I honestly adored this anime. It's more medically accurate than I expected, and as a 3rd year medical student, I really like watching medical stuff. Also, dr. Ameku is very autistic-coded, and as an autistic person, I adore that fact. She's a flawed character, she shows an inflated ego, she has many quirks, she's very determined, and I like that she isn't a perfect protagonist. We also get to see more of her sensitive side in the episodes in the pediatric ward, and it shows a lot about her motivations and her soft, caring heart. I also love that there's this mystery aspect in finding out the diagnoses and the circumstances of each case, I tried to play along and put together the pieces to figure it out!!
I think there's people that won't quite like this anime, but to me, it has become one…

this show is interesting i don't particularly love it, in general it feels more like Japanese medical scooby doo than house md but realistically it neither. talking generally its animation is OK to bad but the style is exceeding;y good when the effort is put in, sadly it suffers from lots of budget saving regulars (long sweeping shots, repeated frames,ect) while usually i don't tend to criticize this due to it being a budgeting issue i do criticize their choice of spreading the budget is as the op and eD are genuinely some of the best i`ve ever seen (so good its my pfp :3). the background music is good, sometimes forgettable but it always fits snug.

I enjoyed this anime more than I'd expected. I'm not a fan of detective stories, and, as a physician myself, I approach any medical fiction with caution since they often contain terrible mistakes etc. However, as I give lectures about how medical staff is portrayed in manga & anime, I had to watch "Ameku Takao" too.
I'm extremely satisfied with how the medical stuff is showed in Ameku. It's simply reliable, starting from proper CPR tempo. It also gives us some view on the personalities and simply lives of people who work in health care: we see that they are humans, too, and suffer, struggle, despair. This anime lacks direction. Its house meets CSI meets ancient aliens. Also the main character beyond arrogant, narcissist, and infuriating. She has no regard for her actions and the consequences that it might generate, she pretty much insufferable as possible. she nor the rest of the characters exhibit any sort of growth. For example, the main character is said to look like a child but gets irritated when she's reminded of that, however the way she acts never dissuade you of that notion. JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE IS A GENIUS DOES NOT MAKE THEM ALL KNOWING. They should have just kept it to a medical anime.

I think this anime was solid and was an interesting mystery anime. I would have given 8 if they didn't mess up their animation that terribly. This is a mystery anime and doesn't require high-quality animation but they have to put some effort into drawing. The character looked like some amateur artist drew. The animation was so bad I had a hard time focusing on the actual story and mystery. This anime was cool by mixing medical science and murder mystery and I would recommend it for people who like mystery. But this poor-quality animation gets to a point where you can't focus. If you are capable of not getting distracted by the poor animation, I think it is a decent anime to watch.

As much as I wanted to like the premise it just failed to deliver what I believe it was going for, usually you would get a few hints here and there and figure out what might have happened, which is the fun part of medical dramas, but it just failed to keep a hold on that concept, you would get the mystery part, then Ameku has a Jimmy Neutron brain blast moment and she explaining everything by getting the gang together like it's some face reveal from Scooby Doo. To be fair it had it's moments like the museum dinosaur episode and..... the.... human combustion episode "insert Fire Force intro here", but outside of that since I don't know about any other anime that's in this genre it was cute.

The amount of hate this series is getting is frankly quite baffling, this is a good series for viewers that want intelligent content and proper story writing. Ameku Takao no Suiri Karte is actually a pretty underrated mix of mystery and medical drama. It follows Dr. Ameku, an intelligent but eccentric doctor who solves strange medical cases. Think of it like a mix between Sherlock and Dr. House—cold, blunt, but insanely sharp.
Each case is short and easy to get into, with just the right amount of medical details. It helps that the author has a medical doctorate/practicising doctor, so the medical stuff checks out.

Recommended: For a specific audience looking for something to pass the time and not demanding, as it's about medical mysteries and their resolution; not a deep series with characters who show personal growth and a deep backstory. It also lacks very polished animation.
As we know, the loli Doctor Takao Ameku is in charge of the Investigative Pathology Department. People with ambiguous illnesses are brought to her ward, or she herself gets involved in police investigations, along with her sole resident Yuu "Kotori" Takanashi (or Little Bird), because in her words: "it's more interesting to uncover medical mysteries."
"I'm a genius and I would never make a mistake in a diagnosis."
In other words: it's the Doctor House of anime.

The whole plot feels a lot like House MD, but instead of an old grumpy man, we get an arrogant, tiny anime girl! I haven’t watched much of House MD, but this anime is mostly focused on murder mysteries. As someone who is somewhat well-versed in human physiology and medicine, I found it fairly enjoyable. I liked trying to figure out the mysteries and the crazy situations using only the limited information provided.
I also love Takao’s character design. However, I feel like in some cases, the show deliberately hides key information or gives misleading clues, making it impossible to figure out what’s going on before Takao reveals it. __Background on me__
In a vacuum, Dr. Ameku ticks so many of my boxes for my personal interests. The medical aspect is super engaging for me as someone who is a former pre-med and is still working in biomedical science. As well I love detective stories and try to watch all that release each season. Needless to say, I really wanted Dr. Ameku to be great but I think it falls short of that as I’ll lay out in this review.

First off, the story is super rushed and have almost no build-up for most of it's case. It is about a director from a crime medical department that is in charge to investigate the deceased victims body on how they got murdered. When their is a case, most of the story within that case is always briefly explained at the start and the type of story telling that the director wants to express is always trying to save the best for the last part. Ameku M.D is Sherlock Holmes + House combined into a singular, tsundere anime girl. The premise is simple: a genius doctor investigates and solves unsolvable forensic mysteries. Most of the time, these kinds of shows falter because the writers, being human after all, aren't at the same level as the geniuses they're trying to depict. While there's still a little bit of that in here, Dr. Takao is actually pretty well written. Everything she says sounds far-fetched, until you look it up and it actually is the case.

I found out about this show when someone mentioned an anime Dr. House, and the show definitely lived up to that description and surpassed my expectations based on it. I liked that it was less cynical than it could have been and that the mysteries were interesting. That said, I think that there was a genericness to it that prevented it from being an 8/10 for me even though I did enjoy it especially for the characters.
If you enjoy detective shows and don't mind medical shows, then you'll enjoy this anime. If you do not enjoy depictions of immolation, watching people die, and medical procedures, then this is an anime to skip.

If you want an anime that will be looked at as an underrated gem, may not get a lot of talk, or overall an anime that you would recommend to someone for a first time or just out of your love for this anime. Amaeku Takao is the one for you to recommend to others. This is an anime that really did a great job of having some two partners for a twelve episodes run. I find it really well executed and at times wished more animes would take this two part route with certain aspects. It did not feel rushed, did not interject the main characters having love interests, nor did it have to delve into comedy to make it suffer as well. I overall found that the tone for this anime was set pretty early, with a serious main character who while she seems perfect had her flaws and that was well done.

Hey, it’s House M.D. with a loli in the lead role. Sure it was kind of derivative, but a medical mystery anime isn’t terribly common. Of course, one of the few examples just so happened to be airing this season in The Apothecary Diaries, a series that already had a lot of steam going with substantial worldbuilding and a palace intrigue plot to boot. However, I’m not here to compare. What makes this series special?
It features a lot of modern medicine and remains relatively realistic throughout. I say “relatively” because the first case involves a man with blue blood having his leg bitten off by a Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton and a later one involves spontaneous combustion, but most of the mysteries in here are more grounded. We have been eating so good recently with detective series. Ameku MD has to be near the top of the bunch for me. If you’ve ever imagined what Maomao from Apothecary Diaries would be like in a present day setting or what House from Fox back in the day would be like as an anime, this is the show for you. It’s got some of the best mystery, twists and is actually a fairly accurate series in terms of medical knowledge. I was both educated on the workings of the human body and extremely entertained while watching this show+Takao has to be one of my fave recent protagonists. It’s a must watch for any mystery fan or anyone who likes cool ass female leads!
