotline involving some secret organizations and all of this ties into the titular character’s special abilities as well as his backstory, and I’m really invested in it. I assume the second season will focus more o…

As a detective show, this is pretty decent. It doesn't have the kind of swagger that Undead Girl Murder Farce did, and while neither show makes it particularly easy for the audience to figure out what happened (I'd say it's pretty close to impossible in both cases), this one just didn't feel like it had the strong wrap-ups to each of its cases that that one did. It also doesn't have the character-driven emotional elements that make the mysteries of The Apothecary Diaries so enthralling. I hate to compare this anime to other mystery shows, but it's just missing something to separate itself from the pack even when its mysteries come together in interesting fashion.
So, why did I keep watching? Two reasons: the pair of leads that headline this series, and the mysterious supernatural element…

Ron Kamonohashi's Forbidden Deduction - To go from one of the most classic franchises to a tongue-in-cheek series that is a precursor to this show, I'm really left with this thought in my mind: does the author REALLY know how to make Shonen works stand the test of time?
To the classic AniManga connoisseurs, I'm pretty sure that the name of Akira Amano is no stranger to you. The female mangaka best known for her series Katekyou Hitman Reborn!, which was featured in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump as one of the top guns alongside the Big 3 at the time, is now, over 20 years later, a franchise that I can recommend to anyone wanting to experience a true and pure classic Shonen series. But her later series of the sci-fi adventure ēlDLIVE which (for some reason) was also serialized in the same pu…
