Might as well open the manga and turn on auto scroll.
Its quite the letdown. The 'anime' is no more than a manga recap and is just the colored manga pages with minimal mouth movements. This is literally something ive seen be done as a fan project on youtube by manga recap channels. In itself it is ok but i cant really call that a anime. for that reason its a 0 out of 10 on animation.
Character development isnt really a thing here aside from opening up to comrade.
Story wise its quite alright, nothing we haven't seen before. 4/10
I guess if someone is too lazy to read the manga the dub would be somewhat attractive as a second screen entertainment.

I feel I have to give this anime the credit it deserves—and maybe encourage others to give it a try.
I'd like to respond to some of the things people often say about this anime:
"The visuals are bad." – I strongly disagree. I think the environments, backgrounds, monsters, and characters are all beautifully illustrated. In fact, I find the character designs far more appealing than those in most anime these days.
"The animation is cheap; it's mostly just still images." – Not true. The series is animated almost like a moving comic, but I don't think that's because of budget limitations. It's an artistic choice, and it's executed very well. In fact, I find that many anime rely on far cheaper tricks, such as:
- showing scenes from high angles so only the floor is visible, avoiding detailed…

I'll play the contrarian here on the few positive reviews of this and agree on the sentiment that this show sucks, no matter how much worldbuilding or interesting lore it has
Now, I do not inherently believe this show deserves any sort of analysis or proper amount of thought into describing why I dislike it. For starters, this is a TV production. A TV production that resembles Anime Beans. Remember Anime Beans? That one service Production I.G decided to make where they made a bunch of one-to-two minute anime "adaptions" of decently underground manga and kinda ruined their chance at ever getting an anime? Yeah, this is essentially the spiritual succesor to that, but in a TV-sized format. This means that the show FEELS like something you'd watch on your phone, not on your giant Roku 4K TV.…

This show tells us about one of the currently popular stories where the MC gets stronger and stronger by eating monsters
Story seems to be quite predictable, episodes seem to be 2 times shorter than your usual ~20min
Main throw off is the fact that this is more manga than anime, literally colored manga with dub on top of scenes
So over time you start to feel like you are reading manga rather than watching anime
And I believe the main reason of a very low score is exactly that
Have it normal mid-tier animation it would have had at least 6.5~7.3 rating but not higher than that due to predictable story
But unfortunately we have just colored manga with a dub on top
Would I recommend watching it? Definitely not, as it doesn't feel like an anime unfortunately
P.S.
Elf girl is very cute…

👹 What on earth happened? ☣︎
For months on this website, it stated that the show was going to run for a grand total of “?” episodes. I checked back today after watching the final 4 episodes and those sly foxes actually gave us 12 episodes.
I thought the ? meant at least 24 episodes…
Where’s the rest of it?
If we’re making a 10 min per episode show(minus OP ED) with half the production can we at least double the episodes….
This show does something special in respect to exposing the current state of the anime medium. It’s actually, in disguise, a test of intelligence and wisdom, a way to weed out the wheat from the chaff. There’s a lot of what the cool kids nowadays call “Tourists”. These people like a locusts to a bountiful field. They spawned in once they realized anime, was no longer…

Animation: 0/10
Story: 5/10
Overall: 3/10
I'll be direct. This is one of the worst anime I've seen in recent memory. The "animation" is hardly better than a slideshow. It even makes One Punch Man season 3 look like a masterpiece by comparison. Like barely moving cutouts with panning. And they're like 11 minute episodes.
The story itself is mid. It's the typical betrayed in dungeon, becomes overpowered in the process due to some unique skill that seemed weak, get some cute girl trope. That was in the series description, so I'm not really spoiling anything there. There's a bit more obviously. A bit of dungeon delving and adventuring. But at half the length of a typical anime and 4 episodes just to establish the trope baseline, there really isn't much. You're probably looking at about as mu…

If someone said a masterpiece got bad luck than this is one.
First of all let me tell you why it's good 😊.
Even through it's a dungeon adventure type, it's a very good story. The concept is also very nice. And the theme song and ending was also very good. And the artsyle.. Oh God ☺️! It was OP. I have seen many of these type of animation anime but it was the best among them. It's character design everything was top class. The foods design too. But unfortunately I or We couldn't see it's full potential. Yes, the bad thing , the bad treatment, the bad luck comes to it's animation and duration.
It's one of those) Comic type animation. You will understand when you see it. And as usual this type of anime episode duration less. Bcs of that we couldn't see it's full potential.
But puttin…

TLDR: I can't really recommend this, unless you want something super short, low animation and super simple to pass the time with, and you simply enjoy the concept of man eating monsters and gaining skills, if like me that's enough for you go ahead and watch it.
If you want average animation, you won't be getting it here, this while an anime is the equivalent of a motion comic more so, the story is very simple. For episodes 1-8, it's a main character that's a low level adventurer, gets betrayed in a dungeon and left for dead, has to eat monsters to survive because he was so hungry and injured, starts to gain the monsters abilities, then teams up with a high ranking adventurer due to his newly acquired skills helping her, the two then continue adventuring together.
Additionally each episode…

Monster Eater is probably one of the more underrated fantasy shows I’ve watched recently. I do not mean that in the “this is secretly a flawless masterpiece” sense, because it absolutely has limitations. The animation is simple, the presentation is closer to an animated manga than a high-budget TV anime, and there are parts of the power system that could have been explained more cleanly. But as an actual viewing experience, I enjoyed this far more than its score would suggest.
The main reason is simple: this is one of the rare “eat monsters / gain powers” stories that does not immediately turn into a generic overpowered power fantasy.
That trope is not completely new. Re:Monster, Berserk of Gluttony, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Reincarnated as a Sword, and similar series all…
