Re:Monster

Re:Monster

Introduction

One unassuming evening, a mysterious woman kills Tomokui Kanata. However, that is not the end of him, as he reincarnates in another world—though only as a mere goblin named Goburou. But in just a few days, Goburou's body matures and he is ready to begin hunting with another newborn goblin, Gobukichi. While they hunt, Goburou realizes that he has retained the extremely rare ability called Absorption from his previous life that allows him to gain various traits of anything he eats. Although it is rare for goblins to evolve, Goburou's and Gobukichi's efforts soon pay off as the two evolve into so-called hobgoblins. Their prowess impresses the other goblins, and Goburou becomes the leader of their pack and begins training his kind. As Goburou gains increasingly powerful abilities, evolves into even more superior species, and meets new significant allies, there is nothing that can stop his upcoming reign. Honestly, reading the little text on what the anime was about made me interested, first two episodes made me think it was gonna be an amazing show, that differs from all the other isekais. Well I was wrong, in the beginning the main character starts of as a gentleman who protects the captives from being SA but then later on when he becomes strong he starts AS other captives. From episode 2 this anime it’s only about him killing beasts to get stronger and in the middle of it getting laid with everyone, with or without their consent. I can’t believe a second season is in the making when this anime is promoting this kind of behavior. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.

I have to agree with alot of the other reviews regarding this anime. Promise in the first two episodes to horribly go downhill soon after. The first two episodes I actually enjoyed. Guy been reborn in a fantasy world as a Goblin with memories and abilities of his past life. Instead of the usual Isekai trope of "where am I? How do I get back?" Gobrou, our protagonist, embraces this second chance and uses his intelligence and abilities to excel in this world. He aligns with the biggest Goblin in his pack and uses his ability to steal others abilities (upon eating them) to get stronger. I honestly enjoyed seeing him get stronger in the first two episodes, taking control of the pack from the elder Goblins and installing his own code of "no longer kidnapping human women to rape and impregnate"…

This anime is the definition of the meme "had us in the first half, not gonna lie." I mean, it starts off pretty strongly with a very strong main character and a premise that's actually interesting, unlike most isekais out there. But it quickly becomes extremely stupid as it turns into a generic harem isekai power fantasy where they make the main character way too strong, way too fast removing all challenge and expectation from the progression of the anime. Then you add the harem on top of it and it just becomes another generic isekai harem fantasy for an author that probably couldn't get laid in real life and had to try to write it or draw it out in manga form. This has been done so many times at this point that it really is frustrating to see good potential manga and anime and stories…

This show could have been some quality isekai slop for people who like the generic power fantasy. It suffers from the same issues of bland characters and oversexualization you would see in any of these shows, but the action is well done. It also doesn't really go anywhere with the plot and has some very strange stuff that feels like the author satisfying a pregnancy fetish. All of this could be forgiven as quirks of the genre, except for one glaring issue: The main character is literally a r*pist and this is presented as nothing at best or a joke at worst. It's absolutely disgusting and makes the show entirely unforgivable. How can you be expected to root for a protagonist that's so awful? There's nothing graphic, but the implications alone say everything I need to know about the writers.

It was... Alright. Initially it was quite interesting, and gave good hopes that there'd be some great story. Turns out, that was a lie. I was hoping for more in depth story, adventuring, world-building, etc. Instead, most of the series was spent in a cave. Its a largely fighting, and battle orientated anime. It largely stuck to the whole "building a harem" trope, which personally, I find lame and tiresome. It also has, in my opinion, terrible pacing of time. Some things just happen at random intervals, days passing by in mere seconds to days that will last entire episodes. There was some hinting near the end that may credit towards future world-building being more in depth, but that's a real 50/50. Overall, I think its an alright watch, if you're looking for something simple. That or if…

harem OP isekai slop with the added bonus of everything feeling morally questionable at best. and not in a funny or quirky way or in any way that would make it fun to watch with friends while intoxicated. its just. nasty this took an interesting premise that i enjoyed in other isekai ive watched and then COMPLETELY RUINED it. every aspect of this anime is just covered in an uncomfortable layer of slimy degeneracy for no apparent reason. the main character is a hypocrite with half of what he says and does and has pretty much 0 personality otherwise or any sort of growth or anything redeeming. and yes, he is supposed to be a monster but its incredibly hard to care about anything that happens or feel at all emotionally invested in something when you dont actually like any of the characters…

I am only writing this because of how many bad reviews there are. Anyway, this was amazing. There is no holding back a true anime, honestly, I hate Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken and a growing majority of anime in this genre due to how filtered they are or how dumb they are take Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken for example if I watched it when I first started watching anime I probably would've never watched another because it seemed like an over exaggerated (forgive me) cartoon because anime is about going beyond limits and be more mature this had the gore and other mature aspects but kept a sense of light-heartedness sure it had some plot holes but nothing big and it didn't get overloaded with light-heartedness or stupidity like a lot of isekais lately (looking at you "I parry everything")…

What a terrible anime. I actually had to write a re: view because I was just surprised at how high the rating for this is. So prefix I did read the manga and watched the anime. Why? You may ask? Because I like torture and I had to know if it was just the anime that was just a poor adaptation or was the story just as bad in the manga. Let me tell the anime follows the manga to a T and that's a bad thing. The anime is bland, a poor excuse to make a weird breeding fetish anime/manga (which it doesn't even make interesting or fun)and the fight scenes are either non existent or just boring. the waifus are just offensive they might as well be an anime sex pillow with a moving face because things like personality is too hard for the author apparently. The most we get is, oh these girls are go…

“Re:Monster” is what happens when someone with no imagination or writing skills tries to write “Tensura”. Do You know what “Stockholm syndrome” is? It’s a term from the field of psychology. It occurs when a hostage starts to identify with the captor, starts to justify his actions and sometimes even develops strong feelings for them. It’s postulated that it’s a defence mechanism that increases the chance of surviving a dangerous situation. One theory is that people adjust their feelings toward the abuser when they are shown kindness, especially if it’s over time. That means that if You are abducted, treated badly and once in a while are shown kindness, there is a chance You might develop a positive feeling towards the aggressor. Even if You are victim of sexual assault during Your abductio…

This is another isekai that really doesnt need the isekai subplot. A guy is murdered and is reborn in another world as a goblin. And as he kills and eats monsters he gains their abilities and evolves and gets stronger. It starts off interesting. But then devolves into samey dull nonsense harem isekai. He becomes the leader of his village and helps them evolve too. The characters in this show change form so many times that i actually lost track of who was who. These are goblins who evolve into magicians, and blood mages, and necromancers, and vampires, and earth benders... And their clothes transform with them for some reason. They create alliances with other races. They go to war. They become mercenaries. Also all the females want to fck the main character because of course they do. I…

they skip alot of scenes alright even without watching manga or reading light novel you can already tell, in episode 3 they speed up the whole episode which is bad honestly after that it become normal again but they still doing a loooottt of skipping scenes so the rest of the episode become like that still its entertaining to watch since mc is not coward to girls so they have some s*x scenes, but bruh its like watching slime but skipping a lot of context sht overall its one of those low grade isekai that you will only enjoy if your looking for mc thats not coward to girls and if your generally isekai enjoyer which is also me but its not recommended to people who only like high grade anime production

I kind of enjoyed many episodes, it sure had some drawbacks, but it's entertaining, the art was decent, and the method of portraying was good. They could've avoided certain things, for example, in episode 6, the MC could have gone for the kill, instead of easily guessing the scenario, where he recruits the person who has very very few characters or scenes in the whole anime. The one thing I liked about the anime is, that he trains to get stronger with proper planning at the beginning, & the first few episodes are very interesting. They could not avoid the light harem, as it is necessary for future developments, yes they are popping babies out. Overall it's a nice, not boring, and decent anime.

Re:Monster manages to do something I’d never thought possible- to create a series that’s actually worse than a typical Isekai series. In theory, Re:Monster should have been more interesting. It features an amoral villain protagonist who is reincarnated as a goblin (later to evolve into an ogre) after being murdered by a Yandere in his original life. Re:Monster could have been a villain protagonist story along the lines of Overlord, but with Goblins. Instead, its just boring. Re:Monster has all the hallmarks of a typical Isekai. There’s an OP protagonist who rarely faces a challenge and a gaggle of generic and cookie-cutter anime girls who fawn over him. However, the biggest problem with Re:Monster is the story itself. Namely, there isn’t one. There is no real plot. In fact, there isn’t e…

Started out your average pretty bad but entertaining and funny OP MC isekai. Around half way through it shifted to worse than bad, weird, boring and overall cringey. I'd give the idea, first 3 episodes, and character design an 8/10. The later episodes were so cringe I had to skip through, which is impressive. Someone needs to make a good monster in an RPG show. The idea has such great potential but keeps getting wasted on cringe garbage. Focus on story and good characters! Monster harems like in this show are GIGA CRINGE. The trope was played out after the monster milkers show. Any show that has done it since deserves (and usually has) below a 6 rating. If you are a turbo weeb who has watched highschool dxd for the story 4+ times, this show is for you.

This anime is a scam at its finest. This gotta be the most click-baited anime show I've ever seen. TLDR: The first episodes of the show were good and it set up a decent storyline where the main character has a distinct characteristic different from everybody else setting up nice fights and action. I believe that the anime lost its edge around episode 3 where the anime started focusing on making a harem than making action. I don't know who the target audience for this anime was, but it surely had barely any good action or adventure. This is a harem without any good plot or action, avoid it at all costs, unless you like this sort of genre. Story:2 At first, I thought this isekai would stand out from the rest because the guy got reincarnated into a goblin instead of a human which portrayed…

In my opinion, as someone who doesn't know the original, the anime wasn't that bad, it does have moments of stuck animations, crooked design, but overall I liked it, I didn't think it was the worst thing in the world, as Some people are saying I've seen much worse adaptations than this and I haven't seen people complain so much but everyone has their own opinion. It was fun to follow Rou's journey alongside his group of Parabellun Mercenaries and see his interaction with other characters like Mi, Kichi, Terrae, Sato, Sei etc... as well as his children who were born in the final stretch of the anime, but because they were Rou's children, they developed quickly, taking away the human baby for the logical reason. Now we have to wait and see if the anime will have a sequel in the future or no…

I'm going to recommend this anime not because it's a gem in animation, it's a gem in comfortable storytelling, or it's one of the best manga adaptations that have ever existed. I'm going to recommend it because it is indeed entertaining, although it really isn't a big deal. The concept surrounding this anime is great, a protagonist who continually reincarnates in different worlds, adapting to them trying to climb in them, now being one of fantasy and like a monster. But we have to be honest, the story is written in such a way that it seems like a simple fanfic of a very horny teenager, the animation and the Lore are simply mediocre, but despite this I find it a completely entertaining story. At a certain point I can come to think that perhaps it would have been better if instead of being f…

Oh well, look, this trashy manga got an adaptation. Why? Who needed it? Wasn’t there anything better to adapt? Who knows, but let me tell you how bad this trash is. Visuals. Take a look at any picture related to this title. See those humans with a bit of a different colour of skin? Those are supposed to be goblins. Even better, after evolution most of them basically become humans with slightly bigger fangs. If this is not a good enough explanation of how little effort was put into the animation - check anything else. Everything looks bad and cheap. And at some points the combat isn’t even shown, here is your “I killed X and got Y from this fight”, a really great “show, don’t tell” implementation, am I right? Sound. Is it even there? VA did barely any job, and the bgm - I can’t even tell if…

Re:Monster - A Mushoku Tensei inspiration this is one, but don't get your hopes too high. Also: Ding Ding Dong, Like King Kong. Yelp, where can I actually begin to talk about novelist Kogitsune Kanekiru's Re:Monster, a work that actually preceded Rifujin no Maganote's masterpiece Isekai/fantasy series? In the same way that fellow friend Neo_Randomz quotes in his prelim review, the one word to describe the show would be (severely) "outdated," because everything "feels like it (should) belongs in the early to mid-2010s." And he would be right, because there's no better TL;DR than those one-sentence liners. To understand the story of Re:Monster, is to understand its origins: Shousetsuka ni Narou i.e. "Let's Become a Novelist", or simply called Syosetu, Japan's leading self-publishing websit…

After dying a pitiful death in a quasi-cyberpunk world, Tokokui Kanata is reincarnated into a fantasy world as a bottom-tier mob, a goblin named Gob-Rou. However, retaining his previous life's experiences and his overpowered absorption skill, Gob-Rou finds a way to get stronger and tries his best to live life the way he wants, free from control. Story & Character: 6/10 Re Monster takes the story day by day instead of episodically, so we see definitive progression throughout the series, provided with narration. This approach removes some of the suspense typically seen in episodic series that peak toward the end of each episode. Re Monster always tries to end on a satisfying note with as little plot friction as possible. This also becomes a drawback. It grows uninspiring, and we lose that s…
