A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School!

A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School!

Introduction

Following a bad experience teaching at a public high school that resulted in a break from working, Haruaki Abe eagerly takes up a new job at Hyakki Academy. Despite his cowardice, the novice teacher is motivated to do better this time around. However, his mind quickly changes when he finds out that everyone at the school is actually a supernatural being known as a youkai, leaving him glaringly out of place as the only human around. Facing his class as its new homeroom teacher, Abe immediately becomes a target for the students' antics due to his quick-to-scare nature. Though as the man starts to learn more about the creatures, as well as himself, getting along with the unruly group might not be as hard as he originally thought as their school lives begin to get more vibrant. Honestly, this anime is great in my opinion. But i'm not sure for the others. As a person who only watch the anime im gonna give my honest review and im not gonna sugarcoat anything, i think. And im gonna use other review too! This not gonna be a long one and my grammar is bad as hell so don't mind if this review is bad asf. The characters lore and build is pretty good ,most of them have really deep lore and actually interesting. Everyone BUT the protagonist. the only shit that we have is a little piece of cake that give us enough infomation to know what going on. I'm not gonna complain about it tho. I think the protagonist was made for the laugh and not much deep build, which i understand because there still a lot of protagonist have that too, i don't know about yall. I already read othe…

SPOILER FREE REVIEW The anime kicks off with a brilliantly simple, yet highly entertaining concept: Haruaki Abe, a famously cowardly human who is terrified of everything, somehow ends up as a teacher at an academy exclusively for yokai (Japanese mythological monsters and ghouls). The humor immediately hits the ground running. Watching a highly anxious human try to manage a classroom full of chaotic, supernatural teenagers provides endless slapstick comedy and hilarious misunderstandings. While the show excels at gag comedy and eccentric character dynamics, its true strength lies in its emotional core. Underneath the supernatural hijinks, the anime is deeply rooted in the classic "inspirational teacher" trope, but with a fantastic twist. Haruaki may be a coward, but his genuine care for h…

I've never written an anime review until now. To keep things short, if you read the premise for the show and think it sounds interesting, don't bother watching the anime. Just read the manga. The anime feels like a lazy, sloppy retelling of the manga, and even then it barely sticks to the original manga chapters- which wouldn't be a problem considering how it's mostly a gag show, had it not been for the fact that it makes the whole anime feel messy and confusing at times. The anime has subpar animation, barely sticks to the original art style (which is what made me start reading the manga in the first place), the voice acting feels off (especially for the main character, his voice is just plain annoying at times), and all of the more emotional moments fall flat due to bad timing. Speaki…

This one is the literal meaning of a hidden gem. There is no one boring episode, an anime you really don't want to end. It may seem like the typical premise of a daily life of a teacher but in a youkai setting with a lot of comedy, but there is depth to the story. The depth is really well mingled in the setting. The story flows in a really beautiful way. You don't feel like anything is forced or out of place. You will realize you know a lot about the characters, their stories and their upbringings naturally with no obvious flash blacks or forced drama. The most attractive thing in this anime is the characters. It has a lot of characters and all of them are given depth and purpose. Despite the anime showing 2 main characters only in its description, but by watching you will figure out tha…

Coming into this, I thought this was an unserious comedic anime. Turns out, I was wrong. I mean it was, but slowly it wasn't. It started as a simple story of a perverted human teacher teaching ghouls, doing silly stuff and making fun of Abe Haruaki's uniform fetish. It started becoming serious, showing the pure relationship of Haruaki and his students, how dedicated he is to helping them (even if he had to risk his life), the relationships between the students, the underlying story and the true moral of the show. This is a show that's filled with a rollercoaster of emotions. Some episodes would make you laugh and smile, some would make you emotional, sad and think.

I had mixed feelings about this show in the first couple episodes, but as it went farther it really started coming together and became a very enjoyable experience. Though it comes off completely just comedy based, it does actually have a plot, and a really good one at that too. Eventually I came to look forward to this show as it was airing :) Character-wise, i love them all. lol. They're incredibly likable and once the plot starts unraveling the characters only became better and better. They're also very different and unique from each other so I feel that complimented the series as well. Animation isn't anything amazing, but I feel it not being amazing has its own charm to it. So I liked it in that aspect. On the Story/Plot front, once it got the second half, a bunch of the plot star…

Expectations vs. Reality As a long-time reader of the manga, I was excited when the anime adaptation was announced. Satelight, the studio handling the adaptation, has a history of producing above-average anime, so I had high hopes. Disappointments Voice Acting: 5/10 The protagonist’s voice acting was disappointing—too high-pitched and unnatural. In contrast, the side characters were voiced exceptionally well. Animation Quality: 4/10 Action and emotional scenes were poorly animated. Overall, the visuals felt rushed and lacked fluidity. Story Adaptation: 3/10 Significant parts of the manga were skipped. Many jokes were censored, reducing the comedic impact. Overall Execution: 4/10 The anime felt rushed and likely suffered from a low budget. Despite being 24 episodes long, it failed to…

When I saw the title, I was like "Oh, is this gonna be like Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School? This might be kinda fun!" But instead, it's just... the teacher has a uniform fetish. And works as a teacher so that he can look at people in uniforms... and is constantly getting harassed and insulted by his students (rightfully so) for constantly trying to force his annoyingly obsessive and creepy fetish onto a bunch of high schoolers... Can we stop getting shows with absolute garbage protagonists that everyone gravitates towards and worships as a hero JUST because they're the main character? The amount of times this show had a character say something along the lines of "Despite our teacher being a creep and a loser and an idiot and having no backbone or redeeming qualities whatsoever, he's still…

A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School! - Is this an instance of "letting the predecessor walk so that subsequent series can gain more fame and recognition"? Hmm...seems like déjà vu. If you're thinking what I'm thinking...then yes. There is the popular series of mangaka Osamu Nishi's Mairimashita! Iruma-kun a.k.a Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun, which started in March 2017, with the anime having 3 seasons and counting since Fall 2019. In fact, you might realize that this series is actually unique in that no other author has done this before. In retrospect, yes and no. While we have all come to idolize Osamu Nishi and her way of depicting characters of Iruma Suzuki and the yokai gang for a good 5+ years now, the reality is that her series wasn't the first to set this trailblazer going. Th…
