Parallel World Pharmacy

Parallel World Pharmacy

Introduction

World-class medical researcher Kanji Yakutani lost his little sister to a tumor years ago due to ineffective treatment. To honor her legacy, he has dedicated his research to developing new medications for such conditions. But as fate would have it, he overworks himself and passes away at the age of 31, only to be given a second chance at life in another world. When he wakes up, Kanji finds himself in the body of a 10-year-old boy named Falma de Médicis, the son of an esteemed family of medical practitioners in the Sain Fleuve Empire. Bearing the mark of a deity's divine blessing, Falma is capable of performing a unique divine art, allowing him to create and reduce any substance with the knowledge of its chemical properties. After reading through some pharmacology books, Falma realizes that this world is operating on similar medical practices as in ancient times. He also learns that medicine is an exclusive privilege to the nobility, depriving commoners of proper medical care. Using the knowledge from his past life and the divine abilities granted to him, Falma resolves to make medicine available to those who need it—irrespective of class. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Parallel world pharmacy is an isekai powerfantasy with a focus on healthcare. The setting seems to be renaissance Europe with elements from France, England, the Netherlands, and a religious organisation reminiscent of the papal states. The story is obviously about a person being reincarnated in a parallel world and starting a pharmacy there but the pharmacy takes a back seat for around half the anime while other, mostly healthcare related, events take place. The story was passable but it wasn't too interesting because any time a problem popped up it was solved almost instantly. Almost all of the medical information in the anime seemed accurate with the only exception I could find being the main character contradicting himself on the feasibility of using Tuberculosis as a biological weapo…

Parallel World Pharmacy is a very charming and refreshing isekai. What I really liked is that every character feels important and enjoyable, not just background fillers. The story takes a different route from typical isekai by focusing on medicine, knowledge, and saving lives instead of pure action. Yes, as a manga reader, it’s noticeable that many scenes and details were removed or simplified in the anime, which is a bit disappointing. Still, the adaptation keeps the core idea and soul of the story intact, making it easy and pleasant to watch. Overall, despite the cuts, this anime stands as another kind of masterpiece in the isekai genre—calm, unique, and meaningful. Definitely worth watching if you want something different from the usual isekai formula.

A lot of negative revies of this show seems like they did not actually paid attention to it. its not perfect but its not as bad as people make it out to be. The show is a bit too positive for a story that tackles life and death, but at least its not something that trivializes the lethality of actual lethal diseases. The MC is overpowered yes and i feel like he only abused 1 aspect of his abilities, the rest where used sparingly. People might think his power up at the end came out of nowhere but in reality it has been foreshadowed in earlier episodes.

The concept could have been something really special, but it was very poorly executed. I don't even know where to begin. 1. The protagonist was placed on a conveyer belt where everything was handed to him. He didn't have to struggle or even work for it. 2. Magic eyes and hands - it is like hero being handed a laser guided nuclear missile to find and kill the villain. This exactly here is what really makes for an interesting show to watch right (hero clicking a single button) 3. The show did not introduce a single new disease for the protagonist to tackle. Everything disease introduced was already known and had a drug to treat it. Exciting. 4. For someone who wants to make the world a better place, one would open a college to share his knowledge, not a pharmacy which undercuts the e…

Wholesome. Very well animated. Good voice acting. Excellent character and world building. Even the story was actually pretty good, even though it's entirely focused on pharmaceuticals. It's not dependent on plot holes or implausibly stupid or evil people. It's not full of action, or a enthralling, twisting plot, but this is an anime that knows exactly what it wants to be and executes very well. I really didn't expect much from this, from the description i thought it was going to be a cheap isekai cash grab, but I'm very pleasantly surprised to give this an 8/10, it earns it. I recommend this anime.

This is one of those anime that you're watching- and all of the sudden it's already episode 6. But of course I'm a bit bias since I've been in the medicine industry for over 10 years. Oh, and I love isekai. The story follows a overly devoted pharmacist name Kanji who dies (from over exhaustion I guess) and is isekai into a 10 year old child name Falma. Using his knowledge and insane OP abilities, Falma is dedicating his new life to improving the world through medicine. So why do I rate it an 8? Well- it is a bit "different" from your typical isekai in that there's no demon lord to defeat. Instead, Falma fights against diseases. What I really like is the show incorporating real actual medical practices into the show- like using a glass slide of a bacteria sample to determine the disease.…

Rarely do i have an opinion i deem worth writing, something that's shown by my basically non-existent presence in here. But this one really got me on the ropes . This piece of work here is easily the WORST isekai in existence at the moment, simply because it fails the very basis of an isekai. Usually even the sloppiest of the slop have at least some semi-decent world building. This anime however does not. Judging by the whole reincarnation of a literal god thing the MC has going on, this world is supposed to be high fantasy. But outside of the "divine arts" magic, this fantastic world is devoid of any actual fantasy. Barren even. And because of the setting chosen the very premise of the anime is a difficult exercise in subverting expectations. A high fantasy setting where nobody outside o…

Parallel World Pharmacy follows Kanji Yakutani, a modern-day pharmacologist who passes away from stress and overwork. Reborn in a fantasy world as Falma de Medicis, the second son of Bruno, a famous pharmacist, he decides to use his knowledge of modern pharmaceutical treatments to save the sick regardless of their social status or financial means. How does Falma's journey unfold? Story & Character: 6/10 The story starts with an intriguing premise of a child utilizing his modern pharmaceutical knowledge in a medieval fantasy setting. While initially inspiring, the narrative lacks significant conflict or resistance; society readily conforms to Falma's advancements, easily abandoning traditional folk medicine. The story peaks with a drawn-out, avoidable epidemic and a poorly articulated anta…

Early episodes were good. Unfortunately, the quality and pacing decreased as the show continued, leading to an ending which felt rushed and cliched. At the start, the show looked promising. It had good, correct scientific detail and an interesting premise. Although episode 1 felt quite exposition-heavy at first, it got up to speed and quickly became pretty fun. However, pacing became an issue later in the show. The final episodes introduced lots of things from nowhere, and the victory achieved felt hollow and unearned. Plot holes and underutilized character abilities also plagued this show, it felt like the characters had a worse memory of what their abilities were than I did as the viewer. Overall, I can't recommend this show. Although you may like the show initially, I don't think it'…

Overall: So, an overworked doctor ended up on the other world? Yes. As an isekai junkie, I am set to watch all isekai. This is one of those that explore the trope. I would say, it is one of the better one on the list, but the plot is relatively generic, there's no "wow" moment. Just a lot of things that are rather cliche. Bonus point as it reminds me of COVID. and are immersive in that aspect. Short conclusion: 7.5/10 Driving deeper Art: pretty good, it is probably on the higher end of the anime production. The effect are beautiful to some degree, however, not breathtaking. 8.5/10 Character: Honestly, I do think that the characters are pretty solid, they just need to take some more time to develop. Well, we have very little bit of that through. I only see bits of reasoning here and th…

TLDR: This is a generic and boring Isekai with annoying characters. This anime is so bad, Truck-kun couldn't be bothered and left the MC to work himself to death because the MC's little sister died. Boo-hoo. The MC was already a master in medicine and now, gets injected into so noble family's kid. Sucks to be the kid since his body got stolen. Other than now being rich, the MC has all his past life knowledge, gets amped with divine powers and solved the kingdom's problem, with cheap medicine in his drug store. God, I feel dumber from watching this. I would say this was meant for kids but there is a bit of violence in it. Maybe special need teen could watch this. I rather watch grass grow.

This will be very short. I recommend you to just watch episode 1 to episode 8. That is it, and you will have a good time with this anime. Those episodes, I can say they worth to watch. Characters connect to each other, and the story is very touching... only until the 8th episode. The reason is the 12th episode, which represents the result of the final arc, is totally horrible. Characters being fed to the OP characters, and there is nothing good from episode 9 to episode 12 to remember. The story goes downfall from there, and I regretted watching those episodes.

When I first heard about Parallel World Pharmacy, I didn't expect a whole lot. A show about a pharmacist? How do you make that interesting? Turns out, you insert magic, make the storyline about enemies of the state, and there you go! Story: Parallel World Pharmacy starts us out with Kanji Yakutani, a medical scientist who lost his sister to disease previously. He fully commits himself to the research and development of new medicines. And when I say fully, I mean it. He clearly doesn't eat or sleep properly, and when he finally finds time to catch a break, he passes away in his sleep, likely due to exhaustion. When Kanji awakens, he finds himself in a completely different time line, way before his old timeline, in a noble family. Now, in a young boy named Falma de Médicis, he decides to us…

This anime is close to greatness, it however falls short because it doesn't fully commit and decided to play it safe by adding more traditional isekai elements, but those elements end up detracting from, rather than enhancing the series. You've heard the refrain "All isekai is the same" we know it's not, but people say it anyway, usually to justify review-bombing. Isekai Yakkyoku is able to stand out because of how differently it handles the genre Man dies of overwork and is reincarnated into a new world - we've been here before MC is part of a rich aristocrat family - we've been here before MC is given OP magic powers - we've been here before MC quickly realises that he can use his medical and pharmaceutical knowledge to benefit the world and save lives - ah, this is new. The latter be…

This is yet another profession based isekai anime. If it wasn't clear by the title, it's about Pharmacology. The colorful style and smiling characters means it's also one of the mindless shows designed for children, devoid of any real suspense, plot, conflict, or grander design. If it wasn't for the stellar animation and some flashy spells, it would be ridiculously boring, all of which are wasted on a highly uneventful show. There is a random villain they throw in at the end so they can tick off that box, and he is immediately eliminated after a few lines. Otherwise, it's just smooth, perfect sailing for a former pharmacist who reincarnates into a medieval fantasy world and opens up a pharmacy to bring the world out of the dark ages. He has both wealth and status, born into a family of pre…

Dr Harry Potter and the Goblet of Antibiotics. Now wait a minute, hang on a second… You’re telling me that a good, well thought and written, slightly more original light novel isekai adaptation with a based premise came out this season and it’s called “Parallel World Pharmacy”? Well, sign me up nerds. Fully capable adult (rare for an isekai mc) and world-famous medical researcher Kanji works himself to an early grave trying to find the cure to a disease that claimed his little sister. Now reincarnated into the body of a post struck by lightning, the ten-year-old medieval noble boy called Falma, his goal now is to use his vast medical knowledge and his new family's medical dynasty connections to revolutionise this new world's healthcare and make it available plus affordable to the masses…

A very very mid isekai anime. Worse than the likes of Slime Isekai or Redo of Healer or any other generic isekai anime Animation is very generic, Protagonist has a generic shota design, none of the side characters are interesting and everything is purely the definition of bland. The protagonist has zero flaws whatsoever as his magical power basically forms any chemical known in existence and another magical power that lets him spot out any sickness. As he was already a famed chemist before he died, he has zero flaws and the series is just watching him cure people. The only thing interesting about the show are the chemistry formulations and the usage of medicine and such. tldr very generic, don't watch unless you're a chemist or need to pass your science exam

Pathology expert dies from overwork and gets isekaied into a magical world, where he becomes basically the god of medicine, creates drugs from thin air and identifies any illness just by looking at people and throwing random illness names, until he finds the correct one. Isn't a comedy, nor a deep complex or intriguing show, just weak, generic and superficial, to the point it doest even bother with exploring its own themes. I dont think you can even say that this explores the topic of medicine, from how dumbed down and shallow it depicts and approaches it, being summed into basically using some medical and pathology related names, and once and then mentioning a very basic summary of some illness story. But if you remove the doctor background, you get a generic isekai with an OP MC that so…

I’ve been waiting for a seasonal to scratch that Honzuki/bookworm itch and Isekai Yakkyou was that seasonal. If you like the concept of isekai, but don’t like how it focuses on the same tropes every time, you’ll enjoy this quite a bit. Getting isekai’d creates many opportunities for protagonists. Obviously, it’s an opportunity to start anew and fix the mistakes you made in your past life, but it also is an opportunity to bring knowledge from your world to a new one. Usually we see that in the form of video game mechanics or MCs making comments about anime/manga from back in Japan, but we don’t get enough shows that show MC’s bringing real practical skills to new worlds. In Honzuki it was book-making and in this it’s pharmaceutical knowledge. We’ve seen several attempts at this story in th…

AniManga fans: "I'm sick and tired of seeing the same Isekai tropes over and over again. It's time for a new property to stand out." Liz Takayama: "I hear you back there, so why not give my only work a try? Hope it might surprise and please you." In all essence of the novelty, novelist Liz Takayama with her only work that is Isekai Yakkyoku a.k.a Parallel World Pharmacy has been a delight to read in both the LN and manga, now translated into Diomedéa's anime adaptation that has come this season. For better or worse, this Isekai really stands out in its own clever way, even if its themes are borrowed from one similar premise that still doesn't hamper the writing abilities to make it one's very own work, that truly excels in its own pathology as (probably) the first Isekai in Syosetu's line…
